Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort and amazing service!!!

Stayed between October 16th to October 24th, 2015. By far the best resort I have stayed at thus far. The grounds are beautiful, you can tell that the staff there works extremely hard to ensure that the hotel grounds are clean and well kept. Service was amazing, very personal your server will refer to you by your last name and sit you down even when you eat at the buffet. On the first night I left my carry on luggage on the bus (no name, no baggage tag on the luggage) and only realized that I do [... read more]n't have it 3hrs after we checked in. The concierge tracked down the bus and located my luggage, originally they said that I could not be able to get my luggage until the next day ( only because the shift for the bus was over for that day) but the concierge did not give up and I received my luggage the same night! Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel relaxed and well taken care of. Thank you Valentin Imperial Maya staff you made our stay amazing! We will definitely come back :).

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Good Solid Relaxing Resort

Enjoyed the all room ocean view. Entire resort revolves around beach! Enjoyed no reservations & no towel cards. Bar service , room cleaning beach bar service was awesome. Resort not a party resort but geared to people who just want to relax & chill.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Definitely not 4.5 star hotel

My friend and I arrived by noon on Saturday Oct 17th. Check in time was supposed to be 3pm. We were assured that we would get into our room by 2pm. Two hours after that we finally got into the room. We paid 1100 CDN each. For that amount the hotel was OK. Small resort. No shows at night. There was music at night. That was good but not enough seats to relax. Be aware of the Fidelity Program. This is a time share but no yearly administration fee. The people that approach you when you arive call th [... read more]emselves "concierge". They appear to be friendly only to get close to you to waste two hours of your time talking about the Fidelity Program aka time share. Shameful! Luckily we went to discuss the Program when it was raining. When we said no to the 8000.00 USD for a ten year Program we were asked why did we bother to attend. It was like we were wasting their time not wasting MY vacation time. Food was good. They gave us one small bag of chips and one small chocolate bar per day. We were two people in the room. ??? Definitely not a luxery hotel. Great beach and snorkeling!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Valentin Imperial

Our room was damp and musty. Cleanliness of the rooms needs improvement. Extremely slow process to check in, first impressions on service desk was mediocre. On a positive note the pool, beach and restaurants were most enjoyable.

Akumal Beach Resort: Great resort

The resort was kept very clean. It was also a small resort so that you had easy access to where ever you wanted to go on the resort. The staff on the resort are all very very friendly and the most of them speak english quite well.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

Had an amazing time for eight days at this resort. Although it rained a few days (October), we still had a lot of fun. The pool is huge with two swim up bars. Service was impeccable, specially when one of our luggage was lost on the bus with no name on it, they managed to retrieve it and get it to us at are door within a few hours. The grounds are big and very nice as well as all the restaurants especially the French restaurant. Amazing food! I miss this resort! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: wonderful resort with very friendly staff!

Wonderful hotel who work hard to ensure that you enjoy your vacation! There are always activities happening from Yoga in the morning- to Catamaran sailing. There is something for everyone! We really enjoyed the free bike use- as Playa Del Carmen is a short 15 minute bike ride from the resort and is a wonderful town for shopping. The A La Cart restaurants were wonderful- with amazing food and service. The international buffet has a wide variety of food and the Panini maker was a favourite for us for lunch! The rooms are clean and the balcony is a nice option. The Relax pool was a favourite for us! Tomas the bartender there is wonderful and keeps your drinks full with a smile! We would recommend this resort- you wont be disappointed!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great place to go relax!

The hotel was very nice and work was constantly going on, painting, re doing the cement in the fountains, etc. It wasn't very busy so we never had to wait for dinner, and all restaurants were incredible! We have been to Sandals and some other highly rated hotels in the Caribbean and Platinum does not take a back seat to any of them!

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: AMAZING RESORT

Amazing resort! Over the top service, great food, great rooms! We have been to many many other resorts in the Mayan Riviera area and this by far is the best! The proximity to playa is great - 20 minutes or so and close to lots of activities. There is always a staff member asking if you need something.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Home away from Home

My husband and I returned to our little Paradise. We have been coming for 8 years to Riu Palace Rivera Maya. We celebrate our anniversary every Oct 05 with our children and extended family at the Riu. Thanks to Mendea (Roseira), and all the staff our visit, our food, our accomodations have always been excellent. This is a place where you can feel safe and relax. It is not a large resort and you have access to all the other Riu's in the area should you wish to. The beach was excellent and we only [... read more] had some seaweed the last 2 days of our stay. We often could be found in the pool playing volleyball. The only complaint I have would be the entertainment during the day and the shows at night. I also miss the older days when the vendors and people would visit the resort. The good thing is you are close to everything and can go to 5th Avenue, catch a ferry to Cozumel and even go to the Casino

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Not as good as I anticipated

First the negatives; 1) The beach is questionable, to get there you have to take a shuttle which you can wait for for up to 20 minutes and the ride is about 20 minutes. So getting to and from the beach is a hassle and after all is said and done it can't compare to other beaches in Mexico or Punta Cana's beaches in the Dominican Republic. 2) The a la carte restaurants are difficult to get into even if you pay the extra for the Golden package. The resort is selling a Privileged Club package. If yo [... read more]u are "Privileged" you can book restaurant reservations two weeks before you arrive. So if you are not "Privileged" you get the leftovers. If you want to eat at 9 or 9:30 and don't want to get into the better restaurants you will be okay. 3) If you are "Privileged" they heavily promote children under 12 for free. In my opinion this resulted in many kids just running around doing their own thing with little regard for others and parents not caring for them. All other resorts I have visited allow children and I have never had an issue with children at the reasorts since in all other cases they were much better behaved. As to other items; the staff was very friendly and went out of the way to keep you happy, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food (buffet restaurant) was very good with a large selection of items. I would have reservations recommending this resort mainly because of the situation with the beach and getting into the a la carte restaurants. In my opinion the beach is a big item if you are going to Mexico or the Caribbean.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: So good we will return for a third time

We have just an amazing week here, traveled Oct. 3 Rd - Sept 27th - 10th October. This was our 2nd visit, previously 2010. What Can I Say : "IT WAS A PARADISE" Hotel This hotel is huge it is made up of at least 5 resorts, where we could move around in 2 of them. but once you get your bearings it easy to navigate around. Within the 2 resorts you can move around in there are 4 large pools with great swim up bars and then there are scattered smaller Jacuzzi pool with no bar. Also Highly recommend the Mexican Fiesta on Thursday where there is a folkloric Mexican Fiesta at the Hacienda. There are plenty of trains to take you around the resorts where the maximum wait time between trains is 15 min and in the and worst case scenario, you could walk to where you to get to taking about 20 minutes for us to get to the beach. The rooms are large and spacious and amenities are great. Tea/coffee facilities and mini bar constantly stocked with water, beer, coke ,fanta and sprite. The grounds are immaculate and maintained constantly by the army of gardeners. BEACH The Beach is beautiful, with nice white sand and clear blue water. There were enough sun loungers available, we had no need to be put towels out at 7am but it could have been because the time of year although to me the resort looked full. I have read on other reviews about a seaweed problem, but, the issue is pretty much non-existent due to the new barriers they have in place. The beach bar is great. You can walk to the Tulum hotel which you have full access to. The beach this way is a little rockier. If you go the other way you can walk down to the Akumal part of the beach which is the best and absolutely stunning with plenty of fish to swim with. The facilities here you cannot use freely as a regular Coba guest. We did have access and we enjoyed a bit time there. FOOD BUFFET- The buffet was GREAT! So much choice, you would never go hungry. There is all kinds of food all over laced with my favourite type of food MEXICAN. They were constantly replacing old trays even up to 15 minutes before they closed so there was never an issue with lack of fresh food. A LA CARTES We did the following....... Meditereano This was a great simple and elegant restaurant to go to. I am not an expert on mediterranean food, but I had one of the best New York Steaks I have tasted and my wife had a Salmon comparable to the salmon served her in Canada. Japanese This we had done on our previous visit and the top show table is a must. The show was good, it was entertaining and involved all at the table helping us make friends with those at the table. Overall, we had the most AMAZING time We will definitely be back...... The customer service is exceptional Thank you. The staff is great the customer service at this hotel is above and beyond and we will be returning in a few years to annoy you all again!

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: beatuful place

Grounds very well kept, coos is good, people are always smiling. If the weather is good the beach is beautiful. After it rained not so much. But still nice and warm. The only thing I would work on is the catamaran rentals. They always have an excuse not to give them out. You only pay $10 and you can use them as often as you want but they have a very limited time for you to use them and always a differente reason for not giving them out. In general we would return to this resort. It is very well kept and it's close to Playa del Carmen.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: nice adult resort

very clean rooms, very good food and very polite staff. the pool was very nice and warm enough to go in immediately, but still refreshing. the resort is spread out, so a lot of walking which is fine, especially when you tend to overeat on vacation. the sport's bar was good, but would be nice if it was a bit bigger for those days when it does happen to rain (all day) The a la carte restaurants had delicious food, presentation was nice and not too big of a portion, so that you could have all 3 cou [... read more]rses. overall a nice resort.

Riu Tequila: RIU Tequila

The resort is fabulous. Starting from when you first arrive, you'll notice RIU tequila's unique lobby. The villa style rooms, the layout of the resort and the customer service received there are all fantastic. Playacar is a very safe district with gated security. A must go for the much needed mid winter rest and relaxation.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Incredible Resort

I thought the hotel was amazing! The staff was so nice and helpful, the resort was beautiful and the food was delicious. I had such a great time with my friends and I would love to go back there again.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Great place to stay.

I would definitly come back. This was my first time at an all inclusive resort so I dont have much to compare to but i found that the staff were very friendly and helpful. Resort was spotless and the food was great.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Incredible vacation spot!!

The hotel was beautiful, great for a group and perfect for young people (we are a group of girls in early 20s). Fun and entertaining atmosphere, we never had trouble finding things to do. Even with bad weather we had a great time! The Hacienda is a must (great nights at the disco, sports bar, shopping)! The trolleys were a great for the rainy days when we didn't want to walk. Food was good and our room was nice and fairly big. Pool was beautiful!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: WOW!

Amazing Place. Its HUGE! The service, the food. Tops! We Loved all about the resort. The resort has lots to keep you entertained. Bahia Principe has 4 sections to stay at. And soon a 5th will be open.. To suite all needs. For golfers, the resort has 27 beautifully holes to play. Will definitely be back..

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Fantastic vacation

Resort is beautiful and lots of activities. The food was really good especially the Japanese restaurant. I would fully recommend this resort to anyone and I have stayed at many resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean and it's one of my favorites.
