Selection Riviera Cancun: great resort

Overall everything was great. Food was outstanding, and you don't have to make reservations for a la carte. Tons of chairs by the wonderful pools. Beach was great. A little rocky in the ocean. Ocean view room was not an ocean view room, only saw palm trees and a pool.

Oasis Tulum: Very nice resort

Nice beach, clean resort, the staff is very friendly... It rained a lot during our visit. The only downside would be the ambiance in the lobby. There was only elevator type of music which was a little boring

Catalonia Royal Tulum: great experience despite poor weather

The resort was very well maintained. The staff did an excellent job removing the seaweed most days so the beach was clear. Our room was always cleaned well, we were served with smiles each and every day.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: The best resort we have been too

the resort was excellent, food, accommodations, service, drinks, entertainment and restaurants were perfect. The beach was okay, however there were lots of pools. The lobby was the nicest part of the resort.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Just OK

Visited this resorts with two other couples for a long weekend. This food was good and staff very nice. The room itself was showing signs of wear -upon arrival we discovered we were in a back corner and had noise and smell issues. Also torn linens plumbing problems and lighting problems.it would have been nice if they were more accommodating about switching bring. We eventually did end up moving but it was a tiresome battle to get there. With only three days to relax this was unfortunate.The poo [... read more]l was part of our highlights especially the sunset from the infinity pool. Preferred club not worth it. The beach was the worst part. Not swimmable. Not great for walking up and down. If you are a beach person I would definitely stay away

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Highly recommend this resort

My husband and I recently stayed at the Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness Resort. Our stay was fantastic. Everything about this resort is fabulous. I would recommend it any time. In fact, we've already been speaking about it to our friends and family and we are looking at visiting this resort again next year.

Allegro Playacar: Exactly as expected

Thanks to all the great reviews I read before our trip I felt I got exactly what I expected. The small no frills of this resort make it feel way more tropical than the pizzaz of the palace next door. Its the same Ocean, same sun and if you just love getting away like the 4 of us girls do you will love it. The pool and beach are fabulous and I would go back for those alone. The food is typical basic all inclusive but we had no issues and always found something. I really get tired of food complainers, I mean really? If you want gourmet you can have it anytime at home at many fine dining choices. We go south for sun and fun. The food simply fuels us. Both restaurants are a nice relaxing change from the buffet and we enjoyed them, Service was excellent and my birthday was acknowledged with cake and a song. very nice. Drinks were fabulous. made any way you like it, slushy, shaken, very tasty margueritas and tequila sunrise. If you prefer Bacardi over their basic rum theres no issue.. The grounds are clean and nice and the short walk anywhere is super convenient. The rooms is the only reason this resort loses a star as they are small and dated but it is no issue to me as they were clean and maid service was excellent. I also found the beds very comfortable. I finally went to coco bongo and although it was unique to see I would never do it again.. Its very overwhelming and crowded. If you are over 40 like me then make sure you are a music lover and can handle being packed in there. Lastly another best about this resort as mentioned in many reviews is the staff. They are all lovely but our standouts were ANDERSON who is an absolute pleasure and his personality with all guests young and old made our vacation. BELISARIO at the Amber bar thank you for your smile and laugh, it was our pleasure to have met you. FIDEL and JORJE from the restaurants and late night snack bar, hard working and always smiling. Lastly the lovely NESTER who remembered our names and our drinks everyday and early evening at the beach bar.. Our girls vacation was a memorable one and we would all return to this hotel in a heartbeat. My only wishes for guest improvement would be some entertainment , piano or singer up in the lobby bar after dinner for those of us that don't stay up for the disco as it does seem to be very quiet at night. Also some nacho chips with all the fixings for late night snack as opposed to having to have meat tacos . Go and enjoy

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Upscale Resort, The Royalton - Mexico

Very new, modern; hotel type feel; would not know you were in Mexico; accommodation and staff service, food EXCELLENT! Close to the airport therefore, no long bus ride. Resort needs shuttle service to either Playa or Cancun if you wish to explore; otherwise expensive to venture off resort. Children pool area under repair/construction going on and we were not informed prior to trip nor did we enjoy all the amenities that we were entitle to. For example: Infinity pool. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: NICE RESORT

Rooms clean and ok, a la carte restaurants food good with a varied menu, pools are big with plenty of sitting area, employees very friendly and tend to your needs, beach not great could not take long walks.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Wow! Great Food, Friendly Service, Great Value

We thouroughly enjoyed the trip. The Platinum Yucatan Princess did not disappoint. Staff were always super cheerful and helpful. My wife loved the spa. One of the spa staff members arrived for work while we were waiting to depart and made a point of coming over to say goodbye. There was continual access to a variety of great quality food. If to complain of anything it would be the seaweed at the beach area. But the pools with ample seating made up for that. I have already recommended the resort  [... read more]to a few friends. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Luxury Hotel

We had a fantastic time from start to finish.The service was top notch,food incredible and the atmosphere was wonderful. The only thing I would watch for is the first day or so they do pressure you to buy time share with them . Once you say no they will leave you alone. The hotel room was luxury, it had a jacuzzi and we also had a terrace. The best accommodations we ever had. Also fridge fill daily and satellite tv and room service. The shows were wonderful. Allegro Playacar: Relaxing and Perfect!

The resort is very clean and there is so much to do! The food was amazing ever night and it always changes so it is not repetitive. The shows were fun and very entertaining and people were very friendly! Overall, very satisfying because the beach was right in front and it was amazing!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great resort!

Very nice resort. Food was good. Beach and pools were awesome. It is a very large resort so we had about 5 min walk to beach but we're close to lobby and restaurants. Pool area room would be best (central area)Remember to take bug spray!!!!!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: room for improvement

The people were wonderful the rooms were aweful! From cracked counters and showers to 50 year old furniture to daily broken locks on doors. The room we got was nothing compared to what they display on there website so be very careful!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Loved it again

It was our third visit at this resort and we had a wonderful time. We were pleasantly surprised by the improvements made to service and furniture since the last time we were there. Will go back again in future. The only negative was the Sunquest rep who didn't book our return transport properly but that is not the resort's responsibility, and when we asked them for help they quickly provided a solution and we made it back to the airport in time for our flight.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Immaculate setting...

Talk about luxury & the Royalton should rest in the upper echelons. Pristine ocean views especially at sunrise, over-indulging restaurants, tasteful accommodations and an attention to detail type staff. Although only ten months old, and still on the last bits of its' teething process, the Royalton delivers with several pools to wet the appetite if the ocean if just a view for you wherein that case, there are beautifully situated bars, hammocks and loungers. Not all is perfection as mentioned wit [... read more]h the teething process - the Kids pool area is still under construction and there is lots of seaweed that washes up on the shore - for us it wasn't bothersome but for others it might be. The only other complaint it that the resort is one, approx 2km, winding road from the entrance, taxis are pricey, to walk it can be challenging but the resort fulfills you enough that to get off the 'reserve', a simple excursion booking will serve you well. My trip was only 4 days but for an 'in & out' - was truly worth my time and money...and that sunrise...things nothing can buy!

El Dorado Seaside Palms: We had a great trip at the El Dorado!

This was a great resort on many levels. Lots of shade so that our tender skin could get out of the sun and not turn cherry red. We usually took a bed with good shade that looked out on the ocean but was close enough to the main pool to here what was going one. The best bar tender is at the small bar on the very end of the lazy river. He is tucked away over there but, he makes the best drinks in the hotel. If you are a big beach person, probably not the resort for you but my husband made it out  [... read more]to the reef for some snorkeling and said it was good. I did some snorkeling closer in and saw a number of fish but only 2 or 3 varieties. The resort is in a great location for excursions! Close to many of the day trips and of course close to Tulum and Coba. We really enjoyed the half day excursion called Cenote and Sea Turtles. Food was excellent, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the pool for our "upgraded" rooms had an algae problem but, as pool owners, we were surprised how quickly the problem was fixed and since we were sitting down on the beach it didn't really make much of a different to us. The music pipped in at the upgrade pool and the Lazy River though was truly awful. The cover tracks of Beatles songs by a jazz singer just have to go! Main pool looked small but could handle a surprisingly large crowd and there were a couple other pools to enjoy anyway! We had a great time and would recommend this hotel to others!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing resort,very clean

Very nice location,relaxing and quiet. Good food and choices of restaurants. Buildings 3 and 4 are nice and quiet and looking directly onto the ocean. The Jacuzzi is a nice touch on the balcony. Staff very helpful and friendly. There are no shows in the evening, just some bands and the occasional dancers in the lobby bar, missed having the shows at night.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort. Everyone was so great!

Food was awesome, rooms were very clean and service was A+. Maids were very friendly and if we asked for a specific thing with no time we received it. A la carte restaurants were very good and service was awesome. Beaches were clean despite the seedweed. Will definitely go back.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Beautiful Resort

The grounds are absolutely stunning. Our room was big & clean. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The pools are amazing & it never felt crowded. The entertainment in the evening was awesome. The food was good but our favorite restaurant was the Japanese. We would definitely go back to this resort.
