Hotel Bella Costa: Amazing resort but a bit worn out!
Our room was not really prepared when we came, there was a leak from AC, balcony door didn't lock, bath wasn't clean, there was a third bed in the room, next day though they removed all the problems so we could enjoy our stay...
Muthu Playa Varadero: Great Resort
Clean hotel, well kept grounds, good variety of food, fresh fruits. Good entertainment, around the pool, Good entertainment in the main lobby. Good shows every night, Three restaurants. Clear beach. Overall Good hotel.
Playa Caleta: Resort was okay.
My ocean view room was really nice and comfortable. The grounds were nice. It was nice having access to the beach from the hotel. The room was air conditioned. However the Resort did not have ceiling fans and I was there in April so the humidity was very high. It was uncomfortable. The pool bar pool was closed. The food was okay. I found things that I liked and things I hated. Salt and pepper shakers didn't work due to humidity. The staff were nice but not overly friendly and I did not find them [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: I SURVIVED CUBA
The hotel rooms were above average and clean. The pool is well laid out, but too much music during the day. Good access to a fantastic beach - watch out for the Sand fleas. Friendly staff, that serve other Cubans first. Many smokers. Good Cappacino at the lobby bar, that makes up for the intolerable coffee. Who knew that you could not get fresh fruit in Cuba. Excellent place to go if you are looking to loose weight.
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Still a 5 star even if a bit of age shows
super buffet and good restaurants excellent beach well kept grounds a 5 star all round. This Resort has seen better days but with age comes experience , staff are very attentive and fix problems very quickly. We had excellent service from all expecially : Mati our super buttler , Eribe the waiter at the beach restaurant, Osnay the waiter at the buffet, The new Manager Pauline was also very courteous and took the time to be present all around the premises. We recomment this resort to anyone who a [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Had a great family vacation
We had a great vacation at the Melia Peninsula. Since we were travelling with a 11 month old, we chose this resort as it seemed very family friendly. There were alot of families and the staff were very nice with our daughter. Food was above our expectations ( it is Cuba after all) and the maintenance is lacking (again it's Cuba ) but the beach was great.
Hotel Tuxpan: Hospitable Cultural Experience
Beautiful location on Varadero beach. Staff was extremely welcoming and made sure we were always taken care of. Food was satisfactory. Entertainment was incredible. Huge applause to the Animation Team!
Blau Varadero: Wonderful vacation!!!!
This was our second stay at the Blau Varadero & once again, we had a wonderful vacation. The resort is beautiful and very clean. The staff are amazing & so friendly. The buffet food is very good & the International & Mexican restaurant's are fabulous. We can't wait for our next stay at the Blau Varadero.
Starfish Varadero: Everything goes down better with rum
The food was definitely the biggest downfall. We attended a wedding during our stay at another hotel and it proved that not all food is bad in cuba only if u stay at a 3 star. Another con was the Cubans that came to stay there. They were very rude and a fist fight almost broke out in the buffet over beef. During the week it was alot quieter and enjoyable. I found the staff surprisingly more friendly and willing to chat it up with guests as apposed to the higher end hotel I visited. This may not [... read more]

Roc Barlovento: Adult only resort -fabulous beach -great price!
Pros Adults only... Not a party crowd Spectacular very clean beach... The best we have had in Varadero. Located right in Varadero... But very peaceful PRICE!!!! if you're staying at the far tip of the peninsula, its a 25 dollar taxi ride just to get to town and another $25 to get back. At this resort you were already in town. The staff especially Senor Juan, the manager are great! The nightly entertainment by the 5 beautiful girl & boy dancers was incredible. Make sure you join the salsa lesson [... read more]
Muthu Playa Varadero: Great time
I went with my sister, our room was well maintained and clean. There is a great animation team at the pool and by the beach..it is hard to find a chair so you will have to be there early ... the buffet had lot of options from fries to sushi however there was no A/C. Overall it is not a five stars so you get what you paid for and the staff are very nice and friendly i wanted a good deal because i knew i was going to book lot of excursions...Playa d'Oro is situated not far from Plaza de America al [... read more]
Muthu Playa Varadero: Awesome Resort!!
The rooms were spotless clean...the staff like family. The food was very enjoyable and the nightly entertainment was excellent. We had an oceanview room and it was an amazing view every morning to wake up to.
Hotel Acuazul: On a Budget? Acuazul in for you!
This hotel is great for a cheap trip to Varadero. The rooms are large, if a bit run down, and are comfortable. Bring a plug if you want a bath. The lobby is ok, nothing special but they have a nice lobby bar with a flatscreen, if you're into watching sports. There is also a bar at the pool for drinks and sometimes food when the restaurant is closed. The pool is always clean and a good temperature. There is always sun and shade at the pool, depending on what you like. It's less then a 5 minute wa [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Small resort, nice beach, but food poisoned.
The hotel grounds were very nice and very accessible. We had pool view which was nice as well. It was a small resort which I prefer. They have a shark under a bridge that you walk over to get to the main lobby which was interesting and different. Wasn't a lot of entertainment. No rocks on the beach what so ever either. The food was decent but we were so sick of it by the end we just wait bread. I went there with my mom and we both end up getting extremely sick while we were there and for a coupl [... read more]
Resonance Blu Varadero: Great Resort
I took my 7 year old son for a week and we had a great time. Very family friendly resort, the staff was amazing, room was clean. The only complaint we had was the food, there seemed to be the same things served daily.
Muthu Playa Varadero: Mediocre Resort, Amazing Beach
From my last experience I would not rate this hotel as a 5 *. It was not terrible by any means, just not what I expected. I loved the size of the resort & how close to the beach we were. The beachfront was not overly crowded & the water was really warm. Probably the most beautiful beach I've been to-you could walk forever! Where the resort fell short for me was in the service department which is not typical of Cuba. The light in our bathroom burned out on day one, and I notified staff right away [... read more]
Playa Caleta: Great fun
Although the food wasn't excelent, what can you expect in Cuba, there was 24 hour food if your ever hungry. Pool was awesome, party's were great, good resort for younger generation.. Staff was great aswell
Mar Del Sur: Good times, new friends, will be back.
Despite the fact that my camera was stolen from my room (that was not cleaned even once during the whole time I was there), and no one compensated the loss or really did anything, I had a good time. You can't ask more for the price, and really you get what you pay for. But it's not the luxury I came for, it's the sun and the beach, and let me tell you, it's really worth it. So if you want a blast vacation for the buck, this is the place to go. And take tonnes of Travelan with you ) Suggestion: [... read more]
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Disappointing
Vacationed there from April 18 - 25th 2015. Expected above average from previous reviews and we upgraded to Priviledge class but we were very disappointed...below average from our previous trips to Cuba (4 previous to different resorts). Beach was lovely, rooms good size and location, air conditioning worked well...beds very uncomfortable, service from staff was just adequate and sometimes rude and most importantly the quality of food was poor. There were 6 people in our group and we all became [... read more]
