Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great week with Bahia Principe

It was our third time going there and would go again. The grounds were very well kept and clean, the workers were very friendly and enthusiastic. We enjoyed the beach and activities there like volleyball and aqua exercises. The pools were clean with lots of chairs. We had a great time with the entertainment team at the main pool. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Bahia compound of 7 resorts in Punta Cana is not recommended

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HERE 2.5 star 3 at most The bad - wifi works 35% of the time and slow,can be upgraded for $, but it won’t improve - Food is always cold at the buffets/ under cooked and burnt even when they first open - Short staffed/ rude - Taking over 2hrs at the à la carts restaurants - Can only pick 3 a la cart restaurants - Staff can’t speak English - Pools cold - Staff doesn’t seam happy at all - Live wires out in the open - Things In disrepair - Room keys quit [... read more] working and taking 45 minutes to get new ones - Room had a lot of water in it from the ac, took 2 try’s to fix - Bugs are really really bad at night no matter where you are, you will get eaten alive - Service is really really slow The good - There are some good staff/ really nice and fun, only found 6 - Room was always clean - Food at a la carte restaurants really good - Golf carts to take you to places From all of the people I have talked to this is one of the worst spots that they have been to, but you can go for your self and see it first hand, but I wouldn’t recommend it. If you see good reviews it’s either they were payed or it was there first one The Bahia chain is amazing. I loved all the Bahia resorts in other parts of the Dominican as well as in Mexico. My all time favourite resort ever is the Bahia Pincipe luxury runaway bay Jamaica that we went to 2 months prior to the Bahia compound in Punta Cana. We have been to 9 Bahia resorts. This resort compound was severely disappointing. It had the potential to be so much better. Hot food and the property sprayed for insects would have made a world of difference.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beatiful Resort

No complaints about the food. There appeared to be something to please everyone. Plus, the specialty restaurants provided even more variety. The grounds were daily cleared of fallen plant material. Not quite as much attention was paid to human garbage that occasionally littered the gardens and waterfront. I enjoy snorkelling and I had read a very good review of the possibilities. However, we had a big wind and rain storm while I was there which made the ocean very rough. I was unable to  [... read more]kayak and some snorkelling areas were too silty and/or had too strong a current. These big storms seem to be more common. Therefore, snorkelling and kayaking are not reliable activities. Because the resort area is so large, walking from one end to another is a good distance. There are multiple beaches also, if one tires of an area. The swimming areas of mostly very shallow. They have the longest pool that I have seen at a resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing resort

Food was amazing. 24hr room service A la Carter every night Rooms were clean. Staff extremely friendly and caring. It is a distance to the beach but there's a trolly to take you all over. The resort was overall quiet and relaxing. If you're looking to party though I'd maybe suggest one of the Bahia closer to the beach

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing resort!

This resort surpassed our expectations. We had tried to find a place that offered better food than a previous trip at a different location and the food was great. Lots of variety at the buffet and the reserved restaurants felt like we were eating in fine dining venues. The staff was always helpful and welcoming. The entertainment staff always had something going on and we’re very energetic and friendly. The resort itself is quite large and offers many different things to do. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: More than expected

This resort is well maintained, (Akumal) the grounds are impeccable, the staff courteous and attentive. The little shuttle carts run often during the day and often enough at night. There is access to food and drink 24/7. Snack bar is open from 11 pm to 5 am. The restaurants available were good and had something for everyone. We were only disappointed in one. Fun activities and places to be quiet. Something for everyone. I was impressed at check in when I walked up with a cane and the desk staff said there is no elevator. I said no problem. They said let me get you a room on the ground floor, you are currently on the second floor. I said I am not worried but they moved me around and got me on the first floor. This was all done by the front staff noticing my cane. I had said nothing!!! That is impressive. The live bands at the bar were very talented. Drinks generous and premium liquor available. We'd go back!!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Large resort

The grounds were well kept and rooms were clean and spacious. Disappointed we didn't get king bed just two doubles which were comfortable. Food and drinks plentiful and lots of variety available. The staff was courteous. We were locked out of our room due to low battery and it looks three times returning to lobby for staff to fix it. I insisted on someone coming back to room..other than that it was a good holiday.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful Spot, Wonderful Vacation

This hotel met all of our expectations, we were offered an upgrade upon check in and ended up with an ocean view room. The resort itself is huge but well laid out. Food is incredible and staff are very friendly and willing to help always! Would def go back!!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very good resort

We just got back from a week spending in Bahia Principe and we truly enjoyed our stay! The rooms are a bit out dated but the layout and energy were amazing, the resort is gorgeous, staff, service, food, facility, beaches were perfect! It was our second time there and we will definitely go back again, hoping next time the rooms will be renovated! Keep up the good work! Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Nice Resort

Lots of great things about this resort a few being pizza and charcoal hotdogs and burgers at one of the pools everyday alacartes are good except the fish market restaurant. It’s a big resort so you need to take the trolleys everywhere food in the buffet is good nice variety lobster 2 nights a week rooms were quiet and clean however outdated.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Would not return

I gave a 3.5 stars to this resort just because of the beach. Would probably be a 2.5 or 3 stars. The room was ok. We were there 15 years ago and it had not changed. It is a rundown hotel. Need a lot of fixing. Lack of staff. Music is very loud at the pool or on the beach. Not even able to listen to my music with my headphones. If you don't smoke you will have to smell the cigarette everywhere. There is always someone smoking. people were dropping hash and cigarette butts on the pool deck. Unless [... read more] you got to the a la carte restaurant, the food was warm or cold at the buffet. A few people got food sick including my wife. Unless you get early, all the chairs were reserved before we got there. The staff was friendly. If you wanted some quiet time, there is a small pool with only a short number of chairs available or you had to walk on the beach away from the resort. There is a jacuzzi but it is pool temperature so no one uses it. Most of the people were 55 and over and young family no need for extra loud music or base.

Our party arrived on December 19,2023 and upon arrival check in was horrid. We were checked in without wrist bands and the staff was going to use a sharpe marker to change the bracelet colour. Here you seem so happy to see the menu that includes tacos,ice cream, chessy fries etc. However you can only oder a hotdog,hamburger,french fries and sometimes chicken nuggets and empanadas. After ordering everything on the menu the only time you could ingest the food is if you had been drinking otherwise it was not edible. We searched everynight for any souce of night life and nothing this resort is very quiet like ghost town at night probably because everyone is in their room vomiting from all the bad food that they ingested during the day this was or had come to our attention when we were in our room and we could hear people in the surrounding rooms vomiting we actually had to call the reception to do something about it. Even when eating at the restuarant people were vommiting it was disgusting. The beach is so far away and have shuttles that are labelled L1,L2,L2 etc however you could wait all day for one to shuttle you to the beach. When you do get to the beach there are a.selected few beach chairs if any. The staff made it seem like we were bothering them and on several occassions the staff were rude until you spole their language then the attitude shifted. Our group needed bug spray and it cost us $20 usd The only good entertainment is once a week on a thursday and you have to pay extra for it. The worst and most disgusting was having cochroaches in the buffet area and in and around the bar by the pool. The staff did not seem to care as people were videoing their disgust. I have travelled many times to punta cana and never had an experience like this one. Avoid at all costs . The cheaper is not always better In this case the more expensive your trip the less you get there..if you have a reservation please.rebook somewhere else you will thank me later .

great place. good food. good people. nice pool. beach was ok...I will return. the jerk chicken at the beach is the best. entertainment in the evening always had talented artists. .rooms are comfortable'. no complaints.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great vacation

This was our 2 time here and as usual it was a great vacation. Food was absolutely delicious especially at the Don Pablo and The Knife’s. The buffet had great food the 3 night we went many choices to choose from for everyone. We were lucky and got one of the newly renovated room. The beaches were nice the one by the kids pool was the best the other ones were ok. Lots of music at the pool which was great entertainment , the entertainment staff did a great job with the entertainment. The Jerk restaurant at the pool was amazing with great food. You definitely will need bug spray we got gotten several times thank goodness I had lotion with me for the bites after reading reviews. We did have a foul smell in our room which was the water it was bad at times but manageable. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica

The resort was a fantastic location. Clean facilities, the grounds were impeccable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only fault I had was the beach immediately in front of the resort. While very clean and amazing views, the sand was quit rocky and difficult to walk on. Other then that, I would return in a second to this place and recommend it to anyone.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Disappointed

Not at all what we expected. People smoking everywhere, unfriendly and unhelpful staff, poor service and mediocre food. Beach was nice and pools ok but not a place I would ever return to. The food was just OK but nothing special. The pool bars ignored you unless you gave them big tips. Room cleaning was a joke.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent resort!

We enjoyed our stay at Bahia Principe Grand Coba. We had a lovely, large room and the cleaning service was very prompt. The grounds and pools were large and well maintained. The buffet was really good. The snack bar was open until 6 am which was great. The raccoons that frequented the snack bar were pretty bold but cleared off after being squirted by the waiters!! Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: 1st time at a Bahia and probably the last

Give this resort a 3 ? definitely not a 5 ?. Resort is old and is due for an upgrade. Facilities are well maintained but definitely a lot of wear and tear. Rooms are clean but felt like we were in the early 2000's. Mattress was rock hard and felt like you were sleeping on plywood. Beach is spectacular. Can walk for miles. Area for hotel is very condensed and a fight for chairs. Weakest point of the hotel is the food. Felt I was eating in a cafeteria and not a 5 star resort. Awesome stay at the Bahia Principe El Portillo! My husband and I traveled with another couple. They honoured our request to stay in the same building block. The entertainment team was amazing - always looking to make the guests laugh and brought positive energy. The fitness (e.g., water aerobics, yoga) classes were great! The beach is absolutely beautiful - very clean and private. The pool is awesome - never feels crowded and just the right temperature. We also really enjoyed the food - even the [... read more] buffet had a nice selection! The rooms are dated but clean and we spent most of the time outside of the rooms anyway. Overall, awesome value for your money!!
