Occidental Punta Cana: Wonderful vacation!

just arrived home last night from a wonderful vacation, the food was completely unexpectedly delicious we didn't have a meal that wasn't flavorful, presented nicely and made with perfection! The staff were friendly, the grounds were very well kept, the pools were nice, the beach area (Air Transat Privilege Club private area) was wonderful, a special shout out to Franklin the beach bartender! Yes the rooms were dated, definitely need some tender loving care and paint! But the staff did a good job [... read more] keeping them clean. the only reason I wouldn't go back is because I wasn't satisfied with the rooms. if it's a beach vacation with good food that your looking for this is definitely the resort for you!

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Outstanding Resort

It was our first time travelling to Punta Cana and Now Larimar was outstanding. Only 20 minutes from the airport. The resort was well maintained, rooms were clean and the food was very good. The staff were outstanding....very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The resort was not over crowded and it was never a problem finding chairs around the pool or beach at any time of the day. The entertainment staff were outstanding. I would definitely return to Now Larimar and recommend it to others.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Wonderful Vacation

We spent 10 wonderful days at the Ocean Blue. The beach and the pools were great. The food at the buffet and at the al a carts were very good. The line up to the Steak House and Mexican restaurant were long but worth the wait. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment. We would definitely return to this resort.

Blau Natura Park Resort: A relaxing week at Blau

Upon arrival at the Punta Cana airport we had some concerns. It was noted from Airport staff that Blau was run down, rustic and possibly unsafe. This was not the case. Blau maybe is not as manicured as your 4 or 5 star resorts, but provides a semi rustic charm. The wildlife, the staff and the food was spectacular! I have stayed at Sandals, Dreams and Iberostar. For my dollar the Blau was well worth it. Staff is fantastic. Big shout out to Julio (our server for the week) and of course Elvis the  [... read more]sweetheart of the Blau. My four year old daughter felt like a princess the entire week and enjoyed many a mini-disco. We are considering a return at Christmas.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great family getaway!

Overall the hotel was fantastic! Positives: Good check in, nice rooms/amenities, beautiful beach, clean pools, large variety of food in buffet, and lots to do! Negatives: Lack of beach towels, lack of a-la-carte times, and 700+ drunk/rude S-Trip students.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

The hotel was beautiful. The grounds were amazing, so clean and well maintained. The food was great, especially the selection of restaurants that you could go to without having to make a reservation. There were a few days that on return to the room from being at the beach all day, the room was still not cleaned. We had a few days where we just asked for clean towels. (Would have preferred the room cleaned). Other than that happy with our stay.

Occidental Caribe: Solid 3.5 Stars Experience potential for 4

Spring Break Stay with lots of college students on ground. Knowing that, there are separate pools if you need to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Condo style resort with good food, beach and service. Staff spoke very limited English but we had a Spanish speaking person with us so we were good most of the time. Rooms keys timed out and needed daily registrations at the front desk; found that fairly frustrating. top floors have vaulted ceilings but water pressure was lousy along with hot water [... read more] availability. Make sure to check out the Pizzeria upstairs in the main Pool Area for great pizza and a spectacular view of the of ocean. Daily entertainment was fantastic both daytime and evening. Bring American money tip and travel in taxis. 40 minutes from Higuey, 20 minutes to San Juan shopping centre and 5 minutes to Punta Blanca Shopping Market. Come visit with low expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised liked us. Cheers and Happy Travels!!!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Best vacation ever

The pool with the swim up bar was great. I participated in activities that were put on by the staff. The beach was nice. Spent a whole day playing each volleyball. Everything and everywhere on the resort was clean. The food choice was really good. The staff were very kind and helpful. Great choice of excursions. My group did the catamaran cruise and it was one of the best day we had there. Definitely a resort I would and have already recommended.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort for cost

Hotel grounds and amenities are beautiful. Lots to do as its a huge resort complex. Rooms and staff are very nice. Only reason not a 5 Star is that the food is just "OK", nothing fantastic. Beach is a bit rough for swimming but great to look at! TripCentral was great to deal with for booking. For what we paid - we were very happy with our entire experience.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Exceeded Expectations

the grounds were beautiful, staff lovely and value quite exceptional. The water park was a great hit with the kids. Rooms were large a little on the outdated could be cleaner. All restaurants and buffets were excellent. Loved the house peacocks there were 11 on the resort.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Excellent resort

The resort was excellent. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Very happy I had the platimum package. Felt like you were on a resort within a resort. A friend recommended it. She stayed there a few times. Would highly recommend It.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Too Big

We stayed in the adults only section. The resort was too large for our liking. We went to two restaurants and one had no ravioli and another no mushrooms to go with my steak. Service was ok. I think you get better service in smaller resorts. The room was ok. Food was fine. In the family area there was a huge buffet, but it was very busy and noisy as was the rest of the main lobby area which was the family area of the resort. The resorts grounds were well kept, the pool was very nice.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: nice resort for the most part

The food selection was good. Highlights were the Brazilian, Italian and Mexican restaurant; the gourmet was so-so but the Asian/Japanese was a let down. How can you possibly screw up seafood when your source is right in the backyard of your facility??? The vendors in the resort were annoying, i found the vendors right outside of the resort way better as they gave you room to check out their wares. There were lots of Europeans at the resort and i found many of them to be extremely rude not only t [... read more]o staff but to other guests as well. There were some awesome staff on site, the price of the 10 day plan was good hence why i would recommend this place again. The rooms were clean and decent. The pool bar tucked away by building 12, the bartenders there made the best mojitos! That particular bar was almost a secret, you gotta check it out!

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Excellete

To Start, Now Larimar was a great resort. The staff are all incredibly hard workers. Servers always prompt and polite. Rooms very clean and modern. Food was good and the buffet was also good. Our favorite restaurant was the Japanese. We didn't make it to the French but only heard great reviews. The entertainment staff were Top notch. Kids loved them and were very hard workers. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort, food was boring

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Beautiful

The rooms was awesome and clean. The only thing disappointing were the weeds in the water and on the beach although they worked all day at keeping it clean. Food was good but sometime seemed not cooked enough. Wasn't not impressed with the lack of money exchange at the front desk. No ATM on site the one at the market did not work so you were not able to access more money. The stores only took credit cards or charging to your room.

Secrets Royal Beach: Amazing beach, fantastic staff and very relaxing.

At first we were quite disappointed when we arrived, we booked a swim up room and were told they upgraded us to an ocean view room (view was from the corner), we told the guy at check in that we specifically booked a swim up and we wanted it, I said just tell us it's not available today and he said you are right, it's not available today but we will move you to the swim up tomorrow. Anyway, we asked about preferred and as compensation for not having swim up the first night, we were given preferr [... read more]ed our entire 7 night stay. Some may not care about preferred but we were so happy to have gotten it as the Seaside Grill in preferred was fantastic and had the best staff (Pedro, Carlos, Jorge, Edwin, Melvin and all the others which I cannot remember their names). I am a celiac (gluten allergy) and it is very scary to eat at a buffet or places without gluten allergy knowledge, Pedro at the Seaside was knowledgable and directed the staff to what I was and wasn't allowed on the menu. Our favorite meals at seaside were the shrimp starter, chicken, vegetables with butter and the grouper (delicious). We read many views that the food wasn't great but we really enjoyed seaside and blue water grill, unfortunately I still don't believe they are very knowledgable on gluten and it would've been great if they had gluten free deserts, crackers and bread (it makes the person you are with uncomfortable to have deserts when the other person has nothing available for them to enjoy other than fruit). I have to add that this was the most amazing beach, I have been to many tropical destinations but this beach was by far the best one. We rented a cabana for one day from 10-5 pm, we had a butler and his name was Mr. Marcelo, he was so fantastic, willing to get you a drink, snacks, take pictures, you name it. I have to say that the day we spent with Mr. Marcelo at the beach, was one of the best days there, it was a bit windy (thank god cause we would have melted) but the cabana, snacks, champagne with orange juice and the fruit there while tanning or reading a book was heaven. One thing that would've been nice would be to have a bigger pool, although we loved laying on the blue mats on the lazy river outside our room. All in all after we settled, this trip was the first time we could've stayed longer and we were very sad to leave. The staff are amazing and try to go out of their way to make you happy, my Nellies at the buffet went out of her way to prepare me a smoothie each morning and her smile and giggle super sweet and she did it without expecting a tip ever. I will say that I know it's all inclusive but I didn't see many people tip which was awful as these people help make it paradise for you, so one should tip. They definitely do love us Canadians!!!!! We will be back and truly miss all the sun and relaxation.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Great Holiday!

Wonderful vacation! Very clean, well kept resort. Service was amazing, friendly staff. Food was way better than expected and readily available. Reservations were difficult to get in a few restaurants so we settled for the buffet and discovered how fabulous the food was there too! Rooms were a bit out dated, but tons of light and close to everything. Not a lot of activities so a holiday for pure relaxation.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Amazing

The resort was fabulous and this was our second time there so I am sure we will be back. Love the people, atmosphere and the food was always good and the beach bbq and pizza place were all you needed no need to go anywhere else.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

This is an amazing resort in the Punta Cana area. We took our family of 5 and had two bedroom lockoff. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The Beach is where we spent most of our time. Beautiful white sand beach. Great for swimming, long walks and relaxing. Never had to worry about getting chairs at the beach or pool areas. The resort grounds are well maintained with long winding paths and beautifully maintained gardens. There are many restaurants on site and we visited most of them and al [... read more]ways seem to receive good service and food. They have a sports area with tennis, archery, badminton, ping pong, soccer and basketball. We used these facilities every morning and had a great time. Overall service was friendly and adequate. We would recommend this resort to all ages as the resort(s) is quite large with many things to do. We did not leave the resort as we felt it had everything to offer for our family.
