Occidental Punta Cana: ok

Would not return to this hotel. Rooms OK, but bathroom disgusting and smelled of cigarette smoke. Problem getting towels & services that were promised. Waited over 4 hrs before we could get into our room. Couldn't get away from cigarette smoke and beach area very crowded. Spa services mediocre at best and expensive. Food ok, drinks sucked. (how is that possible??) Pool was nice and very clean but music drove us crazy. Same over and over again. Change the music.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Beautiful resort

Great resort with very good and varied food options. But beware what room you get assigned as some rooms are poorly maintained and faulty plumbing system could cause some very unpleasant surprise (flooding of room).

Occidental Caribe: Beautiful grounds, but service lacks

My wife and I recently stayed at Barcelo Punta Cana. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the beach is amazing; the only flaw was the accommodations and service, or better lack thereof! • Water Leak above our sink – We had a slow water leak above our bathroom sink which turned into a large downpour half way into our stay. We told the front desk mid-way into our stay when it got really bad. We notified the front desk at 9:00am. We returned at the end of the day to find they did n [... read more]ot inspect our room, and water was still leaking!! When we went to the front desk again, the employee said to us “why didn’t you come back in the afternoon if it was not fixed?!” …I told him “I came at 9:00am!! You had a whole day to fix it and it’s my vacation!” • Housekeeping – Day 1 we tipped $2 and received only one set of towels, when we are two people staying in the room! Day 2 we did not tip and received only ONE hand towel, no bath towels or face towels at all, nor did we receive new bottled water and pop! Day 3 we tipped $5 and received two sets of all towels!! You should NOT have to tip to receive the basic amenities! We spoke to many others on the resort who also experienced the same problems with housekeeping. • Towel Hut – Employees question you if you attempt to get more than one towel per day. I went to switch our towels around 4:00pm because they were wet and the employee at the towel hut said "you were just here 1 hour ago – you are only allowed one towel per day, hotel rule!" I said “excuse me? If towel is wet, I'm allowed to switch it as many times as I want!!” • Showers – The showers in our rooms had sporadic water pressure and cold water. • Toilets – Half of the toilets around the resort do not flush well. A poolside washroom overflowed with dirty water about 1-inch deep one day! • Beach chairs –We were up and at the pool/beach by 8:30/9:00am and many of the good spots were gone already! And the best part, those people did not show up many times until after lunch! • Rooms – rooms are old and should be renovated • Pasta station – the pasta station at the buffet needs more than one person to run it. We waited for 45 minutes to get pasta, because the poor guy was cooking AND washing his own plates on his own!! • Burger hut – the burger hut near the pool NEVER replenished the French Fries during peak lunch time hours. We would wait in line for burgers and hot dogs, only to find out the fries were finished when it was our turn! Cook for your anticipated crowds. • Drinks – Various times the pool side bars ran out of pina colada mix. The speciality restaurants did not have rum during peak dinner hours. • Drinks – The servers will ask you what you want to drink …but NEVER bring it to you! Why ask if you aren’t going to follow through?! This happened MULTIPLE times. • Internet – Internet is lousy and expensive! Not even free wifi in the lobby.

Ocean Blue and Sand: GREAT RESORT

Met most of our expectations. Made for a memorable vacation.A real paradise Most of the staff second to none . Can,t say enough about this property.Would return again without a doubt.Great place to have a relaxing time.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Good for families with young kids

Overall a decent hotel with good amenities. Our room (building 6) was less than adequate with black mold in the bathroom and grime on the floors. It could use a renovation. The pools and waterslides were in great condition and pool service was excellent. The only issue with the pools were that guests were allowed to reserve pool chairs for multiple hours without use. This resulted in unused pool chairs and guests looking for spots. The guest services were questionable. We were locked out of ro [... read more]om for a few hours due to a faulty door lock. We also had to call multiple times for a crib upon arrival and waited several hours before one showed up. (Note: the crib mattress is a folded up blanket with a sheet on it). Restaraunts were good, buffet was OK and I would not recommend room service.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: amazing vacation

We just spent 1 week here. Our room was super clean and beautiful. It was very spacious. The food was good and there was lots of selection. My 10 year old loved it. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We have no complaints.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Excellent resort

Love the grounds and pool. Nice beach few rocks. Rooms clean but bathrooms could do with a bit of updating. The entertainment crew especially Ramon and James were terrific. We would go back again soon

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Outstanding Vacation

This resort checks all the boxes! It is clean, well kept and the amenities are more than adequate. The beach is simply amazing, the pool area is fantastic and there are many activities happening throughout the day and evening if you choose to participate. Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Excellent family resort

Everything was fantastic!! Very clean, friendly staff, fantastic service!! Food was good and lots of variety!! My favourite restaurant was " under the sea" Not one complaint , would go back in a heart beat!

Riu Bambu: great resort

beautiful beach with lots of palms trees ,the food was great snack bar ,buffet & a la carte restaurant "Japanese" & "Italian" ,very clean resort would not hesitate to go back me & my husband loved our vacation .

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Wonderful time!

Arrived early, around 1030 am. As expected, our room was not ready. We changed and headed for the beach. Hotel was large, but surprisingly easy to get around. Nice clean rooms, great a la cartes, and no problem getting in with no reservations required. And a wonderful beach. Overall, a great week. I would recommend this hotel.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe Tropical

Beautiful, large mature property. Rooms well appointed and clean. Beach beautiful lots of activity. Pools beautiful. Lots of walking or train taking. The resort is very big. There is a lot of activities on or off resort. Restaurants were all very good. Loved that you don't have to make reservations, I hardly went to the speciality restaurant at other resorts because I didn't want to waste my vacation time with that chore. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Excellent Resort

This is the second time at this resort, we went back because we were very impressed the first time. This trip was better then the first time, and for those who have food allergies they will accommodate and the chef will at the buffet will walk you through and let you know what you can and can not eat. The Guest Services will write you a note to talk with you to the "a la carte" so that they could prepare your meal for you. The Resort is clean the pools are clean and the beach is the best.

Secrets Royal Beach: Good resort Location may be a concern for some

The hotel was OK Food was very good. People serving very good. There were two issues. Toilets will not take paper or they will not flush. Paper must be put in garbage. Second issue is weeds on beach. They are doing a lot of work to keep the beach clean of weeds but if you swim in the ocean you will be swimming among the weeds.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing family vacation!

This vacation and resort was one of the best we have traveled to! There were nine of us in total from age 3 - 60 and we had a fantastic trip! We have a 3 and a 6 year old and the amenities couldn't have been better! The water park was the perfect size with 9 small-medium sized water slides. From mini golf to trampoline...to a $10 haircut for my son at the beautiful spa...Segway tours around the resort and the most friendly accommodating staff...we could not have asked for a better time! It was m [... read more]y mom's first time at an all-inclusive resort and she, along with the rest of us, were continuously amazed by the level of maintenance of the grounds, pools and beach. For such a large resort, transportation was never a problem and the menu at the main buffet and snack bars was wonderful. It was a truly wonderful vacation and we look forward to going back!!!

Secrets Royal Beach: Problems with two rooms

Compared to Secrets in Montego Bay this resort would not be more than a 3-star. Problems with toilet not flushing, air conditioning not working properly and problems with main door (was fixed ) We were moved to another room but not without toilet problems again,

Grand Palladium Palace: amazing resort

this resort/hotel/restaurant was great, friendly service,clean rooms/sidewalks/pools/beaches bed were comfortable, easy access to other resorts, nice little stores,lots of excursion opportunity. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: A Few Disappointments

For returning for the third time I was somewhat disappointed with the housekeeping service, cleaning my own room. I know they are busy but we pay for the service. There was alot of seaweed in the water for 3-4 days but that they cannot control, the water was still beautiful. We always stayed in the Punta Cana section, Golden Club...this time we stayed in the Bavaro, club diamond section. We always had great housekeeping service in the past, this will not keep us away because we love the beach.

Occidental Caribe: nice resort, too many springbreakers

This was a well kept and clean resort. The staff was awesome, always there to help. Food was awesome with lots of variety. If you go to the casino avoid the scam with the free chips at the entrance. Spring breakers took over pool every day open to close (and some never got out) I really enjoy the swim up but choose to stay out of this one. Beautiful pools just don't like swimming in.....
