Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Covid Cautious

Travelled to the Memories Caribe in the month of July 2021. The staff were excellent but show outward signs of being very fearful of Covid. They follow safety protocols which I found to be comforting but what you are not told is that most of the tourists at this resort are made up of Russians who have not been vaccinated. They do not abide or follow any Covid safety measures. If this is a problem for you I suggest you stay home. Food is good but not fancy. Overall I loved this resort for its quaint size and very friendly staff. I would definitely return.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing resort

It's been over a year since I took my vacation to Cuba and stayed at Memories Varadaro Beach Resort. I was hoping to take another trip to Cuba but with the global pandemic, unfortunately that was not an option. However, my experience at this beautiful resort was unforgettable. Great trip to Caribe. The staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for you. Beaches are clean and ocean.COVID has greatly reduced the number of visitors which means no line ups at the restaurants or bars. Everyone on the island of Cayo coco gets tested for COVID with results the next day. New arrivals are asked to wear masks until the Covid tests come back Staff always wear masks We will be returning

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Excellent Service and Wonderful Beach, some dodgey anti-COVID measures

I spent 2 weeks here. Pros: - For the most part, the service I received from staff was excellent. I would give them 4.5/5 on service. - The beach is the best one I have visited in Cuba. The water is very shallow, so you have to walk out quite a ways to reach swimming depth, but I didn't need my water shoes because there were no sharp shells or broken coral to step on. - The accommodations were adequately cleaned. - The resort is only 20 minutes from the airport. Cons: - Some of the acc [... read more]ommodations are very run down. The first room I was in did not have a deadbolt. I switched rooms (just across the hall) for the second week, and the room was much better. I would rate the rooms I saw as 2.5/5 - There is a fridge in every room, but they will not put beverages in it unless you pay the extra daily "Diamond Club" fee. They will still give you a 1 litre bottle of water every day. - There was often confusion as to whether the buffet would be open at dinner time, or if it was mandatory to make a reservation at an a la carte for dinner. Sometimes the resort would make that decision at the last minute. - none of the rooms have bug screens on the balcony doors. anti-COVID Measures: Some appeared to be effective, while others were not. - Masks were only mandatory (even indoors) until your COVID test results are received after about 24 hours. So you are staying at a resort with unmasked guests, many of whom are not distancing at all from others. - All of the staff wore their masks appropriately at all times. - At the buffet, there are yellow lines on the floor that guests are not supposed to cross, and staff are supposed to handle all of the plates and serve up the food. The yellow lines create bottlenecks so that there is often no choice but to pass very close to other guests while indoors. I even had several guests touch me and brush up against me in the buffet. I also saw several guests touch the stacks of plates. - There are hand sanitizer stations all over the resort, but only about half of them work. The one outside the dinner reservations office in the lobby stopped functioning by the second week of my stay. I reported the problem multiple times, but the dispenser was never fixed or replaced. This is the door that every guest was forced to touch at least once per day, and there was no nearby functioning dispenser to clean your hands before or after. - There are no hand sanitizer dispensers inside the buffet building. So you sanitize your hands before going in, but then you have to touch the door to pull it open, and many, many guests did not clean their hands before touching it. There are no dispensers inside to clean your hands before receiving or eating a plate of food. Fortunately, I had a small bottle of sanitzer with me that I started bringing to meals so I could clean my hands before touching my food. - None of the tables were 6 feet apart. The resort was at much lower occupancy, which should have allowed for proper distancing during meals. However, the resort closed off half of the buffet seating area, forcing us all to squish into one side. At the a la cartes, it depended on how many people had reservations at the same time as you. Sometimes there was an empty table between myself and the nearest guest, sometimes I was within 2 or 3 feet of someone else. - On the bus ride to the resort (so this would be a problem regardless of which resort you are at): They are still running a side business of selling beer. Then the conductor/guide comes on the microphone and starts asking people if they are happy to be in Cuba, and when we don't respond loudly enough, they say "come on, I can't hear you..." and everyone starts yelling and cheering. I was extremely uncomfortable being in an enclosed, crowded (almost every seat was occupied) space, with yelling people who were not wearing masks because they were drinking beer. I would recommend buying the private transfers if they are available for your trip, as the bus transfer has pretty much zero COVID safety measures. - At the airport on departure: It was standing room only in the terminal, and you are stuck there for 2 hours or more waiting for your plane with strangers, many of whom are choosing not to wear their masks until they get on the plane, and many of whom choose to sit or stand right next to you because the terminal is so crowded. There is a hand sanitzer station outside the airport, but there are none inside the building.

This resort Memories Flamenco is amazing the staff , grounds and facilities are clean and well maintained.This being my favorite resort in all Cuba been here multiple times and hopefully going back in March or April

Sol Turquesa Beach: spent a great 2 weeks

Resort: very big, clean and grands kept well, lots of steps, needs maintain in many areas. Rooms: our 1st room 4.. balcony door did not lock,shower don't have warm water. Manager change our room after 3th days for another room 3.. in new room not working telephone and fridge, they want to change for another room but we decide stay. Housekeeping was great. Food: was the best we have had in Cuba, only no red wine after few days,they would try to sell you. Staff:very friendly and MAKE THE RESORT GREAT !!! Bring with you insect repellent !!! BIG PROBLEM, Russian tourist which were noise, drunk, unpleasant, walk to women toilet, specially at night were noise and nuking to someone doors, no one take care for this from the resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great resort!

The people who work at this resort are amazing! They go out of their way to give you the best vacation ever. It’s an older resort but very clean and well taken care of. Entertainment was fabulous. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a great family vacation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

This was our second year at this resort. The rooms were cleaned, staff very friendly and willing to help of you needed it. The food was great, the beach was fantastic. Entertainment staff did an outstanding job in all evening performances and daytime entertainment as well. There was one person in particular that made our vacation so much better, from getting us taxis to where we wanted to go, make reservations for a la cartes, and even a restaurant off the resort. She really went above and beyond to make our holiday amazing. We will go back every year and look forward to seeing her again.

We arrived late on 3/6 and from the 1st day till we left all the people were great. From the front desk to the grounds keepers they were all friendly and happy. Great beach and good food for Cuba . Would definitely recommend and would go back.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Relaxed

Just came back from Memories Caribe. Very nice resort as it is small enough to get around easily. Large selection of food items, not the place for vegetarians or vegans, not many vegetables or salad selections but a great selection or pork, chicken, beef, pork, fish and pasta make on the grill custom orders and buffet options. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Updating Needed

We stayed at memories flamenco from March 6 to March 13, 2020 and the stay was nice, food was OK and beaches were absolutely beautiful. The accommodations need some updating, and we found that there was very few public restrooms that were available, everything was shut down or flooded. At the pool women and men had to use the same restroom as well as kids. And there was not any lighting in the one restroom. Neither of the doors closed as well. Usually you get a bonus for a repeat customers and we unfortunately didn’t get to do the dinner for repeat customers as it was full, however we did get an extended check out time from noon till 3 PM which was nice. My sister and niece came with us and they both had to shower in our room as their shower was just a trickle of water. No way that they could shower with that. Memories needs to up their game if we’re coming back there.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: 1 good thing - beach

This hotel is in dire need of repair and care. Railings are falling apart. Bathrooms aren’t working. Roaches are in the bathrooms and food areas. Linens need replacing. Locks need fixing. Beds need replacing and attitudes need adjusting. The only thing I wouldn’t change is the beach and sun. Sunwing needs to send undercover representatives to this location to get a true testament of the conditions.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort

Grand Memories was a very enjoyable resort to stay at. The proximity to all areas was the best feature for me since walking long distances was an issue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals were decent. Lots of variety at the buffet area. My room was large and kept very clean each day by Rosa our housekeeper for the week.The balcony faced the pool area which was steps away. I enjoyed the layout of the pool area suitable for kids and adults. Although I did not swim in the ocean [... read more] I walked on the sand and was amazed at the beautiful colour of the water. It was nice to be able to use the facilities at the resort next to Grand Memories also. The nightly entertainment was so amazing at the theatre. Always went early to get a good seat. This was my best trip of the three times going to Cuba and would go back again to Grand Memories. Before leaving I had the opportunity to speak with the manager Ricardo who was very interested in hearing about our stay. 9/10 !!!!!

Memories Paraiso: Amazing resort Memries Paraiso

Resort have built after 2001 and has good dеsign, architecture and equipment. White soft sand is on the beach. Evening events were so enjoyable. Food and service was amazing.I definitely recommend it for every one.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great place

Everything was fantastic. The food was the best I’ve ever had in Cuba. My room was very clean and the staff was fantastic. I was only at the pools but they were amazing. I would go back to this resort again and again.

Memories Paraiso: Resort has gone to crap

This was my family’s 3rd time coming to memories paraiso and will be our last. This place has taken a turn for the worse completely in every single aspect, the staff has changed and lots are very rude and rather talk amongst themselves then actually work. Walking into our room some of the lights didn’t work and the toilet seat wasn’t secured to the toilet, the maid wouldnt change the bed sheets, they wouldn’t bring a pillow case for the extra bed. The worst part is they are just not maintaining this part of the resort like they are the grand and sanctuary and it just takes a quick 5 min walk around to see the difference in quality.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort - But

This was our fourth time at this resort and our suite and the staff were lovely as usual. Our one disappointment was the nightly entertainment in the bar. Once the music stopped the energy in the bar just dropped. The musicians only played for an hour and on our last night there was no entertainment in the bar. My recomendation to the resort is to have two hours of live entertainment every night and when they finish then use the speakers and music that they use around the pool area during th [... read more]e day to provide music in the bar area at night. I hope to hear that they implement this policy so that I will want to continue my yearly visit to this resort.

Memories Jibacoa: Lovely Resort

The Resort itself was incredibly clean for an older resort. I can't say enough about the housekeeping services! I'd give them a 10+ star rating! The grounds, pool and beach are beautiful! Great walking either on the beach or on the road surrounded by the high hills. The food, well what can i say, so plesantly surprised at the abundance of It! There should be no bad reviews on this whatsoever! Beverages, well, pretty much the same quality as most resorts unless you upgrade to Diamond Pkg. [... read more] Oh, and the Manager of the Memories Jibcoba, he was amazing! Interacted with the vacationers and even participated singing and dancing with the local musicians sometimes including his staff! Now I know why there are so many repeat visitors year after year!

Grand Memories Varadero: Needs some TLC

This is my second vacation to Grand Memories within three years . We liked the resort better the first time. Even though this last visit we upgraded to Diamond Club , we found a lot missing and service has significantly deteriorated . On the whole people were friendly but too slow in responding to your requests . Had to beg for towels , there was no hot water in our building for two days . Customer service was not up to standard .
