The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great resort

Was our second time here and enjoyed it once again. Great staff. Maybe not the best resort for someone with mobility issues because there are lots of stairs, but there are shuttles and the exercise works off the buffet calories! Well maintained resort and a great place for a winter holiday.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful location great food

This hotel is perched on a cliff with a great view of the water. The food at the Buffet was very good ( no mimosa at breakfast however) The seafood restaurant wasn't very good but the gourmet one was so special. Thankyou to Claudio for making that night so much fun.We had no problems with reservations. The beach is lovely the water temperature was 31' lovely. Snorkeling under the bridge was best. The towel game is in fact only done for shade there are lots of chairs. Rooms was great but bed was  [... read more]really hard and the pillows ridiculously small for a king size bed.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Best resort

This was our 3rd time staying at this resort. We hadn't been in three years and they had made improvements to the Internet which was excellent. Could use in the room and around the pool if needed.. It was out 20th anniversary and on our special daythe resort went above and beyond to make it an amazing day with candles,rose petals and an amazing warm essential oil bath what else could you ask for.. Even though the resort was full there is you never felt like you were in a crowd that's what I like. Very quite as well.. Overall I recommend this resort to anyone wanting a relaxed peaceful holiday..

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Not great!! Not horrible!...but not great!!

Our trip to Grand Paradise was ok (at best)!! The flight was great both ways, weather was beautiful and warm, nice to get away and relax for the week, our room was clean and large on 3rd floor with balcony facing the ocean...lovely! The resort, in general, was very mediocre...food was not good and a LOT of people had gastro issues (including ourselves)...another couple we met were quite ill for most of the week, service was not good at reception or the buffet or some shifts at the bars. The Euro [... read more]pean travellers were the rudest I have ever experienced (not that that is the resort's fault)!! It wasn't completely horrible and we did have a good week as we are very low-maintenance type people...however...I would not return to this resort nor would I recommend it to others.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great deal!

Folks working the resort were nothing short of WONDERFUL. We hung out at the different pools (from active to quiet) as well as visited the beach area. Food was very good at the three ala cartes whereas the buffet (as far as buffets go) was excellent. Grouper every day in every way! Rooms were fine and comfortable but definitely request the section looking over the pools and water vs just the water. Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Quiet and Relaxing Stay

This resort is a nice size - not too big and not too small. Restaurants were nice, good selection and quality of food. Rooms were spacious, clean and close to everything. Plenty of seating areas to relax in the lobby and around the courtyards. Pool area is small and seating very limited. Beach was nice soft sand, great for snorkeling and walking, lots of shade, chairs hard to find. Piano bar/Lobby entertainment was good. Resort entertainment/nightly shows were poor - setting in Pueblo Principe s [... read more]quare not ideal. The Theatre was not used once during our week stay?

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful, well run resort

nicely landscaped, surrounded by lush greenery and flowers. Well appointed public areas, easy to get around. Rooms are comfortable with balcony and sea view. Dining was exceptional, plenty of seafood, a good choice of everything, you certainly don't go hungry. Staff is very outgoing and helpful, always smiling. Close to town and yet away from all the hustle and bustle, situated on a hill, surrounded by beauty.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great seclusion!

The grounds are impeccable. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. There is food for most here, even though I did experience an MSG attack from our late night snack when we first arrived. After that, I stuck to restaurants, room service and the beach buffet and was totally fine. They nicely posted each event they were hosting each day down by the beach which was nice if you wanted. Our only bad experience was with the sales people for the privilege club. But you don't have to sit down with anyone of you don't want to. If you are truly interested (as we were) then be prepared for a long meeting and for old sales tactics. Avoid the set-up meeting if this doesn't interest you.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Scenic location

Loved the lush, tropical landscape and the scenic views. It was great having our room face the bay and to hear the waves on the shore. The amount of stairs did get tiresome after a while, but thankful the trolleys were frequent and accessible.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Paradise setting!

My recent vacation to this resort, with my husband, was our third time here. The resort itself is idyllic in its setting. Beautiful well maintained grounds, pleasant staff, quite and peaceful. The only negative about this resort is the food should be improved. Even the a la carte food is slipping (especially the deserts),

Wyndham Alltra Samana: The good and the bad

We spend 2 weeks in Grand Paradiso Smana. The food with the exception of fish was good and the table service was excellent. It would not hurt to purchase additional coffee cups, so by arriving later we are not forced to drink our coffee out of soup bowels. We were staying in unit #6 and here is the negative side. To blend in with the environment the roof over the hallway on the third floor was covered with palm leafs. Absolutely avoidable if the roof was replaced in time. Would I go back? YES but I would inspect the roof first

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Great Holiday Vacation

Well maintained resort, clean, good food with a fair variety of options on the menu, friendly staff enjoyed making friends with the photographers, entertainment crew and bar staff, beaches cleaned everyday. Since Resort is on its own Bay, enjoyed the fact that there was little outside intrusion. Great for a relaxing week... ocean is wonderful to swim in at anytime.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful beach!!!

The resort is situated on what seems to be a never ending beach. Lots of palapas & trees when you need to get out of the sun, lounges always available and drinks not far away at the beach & pool bars. The resort is clean and well maintained. Staff are gracious, attentive & friendly, although I sense a change of management from last year...perhaps fewer staff available in the dining room and sometimes stretched a little thin?? Anyway this was our second visit, and we were a little disappointed that we weren't informed of the construction going on at the former beach bar/snack bar. (It seems that Bahia is painting everything white too which makes even a casual bar/snack bar look a little too formal for me). From early morning til evening there was plenty of construction noise at the "quiet" beach and since our room was nearby we had to endure it whenever we were on our balcony. Too much like being in the city! On good days, snorkelling among the reefs off shore is wonderful! Although when the water isn't clear your can bump into the reefs before you know they're there...so be careful.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Problems with sevice.

This was our second stay at this hotel.Last year we were very impressed with perfect service.The grounds and beach are very beautiful.But this time the hotel was overcrowded and administration seemed to have a hard time coping. At arrival the room assigned to us was already occupied when arriving late at night.This resulted in a frantic search for another room,which we found inferior. We had to beg and plead the following day for other accommodation and were finally able to move mid afternoon,lo [... read more]osing part of the enjoyment of our first vacation day. We had to ask for towels in our room several times and one night and part of a day we had no running water.Toilette could not be flushed. House phones did not work either. We were very disappointed.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great Resort

We just returned from a great week at the Gran Bahia Principe Cayacoa. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms and ground were immaculate. The food was excellent, we tried all 3 a la carts which were great. The buffet had lots of selection so it was easy for everyone to find something they liked. The entertainment and bartenders were a lot of fun which made our vacation really enjoyable. Dario, Alex, Fernando and Carlos were the best.

Great staff, good food. Very clean and comfortable. The beach was lovely but small. Could use a snack bar on the beach. Show at night were great. Would go back again. Loved the Samana area. The ziplining was a great day trip.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Paradise

First time visit to this resort and have nothing but good things to say about our trip. The location is perfect, the hotel is fantastic, food and cocktails are amazing but the service is outstanding. Pure paradise for anyone who is looking for luxurious and peaceful retreat.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful beach

I went to this hotel with 2 of my adults daughters as we were looking for a week of rest and relaxation: the objective was attained ! The property is very clean and the beach is easily accessible. We took a long walk one day and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was fine and I would recommend the Orquidea.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado is wonderful

The grounds are extremely well kept and nicely done. The rooms were large, very clean, well appointed. Butler service was good and helped to get what you wanted. Staff was very attentive. Food was great with a large variety. A lot of vegetarian as well. Excellent beaches and pools. No problem getting lounge chairs at beach or pool. All round an excellent place to relax and be pampered.
