Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Great times!!

The food and service were fantastic. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, large and had beautiful views. Pool Was great, lots of activities available. Would definitely visit again.

Riu Guanacaste: Rude guests marred a beautiful trip

I just returned from a week stay at the Riu Guanacaste with my adult daughter. The rooms are adequate, clean - beds are a little hard, pillows a little small, but in all a comfortable stay. Air conditioning works great. There was construction outside of our window which wasn't too loud but did start pre 8 am. The meals were varied and well prepared. There is an outdoor restaurant which has signs posted in English and Spanish at every entrance advising patrons not to remove food from the restaurant. This did not stop some guests from bringing nachos or French fries or heaping plates of food to their poolside chairs then leaving half eaten plates for swarms of large birds to come pick at. Very annoying. I spoke twice to people about bringing food and watched an American couple of women be stopped by a waiter and told they could not take food out ("oh sorry")... who turned around and used another exit. Their children were equally ill behaved. I wish the hotel had removed their plates or asked them to leave the pool when they found such disregard. Thankfully there were no shortage of chairs around the pool, we always seemed to find room under a pergola for nice shade. That didn't stop one family from taking our table from between our chairs and sitting on one of our chairs when the spot they picked was short for the number in their party. Rude. The entertainment staff worked hard and the evening shows were good quality and entertaining. The weather was HOT and humid, the pool was only slightly refreshing as it was quite warm and not well cleaned (could feel sand along the bottom and find floating straws, bugs, leaves - more to do with the guests than the hotel). The beach is rustic and the water clean but not clear. There are no umbrellas at the beach just a few trees to find your shade under. Poolside was better. In all a relaxing vacation with a variety of services.

The Westin Reserva Conchal Golf Resort & Spa: Dream vacation

I don't have a single negative thing to write about the Westin Conchal. The resort is beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff is accommodating. We traveled in a group of six and all of us will be returning in the future

Riu Guanacaste: Great resort

Great resort. Everything was more than we expected. Rooms and pool and grounds . were well kept. Bars were well stocked and there was a big variety of food. The beach was not attractive. Your trip advisor Elizabeth was excellent.

Occidental Papagayo: Amazing Resort

Beautiful location! Service was excellent especially Jose-Maria who looked after us poolside and in the snack bar! Activities team was great. It was nice to have a fellow Canadian working there. Michael you are awesome. Everything was fantastic, the only thing I would say as a negative was all the stairs(which could be avoided) and check-in was confusing. Would definitely go back!!

Riu Guanacaste: Good resort

Nice resort, very clean, loved the room very spacious, room also had a nice sized balcony. The beach is nice, hardly anyone bothers you to buy stuff. Ocean was nice not rough at all. Staff very friendly. Good food.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Great service!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay for our honeymoon. The service was great and the resort was beautiful and secluded! Our honeymoon package included a massage at the spa which was divine. I'd definitely recommend this resort.

gorgeous and comfortable and high class. new resort, great bang for the buck. very comfy rooms and beds... great restaurants. super friendly and helpful staff. its a new resort ( less than a year ) so i hope it stays as nice as it is right now... the only thing that i can remember that needs improvement is the disco.. its really cool but the music is way too loud and the selection is not that great.. we had a super time.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: luxury and seevice at its best

Gorgeous hotel! Amazing gardens and pools! The service was top of the line. And the food is to die for! My only complaints are, the washrooms are very far from the beach or any pool. The disco at night you had to pay for your beverages, but the music and people and staff were amazing. An incredible place and experience! Would go again in a heartbeat!

Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Fit and Full

Food was fiine. They did try to mix things up but the flavour was sometimes off (Oriental night). Loved the spread of fruits. The room was comfortable but need upgrading and professional finishing. Not sure I like the set-up of the resort but it did leave up with strong legs from all that walking. Many thanks to the great shuttle drivers. Grounds are kept clean and service was great. Very helpful and friendly workers. would have enjoyed better wifi connection though.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Pura Vida!

We were first time visiting Costa Rica. Dreams Las Mareas resort exceeded all our expectations (we had a preferred club room in building #2 -- definitely recomended). Staff (housekeeping, restaurant, bar and entertainment) is friendly and knowledgable. Nicaragua trip was excellent. The food was great. We couldn't be happier with this resort and highly recommend it. We can't wait to go back.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Beautiful Place

My husband and I stayed at the Dreams Resort for our honeymoon and returned last Saturday. The resort and grounds are absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. The food in all restaurant's was to DIE for however the service needs to be worked on. There were several days that we returned to our room (around 3:00-5:00pm) and our room had still not been cleaned. Our fridge was rarely stocked with water and beverages. We had to call down a few times just to ask for water. Due to having a no reser [... read more]vation policy at the restaurant's also felt like a rush to eat. If you did not get there within the first hour you wouldn`t be eating until 8:30 or 9:00pm. Other then those small things our stay was lovely and we had an amazing vacation. The resort is breathtaking.

Riu Guanacaste: Quite nice

Hotel staff were nice and Fernando in the buffet was very accommodating and decorated the table multiple nights for our anniversary. I would definitely go back here in a heartbeat! Must book water sports in advance to avoid disappointment ! Squeezed a bunch in the last few days!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great resort

Clean,great food and service. Staff appreciated tips but I never felt it was expected or required. Beach was not like Cuba or Punta Cana but you could enjoy the ocean . Liked that they had a band playing before and after the shows.

The Westin Reserva Conchal Golf Resort & Spa: Great vacation

Very happy with the property, and the service was always friendly. Clean and large room, well maintained gardens and pool area. We are really well at all the a la carte restaurants, and waiters were helpful and courteous. The beach is nice and water is clear, but surf and vendors discouraged many from using it.

Riu Guanacaste: Would definitely go back!

The hotel and staff were amazing... for those that are a bit picky about food, the options available would certainly satisfy those as well. Very clean and beautiful resort. We really cant think of anything negative to say about it :-)

Riu Guanacaste: Riu Gaunacaste Costa Rica

went to the riu gaunacaste June 15th and have to say this resort was perfect. The resort was spotless ,pool and grounds very clean and the staff was amazing. This resort is situated perfect for people who love to sightsee. Almost all the tours were very close which I might say all the tours were 5star that were offered by the resort. Would definetly recommend to everyone.

Excellent Service, friendly staff, hardworking bartenders, delicious food, attention to detail at the a la carte restaurants, great evening entertainment, lots of activities to keep you busy all day, beautiful well manicured property, and the pools were amazing!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing resort

The Riu Palace in Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever seen with amazing upkeep of the grounds and set up of the different pools to accommodate your every need and activities. The beach is well kept, cleaned often even though the sand is dark. I liked the awning for shade as it was hot. Beautiful decorated rooms with massive beds. There was certainly no shortage of foods and drinks throughout the whole complex. The people were beautiful and really made my holiday.

Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Amazing vacation*

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff. The food was enjoyable. I loved all the monkeys and other wildlife located right on the resort. It's a little secluded but we rented a car and traveled lots. The weather was gorgeous the whole trip and I got amazing cheap massages right on our beach. I enjoyed the boat ride that was included to a private beach. I had an overall amazing weekend would definitely suggest this hotel to friends and family. Thanks for your hospitality.
