Barcelo Maya Colonial: Wonderful Resort

Have only wonderful things to say about this resort. Group of 5 of us went for 7 days. Beautiful and clean grounds. Nice to check out the other hotels along the beach. Food and à la carts were great. Won’t go hungry. Entertainment was good. Area by the palace had the best swimming. Great snorkeling there. The staff do their best to upkeep the grounds.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Good resort. Beach not as pictured.

|This resort is beautiful when lit up at night! Good variety of food available, 24 hour snack bar, specialty restaurants were great. No swim up bar, but there is a bar close to the pool, the lobby, and the beach. Small resort means less walking to get to amenities, but still lots of spaces for guests to sit. Room was as expected, but we backed onto the street and it was loud. Bartenders made fabulous drinks. Hotel giftshop is expensive, and exchange rate on credit card is even worse. Had a sligh [... read more]t problem at check-out. Our trip confirmation email said noon, but the hotel said it was 11am, tried to charge us an additional fee by the hour! We disputed it. Our airport shuttle pick up was scheduled for 5:10pm due to evening flight. The hotel said we were all inclusive until 3pm only. The beach area is very small, and in a bay busy with boats. There was alot to watch, but not a serene beach experience. Zero nightlife after 11pm, daily 7pm piano player is fab, 9pm nightly entertainer was fun. My favorites were Circus night and Karaoke. Some of the guests are so talented!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Best vacation ever!

Absolutely stunning and massive resort. Rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. Food was amazing (buffets and a la cartes). Pool was massive. Beach was fantastic with amazing snorkeling - we saw sea turtles, stings rays and tons of fish! Staff were so attentive. Wildlife was amazing (we saw coatis, deer and spider monkeys right on the resort)! Highly, highly recommend!

Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All Inclusive: Excellent Experience

Travelled with 4 adults and 4 kids under 5. Shuttle from airport was easy via Nexus. Grounds are beautiful and perfectly kept. The food was honestly amazing. Buffet breakfast and lunch had so many options and all the servers are so kind and friendly. Note that you HAVE to book a speciality restaurant at night for dinner. There is no regular buffet dinner but we preferred that. We booked all of our 7 nights within an hour of arriving at concierge as they tend to fill up. All 5 restaurants are ama [... read more]zing. Loved the churros at the kids club and the cafe at reception for ice cream. Room was perfect - new and clean. Very comfy beds and housekeeping was great at working around our baby's nap schedule. We were in Casa 6 in front of the kids area which was easy to get to the kids pool, adult pool and breakfast and lunch easy at Vela Sur. The Kids club is also amazing and the staff is great. We brought on own pack and play in case they didn't have a crib ready but there was one in our room (note that the crib can fit in the shower if you are trying to get some separation at night.) Pools were warm and loved that you could walk the length of the property on the beach. It got more busy towards the end of the stay which could mean waiting for shuttles to and from your room and the main area but we never had any issues. Would highly recommend this property for families and would go back!

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Mixed Emotions

Although we've landed at this airport many times, this is the first time we actually stayed in the Cancun area. The weather was not great - cloudy and occasional showers all week, but the wind blew every day!! So much so that the ocean was off limits a couple of times. I could be wrong, but I believe the location of this resort contributes to the windy conditions. The beach is very narrow, and they've had to put sand bags down, probably to slow down the erosion. The beach is better just a short  [... read more]walk away to the next resort (or condo). The service was great. We appreciated the waiter service poolside, or to your lounge chair on the beach. This isn't offered at every resort. The restaurant staff is also very hard working and friendly. Appreciated the coffee bar in the lobby - this is also something we look for in a resort. Our room was .... okay. It needed repairs, and there was a sewage smell coming from the shower drain. We had a balcony, which was great, as not all rooms had one. The room was clean, and the maid service was done early. This resort doesn't hand out wrist bands, and doesn't issue towel cards. I think they should rethink the towel card policy, as people would just walk away from their lounge chairs without taking their towels with them. Then you didn't know if the chair was still 'taken' or not. However, the resort did have a gentleman who would monitor these things, and would gladly remove towels for you if he felt they were abandoned. There is shopping within walking distance, although prices are up, and bargains are hard to find anywhere. There were also beach vendors around ... not too many, and not aggressive. I also felt there was a little too much selling going on inside the hotel - either for excursions, for the spa, or for the Preferred Service (where you get to pay extra for exclusive areas on the beach, pool, etc.). I guess I had a different idea of what the 'Dreams' brand was, and overall came away disappointed.

Playa Mazatlan: Mariachi Madness

The hotel was beautiful, the staff were amazing, the pools were nice, everything was clean. The food was okay. The beach, however, was completely unenjoyable. The Mariachi bands were relentless. They were extremely loud and played for most of the day. They even played over top of each other like they were having some sort of Mariachi war. We didn't reserve a lot of time to relax on the beach as we did a lot of touring and sightseeing, but the little time we did try, it was unbearable. Part o [... read more]f going to a resort with a beach, is being able to enjoy the beach. It was not just our hotel either, there was no escaping it. They were from one end of the beach to the other. At one time this wasn't allowed because there were rules posted inside the palapas that stated "Abiding with NOM-081-SEMARNAT-1994 (Noise Pollution) and looking to offer a pleasant stay for all our guests, hiring bands of music groups in front of hotel property is prohibited." Ironic reading this as the boom from the tuba launched my heart into my throat. We won't consider going back until a time when this is enforced again.

Villas Coral Huatulco: Awesome vacation!!

A wonderfully hotel . Amazing staff and awesome food!!! Would definitely come back again. Two weeks was not long enough. Special thanks to all the staff in the hotel for making it a great holiday. See you next year.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Great vacation

The grounds were outstanding. Love the feeling of being in nature. Food at the buffet was good. The Asian restaurant was very loud and the food was disappointing. We had to upgrade our home. Our original room was dark and musty. The upgrade room was on a second floor, much brighter but still musty. Bed was very comfy. Wished there would have been bicycles available.

Riu Caribe Cancun: Acceptable Vacation

I paid more for this resort than I did for my vacation in Sept 2025 staying at a villa. In most resorts the restaurants are a dining experience but here the restaurants are buffet with a served entree. I didn't have eat at Kulinarium because they gave me a pager and told me that it would be a 15 min wait but when I came back 30 min later to see what was going on, the restaurant was all set up and empty. The bad part was I proceeded to the buffet and it was closed so I had to settle for a sandw [... read more]ich at the sports bar. I don't think the buffet lives up to RIU standards. I would categorize it to be weak. The rooms seemed to have been renovated and very nice. As a single traveler I paid a $500 surcharge and was given a room that overlooked a back alley with a Taxi waiting zone. I didn't complain or ask to be moved. Room service was very thorough. I didn't find the pool bar staff to be overly friendly until they were tipped. I must say in general I didn't see a lot of tipping. I DO TIP!!. The Lobby Bar & Sports Bar were very friendly and efficient, popcorn & peanuts a great touch. I didn't experience any problem for a lounge chair and I didn't come out before 8:30am. The stretch of beach is only the width of the resort. I like to walk past many resorts. Property is in good condition. Check in and out was good. I wasn't to impressed that on departure, I wasn't allowed to take my duffle bag on wheels into the buffet because it was considered a carry-on. but inflated back packs were allowed. I've been travelling twice a year to Mexico for 35 years and never experienced this.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Partyish Resort!

I visited solo for my birthday and It was perfect for being solo. Pros: easy checkin, multiple resturant options, buffet always available, spacious rooms, amazing staff, various bars, rooftop accessible for non premium members alcohol at charge, dj club vibes at night on the 3rd floor, beach front access Cons: reservations required for the resturants, one pool on main level for non premium members, music was very outdated, activities offered could be more creative -one night it was bingo  [... read more]lol, beach was beautiful but the current was strong

Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club: Awesome resort…

If you’re OK to take a 10-15 minute shuttle to the beach. The beach club was lovely. I was a little disappointed in how many vendors were allowed on the beach considering it is a “private” beach club. Food at all of the restaurants was amazing. I would say the best of any resort I’ve been to. Rooms were clean and comfortable the AC was a little noisy. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I didn’t like that there was vendors every evening and where our room was we pretty much had to walk past them and they were aggressive. I think 1 time per week is sufficient for off site vendors. Overall I give this resort an 8.5/10

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Reasonable

The grounds were lovely and the beach of course is amazing. We noticed that the rooms are not very sound proof and that was disappointing. We were not happy with the quality of the draft beer or the a la carte restaurant food. We thought the buffet food and lobby entertainment was great.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Joia Paraiso

Always well tended grounds with attentive staff who make you feel like an old friend though we have been to this hotel multiple times They recognize some of hotel looks are dated and and are planning investment in upgrades shortly

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Food

There was definitely a lot of food in the hotel. However, the buffet needs better chefs. The flavours of the food were really off. The captain morgan grill had the best tasting food overall. I do think that the chef's need a bit of training. Anything fried was totally soaked in oil. As if fried in cold oil. Like I said a lot of good food however taste was not there. The rooms had issues as well, we asked for our tap to be fixed many times. And there was 3 of us in a room we asked for a  [... read more]better room and it was denied as well, even though the hotel was not fully booked.

Riu Flamingos: Better than expected

Overall the newly reno’d hotel met or exceeded my expectations. There was no issue finding seating around the pools with both sunny and shaded areas available. Sadly the beach chairs had zero shade as they, apparently, cut down all the trees. Entertainment was decent, with a good live band at times. Food at the buffet was fine although they need a few lessons in how to carve a roast rather than hack it to bits. The Asian a la carte was just more buffet but the others were fine. Our room was in a [... read more] brand new building so everything worked perfectly. Would I go back? Probably not as it was located well away from anything- 5km to main Nuevo Vallarta and 12km to PV itself.

Thank you Angelina for choosing an amazing resort to spend with my family. Resort was very clean the staff were always willing to help. Food at buffet and the restaurants was delicious. Lots of activities for all ages. Loved watching my grandkids snorkel in the ocean was priceless. Thanks so much.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

We really enjoyed our stay, This is by far the largest resort my wife and I have ever stayed at, The resort is kept very clean, pools were great and the food was amazing. Most importantly the staff that worked at the resort were for nice.There were lots of restaurants and bars you did not have to go far to get food or drinks and of course the waiters were everywhere and always willing to help

Catalonia Yucatan: Great location

Just spent two weeks there. Rooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. There is great pool space and seemed like there were enough loungers at the pool and the water. The attention to food allergies was top notch. They ask at every meal if there are allergies and they took my gf around to show her what was available for her. They even cooked for her separately. It’s a short walk into town. The shows next door were great. They could use a lounge bar in the evening. We had a 5 al La car [... read more]te max in two weeks. We had 3 to choose from. It is a chill resort. Livelier next door, which we had access to. Beach is rocky but there is a way in that is sandy. Good snorkeling in front of the resort.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great resort

The Grand Palladium is a wonderful resort. Very clean, staff are exceptional and the food at the buffet was very good. It wasn't overly busy which was good. My daughter loved the teen club and looked forward to spending time there with friends. It was the perfect family vacation.
