Cayo Levantado Resort: We had a great time!

We had a great time at this resort! As we read in many reviews it is not a "party" resort, if you truly want to relax by the beach then this is the place to go. Our room was fantastic and huge. The resort is very clean and well maintained. The food is good and the beach is fantastic. There were shows almost every night out on the patio that were very interesting to watch. Our only complaints were that when we arrived at the mainland resort we had to wait in line to receive resort armbands and th [... read more]en we took a boat to the island to wait in another line to find out our room was not ready and we could not book any dinner reservations until we checked into our room. After 2 hours at the resort our room was finally ready but now all the dinner reservations were booked. We expressed our concerns to our butler and by day 2 he had reservations for us. The other thing that we noticed was that if you do not speak Spanish, not many hotel staff interact with you, on the other hand some tried really hard to interact in English. We stayed away from the public beach as we found the sales people very pushy. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and had a very relaxing week.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort

The resort was fantastic. It's not too big, not too small. The waterpark for kids is great. The staff is friendly. The food is good and plentiful. The rooms are nice. Daily and nightly entertainment is great. I recommend this place for sure. The beach is beautiful but there are rocky areas in the water. The pool is not very big and there is no pool bar. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Very Mixed Emotions

This resort had many good things but many bad as well. I write this review with mixed emotions as we had a good vacation but there were just too many things that need improvement and so we will not go back to this resort or Royalton again. I give our trip a 2 out of 5 and that's generous. I will break down the good and the bad: Good: Food was fantastic, as was the wine however not enough choice of restaurants so had to keep going back to same ones over and over. Queen show on Monday night was spectacular but the rest of the week was just a dance techo party and quite frankly by end of week we were sick of the boom boom boom day and night. They need to so more shows like the Queen show or a good band in the evening or something besides a dance party. Nothing to do in evening if you didn't like that. BBQ at pool very good but the little bistro at the pool was horrible. Not much seating, unorganized, our orders were never correct and they ran out of things constantly. The rooms were nice but if you don't want to listen to boom boom boom till early hours of morning then don't stay in diamond club. Bad: Techno music day and night, the septic system was horrendous!! No paper can be placed in the toilets have to go in garbage cans which is disgusting and the toilets often didn't flush so they were gross and disgusting. The pool is not cleaned daily and tons of sand in pool. This is part due to the fact that they do not have a foot wash at the entrance to go to the beach. People washing feel in pool because of it. The one they do have is off beaten path and foot wash doesn't work! The so called "sports guarantee" is a load of crap unless you want to go sit in an empty, musty strip club to watch a game. Stripper poles and couches and dance floor....not a sports bar!!! And now to the DEAL BREAKER!!! One morning we had come out from breakfast to our seats around the pool and watch security come by at 9am and start shoving everyones' towels, beach bags, phones, shoes, books any personal belongings into clear garbage bags and I mean SHOVING IT IN in no order of any kind. At this time of the morning, many people had come down put their stuff at a chair and went in for breakfast. They have a sign up stating no saving chairs for more then 30 mins. Well they have no way of policing that and many people came back after 10 mins to find their stuff gone. Oh many of us had words with hotel management who were only concerned that we keep out voices down. Peoples stuff was in a room near the lobby in a bunch of garbage bags now mixed in with everyone's stuff. So who's to say someone comes for their stuff and takes someone else's stuff. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND HAS NEVER HAPPENED ANYWHERE WE'VE TRAVELLED. I will never go back to Royalton resorts again due to this!!! A resort cannot police people saving seats. If you want to do that then you come out much earlier and leave a note and if 30 minutes later still not there then you put stuff in a bag on it own with a number or find better way to do this. However, in my opinion you have people out by the pool and if people come down to save a seat they tell them to be back in 30 minutes. That day we were at our seats and were about to go for a walk on the beach which at 9am I should be able to do, but couldn't because they were taking peoples stuff. I do not think they were ready for the enslaught of angry guests. First day we were there our mini bar/fridge was filled and we tipped. We left a tip in the fridge each day with a note for beer or soda water to be replenished and they took the tip but left nothing. AGAIN.....DEAL BREAKER FOR A 5 STAR RESORT. Diamond club section of the beach is ridiculous. Its right beside the other resort with tons of kids. Diamond club is a joke at this resort. Not worth a penny more. then regular area. Language barrier huge in this resort. We would ask for simple things, ie napkins and all we ever got was yes right away and never got what we asked for. This resort has a lot of good things but need to improve on the fine details in many areas to make it a great resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Beautiful View

If you are looking to sit on the beach or by the pool for your vacation then this is the spot for you. Rooms were very nice and spacious and bed is comfortable. The view of the ocean is amazing, probably my favourite aspect of the resort. Nothing like sitting eating breakfast with the breeze and looking out over the ocean. Staff is a mixed review; either extremely nice or you felt like you were bothering them. Food was very good and a big selection at the buffet. Found it odd for an all in [... read more]clusive that if you wanted anything other than the house wine you would be charged. The beach was nice but very small. There is a beach bar but no chair service. Didn't spend anytime at the pool, always at the beach! A lot of stairs so for people with mobility issues this is not your resort. One thing I really missed was being able to walk around the resort or on the beach. Beach you can walk in about 5 minutes and if you walk around the resort it's all stairs or you are walking through people eating their dinners.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Amazing vacation!

This hotel was the perfect place to get away. The hotel was clean and staff were all friendly. Big shout out to ABEL at the beach bar, he was wonderful. The resort is smaller than what we have been to previously but were pleasantly surprised because you don't need carts to bring you from one place to another. The food was great, the beach was clean and the water not the typical turquois but was a green but clean and could see to the bottom. We would definitely go back to this resort.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Our first time to Dominican Republic

Over all review is that we enjoyed our stay. The weather was fabulous and the beach was perfect. We spent the majority of our stay on the beach. The sand was so soft and walkable even during peak hours of heat. We loved the Ma Loo smoothy booth on the beach that has very good non alcoholic beverages. The location of the lunch buffet was nice and close to the beach. We did not appreciate the overly pushy sales ppl selling local products in the square area past the lobby on our way to dinner [... read more] and back to our rooms. We enjoyed the nightly live music after dinner. We were very impressed with the number of languages that most staff could communicate in and left the French population of patrons received preferential treatment. We made a few connections with a few staff that we relied on that made our stay more enjoyable. The wifi was inconsistent at times. Upon arrival we requested a room upgrade which made our stay much more comfortable. I would suggest bringing a small power bar for the room since we didn’t have enough accessible outlets in our room. The resort was kept very clean but the water pressure was sometimes very poor, but i guess that’s to be expected at peak times. The a la cart dinner options were perfect, I suggest you bring a jacket or some type of cover because the air conditioning could be high and can take away from the experience. Over all though it was a decent hotel for sure

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Won’t teturn.

Spent 10 days at luxury Bahia principe Esmeralda. Grounds are pretty and well taken care of. Rooms are clean and spacious, although we did have a ceiling leak the fourth day in but it was resolved fairly quickly. The wait staff and cleaning staff, pool bar staff are fantastic ,incredibly friendly and if you can get past the language barrrier they are very accommodating. Management is poor to say the least we had some serious heavy construction 3’days into our vaykay going on across at the neig [... read more]hboring resort. We couldn’t sit on the balcony because of the dust and the noise ...we brought this to management and asked to change our rooms ...they informed us that the hotel was overbooked and that wouldn’t be possibly. We decided to try to get past it , however what ruined our vacation was having to get up at 5 am to get a cabana or umbrella by the pool it was absolutely impossible to get on the beach and we didn’t get to spend one day sitting by the ocean..which is why we chose Esmeralda as it had a beautiful beach, although I did read the reviews prior to booking and all visitors to this hotel in the past year have complained about the same. It’s is clear that managemt isn’t concerned , although they do tell you they are checking into it...they DO NOT. my travel agent assured me this was not the case as the reviews were from busy season and we were travelling in off season...not the case it seems. I feel incredibly disappointed with trip central and the agent who dismissed my concerns pretravel. I will most definitely be returning to Punta Cana in October ....but I will not use Trip Central , nor will I be staying at Esmeralda. If you are planning to stay here please make sure they are done the construction on the neighboring hotel and check with agent about how booked....or overbooked in our case the hotel is.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Very Good and Clean hotel

The hotel was very clean, modern (usb plugs in the rooms), and the grounds and lands were well maintained.Beautiful peacocks were roaming around. The room was a bit small for a family of 5. Bathrooms were clean all over the hotel. Loved the kid friendly pool and the easy access to the beach. Waterslides are a nice option. We did not bother with the casino or stay up late for the shows. The animation team was fun. Good restaurants, good food, good service. Crowded due to closure of on [... read more]e side of the hotel. Concierge service was not the best. They are under pressure to get guests to show up for the "membership club meeting" which was a waste of time and not great pricing.

Excellence Punta Cana: Amazing Stay!

From start to finish we had a fabulous vacation! The service, food, cleanliness and location were all superb! We would highly recommend this resort! We never had to wait for seating at the a la cartes and there were plenty of lounge chairs and huts available. Excellence Club is worth the money. The spa was fabulous!

Secrets Royal Beach: Good resort

Had some minor issues which were resolved fairly quickly. The staff was amazing! Food was fantastic. We paid for a romantic dinner on the beach which in the brochure and pictures in their elevators shows you have a private cabana. You do not, you are at a small table right on the beach. Other than that, everything was great.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Beautiful resort

The hotel, grounds, pools, food, beach, restaurants were absolutely amazing. The staff was there to help and ensure your trip was perfect in every aspect. Great nightly entertainment which was well orchestrated and very entertaining. This resort has thought of it all. Beautiful beaches with lots of seats, service and amazing atmosphere.

Occidental Punta Cana: Occidental Punta Cana 2018

A great time at the Occidental Punta Cana. The main Lobby bar was excellent with Nordy and Williams taking care of us and Francisco and Edwin amongst others were great at the beach. The ladies cleaning the washrooms at the beach (unfortunately I didn’t catch there names) were wonderful. My wife couldn’t say more about their friendliness and general pleasantness every time she went there.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: 4 night stay, 4 different rooms

The grounds were beautiful, the beach was amazing, and the staff on the grounds were friendly. In contrast, the front desk staff was terrible. We learned that "we will be there in 5 minutes" translates to: "wait for an hour and then you will have to call again". Malfunctions with the air freshener in our room kept us awake until 2am while staff ineffectually tried to fix it. Unfortunately for us, terrible service from the front desk and substandard hotel rooms resulted in our desire to never re [... read more]turn to this particular resort.

IFA Villas Bavaro Beach Resorts: Super Resort

We thought the resort was amazing, food good, entertainment good, staff and sunwing personnel great, rooms were amazing, my only complaint was not enough shade around the pools and beach, buffet was always busy but food was always replenished at all times, speciallty restaurants good,

This facility exceeded all our expectations in every area. Would not think twice about going there again. The beach was beautiful, food was phenomenal and room and total facility was clean and certainly a 5 star plus. There are great seating areas for those who want to be outside but not in sun. All the people there are so accommodating and friendly going over and above.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: An amazing experience

We were apprehensive about our trip as we had been reading reviews daily and there seemed to be so many issues. We arrived March 23 via Sunwing and has ZERO issues. Angelo met us immediately with a big smile and checked us into diamond club. Our butler, Andy B. met us in the lobby and gave us an informative tour to our building. He greeted us with smiles and high fives and offered to go out of his way to get us whatever we needed or wanted. We would totally recommend Andy’s services to anyone. We enjoyed breakfast every morning at Oceanside. We were greeted by a friendly, smiling Linette and she always made sure to say goodbye to us as well. We enjoyed our time there especially with waiters Kelvin, Delvyn and Carlos. The food was great and we had custom omelettes every morning. We met many amazing people and unfortunately do not remember all the names, but from bartenders to housekeeping, lifeguards to bellhops, security to butlers...this place was great! I would like to also do a shoutout to the lifeguards at Flowrider. I am not joking when I saw my son spent everyday from open to close at this machine. He had special handshakes with all the staff, they all knew him by name, had jokes with him and made his whole trip. Thank you Alin, Edison, Christopher, William, Fernando and Kendri. The pools were not cold, our room did not smell, the food was hot, the drinks were cold and we will DEFINITELY be back to this Royalton. An amazing experience we will never forget.

Punta Cana Princess: EXCELLENT RESORT

The Punta Cana Princess resort was exactly what we were looking for. Small and easily accessible to all venues, beach, dining etc.etc. Rooms were clean and well equipped and the food was excellent. Be reminded that you are in a different country with different values, different cooking methods etc.etc.THREE individual at the Resort, two for Client services and one server offrered an EXCELLENT Service. The resort was very green. The buffet food was very good and lots to pick from. The beach was very clean. The snorkeling was great. The rooms were very clean. The staff were very friendly It was definitely a 4 1/2 star.

This resort was very clean and service was impeccable Beach was cleaned up from sea grass every morning Al a cart restaurants didn’t require reservations and was very fast service Suggest security to keep beach vendors from coming up to guests on beach and constantly harassing to buy product

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Request for comments

The experience was great starting with Melissa Alexander at Trip Central. The property was all we expected. The staff were the best part. Miguel Cedeno at our building 80 room 104 was extremely helpful, especially with my Spanish lessons. Would love to experience the country outside the wire.
