Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: BLUEBAY GRAND ESMERALDA

I been traveling F for the last 20 years never ever have I seen such a bad beach, murky water, rocks at the bottom, full of jelly fish and sand bags on the beach and in the water which you can not see so your will trip over. People at the resort are nice, friendly but when it comes to service is slow but you are on vacation. If you like to enjoy a cup of fresh coffee you will not have that there all the coffee comes from the press button machine all in one. If you like to enjoy that "fresh" coff [... read more]ee outside the bad there is not enough space to sit outside. Snack bar is on the poor side like other resorts you place your order and food is made fresh there food is sitting under the lights. It's big resort you can walk and enjoy the grounds which is really nicely kept and look at the animals very few iguanas but sill your can see. there was some rain so the water is standing in the ditches so there is bad smell in some areas just hope is not in your area. Every night there fumigate the area did not experiences too many mosquitos. Entertainment is average but the circus show was nice. Every Tuesday is Mexican night so there are vendors if you like to overpay at least 4 times for jewelry you can buy there or the resort shop.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort

Very clean, beautiful landscaping. Two pools with plenty of staff getting drinks for us. Lots of great food with a large variety. Only issue was being invited for a special breakfast that waisted three hours of our morning trying to sell us a membership.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Peace, privacy, perfection!

This is one our favourite resorts. WE just returned from our 4th visit to the Sian Ka'an. The staff is excellent, the food delicious and the rooms are perfect for us. What we appreciate it the peace. Our room was close to the sushi bar on the top floor. Our balcony was in the trees, and we could see the birds, geckoes, ..... and nothing but jungle, yet we were close to the pool, restaurants and lobby. Totally private, very quiet. It is hard to find a resort that caters to our needs and this one  [... read more]does that well. The mini bar was stocked each day and included whisky, rum, vodka, soft drinks, and chips. We worked out each day at the Tao Centre. All the weights and machines are well looked after and work well. While you work out in an air conditioned, glass room you are surrounded with the jungle. One day I say a fox with her cub. They have yoga and mediation here but I woke too late to join them. (The classes are at 9:00 in the morning.) The Tao Centre is a pleasant 15 minute walk from our room. The service and food in the buffet is so good we did not eat else where.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Stunning Resort with FANTASTIC staff

Great resort. My only complaint is as follows: I am from Canada and when in Mexico ONLY short pants are allowed so therefore I did not enjoy the evening dinners because I HAD TO WEAR LONG PANTS!!!!!!! I wore $15 long pants and I had 2 pairs of Bermuda shorts worth $25 each, at least just sitting in my bag. Great food.

Grand Sunset Princess: Truly a wonderful experience.....

This vacation met all of our expectations. A true value for the money. Amazing resort with the staff so very friendly. Very large resort with lots of options to change up the pace of your stay. The meals were very good with lots of healthy options.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great

This resort was great. Food was superb. 3 delicious buffets and plenty of a la cartes. Make sure to book your a la carte restaurants when you arrive to ensure you get a reservation as they fill up fast. The beach is very rocky, but still nice. The pools are nice and the trails on the resort were fun to explore. There are mosquitoes so bring bug spray or use the insect repellent supplied. Night time entertainment was good. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Valentin Imperial Maya - Excellent Resort

We recently returned from the Valentin. Building 2 was perfect for us. It was close to the pool. The pool was large but had plenty of stairs at different locations around the pool. There were flotties in the pool which could be used to sit on, lay on or hold your drinks. There was 2 swim-up bars as well as bars on the pool deck and staff taking orders. We found the Italian, Mexican and the Steak House at the Beach to be the best suited to our tastes. The service at the restaurants was excellent. [... read more] If you needed a ride a golf cart would pick you up or drop you off. The room was large and the king size bed comfortable. Having wi-fi in the room was great. The ocean was too ruff to use.

Grand Sunset Princess: Great for weddings!

Everything was wonderful ! Great people , amazing service! No real complaints . Only recommendation would be to make sure you wear something on your feet while walking the grounds , floors can be slippery when it rains .

Great experience, the staff are amazing and very friendly. The resort was absolutely beautiful, the pool and beach are beautiful. The only complaint I have would be the floors can be very slippery especially with bare feet. They do have signs everywhere to wear sandles which is very necessary. I recommend not wear heels at any time. We had our wedding there and it was a perfect day and they were very accommodating. I will definitely recommend this resort to family and friends

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: awesome resort!

We loved the size of the resort, ground, staff, food and dolphins were great :-) The nighttime shows were great as well. An excellent resort for children too! It was a nice resort to snorkel, the beach area was small, easy to watch children.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort but get ready to be gouged

I've been to this resort 4 times and this is by far the worst that I have ever seen it! So I book an annual golf trip with some friends ever November and Grand Bhia Coba has been our go to place for 4 out if the last 5 years. It's well kept with friendly staff and if you don't want to leave the resort there is lots to do as it is on a large sprawl of land. This much has not changed! We booked this resort for the unlimited all inclusive golf that it offers. When we arrived we were told that because it was our 4th visit that we were upgraded to a premium club at no charge. Great one may think! But when we got to our room it was the same as before but now only one bed! After spending about two hours at the registration desk they finally sorted it out and were able to relocate us to a room with two beds. We were supposed to get upgrades which we never received and a different colour band that gave us more perks! This never happened as they ran out of bands and on several occasions we were told 'well you really don't get anything more' however one of our group members was able to get his and did get more perks but we could live without those little extras. This hotel also offers free Wifi. Great but wait for it... It's one hour per day using their slowest network and the timer for that hour doesn't stop once you begin your session. You'll have to wait till the next day or purchase additional time which is not cheap at $8 USD/hour or $14/day or $70/week. We opted for the weekly cost and split it amongst the group only to learn that it's for one device when we tried to login. On to golf; we knew that we would just pay the cart fees and golf as we normally did however we did not anticipate the $115 USD per person cart fee! Up from $65 USD the prior year (the first year it was $35 USD and had risen by $5 annually). We spoke to the new manager of the golf course to see if he would be able to get us a better rate as we were staying at the resort and we would be playing four rounds! This guy was the most pompous arrogant person that we met there in 5 years and didn't care that the prior year we had booked a group of 28 golfers for a tournament. We told him that we've been golfing here for the past 5 years and he said that he's been managing there for a year and that's the cost because we have to pay the green fees. After explaining that we are with the resort and booked the all inclusive golf package he stated that they are not affiliated with the resort and we have to pay for the green fees too and that's why the price is so high. Even the ladies at the club house remembered us and told us that he will go out of his way to not help anyone! They were right and in speaking to the caddies they all said that it would be cheaper for us to travel to the nearest resort and pay $35 for the course. $100 if you needed clubs and cart rentals with you're greens fee. We didn't but paid the cart fees for all rounds. At the resort the next day one of the sales people told us that if we went on a tour about joining the premium club he would give us our cart fees for free! I asked how could that be possible and he stated that the golf course is owned by the resort and they can comp anything! Apparently he never met the manage of the golf course. At the end the resort is great but the management team there is clueless especially the ones who deal with their guests at reception. They are unwilling to do much to help you and the entire resort is now built to try to gouge you for every penny while you stay with them! The golf course remains one of the best I've played but the new manager is quite possibly the worst representative they could have! It's sad when the people who work for you tells the guests not to speak to him because he's not a nice person and the caddies try to get you better pricing at other courses. Thanks Grand Bahia Coba for the past 5 years but my friend and I will not be returning... It was fun while it lasted!

Grand Sunset Princess: Amazing resort

Service was undeniably a+. Everyone was incredibly helpful and extremely kind. The Sunwing reps were there when ever you needed and able to direct us to exactly the type of adventures we wanted to experience. As well as just helping to get the right driver for a day trip. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. There is some construction next door to the resort but they will accommodate a move to a room away from the noise if you request it, no questions asked.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing resort!!!

This was a great resort!. Friendly staff, nice clean rooms and beautiful grounds. The restaurants were nice, our favorites were seafood and oriental. It was nice to be so close to the attractions like Xcarat. Would go back for sure! Our vacation was unforgettable!!! Thank you everybody!!!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Overall good resort

What was good: - beach and sea - corals, lots of fish and other sea creatures, great snorkeling - pools - clean, pool bars, bufet restaurants nearby main pools - food - variety and quality (seafood, meats, sweets, vegetabls, not too many different fruits though) - location - close to Tulum, many cenotes and some parks, you can easily take collectivo, bus or taxi to nearby places Not so good: - people are allowed to smoke virtually everywhere (and many do), even in places that supposedly smoke f [... read more]ree, but no enforcement, so nobody cared - service could be better: personnel (e,g, weiters) expect tips everytime they serve you; if you do not tip, they can ignore you next time even if you ask them for something (but I heard the situation is much worse in many other resorts, so it is probably typical for Mexico) - rooms were spacious and clean, but there was a prooblem with air conditioner: hard to adjust, sometimes too cool, sometimes too warm, never maintaied the needed temperature - animation and shows weren't that much intertaining

Grand Riviera Princess: very disappointed

The hotel itself is nice. Entertainment was good. Aside from that it was a terrible experience. A lot of the staff look angry all the time. The rooms are ok. The food was terrible, the buffet was the same pretty much all week. The food was always cold including the alacarts. I did not enjoy even 1 good meal. Trolly service only operates on one side of the hotel or the other. They do not cross over so you have to always walk from one side of the resort to the other. I seen at least 30 people wipe out on the slippery surfaces throughout the entire resort including my wife. Some were injured pretty badly. The whole air canada rouge was a disappointment. So you know. When your booking it all says air canada. Once you book it shows it is actually air canada rouge. The bar service varied you get drinks in one spot that they cannot make in another. The smell going down by the beach is absalutley disgusting. This was my fifth trip second to mexico. I would not return to the grand princess ever. I stayed at grand sirenis last year and that resort i booked through transat holidays was absalutley fantastic. I would highly recommend grand sirenis to anyone. I did not talk to anyone at the princess who enjoyed their stay and i could not wait for my week to be over so i could get out of this resort. Buyer beware you do not get what you pay for at this reaort. I will be sticking wit transat holiday in the future and will never consider another air canada holiday.

This was our first trip to Mexico and it surpassed our expectations! Service and staff were wonderful, rooms and resort were clean and beautiful. Food at buffet was decent, better at the restaurants. Trolly rides to get to beach and to Tulum were short and no big deal

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Lovely place

We felt the place was well kept, the grounds were beautiful, we loved how we could sit on our balcony and see a distance instead of having foliage in the way. The pool area was great and we appreciated the job that was done to keep the beach clean. The restaurants were great! Evening entertainment was good. Only negative comment was that we were told men needed to were pants and many of them were wearing shorts, even jean shorts and a cap on their head when this was suppose to be a a la cart res [... read more]taurant and others were dressing up. This hotel is lovely. Very clean. It is the size of a small town. You have to travel by golf carts to your destination. Food is excellent. Service is slow sometimes but that's probably due to the large amount of guests. The grounds are always clean and the rooms are large and comfortable. I would t go back due to the size of this resort.
