Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great food, as always

Very good value. Place was spotless. Good staff. Always checking and double checking we were happy. Rooms were musty but it was extremely humid and end of rainy season. Our room was very dark and nathroom lighting was ridiculous. Once we were in and settled they sprayed the room with a freshener and that was fine. Weather was so so and so rough waters were bringing lots of seaweed and debris onto the beach. Not the resorts fault and they were constantly cleaning. However we didn't swim once in t [... read more]he sea and that was a real shame. Long line ups at the bars every time. It is my second time at this resort but think I may look elsewhere next time for a change.

El Dorado Maroma: Intimate & indulgent!

This was an anniversary getaway without kids and EDM delivered! We were constantly spoiled with great food and even better service. Everything about this resort was beautiful, and I can't wait to go back!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Worth it and more!

We were travelling with our young kid and we had a good time. Everything was fresh and clean and you could see the attention and the care everyone on the resort was providing to the place. We would surely go back there.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Average at best

Have been to other resorts in this area that were much nicer. Food was very average , staff were not overly friendly, rooms felt almost sterile , the buildings and grounds not very impressive. Would not recommend.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Good Value

Bar service and entertainment crew are amazing, especially our pool bartender Franklin and entertainment crew member Omar. Rooms were excellent. Buffet was good but not extraordinary...its a buffet right. We found the a la carte's to be bland and not worth the effort in booking a reservation(which had to be at least two days in advance). We knew there was going to be kids there but not that many, not enough to ruin the trip, but be aware that there are kids around. Room service food wasn't very good but that's to be expected. Make sure to check out the beach bbq lucnh everyday, we didnt find out about it until half way through our trip. Overall it was a good trip, worth every penny and had absolutely no regrets in our resort decision

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: amazing resort

This resort is amazing... You can not ask for more. Service is superb, grounds, rooms, staff are great. This was our forth trip to this resort. staff go out of their way to make your trip enjoyable. Excursions are enjoyable. We will continue to vacation at this resort and have recommended to numerous friends.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Worst Holiday Ever

We travel a fair bit finding last minute deals, so easily pleased. Let's start with the Positive! The grounds and rooms are lovely and well kept. The resort is really spread out. If you like to come out of your room, take an elevator down for meals and close access to pools and beach, this resort is not for you. On arrival, we got an instant lesson on patience and waiting. Waited almost an hour in line to check in at 3:00pm only to find the room was not ready and we had to come back. The girl sp [... read more]oke broken English and spoke too quickly for us to understand as she tried to explain everything about the resort in 5 minutes. So hot and tired from traveling, we looked for a place to get a drink and wait for our room. Finally room was ready and we waited for a shuttle and 10 minute ride to room. No elevators to get to 3rd floor. Got changed and waited for shuttle to take us back to Lobby. Waited for a different shuttle to go to beach on the other resort to find there was too much seaweed in the sandy area and too rocky where there was no seaweed. Waited for Shuttle to come back to front lobby then waited for other shuttle to go back to room. (See my point?) Great variety of food but they managed to cook the taste out of everything. There was no food flavor, (Not talking about spices), just no taste. The Pescador Sea Food Ala Cart was the worst meal ever. It was so dried out it could have been cooked days earlier and warmed up. It was buffet style for appetizer and desert, so not much Ala Cart happening there. Most of the Ala Cart time slots are booked in advance, so you may get 10:00pm as your dinner time. Service was good at the bars. Very pleasant people. For that I would give it 1 star.

Grand Sunset Princess: Great Family Spot

The Princess Club is an overall great family option. The kids club is excellent and the staff very friendly and spoke English. The evening activities are a little late if your children are on the young side, so we didn't take advantage of that aspect. The pools and grounds were clean and the bugs were few. No issues with food. Bar service was not the greatest, service slow and not all the bars were open. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing resort

Amazing resort. For sure 100% will go back again. 9 restaurant to choose. Good client tell. Very clean resort. Beach is amazing white sand and clear water. I would recommend this resort to all my friends.

Reef Club Playacar Beach: Nicely done

Well thought out grounds with jungle. Nice to have lots of umbrellas and lounge chairs on beach. Having only one catamaran that is almost in need of complete repair was a bit lacking. Italian restaurant was nice. Omar the coffe guy is awesome. He should run the whole place. Concierge doesn't actually know anything but they're helpful at point toward someone who does. Good resort overall.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Resort!

Resort is clean, well kept, excellent food and drinks. Al a carte restaurants were awesome, especially Tao. Rodeo Grill is a great steak restaurant at night and snack place open 24 hrs. Beach is not great in front of hotel, but just down to the right at the sister properties the beach and swimming is much better. Pools are large and clean. Upgrade to a swim out room if you can. Staff friendly and helpful. Concierge service was especially helpful and informative.

very,very clean,perfect service,a lot of diffrent real good tasting food,beach are perfect for smaller children,I only wished the have free wifi in the lobby only for e-mailing and my phone worked only in the room and it was poor

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Great resort!

Hotel was large and clean. Food was good! Many choices and restaurants! Stayed in the royal club, too many kids, needs and 18+, we paid the extra with the assumption of no children not the case. Overall great.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Fantastic Experience

Food was great! Especially at the buffets. Super friendly staff, very accommodating. Always noticed staff taking care of the resort whether it be cleaning up seaweed on the beach, landscaping in the gardens, painting and so forth. Very well maintained. Resort is an older resort so do expect older style rooms, but not a big deal as you really only sleep there. Bring lots of bug spray! the rooms all lead to a central path through the middle of the resort, which is basically central in a forest. Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Unique Resort

Eco resort within forest with ceynotes and mayan ruins on property. Great mayan related activities program with boat tour, bicycle tour and shows. Food was good. Plenty of chairs on beach. Not harassed for tipping at this resort. Lots to do for all ages.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: CLEAN,NICE AND SUPER FRIENDLY!

Absolutely everything or almost was great about this resort. Starting on the day of arrival till departure, friendly staff (even the gardeners). Good food, good service and so clean. The room was a knockout..i was very impressed with the setting. Would recommend this place anytime, but keep in mind it is restricted for adults. Normal, the booze is present all over!!

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: Wonderful Wedding

This was a lovely location for a wedding. The resort is small (approx. 130 rooms) and there are a lot of places to relax, eat, drink, or just lounge in the sun. The service was terrific - attentive but not overbearing. I especially appreciated the restaurants - at the door, we were asked about food allergies and substitutions or changes were made for each person.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Excellent resort

it's beautiful, clean, the food is great. The staff are amazing, very helpful, friendly and accommodating. It's very quiet, peaceful and really beautiful. Great for couplesI highly recommend this location.

El Dorado Maroma: Intimate Resort With 5 Star Staff

What a great resort! The beautiful grounds, the gorgeous beach, and staff that almost tripped over each other trying to make sure you're comfortable. Simply wonderful! I wouldn't hesitate to go back!!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Vacation

Impeccable grounds, not a blade of grass out of place. Pools were massive and inviting. Food was good in particular the room service. Traveled with grand kids and pizza at Palma's was a big hit. We upgraded to a one bedroom suite midway through the week and all we can say is "Wow". William and Aricelli at the pool were there every time we needed something. Some construction taking place, but not enough to bother us and it was very quiet in the evening. Good to see they are staying on top of reno [... read more]vations. Need to ask or call ahead to see if a restaurant is open or not. Pool side grills alternated at times but they were less than a two minute walk apart. Everyone who worked at the resort was hospitable and willing to offer assistance when needed. Looking forward to going back.
