Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: one week at Senator D.R
Beautiful grounds. Well maintained, Very large resort, a lot of walking. Buffet food was good with lots of variety. Specialty restaurants disappointing. Very few staff spoke English so there was difficulty with communication. Minor issues with A/C and hot water, were resolved quickly. Biggest issue was lack of lounge chairs poolside, even though there was plenty of room for more chairs. Reception was smooth, and staff very helpful. The only unfriendly person we encountered was our porter who too [... read more]
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: So nice to return to our second home
Each time we visit it is more beautiful than the time before. The grounds are beyond nice. The gardeners and ground maintenance crews have the property manicured. It's hard to pass the lobby area without seeing the ladies cleaning and mopping all the walkways. The food is great with many choices as is the ala cartes, I gained 10 lbs in 10 days. All that being said the reason we keep returning is the wonderful staff (nuestra familia ). Nunez, Robin, Skinny, Chicken Little, Alexander, Wilkie, Loui [... read more]
VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Okay Resort! Not worth the value!
However the resort is extremely misleading in many categories. It caters to a 40 plus crowd easily and also to the French as well they treat return guests much better then first timers. Those added perks we paid for essentially the extra $300 completely not worth it at all the rooms are run down in the Catalina and Sanoa buildings. The Vintage club is completely underwhelming.Guests at premium level do not receive fruit baskets as per what Transat says in the package. The entertainment I give a [... read more]
Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Great value for the money
The Lifestyle Tropical resort is a beautiful well maintained property ...consisting of 2 large hotels and other accomodations Room are large...excellent houskeeping..staff are great and friendly Very high security to enter property Food is very good from the buffet to al carte restaurants..nightly entertainment Family friendly .good place to stay for a vacation
Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort
Everything great except they do not accept Cnd. money at their hotel currency exchange.!! Only U.S. and Euro's. Had to get taxi($60 U.S. return) to change money at City currency exchange. I believe you should highlight this when advising clients visiting this hotel to perhaps change at airport on arrival. Entertainment at night is pathetic, grade 5 school level. T.V. has NO shows in English for kids or adults. Surely they can afford U.S. cable stations?? [... read more]
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Good resort
We were there for 2 weeks. No real complaints. We had air conditioning and a ceiling fan and showers were usually warm. The bathrooms are constantly being cleaned and ground maintenance staff work hard to keep everything looking clean and beautiful! The food is great- large buffet with something for everyone! Hard to imagine anyone leaving hungry! Lack of loungers were a bit of an issue- had to be up early to get them but apparently on order waiting to come in .
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: A beautiful resort!
Our group of six had an amazing time at the Senator Resort and Spa. This was our second trip to the resort and we would definitely like to return. The food was great and we loved the beach, especially when the cruise came and went. Only one rainy day during our thirteen day stay.
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Super holiday resort
This resort is one of the cleanest resorts in the public areas. Always cleaning floors etc. Room was perfect and air conditioning and fan worked. Beds are very comfortable. This was our second visit here and will definately be back.
Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Good Value for Money
Overall, my partner and I both felt that the resort was good value for the cost. The grounds were well-kept, rooms were clean, and food was tasty! With that said, it is definitely not a 5* and there were several things that could be improved... Our main qualm was that the evenings are extremely loud due to the disco/partying. Due to the small size of the resort there is only one pool and I think having a quiet section would be a significant improvement for those of us that are more keen on relax [... read more]
VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Loved it !
Small resort which we like . The staff were great ! Entertainment is ok but it’s not Vegas . If you want Vegas style then go there . I found the food a little repetitive after a week but certainly didn’t go hungry . Going for our third time next month !
Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Excellent resort!
The hotel is very clean, with nice rooms, a nice view to the garden; it is close to the beach, with very friendly employees, and variety of good food and drinks. The barmaids are not looking for tip to serve you; it is up to you to leave a tip or not. The restaurants around are very good with lot of choices.
Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing fun filled week
This resort is very clean and the gardeners are constantly tending the grounds. Food was great always had a variety of food to pick from. The pool was nice as well as the beach. Windy at times but still amazing . The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hoping to return.
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Very nice resort!!
The hotel was very clean and the grounds were well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our television went on the fritz the second night there, next day we had a new one. Food was delicious, we will be returning.
VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: First trip since covid
One of the best resorts I stayed at From a very smooth check-in to one of the first time in many trips the request of a joining room was received, all the staff from the groundskeepers to the maids to all the bartenders and Waiters were very friendly and always helpful we specially liked our waiters and bartenders in the premium VIP lounge and beach bar, buffet and all the restaurants were very good especially like the octopus restaurant i had a amazing salmon dinner, pool and grounds were alw [... read more]
Playabachata Hotel: Loved it
We were very happy with our stay at Playabachata Resort. Our room was good and in a great location. We were in the Coral Section which is the quieter end of the resort and located near the quiet pool and right near the ocean. The landscape of this resort is the best we have ever been at. The staff was wonderful and they work so hard all the time. We have to thank Maria at the front desk who helped us with a few small issues we did have. With the second buffet being closed at the time we were the [... read more]
Playabachata Hotel: Not for me
This resort needs quite a bit of updating. The rooms (3 of them) that we had were in need of fixing up whether it was a broken faucet or the jiggly front door handle that moved every which way when opening or the faulty sensor/wiring on the sliding door that turns on and off the A/C. We did not enjoy the food. This is a 3 star hotel at best. We ended up upgrading to the resort next door
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Senator puerto plata was just ok.
We spent one week there and that was enough. We upgraded to swim up pool. Room was nice but small, we had a/c but no hot water and shower had no water pressure had to use sink to rinse hair out fully. Food was ok it got better as week went on. No complaints about service but staff does look for tips. We saw a lot of over serving of alcohol, some other hotel guest getting sick in pool and on sidewalks. Definitely won’t return.
Playabachata Hotel: Overall good trip
The resort grounds are well maintained. If you like a wavy beach this is the perfect place! My room was comfortable, the ceiling fan was good enough to cool off (I never tried turning the AC on). There were several employees with poor attitudes, I focused on the good ones. Liz was the best bartender and very sweet. There was lots of selection at the buffet, however I found the food very oily. The internet only works at the lobby, which was fine for me. The less time in my phone during vacation [... read more]
Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Nice Resort
The overall resort was nice, some areas need some work, signs of wear and tear. The food was great for adults, wish more options for kids at buffet like French fries, hot dogs, etc. The room/building needed alot of work, front door didnt close properly unless slammed, if door wasnt not locked it would open by itself, closet doors wouldnt close. Patio door wouldnt open on track properly from right side. Mold visible in the artwork and lamp shades. Lighting switches would not properly, sometimes [... read more]
Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Mediocre resort
staff was pleasant ,food was good. Way to much stairs not good for elders or disability, very hard beds, no hot water entire week, very outdated and dirty/unkept rooms. Very unclear where activities were as they never say the locations. Very little entertainment or activities for kids including meals.
