Riu Flamingos: Amazing resort

The food/drinks/rooms were awesome!!! Food was so good…rooms very clean…overall staff was awesome and considerate…everything was great. We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. RIU is an awesome brand..best ones we like

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: PARADISE IN NEGRIL AT THE RIU PALACE TROPICAL BAY

This resort is absolutely beautiful! From the impeccable grounds to the delicious food served at the buffet and at the a la carte restaurants. We stayed in an ocean view junior suite . Waking up to the sounds of the pristine waters and admiring the sunsets in the evenings was breathtaking(most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen). The best part of our vacation was the beach. Riu Latino: Amazing Resort

Overall, we absolutely loved this resort! Food - 5/5, many great options, with multiple great restaurants as well Swimming pools - 5/5 multiple pools, two have bars, one has a volleyball net and one has their main events/activities such as crazy games and dancing classes Room - great! Large and he view was great! Staff - 5/5 absolutely love the entertainment team and staff in the hotel. Ps: the entertainment team was amazing and they would remember “The Romanian”

Riu Montego Bay: Pure dead brilliant

the resort is fantastic. it is spotless and the rooms are spotless and modern. the bars and restaurants were excellent, the food was good, with the exception of the Steak House which was terrible. we walked out halfway through our meal it was that bad. the staff were fantastic and friendly. and only to happy to help with anything. the swim up bar pool was always busy and load as to be expected. but had to be evacuated 3 times during our stay due to someone throwing up in two occasions and once  [... read more]someone had diarrhea in the pool. pick one of the other 3 pools to be safe,

Riu Montego Bay: Amazing Resort

1) Lovely time thanks to the staff there who treated us with great hospitality - reception staff, servers in dining areas, bartenders, lifeguards and house cleaning staff. 2) Can't say enough about the Entertainment staff who were FABULOUS in entertaining us day and night. Thoroughly enjoyed their shows. 3) Food was great and lots of variety. 4) Our family suite was great, except that the room has a king-size bed which was 2 double beds pushed together as a king-size bed. 5) NEW - Adul [... read more]ts Only Resort - nice change. 6) NEW - more swimming pools (instead of only 2 as in the past) which is great plus a splash water area with slides which was fun. 7) NEW - renovations to lobby area. We didn't find it as appealing as the lobby area before. Before there was a large table on which was placed a large floral arrangement which really enhanced the lobby area. Also with the renovation, there are some area rugs under the coffee tables in the seating area which look very bland, inexpensive (even if that is not the case) and not attractive. Hopefully this will be looked at as we gather other guests had the same assessment.

Riu Palace Mexico: Very nice resort!!!

Very beautiful hotel located in the gated community, super safe for evening walks. The lobby gave us that retro vibe. The whole hotel is filled with inspirational art pieces. The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm from all the hotel’s stuff starting from reception desk and ending with waitresses, maids and gardeners. This was the first time when we didn’t feel harassed for tips and people actually did their job. Didn’t spend time by the pool at all as for us the beach was more imp [... read more]ortant. The beach was very clean and specious. No matter at what time you come there are always plenty of reclining loungers available. Food was very fresh and always new dishes. Very big variety, we haven't had a chance to try out everything. We were emptying our plates every time, the food was very tasty and not overcooked. From day one, never had a problem with an upset stomach. We really enjoyed our stay inn and we will be definitely coming back.

Riu Latino: Nice resort, has potential.

The best thing about the resort is that it is spotless and the rooms are lovely. We also enjoyed not having the hassle of booking reservations at the restaurants, instead you just show up and if you have to wait for a table then they give you a buzzer to let you know when to come back. The beach was nice as well and never had trouble finding a lounge chair at the beach or poolside. Areas where the resort was lacking….pools! They had several small pools, two were swim up bar pools but very s [... read more]mall and overcrowded. I would much rather have had a large pool that you can swim around than serval small ones- very choppy. Another big miss at this resort is the lack of bathrooms- if you need to use the washroom and are at the beach or pool you basically need to run to the main lobby as there are only two bathrooms near the pool and only one stall each for men and 2 for women. The lack of washrooms is actually unbelievable. None of the a La carte restaurants have washrooms so you need to go to the one bathroom in the main lobby. Entertainment also lacking….stayed a week and only two decent shows. There should have been entertainment nightly but this was not the case. Majority of staff and guests are Spanish speaking so all activities and entertainment is in Spanish with little in English. Activities near pool were repetitive and activity staff seemed young and not very engaging. This is a small resort- if you are going to relax it’s great. If you want good entertainment it is lacking. If you need a bathroom good luck.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Gorgeous Spot with Great Food and Drinks

The beach is amazing. The food and drinks were the best I've had at a resort. The resort is clean and newly renovated. The staff are friendly and helpful. The resort is not huge like others, and my senior parents could get around easily.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Good Resort

Riu Montego Bay: Had a blast

We just returned from one week at the riu Montego Bay. It was a blast !!! The entertainment was amazing. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating. The food at this resort was unbelievable. However… If you’re someone looking for a nice beach, this isn’t the place. There’s seagrass everywhere, you can’t go in any further than your knees before you Hit the seagrass. We had to leave the resort for the day and pay to go to DR’s cave beach so we can swim for one day. Also  [... read more]when we checked in we were talked into upgrading to an ocean front room because it was my 40th birthday. What a waste of money. Our first room didn’t even have a view of the ocean And took us three days to switch rooms with a view of the ocean. Save your $ .. do a garden view !! Overall we had a great time.

Riu Flamingos: Lovely Resort

Good size rooms. Beautiful well kept grounds. Great variety of food at restaurants. Entertainment variety commendable. Wonderful , friendly and helpful staff. Looking forward to our next visit early next year.

Riu Guanacaste: RIU Costa Rica

The hotel did not change much same as about 10 years ago. The fight was good going down thanks too you and others that work with you . We had to take a bus from terminal 3 so we could get to the plane that was the worst set up .There was no ramps for people in wheel chairs or walkers too get on the bus or off .Was very hard to board the bus and to get off with lots of help from other passengers . Your team did every thing right and I thank you for that . We get to the hotel and check in we we [... read more]re the last to do so .After we checked in got the keys we were sent to the 5 floor at the far end . This was very hard with a lot of extra walking and waiting for the elevators to come up and were small .Got to the room No water in the bar fridge was not worried about beer or pop just the water for Lorinda my wife .So off I go to the front desk to complain .It took 4 times to the front desk before we got the water. It was the help of the staff at buffet and manager there before we got results .I was ready after 48 hours to leave the hotel that is when we got help .Other wise we made lots of friends with staff and sum of the managers there they were very good and friendly . We found that the food was not the same as back in 2016 June when we first visit not as nice .We found that there was about 80% of the people were locals which was ok with us just a bit more a bit loud at times . We might go back in the new year but will do things difrent , We would fly West jet and stay at our time sharing apartment for a few days and book a stay at the RiU from the apartment at Coco Beach . Reason for this is that the locals pay about 35.00 US a night to stay there with all the trimmings that we enjoy . Any ways all good we made back home safe and thank you again Susan Danny & Lorinda Chin .

Riu Ocho Rios: Second thought.

I was expecting fresher fruits, you could see that at times oxidation on the fruits, changing colour.Meat not well seasoned at times. I think the hotel should have a policy where individuals dressed approriately (almost naked the day they were born)off beach.I wouldn't dear have my kids there. The staff were great; hard working, hospitable and friendly. The worst part was the night before I was so sick in my room 2 hrs after Wednesday night dinner, at first I thought I was poisoned because I  [... read more]remembered I left my soup unattended to get my food. I believed the red kidney beef soup I had was contaminated which deprived me of the night's sleep.

Riu Reggae: Always a good time in jamaica

We actually stayed at the riu palace which was right next to riu reggae and we could access and easily walk across. Overall it's a great complex, there was enough authentic jamaican food to enjoy. The service in general was really great. No issues when interacting with employees and they were very friendly and warm. The animation team was top notch; the best energy I've experienced. Lots of Americans, so the music is geared towards Americans. But still a descent variety.

Riu Guanacaste: Good place

The rooms are a bit outdated. the food isn't fancy but eatable, variety is not bad. the service is pretty good, everyone was very friendly. the beach is good we had no issues finding a place but the grounds are really great!

Riu Guanacaste: Beautiful resort!

Resort is spotless and grounds are lush and very well kept. Resort is huge so there’s a lot of walking - not a resort for people with mobility issues. Pictures don’t do this resort justice. Staff is friendly and issues are resolved promptly. Rooms are very clean but dated. Pool is massive and has lots of seats in it and there are lots of pool chairs. It takes a few minutes to walk to the beach but there is no beach bar or washrooms - you have to walk back to the pool area. Main buff [... read more]et restaurant had a huge selection for breakfast and dinner and so did the lunch buffet which was near the pool. Great to have a sports bar which was open 24hr to get an early coffee or snack. We were there during the rainy season (late September) and it usually rained in the late afternoon for about an hour. By then you were more than likely in your room getting ready for dinner. We would definitely go back as it’s a beautiful resort.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Our Second Home away from Home

We have becoming to the Riu Palace Riveria Maya since it opened and prior to that we were at the Riu Playcar. To help with how long we have been enjoying this wonderful second home we have been coming to the same resorts since 2002. What you can expect is everywhere you go the staff are friendly, make you laugh and spoil you. It is the staff that bring us back every year. Some of the staff are like family to us and we enjoy their company and their stories. You will also meet people from  [... read more]all over the world and some are also long time repeats to this same resort. You have access to all the other RIU Hotels which allows you to visit them possibly go golfing, enjoy their shows etc. I have been at other large resorts and they may be larger and they offer some additional entertainment but the other resorts food and their hospitality and cleanliness, has never met the standards of the Riu Palace Rivera. The staff from the time they greet you, to when you arrive in your room ,to the runners with your drinks, or the bartenders who cater to your every need, to the staff in the restaurants or to the housekeepers and the ground keepers you are treated with kindness and respect. The entertainment group try their best to get everyone involved with activities and having aqua therapy in the sea was absolutely a treat. Your staff within all the restaurants will go out of their way to make what ever you would like to eat and they are there to ensure you are having a good time and enjoying the food. The newer additional is very accessible if you are on the main floor. But so are the other rooms. My husband has some mobility issues and what he likes about this resort is that is not too large and he can walk to everything. There are elevators however my husband has managed to move around comfortably with his cane. There is an open area with a tub in the room which is often used more for collecting clothes but their walk in showers are amazing and have the rain shower head. The sea was absolutely stunning and yes sometimes it is difficult to get into the sea and to get it out of the sea due to the waves and the dips in the sand but once you are in it is so relaxing We will be returning next year to celebrate our 50th Anniversary and we cannot wait.

Riu Bambu: Party Resort!

If you’re not into parties stay away. App helps a lot, as you can order things you might need This resort also has lots of kids. Checkin in ok, rooms ok, usual Dominican open bathrooms, with water closet. TVs not working to good at first. Air cold or off, same with fan … both noisy as with drunk people returning from disco at early hours, Pool areas are not the cleanest, stained chairs, and stained beach towels… no cleaning going on that we could see other than the pool guys throw [... read more]ing pails of water from pool onto deck tiles. Pool Bathrooms are cleaned only 1 a day, late afternoon atrocious! The bars are great, and the bartenders will make you happy! No need for reservations other than the steakhouse which we did not partake in.. Also way too many smokers! Show as where as usual in resorts 1 week was enough

Riu Negril: Awsome resort

Everything about this resort is outstanding! Food is to die for! Grounds are beautiful and well kept up! Rooms are very clean and immaculate! The staff is very friendly and outgoing! I highly recommend this resort for sure!

Riu Palace Las Americas: Best Resort!

We had access to 4 different Riu resorts, the rooms were modern with excellent cooling and no humidity in the rooms. The hotel was spit clean. The beach was beautiful, private with nice sand and no weeds. Food was amazing and beverages were all high quality. The parties were incredible. All hotel staff were very friendly. I cannot name everyone who was helpful to us; but one person I name; big thanks to Carla who made our holiday more entertaining and pleasant.
