Excellence Riviera Cancun: first class all the way

The food was exceptional. Many great restaurants to choose from and no reservations needed. The hotel was clean with top notch service. They provide every comfort you can possibly want. My only complaint would be about the beach. Much sea weed is tossed on the shore by the waves. A tractor drives up and down the beach all day, hauling away the sea weed. The tractor is loud and smells of diesel, and is very annoying. There is a lazy river and the hotel provides many mats to float along its path.  [... read more]Many activities are available, such as kayaking, beach volleyball, food and drink preparation lessons, dance lessons, etc. You can be as busy or as lazy as you like. For the most part, this is a resort of those who like a tranquil experience. The few hard-party hounds we saw were the exception. The evening shows were good for the most part, especially the singers in the square in the early evening. We have visited this resort three times and have never been disappointed. The guests seemed to be mostly a mix of British, Americans and Canadians.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Relaxing Beautiful clean resort!!

The grounds are immaculate always being maintained and improved. The beach is beautiful white sand, sea weed is cleaned from swimming areas daily, beach chairs always available. Loved the pools especially the infinity pool fantastic!! Service was good but you needed to tip as always to ensure you received good service. Food was consistently good! Went with my husband for anniversary, enjoyed trip thoroughly!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Azul Fives is really really good

We travel in 4 or 5 star hotels every year. We search for good food, good wine and good service. Azul Fives offers all of these. Certainely in our top 3 hôtels in the Caribbean. We rated 4, but really it's a 4.5. Would highly recommend this hotel to all. One little down side, be prepared for loud wedding parties. This place is great for kids and weddings but some customers get carried away and get quite loud around the pool and in bars at night. Didn't bother us though. Just a friendly warning.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great resort

This resort has excellent a la carte restaurants (steaks and duck are amazing). You only have to book 2 of the restaurants Japanese and Seafood. The buffet is also super. There were 10 different jugs of freshly squeezed combination fruits every morning and they never run out. They also offered a BBQ night on the beach with folks playing the bongos which was nice. They have people zip-lining onto stage, ac [... read more]robats, pole dancers, fire show, trapeze girls, ballet, tap dancers of a very high quality! Don't miss the Rock Forever show. From 8-9 is the kiddy show, 9-10 there is a show at the Colonial, then you can jump on the train and make the 10:15-11:15 show at the Riviera resort, come back to the Colonial for a 3 piece live band playing in the open air lobby. Pool activities were also fun - drinking contest, big ball you can get in for the pool, aerobics, volleyball, etc. They've redone the sports bar so that looks great and the air-con is nice. One of the resorts (5 in total) also offers a Disco. We like a large resort as you have lots to explore. They also have a 'ocean salt water' pool which is cool. I snorkeled in here as the small fish can get in past the bolders. There is also good snorkeling available at the resort - I found a small coral reef straight out from one of the flag poles. It's like being in the jungle at this resort with all the lush trees/plants/wildlife. Very well maintained resort. A few rocks in the swim area and a little dip when you first get in the ocean so be careful.

honestly this was the best one out of 9 all inclusive I've done. Food was awesome(only thing is sometimes they would close for weddings and not tell us) but everything was 100% top notch!Very happy to upgrade our rooms when asked. 24 hour room service was amazing! pools were clean, beach was awesome. Accommodating to our wedding party.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Wonderful Time had by All

Sandos Playacar is a wonderful resort, all staff very professional and respect full. A no pressure shopping resort, food was excellent never had a bad meals had different cuisine each night. I attended a destination wedding that was fabulous. Definety would recommend this resort for total relaxation.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fabulous Resort!

This was our first trip to a resort and we are hooked! The place was beautiful! The food was amazing especially the a la carte restaurants! We were thrilled to be able to visit the other Bahia Principe Resorts near ours. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Although the weather was rainy for part of our stay, we still had the best time!

Oasis Tulum: Staff set this resort apart from all other resorts

Have to say very disappointed with Sunwing on this vacation. Everything pictured, or promised through Sunwing was images from a sister resort. The rooms were adequate at best. But the staff made up for any disappointments we had with Sunwing. Very friendly, and all staff would drop everything just to help out. Even had a couple servers offer dinners at their homes with their families. Super cool. Entertainment at resort was lacking, unless ur into pool yoga. And the amount of screaming children  [... read more]running around was not enjoyable. Would definitely go back to area, just not this resort. Also have to say Jill from Trip Central (Sarnia)was a delight to deal with. Any questions we had, she found answers right away. Will definitely use Trip Central again.

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort: better each year!

this resort has it all, great food, great service and excellent entertainment. The new infinity pool area is like its own little resort, 7th visit and looking forward to our 8th! A short 20 minute ride from the airport puts this resort on the top of the list for us!!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great place to do as little or as much as you want

The grounds are clean, the food is good at the buffets and great at the a la cartes. Plenty of activities for all age groups as you explore the resort. The Adult Select Club is quiet and the Select beach club is a welcome place to relax.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Good resort for the price

This resort was more then what I expected. The one downfall was the mildew smell was very strong in the room to the point my eyes were puffy and my nose would not stop running. Also not enough towels or face clothes were given but a quick call resolved the towel issue. The shows were entertaining, food was great and liked the Coba pools. The beach was just ok. Loved the Japanese resturant, it is a must book and sit at the chiefs table.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Relaxing vacation with exceptional service!

My husband and I just got back from an amazing vacation at this beautiful resort. From the time we got there until the time we left the staff went out of their way to make our vacation the best it could be. We had three full days of torrential rain and still had a great time. Our junior suite garden view was so comfortable and large. We were happy to hang out in there and order room service. This resort is not on the beach but we never waiting very long to take the little train to the beach. Sian Ka'an has our own roped off adults only beach section with bar service. It is the best part of the beach and they come around to your chairs with water spritzer and face clothes, pretzels and fruit cabobs. This resort has top notch service. The food was amazing and I would go back again today if I could.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Good time at Royalton

First of all this was my first time at a Royalton resort so my expectations were a little high. Two of the pools were under construction when I was there (including the main pool that is shown in the photos as a selling point). The hottub was repaired by the end of our trip. Just an FYI if there is still construction going on, it goes until about 8pm every night. The food was great and have no complaints. We ate at all restaurants except Agave. The beach does have a seaweed issue, not the resorts fault but just something to keep in mind. Also, we had paid to go kayaking (3.00 US each), and then ended up not getting to go out due to garbage and they refused to refund us. We didn't end up being able to go out on the water at all. We had gone to Playa Del Carmen on Halloween ($50 there and $50 back). I found that you will get different information depending on who you ask, the city cabs can go passed the front gate, the front desk will tell you otherwise and say it is $15 USD to get from the road to the main lobby. Didn't happen for us. Anyways so we get back and the place was deserted it wasn't very happening for a Saturday night, not sure if it's a day everyone leaves or what. Overall we had a great time despite the construction. I don't know if I would go back there but I'm sure once it is all setup and running properly it would be amazing.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Daughters first time away

The resort was great. Well maintained, friendly staff and easy to get around. My daughter loved the animals that we're around and the dogs. It was fun seeing my daughter seeing and going into the ocean for the first time. The only thing I would suggest is that you have all the money you need with you for the whole trip and not to depend on the bank machines. They do not recgonize Canadian bank cards. We enjoyed our vacation and would return to try out the new water park!!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Amazing resort

It was a second time there! We visited the same time last year and decided to return because of our great first experience! The beach is not what I prefer but the swim out suites make up for it. The vast selection of great food always gives you options on what and where to eat. The gym is also very important to me and appreciated the high quality of the equipment

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Return visit disapointing

This is our second time at this Bahia, our 6th stay at a Bahia property, first time was in March 2010 and we stayed on the Akumal section before it was changed to Luxury Akumal. Overall everything was fine, the food great and most of the staff were incredible. Had some issues with repairs that were needed in our room, took forever to get them fixed. The rooms really need some updating and a good through cleaning. Loved all the critters running around. The seagrass problem was still ongoing. Would we return? not likely.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Amazing-Definately will be back!

Grand Palladium is well maintained and a gorgeous place to stay. With the four resorts all together it makes it a great experience being able to do things at all four of them, from the shows, listening to the amazing band Conclasse Band or just asking to watch a football game in the sports bar and having Francisco know your drink orders and have them ready for you before your drink is empty. The spa area has great whirlpools, and was very relaxing. The pool area wasn't busy probably because of the four resorts and the beach that people have access to go to, made it great to just go down to the pool and be able to grab any chair. Our waiter that would run with trays of drinks was entertaining and made our relaxing by the pool just that relaxing, he would bring whatever we wanted including some special shots. The atmosphere around the entire resort was amazing, the people are friendly, the staff exceptional, the food at the buffet and a la carte restaurants, were exceptional. The variety of food, and the multiple options of a la carte restaurants to go to, our favorites are too many to list. We did alot of walking between resorts because that was our choice, had to work off that food, but the option to hop onto the train or have the staff stop in their white carts to ask us where we were going, and take us to the resort we were heading to was wonderful. There is so much to say about this resort, and I'm running out of characters to do so. Thanks for our stay and we will be back!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: most amazing resort

As always our stay at bahia principle cobalt was awesome. We have been there now 10 times we. It is the only one we stay at. It is so beautiful and clean. The staff is amazing very friendly they can't seem to do enough for you. Only one thing that I can complain about and it has nothing to do with the resort or the staff. It is very damp there so you get a little damp smell in the rooms but we bring car fresheners with us and clip on the air conditioner and that helps a lot and keeping the fan g [... read more]oing all day and nite helps. There is always intertainment and places to shop even some on the resort. There is alot of excursions you can go one it is never boring and of course just relaxing around the pool and swimming. They also have activity pool where thete is all kinds of stuff going on. The food is so good they have a big variety. To us it feels like home away from home we got to know quit a few of the staff now. I would recommend this resort to anyone. We can' t wait to return again in April.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: will be returning again and again .....

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing time at the Hideaway at The Royalton. The staff all went above and beyond their call of duty. Our butler's Dominguez and Aldo were friendly, And helpful in every way. I did hit fall and cut my head open and the lifeguards "first aid" and staff had me back to the fun in no time. The food was great!! Make sure you get your butler to make you a reservation for the cooking show at ZEN.. IT'S A MUST!!!!
