Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Pleasant grounds and accommodation

The hotel location is pleasant. We enjoyed our ocean view, our room, the gardens and the layout of the resort. The snack bar during the day was good. Some of the servers there were very nice. San Jose del Cabo is a lovely town. We enjoyed being able to walk there. Suggestions: Improve the food. We both became ill eating the buffet food. The evening a la carte menu needs more variety and better choices. The Frutas y flores restaurant is very noisy inside. Have a staff member to a [... read more]ssist with seating in the buffets. The one time there was a staff person helping us to find a table, this made it more pleasant than trying to find our own table in a busy restaurant. Frutas y flores seemed understaffed and it took a while for tables to be cleared and coffee to be brought to the table. The music from the main pool is too loud.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Nice Resort

Grand Park Royal is a very nice place, it may not be a newer hotel but it is extremely well kept. Everything works, hot water in shower, free safe, free in room wifi maybe not the fastest but could still stream Netflix Shows. 3 nice very clean pools,water a little cold in January but that is common across the board. Food was very good but we did notice that they had less variety this time around as we had been here 2 yrs ago. The beach is a little small but the upside is great snorkeling with coral reefs and hundreds of fish to see. This was not a problem for us cause we knew the beach was small and planned to do our walking on a nice safe sidewalk by the ocean going to the town. Well located to do many excursions and only a 15 - 20 min cab ride from the airport. We would come again mainly for the great staff that made it a great vacation for us. Thank you very much 😊

Playa Mazatlan: Loved exploring the “cenote” area.

So much see and explore. The hot tub above the waterfall with the ocean view was beyond spectacular. Staff very friendly and willing to help. Every thing kept so clean and tidy. I would definetly recommend and return to this hotel.

Riu Flamingos: Worst hotel in Mexico!

The Riu Jalisco is not a 5 star hotel! Overall the hotel and general staff were ok. However, the hotel management is terrible. My wife got food poisoning on the third day we were there and I reported it to the hotel management. Instead of offering help the hotel manager, Paula Garcia Alvarez, denied that it was food poisoning and insisted we had brought a virus from Canada. She then threatened to quarantine us both to our room and said we would not be allowed to fly back to Canada on our departu [... read more]re date. They then insisted we went to the hospital to be checked for this 'virus' but didn't assist or pay for the testing and transportation cost. We went to the hospital and the test was negative as WE HAD FOOD POISONING NOT A VIRUS! The only person that cared or helped us was the on site Sunwing Representative, Gabriela Orozco. She escorted us to the hospital and translated for us as well as waited for the test results. She also took care of our transportation costs to the hospital and check in on us daily. She was fantastic. My wife was sick for a week! I would not recommend this hotel, not because we got food poisoning but because the hotel management treated us so badly. We have gone to Mexico many many times staying in 3.5-4 star hotels, all of which were better than the Riu Jalisco.

Riu Palace Baja California: It's good here

We had a great tip. We loved that it was a small resort with big resort amenities. Lots of chairs. Lots of towels. Amazing food!!! Strawberries and Shrimp. The staff was super great. Beautiful location. We enjoyed the water slides at the attached resort.

Paradisus Cancun: Amazing beach paradise

I stayed at Paradisus with my girlfriend and we had a great time! The service is spectacular, every single person on the resort is so welcoming and attentive. They are so eager to help you and really enjoyed getting to us. This made our stay extra special: I have been on a lot of beach vacations and I have say that I was very impressed by not only the landscape (which is amazing!!), ambiance but the food! Loved the market grill the most especially the lamb and steak skewers, so yummy in my tummy. Everything about this place was perfection. It’s not a very party or kid oriented resort so if that’s what you’re looking for I wouldn’t suggest it. There’s other ones that cater to that. Couples..or anyone looking for a relaxing little piece of paradise you’ve found your match!!! I’m ready to book my next trip again :) Just fabulous. Absolutely fabulous

Las Palmas by the Sea: Beautiful resort!

We found everything very relaxed, clean and comfortable. The ac worked well, the rooms were kept very clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating to all our needs. It was nice to share our stay there with a majority of Mexican tourist families with young children...got to experience a little more of the Mexican culture that way. (I was particularly impressed with their lovely positive and gentle parenting style...didn't hear the loud scolding/ordering of kids around that we NA parents often [... read more] do!:) One thing I noticed this time as well as last year...when you arrive you don't get much of an orientation...no one showing you around re: what is available and where i.e. massage, clinic, main floor washrooms etc. Maybe a map of the grounds/facilities would be nice idea. Meals were good, breakfasts the best! The taco chips/with all the toppings by the pool in the afternoon were hot, fresh and delicious! (Guacamole and sour cream are more Tex-Mex than actually Mexican we discovered...none to be had.) Being on the coast the emphasis is fish.We had the option of 2 a la carte restaurants. We tried the Guacamajazz restaurant. The salmon was amazing...the soups very good as well...the "ravioli" was inedible. (Hard, cold and undercooked, no red sauce, just sitting in an oily flavourless clear liquid...not even butter!) We did choose to vary the food by eating a few of our meals at fantastic inexpensive little restaurants/pubs we discovered in the neighbourhood, right close by. Drinks were absolutely wonderful...and kept coming:) The evening entertainment was a little hit-and-miss...most people seemed to really enjoy it. Our ocean view room overlooked the pools, and we noticed it was quite loud. Next time we will try a room overlooking the garden instead and see if it is quieter.

Costa Club Punta Arena: Costa Club Puerto Vallarta

This is a 3* Resort. Rooms clean, renovated rooms better. Food 3/5 Book the Italian Restaurant at site, 4* Beach area 1/5 Walk to the Malecon ( boardwalk) 20 minutes walk away GREAT! or take Bus or Taxi Restaurants, Flea Market, Local Cuisine at a whim. Friendly staff at the resort. Riu Santa Fe: 5+ start worthy

My husband and I booked this trip for a much-needed getaway. The actual Resort lives up to the website, it is fantastic! Everything was perfect from booking this trip to the flight, the resort the transportation to and from. Everything was just perfect! Krystal Ixtapa: major disappointment

Lets start with the lawn chairs they provided they are old and dirty,we covered them up towels or we would have been standing the whole week. In the dining room it was hard to find a plate or cup that didn't have a crack line or chip,most of the tables wobbled,there was missing tiles on the floor you had watch where you walking.The food didn't have much to pick from same thing over again,we ate out 6 times.Most of the staff didn't speak english,I had an ice bucket in my hand asking 4 different  [... read more]cleaning staff where I could fill it up they didn't know,so I phone the front desk asking where is the ice machine they ask for my room no. and hung up I never did see that iceThe air condition worked half assed,the vent for it was covered with dirt and black stuff.One day I was going to step in the shower and there was no water for 45 minutes good thing it didn't happen when the wife shampooing her hair you would have heard screaming 10 miles away.The bath towels are old and rough get new ones please.Never coming back its a 1 maybe 2 star tops. Way over priced.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort & Spa

The grounds of the resort are well maintained. The rooms are a little outdated but clean. The resort is on the smaller side, most of the restaurants are in the same area. There is tons of chairs beside the pools and along the beach. The beach area is small and because of the location you can't go for a long walk on the beach. There is two buffets, one indoors and the other open. Both serve most of the same food with a few different dishes. They only had one theme night where some dishes we [... read more]re different. We did four of the restaurants, Mexican, Italian, Japanese and Steak. The Japanese and the Italian were the best. They had a different band every night that played in the lobby bar before and after the main show. Friends of ours used the kids club which they really enjoyed. The margarita were delicious! They crepe and the food trucks were good lunch options. We used the bicycles on site to go to the marina that has a Dolphin center. The mini golf and tennis court were decent and the sports bar was fun with all the games. It was a relaxing vacation!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Highly reccomended!

This hotel is fantastic! The food is incredible. There was no dish we tried that anyone didn't enjoy thoroughly. Everyone that works here is friendly and accomodating. They keep this place very clean and are always working to improve things. The entertainment staff is wonderful and there are many different activities you can join in if you desire, but there are also many quiet spots in the resort that you can go to where you can be poolside without others around. Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Very pleasant resort

Pros: Very nice hotel. Grounds were well kept. Rooms were adequate although walls are paper thin. Dining was the highlight of this hotel. Food & service were excellent. Staff are very well trained. Enjoyed the hotel's entertainment. Cons: Music around pool and activities was very loud. "All Inclusive" allows for too much alcohol consumption which tended to create a loud and obnoxious environment. Alcohol service should be limited or refused to individuals who are inebriated. Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: FOOD POISONING-VIOLENTLY ILL-HOTEL COULD CARE LESS

We have just arrived home after a horrible stay at Paradisus La Perla. On Wed night we ate at a restaurant Bana Fusion, in which two hours later we were both violently ill until 4 am the next day. Luckily we met a nurse from Ontario and called her room and she came straight away with medication and ran out and bought us Gatorade. We alerted the hotel front desk and customer service but never heard from them. We were feeling better 46 hrs late and then ate at a restaurant The Grill and once a [... read more]gain was up all night ill. From there on in all we ate was a banana, dry toast and water. When we checked out the hotel did not inquire into our stay, they just passed up a piece of paper with a sad face or happy face on it and asked for our room and name. We were totally appalled at their lack of professionalism. This is hotel is marketing itself as a high end resort and part of a hotel chain which prides itself on customer service. Website posting CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS OUR CUSTOMERS “Offer our guests the best personalised accommodation experience, exceeding their expectations with the excellence of our best service.” I do not call this excellent and we will never return.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great time at Sandos Playacar ...except....

First the bad... We read that the resort had bicycles. We love to ride and looked forward to riding a lot. Unfortunately, the bicycles are terrible !! They all have very small frames, so the seat has to be jacked up very high. The bars are very low, so the resulting ergonomics are extremely punishing. So much so that we could only ride a few minutes before it was painful. We are not large people. I'm 5'8" and my girlfriend is even shorter. So forget riding any distance if you are any bigger t [... read more]han us. We thought that we would use the bicycles in the gym, but there was NO bicycles in the gym. Unbelievable !! There were stationary bicycles in an area devoted to spin classes but we were not allowed to use them unless we were there at a specific time for a class. This was very disappointing. Also, at every resort we have stayed at over the last 5 years, water peddle boats were available. NOT HERE. So no luck trying to get any bicycle exercise. This is important for me as I have bad knees. Now the good... We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this resort. First time in Mexico for us. The food was great. We found the serving staff to be friendly and enjoyable to talk to. The large beach area was kept clean by a machine that cleaned the sand every morning before sunrise. Went to one show, Michael Jackson tribute. Very good ! We spent a lot of time using the watersports equipment. We enjoyed using the kayaks, but the big hit for us was learning how to sail the Hobie Cat Catamaran. After a short lesson from Gilberto I was able to sail confidently. My girlfriend and I spent a fair amount of time sailing in the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean. This was heaven !! Can't say enough about the great watersports staff that we spent a lot of time with on the beach. They were very friendly towards us. We felt they were taking good care of us and watching out for our safety. Hats off to the watersports crew... Armin, Jorge, Gilberto, and Marcello. You guys are the BEST !!

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: What a great holiday!

We thought we were going to be staying at the Royal De Cameron, but what a great ending to what we thought was going to be a bad experience. We ended up at your hotel instead. You have the most amazing beaches! The most amazing food and the most amazing staff! We will definately come back again!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Very nice resort

Great pools, awesome buffet and a la carte. Resort grounds very well kept and clean. Staff always very friendly. Nightly entertainments and daily activities are plentiful. If you prefer to just relax, then there are many ways to do this as well. Lots of interesting excursions available if you want a change of scenery. Highly recommended and would definitely return.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great Stay

This is the 5th time I have stayed there and as always there is nothing I can complain about except for the fact I had to pay 350 in Mexican money to get the key for my room safe. In the past I was given that money back but this time when I returned the key they said it was not refundable which I thought was wrong. Other than that it was a great stay got the room I asked for so everything was perfect Cheers

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great Vacation!

The Royalton Hideaway Cancun was great! The adults only section was great and you could get everything you need without mixing with all the families on the other side of the resort. The room, the restaurants, the shows and the STAFF were awesome. I don't think I got up for a drink once! The ONLY downside to this resort is the beach. Although long and had beautiful white sand, there was a ton of seaweed and the first 10-20 feet into the water it was very murky. Overall, I would give this resort a [... read more]n 8 out of 10...it's a strong4-4.5 star and delivered on all it's selling features.

Moon Palace Cancun: BAD experience

We would never recommend this place. Many that attended the wedding ended up very sick, quite sure it was food poisoning. The ocean and the beach are awful. Very murky and full of seaweed. A huge tractor is going back and forth on the beach the majority of the day. The swimming pools are freezing except for one that is heated and packed. Very, very disappointed.
