JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Beautiful country , hard working staff

The resort is very beautiful and the food is very good the room service 24hours and also very good . They had lots of really good entertainment . Cafe world had really good coffee freshly ground lattes and snacks . The only downfall is the beach dark and murky but the view is amazing. the room is was very nice no point in upgrading Oceanview because they all are and have hottubs on balcony every room . DON'T BOTHER GETTING THE 200 DOLLAR COUPON IT'S A RIP OFF. THE DUTY FREE AT [... read more] THE AIRPORT IS CHEAPER THEN THE RESORT GIFT SHOP. 2 BOTTLES 10 BUCKS. Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort

Fantastic resort. From arrival every detail is thought out. Hot towels to greet you off the bus, welcome drinks and excellent front desk staff. The rooms are perfect. Mini bar was always stocked. Room service 24hrs a day. Gardens are beautiful with zen music playing throughout. Always something to do for the kids. Drinks and food great. The perfect size with great dining options at night. Loved the staff, friendly and hard working. Really wonderful stay. Thank you!

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Excellent staff

The resort is probably the oldest Dreams we've been to therefore it is lacking some of the newer amenities ( i.e. wand in shower). It is situated on a large property which is remote from Cancun. Lots of flora and fauna and the odd Coati. The beach is walk-able.The staff will bend over backwards to make you happy. Great food, room average, nice location.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Good Family Vacation

went to this resort in Sept/16 with my daughter husband and 2 children, our 4th visit to a Dreams resort in Dominican and their 3rd visit as well to Dreams in Dominican Republic. we were accommodated with adjoining room which was wonderful and we were very grateful for. The bathroom in our room was shower only and honestly quite outdated otherwise room was great. The beach was not the calm clear water but having been there before we knew this in advance. The kids club was fabulous and our grand [... read more] children were well taken care of and we felt quite safe leaving them in their care they went above and beyond their duties to ensure the children were all having a memorable time. Food was great and resort was immaculate the only negative thing I could comment on was the water and our bathroom. I would recommend the Kids Club to any parent who had reservations about leaving their children with strangers, they all were amazing with the kids and Dreams should be very proud of their dedicated staff and workers as they truly are the heart of this resort.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: No wow factor

We have no complaints about the hotel room (we had a deluxe family room - in block 3), it was spacious and met our needs. The property was clean and well laid out. The pool was great - spacious and clean. The food was great - the themed restaurants offered great variety and the main buffet always had something interesting. Staff were attentive and responded to requests well. My let downs came with the Beach and the Kid's club. -We saw Red Flags all of the 7 days we were there - not sur [... read more]e if it was due to the time of year, or the side of the island, but we missed out on any and all water activities and just being at the beach. -The kid's club was also disappointing. There is a water slide and play ground for 3-12 yr olds - no parents allowed. This means that we were not able to be with our kids and the times they were allowed to use those features were very limited. My girls (4 and 5 1/2 - were not thrilled and did not want to go back - we sent them there 3 times). Other children seemed to like it, so it just might not have been right for our girls. Overall we enjoyed our vacation - but 7 days in the pool was more than enough, and not what we had planned to do.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Nice Resort

The resort has a lot of good qualities. The food was amazing and a lot of detail in the presentation of it. Rooms were comfortable. The pool is the highlight of the resort for us. Negatives were the beach was very windy and red flagged 5 out of 7 days. It rained for a bit every day. By the end of the week everything felt damp. Take a couple of swim suits so you don't have to put a cold damp one back on the next day. A lot of inconsistency with small things, one day no face cloths, next day  [... read more]you get one another day you get two and no bath mat you have to use a towel. Candles on all tables in the restaurants but the don't bother to light them. The only thing about the buffet(world cafe) was inconsistency with the table settings. Eg. Some days only 3 coffee cups at a table of 8 some of would have spoons and some didn't. We we go back? No, not to this Island. We might try another AMresort again but not in the Dominican.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Quiet, Remote and Beautiful

Typical AM Resort,very similar to the Secrets brand however, it is a family resort but not that different. Good food, Good selection of quality liquor. Plenty of bars and restaurants to suit whatever cuisine you like. Disappointment with housekeeping on a continuous basis. Often having to call for amenities not left or towels shorted when housekeeping did show up. We had requested Housekeeping with a three hour window that rarely was ever met. Bellman did not show up for our bags although we gave him plenty of notice as a result of only having one cart for the whole resort because the others were in maintenance we were told causing us to take her bags basically to the checkout counter in the preferred lounge. The all inclusive AM Resorts has that down to perfection unfortunately the willing staff wasn't quite always up to the task. The remote location would be perfect for someone looking for a quiet getaway and I would recommend it for people with or for that matter without children since there are areas exclusively for both. Clean and modern and simplistic would be the best way for me to describe this cookie-cutter AM resort. I guess consistency would be the best way to describe it. What's wrong with meeting someone's expectations consistently

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Good vacation not excellent

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon, and this is our 4th trip to DR and 3rd to a Dreams chain. The grounds are very clean, front desk staff not exceptional. The resort layout was a bit odd with kids club quite a walk from lobby and main theatre / casino outside as well. A couple days into the trip, my parents made arrangements to visit from dreams PC and were made to wait over 30min at security gate before allowed in. (The drive from PC to Palm Beach is only 30min.) I complained to concierge a [... read more]s they were sitting there, and he told me he needed confirmation. I said get your confirmation while they sit in the lobby not in a cab in 38c heat. ( Really, what are they going to do, run and jump in the pool and get to stay for free for the day? A bit ridiculous) When my folks were allowed in to the resort, the staff had an issue with the "Dreams Dollars" issued by Dreams Punta Cana to my parents to cover the day pass cost. They asked for paperwork to verify the Dreams Bucks? Thankfully it was taken care of rather quickly by a management team member. The food was great at all the a la cartes. The pasta station and omelette station were the best part of the buffet. Abby at kids club is AMAZING, and kept the kids busy for a couple hours a day. The sunquest rep Cristian, booked us a pirate adventure and we asked for a golf outing that he said he would take care of. He never called us back about the golf so we figured it out ourselves and the pirate/shark adventure was cancelled once due to weather. On the rescheduled day we waited most of the morning and finally had concierge call him. He said it was cancelled again due to weather but what was frustrating was we wasted the entire morning packed up, sitting in the lobby waiting for the bus to show. Off the resort is very safe and a short walk to get souvenirs. Overall, it's time for something new for us, but clean, descent pools and good food.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Wonderful Staff and resort

The staff, such as Robin Hood at the Coco Cafe, Emilio our never enough server, Georgie,(Sammy Soussa) always checking on us at the buffet. The always polite and ever accommodating staff ,for everything, you name it they acquired it! The rooms were lovely and spacious, my daughter emailed the hotel and a awesome chocolate dessert appeared one evening during our stay...amazing! Numerous pools, great beach, never ending drinks most attentive service!

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: AWSOME week

My husband and I along with my brother in law and sister in law stayed here the week of September 25 to October 2/2016. The resort is only 20 mins away. We stayed in the Preffered section building 2 which was great. We had our own private check in, own adults only pool section which was very relaxing. The water was warm, we had endless drinks and a small buffet of food to enjoy while you were there. The room was nice, clean and the shower was the biggest I've ever seen! Ask for the mini bar upgr [... read more]ade. You get 2 mini bottles of rum and vodka, a snickers chocolate bar, M&M and Pringles chips every night. We took them on the plane with us to snack on. The private beach was nice too. The resort was not full so you felt like you had the beach all to yourself. There was quite a bit of seaweed that week but the guys were cleaning it up constantly and our resort beach was the cleanest if you were walking. The water was warm for swimming. The only issue we had were the vendors walking by and calling out to you to lookie lookie and it got annoying! We love the beach because of the nice constant breeze but after a while we move to the big pool where there is great music and it's more lively. The grounds are beautifully kept. The pools were clean. There is a coffee shop we enjoyed with yummy treats and great cappuccinos, lattes and iced drinks. All the ala cart restaurants were good and the buffet was excellent. I have to say all the people there are really friendly, always trying to please you. George and Emillio....we miss you already. Concidering some work 12 days on and 3 days off and others 24 days on and 6 days off....they are always happy to see you. Great staff! We went to Don Lucas Cigars for a couple of hours. Please don't buy cigars from the beach vendors! They are terrible. Go to Don Lucas. They pick you up and drop you off for free. We've been there 5 times now and will keep going back every time we're in Punta Cana. There's a rum bar, chocolate factory, coffee tasting etc. We love it. Nice to get off the property too for a bit. The entertainment was a surprise. It was actually pretty good. We've seen some really bad shows but here was good. The weather was great but can't say that for this week as hurricane Matthew blows by. We were lucky to have left just before the rains came. Anyways, we all loved this resort and we wouldn't hesitate to return here. We loved the size, the people, the food was excellent and all in all we had an AWSOME week!

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great food friendly staff

The food was excellent...service was above average, the staff were very friendly. The beach and pools were excellent, room was clean and good maid service - negatives...... we felt there was no real benifits to being in "preferred club" the Bali beach beds that were advertised were not up and beach wait staff were very slow (even with great tipping) ran out of premium liquor (frangelico) and was never restocked when requested. Overall 8/10

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great Time

The staff at the resort were great. Very friendly, entertaining and pleasant. The food was always fresh and yummy! The restaurants don't need reservations and the buffets are outstanding. The rooms were spacious but could use more drawers for storage. There are lots of beds available around the pool and there was great space at the beach as well. We would definitely recommend to stay here to friends and family and we'd love to go back soon!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Amazing resort!

Just got back from yet another wonderful stay at Dreams Punta Cana! This was our second visit to this beautiful resort and we can't wait to go back! I cannot say enough about the outstanding treatment we received here. Hats off to our wonderful maid (sorry forgot her name), to Jean Carlos for the beautiful room, to Jackson and Yonis for making us laugh while we drank and to all the rest of the staff for always wearing a smile! I spent one week with my husband in Costa Rica- Hotel Dreams Las Mareas. This Hotel is excellent , food, services , cleansing. Beautiful room very clean, free phone for US and Canada . I had problem with my tooth, the Concierge Masella organized taxi , appointment with dentist in small town La Cruz all perfect. All staff very polite, friendly Claudia, Francisco ....

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Dreams, Punta Cana, just really dreamy

Let's start with the problems. My wife and I arrived at Dreams on Sunday, Aug 21, and were not able to get our booking request of a 2nd floor unit, but was put on the 3rd floor. When arriving at our room, we noticed that the A/C was not working, but since we were tired, used the ceiling fan and waited until the morning. On Monday morning, we approached the concierge at the Preferred Club, and explained about the A/C, and was told that it was resort wide, and it will be fixed by 3:00pm. The A [... read more]/C was still not working that night, so the next morning we approached the concierge again, and was told that there were no rooms available to move to. I requested an upgraded room with A/C, but was told it was $60/day extra, we declined, but finally were moved on Wednesday, 4 days later. Upon arrival at Dreams, we were told to meet with the Air Transat person at 9:00am the next morning. We arrived promptly, and were told he was late, we waited until 10:00am and left. We returned Tues, Wed, Fri, and Sat at 9:00am to see him. Other travel operators said that he rarely showed up at this resort. WHY IS HE BEING PAID, AND WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING ANY SERVICE. Having paid for the Preferred club, our luggage was to be picked up at 1:30pm on the day we were leaving. We waited until 2:00pm and he never showed, so we took our luggage ourselves, fearing we would miss the transportation. Now for the pleasing part of our trip. The Preferred club had excellent A/C, and great snack foods, for each meal. A special commendation to Andre and Jilbert, they did an extremely great job in serving us. The servers at the beach were very excellent as well. We were quite impressed with their service. The food at all of the restaurants was very good, and great service. The grounds were well kept, but the rooms need to be updated. There were complaints of leaking water, no A/C, and no place to put your clothes, other than hanging them up (no dressers) I will not be returning to this resort.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Good vacation

I've been to Punta Cana several times and have stayed at various resorts. This resort was okay but not as good as others. The poor: The front desk service was poor. The rooms were not designed well and it was difficult to share with my travel partner. Two women need more space for their things and there was little privacy for changing/ dressing. The bathroom was run down and needed an upgrade. The good: the staff was great. Erika was a pleasant waitress at the buffet as was Emilio. Juan and Jorg [... read more]e at the Italian restaurant were also great. As was Darlin who was part of the entertainment team. The a la cartes were really good. The pool and resort grounds were beautiful.

Dreams La Romana: Beautiful setting😊

Loved the beach and resort lay out . Staff were outstanding, went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. Food was good, Olio and French restaurants very good. Rooms were nice and very clean, but not well insulated, could hear noise and voices from neighbours. Need to employ a wrist band method to screen guests from using Prefferred bar and hallways- spoils relaxation for guests who prefer peace and quiet. Nightly entertainment is mediocre - loveusoc would be a great asset.

Resort was nice. The grounds where hard to navigate around tho. Food was ok nothing to write home about Staff was friendly and accommodating. Wedding I attend was well put together the planner did an awesome job.

Staff were extremely friendly and always willing to please you. The grounds/gardens were beautiful. Plenty of shade by the pool and at the beach. There were never enough bartenders ...at the beach barandlobby bar. The sports/disco bar only had 1 bartender who worked extremely fast. We were there as a large group who all paid the same but got different sizes of rooms. Rooms were cleaned regularly but no consistency with who received snacks, bed turn downs etc.

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Nice Resort

The resort was nice, the food and service was great, however the drinks were okay and night time entertainment was so far from the lobby. It would have been nice if the resort was set-up in away that all the restaurants and bars were central the lobby area. The seating was uncomfortable and so was the bed. The room was nice, however the air conditioner could have been better.
