Riu Palace Antillas: Wonderful in every Way!

Sept 3-Oct2/23 wonderful experience, ROOM 1014, couldn’t have asked for more, maid service and fridge stocking was great. ($5 a day and) always had towel swans, 3 facecloths, clean towels and beer and pop in fridge. Didn’t even use booze dispenser. BEACH AND POOL both great, yes had to get towels on beds at ocean early but staff always there to help. Ocean had small dip getting in for us older folks on one windy day. FOOD, ate at Buffett, can’t go wrong, lots of variety. (Went to one Al la carte, Italian, not very good Lasagna,, but some meals looked ok, not much to choose from. We got soup for starter, but it was SALAD OR SOUP, make sure you pick salad bar cause the salad bar had tons of stuff (should not be one or other) we left hungry. DRINKS WERE very good, sure had lots of variety! If I had to say one negative it would be that there is no bar service AT THE BEACH and for us older folks the walk was not easy.lol Elevators worked, always got clean beach towels from a very friendly lady. If you need room service, not much variety. We were MORE THAN EMPRESSSED!! Love to go back but flight seemed long in “sunwing sardine can” with no movies, snacks, one glass of water and no movies, one window per 2 rows.

Riu Dunamar: Amazing resort!!!!

We loved this hotel. It is newer and very clean. All the staff are very nice. The rooms were beautiful and cold. The food was amazing and the a la carte restaurants were all good. The beach was the softest I have ever seen with lots of shade and sun. The pools were fun and the entertainment games were different each day. The night entertainment was the best I have ever seen ( you have to go just for the RIU party - OMG ). The waterslides were a nice change for something different. Riu Palace Antillas: No medics on site

I got a nasty cut to my arm on the first day. When elevator door closed on my arm and I was surprised at lack of medical attention available. But up and above it was a beautiful resort and the staff were tremendous 🥰🥰🥰

Riu Latino: Beautiful Ocean

Best part was the ocean! Ocean was clean. Minimal to no seaweed made for lots of swimming! Long shoreline in either direction was ideal for long walks. Pools were nice and but only swam in 3/5. Water slides were a blast!

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Wonderful resort and amazing experience

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres is a great resort. Super clean, food is great, service is very professional, the entertainment activities are constant and the staff is excellent, beach and pools are amazing. I had a great experience at this resort and definitely will come back

Riu Dunamar: Fantastic resort

Just returned, this resort is fabulous. Food was delicious, service excellent, the resort itself is very well taken care of and clean. The beach is beautiful. We did not spend any time at the pools so I can't speak for them. I would definitely go back at the same time, the resort was not busy and was mostly families.

Riu Flamingos: Wonderful, inviting place to visit

The staff were incredible, so happy and accommodating no matter what the circumstances. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Food was good, accommodation was great, clean and tidy. We were very well looked after. Thank you

Riu Tequila: Great resort

The Tequila is a beautiful resort, with excellent staff always willing to serve you with a smile. The a la carte restaurants offers delicious food between the Steak house and Italian. Don't be shy to request anything you want and they will try thier best to accommodate you. Great resort.

Riu Republica: Gone downhill

Here is what we put on facebook over 2 posts First post So we landed Tuesday. We were here back in 2019 and loved it. This time. Not so much. Here is my halfweek review: Restaurant: Food is not what we remember. I've never been to a resort where A la carts are first come first serve. The buffet is good but typical. Today my omlette was made with a huge chunk of cheese just in the middle. It was edible. But just laziness on the cooks part. Rooms: Sub par for a 5 star. Our toilet seat  [... read more]is not attached properly and if I had to guess has never been attached. Pic attached 3 small lumpy pillows that remind me of a half filled bag of chips. No cases on them yesterday. I've made 3 requests for extra pillows. Rooms are hot. 25 to 29 degrees all day. We have been back to the front to have cards reprogrammed as they stop working randomly. This is a theme I had seen on other posts. Three times so far Drinks We are experienced travelers so we brought bubba for beer and yeti for other drinks. I've had a few mudslides here but yesterday they made one with sour milk. I could tell on my first sip. This isn't one that sat out in the sun for hours. Freshly made. Could tell right away it was off. Poured it out myself in the bathroom. Chunky. I'm sure half cut I might not have noticed right away. Asked for a rye and Pepsi. In the yeti (35 ounce) and it was half rye half Pepsi. I watched the bartender open a new bottle and pour a third of it in and add Pepsi. I tried to get him to stop. I know the vibe of the resort is party. But this much alcohol is honestly dangerous. I did pour half out add Pepsi and had a great drink. But pay attention. I won't rate the beach as the water is choppy due to hurricane Lee and we have made the decision to be safe. The sunset was unreal and will be where we take our trip picture to put in our frame. It is truly beautiful and only slightly behind cuba and way better than anything in Mexico Be clear this is not a luxury adult 5 star resort. It is a party oriented 4 star and it does that wonderfully. We are having a great time but it will be our last time. It is very tired compared to 2019. At two years old it was great. Now they put the tiles falling off pool at the edge to be picked up by staff. They have installed "speedbumps" on the table in the party pool to prevent it being used as a slid as we saw in 2019. Maybe it was a safety issue. Again very inconsistent. Throughout. Tips are the only way to get service. I shouldn't have to bribe to get basics. I know there are a ton of people who will Disagree and say it's a great place. And for someone looking to party all week it's perfect. For me. It's a pass next time. Second post Just wanted to do a follow up to my midweek review. I am likely going to get a little more flack this time around. The second half of the week went the same as the first half. Disappointing They did send someone to fix the toilet seat. But he left without fixing it. I did get 2 extra pillows on day 5 And we had our room cards recoded a total of 4 times. Twice both having to be done. But where things went downhill is when safety became a concern. When I say this I am one to be fearful but my partner does get a little sheepish during conflict. We were not involved but just in close proximity. Likely a love spat. But the crashing and banging drew the attention of more than one security and I believe ended someone's vacation early. Video from our balcony. I understand the resort can't be held accountable for someone's actions but they create an atmosphere that drives this. It's a party resort and not anything else. Lastly the general over demeanor of staff is miserable. We don't get smiles returned and tips are expected not welcomed. Overall my experience has stamped in to not come back and we are now having our friends bridal party of 9 look elsewhere. I do want to end this review on a positive so a huge shout out to Daniel at the activity/party pool Alejandro at the lobby bar Brian (female) at the second stage bar. (Furthest from the beach) And Edwar from the smaller buffet. That guy should have been in the NBA. These folks did make us feel great — with Delaney Hoage.

Riu Dunamar: Completely dissatisfied

Hello, I’d like to start off by saying that this is not my first time at a Riu, nor my first time in Mexico, nor my first all inclusive vacation. I travel frequently, within Canada , the U.S, Europe and Caribbean. This was by far the worst vacation I have ever taken. I’m only going to list the cons, as these are the basis for my overall complaint: 1. No bar down by the beach (there are servers who come, but it’s a far walk for them & a lot of beach to cover) 2. Our water in  [... read more]our room was not stocked & we had to ask multiple times for someone to re-stock; people should have water each& every day during their stay. 3. Liquor across the resort was Bottom shelf swill that was disgusting . 4. No room service, which is very frustrating if you are not well & can't make it out of your room. 5. 24 hour snack bar is laughable - microwave hamburgers, soggy hot dogs & stale nachos hardly qualify for something worthy of a snack bar. 6. There was poo floating in the water on the beach everyday. I have yet to ever see this anywhere but at the Riu Dunamar. 7. The beds were incredibly small; looked and felt smaller than a double bed, but larger than a twin , but either way, was uncomfortable for my husband and I to share . 8. Thé A/C must be set on an energy savings plan, as the setting could not be changed & the a/c temp was less than satisfactory. 9. The staff do not speak English (the front desk is fairly fluent). Used google translate to communicate most of the time. 10. A buffet server told my husband & I that we could not eat our plates of food we already had in our hands due to closing (there were ppl eating at tables still). She used her cleaning cloth to push the placemat and utensils on the ground, followed by her walking away. INCREDIBLY RUDE behaviour never seen anywhere other than at the Riu Dunamar. 11. My Sons things were stolen from his room, an investigation was done and the cleaner advised she thought they were garbage and threw them out. They wanted to reimburse us for some of it but also have us sign something - no thanks! Tell your staff not to steal, discipline them for it, perhaps screen them properly and not take anyone off the street . Again, I have yet to experience this anywhere except for at the Riu dunamar. 12. My entire family of 8 had stomach & bathroom issues related to the food / drink despite taking dukorol. 13. Thé entertainment is amateur, geared to kids & unworthy of attention. That’s the one thing I look forward to on vacation; I was bummed & underwhelmed. 14. At a family resort, they have adult only pools (swim up bar pools). My daughter who is 14 was the only one of our family members who was not allowed in this pool. We were approached by security and she was asked to get out of the pool. She was incredibly sad and cried over the securitys agressive and uncalled for tone / behaviour. there was a blow out over this between me, my son and the security. I still can’t understand the reason for this policy seeing as the bars all over the resort at ANY time of night were allowing young children to occupy bar stools (entertainment bar, and sports bar). Not to mention other resorts allow kids in the swim up bar pool. Again, something not experienced any where other than at the Riu dunamar. 15. The a la cartes were awful , usually these are the better choices and quality of foods at a resort. That was disappointing. 16. The elevators were small and not air conditioned. 17. The front desk wasn’t informative when we checked in and we had to ask multiple questions throughout the stay. Also blindsided by the tax amount upon check in.. they would only accept pesos and it was more than told by our agent. 18. They had no coffee bar, which was disappointing. 19. There were army men / police officers walking the beach armed. This was scary & prompted me to google the resort … which led me to read about a shooting on the beach at the resort. 20. No umbrellas at the beach. I’m fair skinned and need some relief from the sun. 21. My parents room had a awful smell of musty old water or mould. 22. The pools closed at 7, and not allowed in after this. 23. There was no lighting down at the beach at night, so you couldn’t enjoy a late night dip or walk on the beach. 24. The resort was boring to say the least. Overall, I had the worst time away at an all inclusive here. There are fundamentals that I expect from a self proclaimed 5* resort were not met. I think that resorts like this need to be mindful in brand integrity as I do expect a certain base minimum for a Riu. I encourage management to review the feedback I’ve seen on many reviews similar to mine and make changes. Surely the ratings equate to a 3 star resort - truly disappointing to have spent a total of $11,440 cad to celebrate a 65th birthday with my mom here; waste of my family’s vacation time and money.

Riu Republica: Was great‼️

Lots of fun partys, the jungle party along with the neon and a few other partys was lit. The music got kind of repetitive at the events but other than that i didnt even mind after a few shots. Lots nice & friendly people that just want to have fun..lots of nice & beatiful women... nice weather, great food, i enjoyed it🔥 riu republica‼️💗

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort !

The resort is very clean, the people are very nice. The food is nice, no complaint. The activities on site are very nice too. It’s a very nice place if you want to disconnect. There is one big buffet and 5 other restaurants that are very nice except the n italian one

Riu Ocho Rios: Everything you need to relax!

The hotel has many rooms and yet you never feel like it’s crowded! There is beachfront for all who chose it, and beach loungers for all. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable beds. The buffet can satisfy any taste, and a Jamaican corner of foods at every meal and every day is appealing to those who go for the Jamaican foods!! Entertainment is wholesome, family friendly fun! The resort overall is quieter, And a relaxed ambiance about it.

Riu Republica: Had fun

My boyfriend and I had a great time. The beach was beautiful and we took a walk on it each day. They had many different kinds of food that wasn’t too bad. I wish the restaurants that they has would serve you food, they were all buffet style, except for the steak house. The pool that has a swim up bar and music, the water was filthy. Our room key, probably six out of the seven days stopped working on us and we had to go to the front desk to get a new one that’s was frustrating. If you don’t go to the RIU parties there’s not much going on during the day at the resort I felt. It would be nice if more of the RIU parties were during the night and not during mid day and dinner time. Either way I still enjoyed myself.

Riu Reggae: Fantastic resort!

Everything about Riu Reggae is amazing. Great staff, beautiful beach and pools. The food is the best out of any resort I've visited. The rooms were clean and well stocked. Will definitely be back! ..............................................................................................................................................

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Not sure how to evaluate

The location of resort is amazing , very nice beach and Tiffany color sea, there is a great local public restaurant 2 min walking serving lobsters . Regarding resort - my first impression was good , one of the perks - you can get a free coconuts that grow right on the trees in the resiort , their restaurants are amazing , especially wow to the one that has a purple colour - don’t remember the name . Buuuuut - my phone was STOLEN, my daughter left the phone in the main cafeteria - I got back 2  [... read more]min later , it was just gone -they said they will do investigation, but no one even got back to me with updates , also forgot my shoes in the room - sent the email to see if they saw it , and no of course - shows were stolen . And the biggest thing - my husband and my son were bitten by something , new bites eoykd appear on their skin every morning , I bilieve it’s bad bugs , and pray we didn’t bring any to the house . Loved negrill loved Jamaican people - but will never return to this hotel will not recommend to my friends , another thing we saw a cockroaches in our room

Riu Latino: Not a 5 star hotel

This hotel is new and therefore very clean. The night shows are mediocre and sometimes no show whatsoever. The food is same for lunch and dinner . There is nothing to do in the evenings. The beach is far from the hotel and the path to the beach should be much longer.

Riu Vallarta: Palm Tree Paradise

We had a wonderful stay at RIU Vallarta. Excellent food, endless entertainment by enthusiastic and friendly staff and the rooms (adjoining) were well stocked, immaculately clean and serviced every day.

Riu Dunamar: Awesome Resort

We were there last aug 19-26 2023 and it was a memorable experience. The hotel overall was very good the food was great , I can see that they try to do their best to give people a good food everyday diff.
