Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Excellent resort

rooms and entire resort very clean and food is very good people working in resort very nice and friendly It was our second time going back to this resort and we will go back a third time. thanks to the resort for making our stay once again great.

Riu Bambu: Not a fan!

We arrived on March 20th, and found the resort packed and the service not even close to anything rated a 4 or greater. It could have been the week we chose, as it was packed with spring break students. Not much room to maneuver around pool area. The beach has a lot of chairs but again, a far distance to get a drink. Rooms were mediocre and the food selection was lacking. No champagne!!! Not pleased. The palace is hands down a huge upgrade with much more selection, service, and amenities. Plus, the crowd was a nice variety and definitely not nearly as busy.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Great natural beauty

This was our first time in the Dominican Republic and found the beaches exceptional, pool very good, grounds very nice, buffet acceptable with lots of variety, al la cartes were good with the Japenese and Italian being the tops, and overall service was average. The golf courses were a nice bonus and green fees were included at no cost. I only had to pay for the cart rental which is reasonable. Overall the facility was quite nice except for the overwhelming smell of raw sewage and rooms that are due for updating but clean. The biggest downside to the who property and experience is the pressure from the salesmen when leaving the buffet to try to sell you a membership to the their Club. I would recommend this property if you are a golfer and get it at a good price. This place deserves a solid 3 star rating because of the golf, natural beauty, grounds, and beaches and I would recommend it as a middle-of-the-road property.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Nice resort

The ocean had a ton of seaweed which they tried to keep cleaned up but it was around you when you swam :( Pools were great. There were BUGS. We all had numerous bug bites so make sure you take lots of bug spray. Very friendly staff. Bathrooms are a bit outdated. Rooms are nice. Food was good.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Ocean blue and sand Resort; punta cana

(grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.)I travelled with my husband and two other couples and we all enjoyed our stay at this resort; I would recommend it to anyone! We did have to call twice to have our fridge restocked as this was to be done daily; but that isn't a big issue for me to give a bad rating. Beach is nice; bit of seaweed; but nothing to stop me from loving the beach; the employees worked hard to keep it off the beach. Loved the beach buffet also; and beach burgers are very tasty!!! Entertainment staff worked very hard every opportunity to keep customers entertained!!!

Occidental Punta Cana: Terrible

Bathroom was in need of renovations badly. Smoke smell always in our room. Cocktails all to sweet. Staff at front desk, not helpful or friendly. Pool was clean, and waiters at pool bar very friendly..

Occidental Caribe: Good Value Last Minute Trip

Grounds were lovely and well maintained. People were friendly, polite and helpful. Room was a little dated but fine. Buffet food was good, however, a la carte was spectacular. Has by far the best strip of beach in the vacinity. Evening entertainment was OK. Sometimes certain drinks were difficult to obtain. Good cross section of age groups selected this location.

Occidental Caribe: Best resort in Punta Cana!

The grounds are heaven; the layout was fantastic; the food was tasty. I would have liked more music on the patio at nights. It can get boring at times. The water was rough; maybe because it was March.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Bavaro Barcelo

Barcelo Bavaro Adults only was a beautiful resort. Very clean, gorgeous grounds, the best beach. The bartenders are very generous with the booze and good quality liquor too. The Caribe lunch buffet wasn't great but the LaBrisa lunch was much better - chicken, grilled fish, grilled vegetables, fresh pasta, lots of salads. Most of the dinners were good, not great but the food is different in the Dominican. Chez Gourmet (chateaubriand) and LaBrisa (veal) were good for dinner. There is no beach serv [... read more]ice for drinks but there was around the pool. On the flip side, the room was very musty,(but clean) we got used to it eventually. The bathroom shower is small but the water pressure is great and the water hot. There were ALOT of smokers here so I was constantly moving away to get out of the second hand smoke. I really think they should have some areas smoke free (especially the cigars were stinky).

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: First time there and will definitely return!!

We have been to many resorts in Punta Cana and this is one of the best ones we have stayed at. The service we received was beyond exceptional. The XHALE club delivered everything we could have asked for from premium drinks, a separate dining space for breakfast and lunch as well as exceptional service. The swim up room was very well appointed and had sun exposure from early morning to early evening, which is exactly what we had requested. Our favorite restaurants were Coquette (French), the Culinaria (Mediterranean) as well as the Lebanese. We also made great use of the gym, which had more treadmills then I have seen at a resort in a long time. Even during peak hours at the gym, I never had to wait for a treadmill. We also used the spa several times during our stay and have nothing but great things to say about the staff and the services we received. This is definitely a resort I would return to in the future!!!!

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Would consider another visit

The resort as a whole was fairly good, definitely in need of some updates to be sure. I would not say it was 4 star worthy personally. We had issues with the AC not working properly and told them about it at the front desk. No one followed up to fix it, so it was constantly a balmy 27 degrees which is not ideal for comfortable sleeping. Our cleaning lady was great and always made sure we had clean towels and our fridge was stocked! Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Fantastic

The resort was nice. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I went with a party of 4 and we all loved the resort. We had a yellow bracelet. I don't like the fact that it's divided into levels. Should treat all their guests equally. The yellow bracelet gets you a hotel style room with super hard beds (lowest on the totem pole, had to pay for wifi and safe...all other levels were included with better beds). We requested an upgrade (even offered to pay whatever we had too) and we were told they would get ahold of us by the nights end....they must have forgot. The weather was enough to make up for it though. The water park is great for kids. For that reason alone we are going back next year with our children. We got a tour (time share) of the resort and I now know to get a gold or silver room for a family of 4 or more. The food was good (no one got sick), and staff was friendly. Rene from the beach/pool area is great. I was looking for a coconut drink and he was sure to find one for me. He scurried off quick as he didn't want a tip (but we chased him). He asked our group to do an excursion only once when others came to us each day often . We were there for R&R. It's rated as a 4 star....if your on the Tropical side in a better room (gold,silver, platinum), I would concur. Our room was far far from a 4 star.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Tropical Paradise

The entire resort is a tropical paradise with beautifully landscaped grounds. Food was much better than previous Dom. Rep. experience. What moved my rating from 4 star to 5star was the staff. Marvelous friendly people who seem genuinely happy.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Average Stay

The pool smelled like urine, the beach was full of seaweed - FULL! Close to the marina, so smelled like fuel and was loud. The buffet was great, the restaurants weren't! Average rooms, but they all had balcony space, which was nice. NO water pressure and mostly cold - which is standard for DR .

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Great Family Vacation

My husband and I stayed at this resort with our 4 year old son. The resort is very family friendly and we enjoyed our stayed. The rooms were beautiful and the grounds very well maintained. The staff were nice but very little English was spoken at the resort which made things difficult, we had a good time anyway.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Three Thumbs Up

This was our second stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Our last stay was two years ago. i brought my three children with me and we all enjoyed what the resort had to offer, from the gorgeous grounds, to the evening shows to the beautiful beach, the clean pools, the mini kids ping pong tournament, the free WiFi in the relaxing Lobby and most of all the friendly service from the staff at the resort. My children are still young but my oldest is at the age [... read more] where I was able to give him the freedom to go out on his own. I felt the resort was safe enough to do that and that gave me incredible peace of mind. Thank you Luxury Bahia Principe Esmerelda for another incredible memory. We are giving you "Three Thumbs Up"!

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Great resort

Hotel is very nice and clean. The resort very close to beach with lots if coconut. Loved the beach. Would really enjoy to return. Excellent water park. Great places for kids and big families. Excellent entertainment. Too bad only 2 a la cart and is always full

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Good time

Lots of fun, resort is huge! Beaches were great. Food was so so. Amazing time with friends. Many things to do on and of resort. Would recommend to try this place out. Weather was great all week, really hot!

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Great resort, great service

Enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and the food was great. You have to try the restaurants - our favorite was the steak house. The Japanese and Italian were good. The grounds are beautiful. We stayed mostly around the pool - did not like the amount of seaweed along the shoreline.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Large Group Trip

Hotel was nice, clean, but very large. I much prefer smaller resorts without all the different class/band types. Overall food was good, beach was beautiful, and resort was clean. Shows were fantasic. Only complaint is the size - way to big to relax.
