Palacio Mundo Imperial: Service was horrid

The beach was increasible when it was not completely full. And the pools were also very nice. The food was amazing. But the major downside of this trip that kind of spoiled it was the service. The majority of the staff there did not speak English and therefor it was increadible difficult to order anything as well as ask for anything more. When we tried to make a reservation at a restaurant for the next day, they lost our reservation and made us wait an hour more for an available table despite th [... read more]e restaurant being nearly empty. When we did manage to get a table, it took almost an hour to get our entree while many tables who arrived much later than us got served almost right away. Furthermore, this does not only apply to a specific restaurant but to all, every time we ordered something, they would often get it wrong and bring out the wrong order as well as serving us around 10 minutes apart. And whenever we asked for more drinks, they would never bring them out again. We would often see them at the counter or the servers never bothered to come back with more coffee or wine. This trip stayed off on a bad note when the hotel lost our reservations and made us wait almost 2 hours for them to find them. This hotel however is lacking in entertainment despite having a very large stage on the premises. There isn’t very much to do at the hotel. An annoy aspect of this vacation was signing a receipt every time you ordered something despite having a colored wrist band indentifying who was an all inclusive cliente. Lastly, Acapulco is a truest breath taking city and if you do get the chance to visit, do try the city tour. Our tour guide was an old man who was born when the town was only 50,000 people and therefor got the chance to see it expand. If you do book the tour, book it with Jose at Pierre as Ernesto was not a great representative.

Palacio Mundo Imperial: Hope you enjoy waiting

The hotel was gorgeous and the food was excellent. However about half the vacation was spent waiting around. The hotel lost our reservations when we got there and therefor had to wait an hour and a half. When we had made a reservation for a restaurant, they lost it and made us wait an hour for an available table, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. During this meal, we waited 45 minutes for our food, only to receive a tiny bowl with 3 prices of lettuce claiming to be the chefs special. It [... read more] took another 30 minutes for our entres. Next the service was awful. They would often never event bring out our food or drinks and when they did, it was usually the wrong thing as well as being served around 10 minutes apart. Furthermore every time you ordered something, you were forced to wait to sign a receipt despite being all inclusive resort. This hotel also advertises as having 6 restaurant however on the Monday night they only had one open which was a reservable one. When we when there to eat, they only had a few Ireland available on the menu as they had run out of everything else. Ont he positive side, we were very happy with the restaurant at the princess called Tavola. The food was excellent as was the service. The hotel resort was lacking activities and entertainment despite having a large stage. Acapulco is a very nice city and if you get the chance to go please try the city tour excursion. However do try to book it with Jose at prière and not with Ernesto who’s at the princess and resort. He was an awful sunwing representative.

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Fabulous Getaway Spot

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort gets a 2 thumbs up 👍 Buffet choices for all 3 meals were amazing and staff were so friendly. Beaches are white sand with many chaises available all the time Pools were great, Lots of places for little kids to play Resort very well maintained and very clean A relaxing place to unwind Would go back in a heartbeat

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: BEAUTIFUL BEACH AND RESORT!

GROUNDS ARE WELL TAKEN CARE. STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND EAGER TO PLEASE! FOOD WAS AVERAGE. BEACH WAS BEAUTIFUL ....HARDLY ANY SEAWEED. ROOMS ARE LARGE. WATERSLIDES AND DOLPHINURIUM ARE A BIG PLUS. SHOW ARE VERY AVERAGE.

Royal Solaris: Great place!

Location, amenities, food, service and staff were absolutely great. Just across the street from a small shopping and restaurants plaza. There is a nice gym facility, but i preffered to use the running/cycling trail. Nothing to complain about.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: A Beautiful Resort!!

The Iberostar Paraiso del Mar is hands down, a five start Resort!. We stayed the last week of December and into the New Year. I can't say enough good things about this resort. It was my first time travelling at Christmas and I thought it was going to be incredibly busy but this resort is so big, you never had to wait for anything and it was never crowded. We shared the pool and restaurants with the Iberostar Beach Resort. This resort had a mini mall and more restaurants we could use, in [... read more]cluding a taco bar, burger bar, ice cream and crepe bar, casino, spa and gift shops. The grounds of the resort were always cleaned and well maintained. Lots to look at, very picturesque. Trolley carts with drivers were always available to take you anywhere around the resort if you didn't want to walk. The staff and servers were so kind and generous. Always made sure you were well taken care of. We always tipped well to show our appreciation. The food was amazing. Always something new to try. I recommend the Japanese Restaurant as one of your a la carte choices. The waiter taught me how to use chopsticks. I ate my entire meal with them. The chefs put on a fabulous show and the food was incredible. If you didn't want to eat at the a la carte restaurants you could always go to the buffet. It was large and had endless delicious food choices. The pool was incredible. I stayed in the quiet zone because I wanted the opportunity to relax and read. I purchased a float at the pool side store and floated my way to the swim up bar frequently to enjoy one of the many delicious drinks they offered. (the quiet area has one of the 3 swim up bars in it) . If I wanted some excitement, I floated on down to the other end of the pool area where all the games and music were happening. Foam parties, aqua swim, ninja warrior games. Always something going on. We had a standard room that was located closer to the buffet, lobby and theatre. Fresh sheets and towels everyday Mini bar stocked everyday. It was like walking into a brand new room each and every day. You cannot hear your neighbours. The only noise we heard was in the evening from 9 to 11 pm from the theatre when they had big shows. It didn't bother us and was not too loud. We were located on the 3rd and top floor of the villa. By the end of the day, we were tired and did not want to climb the stairs, but it was not the end of the world. We did not spend a lot of time at the beach. Although very beautiful, it was quite windy and the waves were pretty big. The red flag was out most of the time so you could not go in the waves but it was nice to walk in close to shore. The seaweed was a problem on shore I think because of the water conditions. There was always workers trying to clear it. It was not mushy or smelly. It didn't really bother me. You just had to walk through it to get to the water. (Maybe 2 feet wide. I guess you could describe it as rubbery plant like). I would definitely recommend this resort for families or couples and I would be happy to visit again.

Riu Palace Baja California: Disappointed

We paid a lot of money to come to this hotel. I have been to other Riu properties and they were always fantastic. I suppose the hotel will be fine once they get the proper staff in place and it’s been opened a little longer but for now they should be offering deals to stay there since they are not ready nor have the full staff to accommodate. The room smelled of sewage which we continually told them everyday when we can back from the pool. They would send someone to spray the room. Didn’t he [... read more]lp there is definitely a problem going on. They should have given us another room since the hotel was empty. We requested a high floor near the pool. They gave us a room at the back of the hotel on the ground floor. Request was not even considered. Ran out of propane in the heaters. Took 3 days to fill back up. It was cold at night they should have had those filled immediately or had back up.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Very Pleasantly Surprised

We went to Sensimar Seaside Suites a little apprehensive since our previous few times in Mexico were at another adult only all inclusive. I am very much a "if it's not broke, don't fix it" kind of person, but here we were trying something new. My initial impressions were not great but looking back, I was comparing my stay here to my previous stay at the other resort where I was very familiar with the surroundings. At Sensimar/El Dorado we felt a little lost. It's not big as far as the number [... read more] of people, but the resort overall is quite large so navigating around was not always easy at first. But as the days went by and I got to talking to other guests and hearing their reviews on the restaurants and becoming familiar with where people were gathering after supper we started to really enjoy ourselves. The food was absolutely incredible. I think I would rate it higher than our other experience. If you like meeting others, this place was perfect. I like making new friends and there was no problem her because you saw people frequently. We played beach volleyball every day and the beach itself was great. I went snorkeling a few times and when the water was rough I stayed within the barricaded area where the waves were calm and saw plenty of fish, and when the waves were calm on our last day there I swam out to the wave breaks about 400 yards from shore and there was treated to an incredible amount of different fish. It was excellent. I went kayaking one day and enjoyed that a lot. My wife was more comfortable relaxing and reading on the beach so she got to enjoy that. The loungers were hard to come by if you were not up early but as the week went on the resort got less full and the beach seating became more available. We did not sit by the pool at all so I have no comment on that. The service on the beach as far as drinks goes was lacking, but I had no issues going for a short walk to one of the bars and refilling our drinks. The pina coladas were great and others seemed to enjoy the icebergs a lot (margarita beer mix). Our room was a little dated, but we spent little time in there. The beds were super comfortable which matters most to me. We took advantage of the jacuzzi tub in our room a few nights and the showers were big which was great. Overall we had an excellent stay and would gladly go back.

The Reef 28 Playa del Carmen: We loved our stay!

We truly enjoyed our vacation at Reef 28! Biggest plus was the hotel's location - right in the centre of town. We walked 5th Avenue every night and loved the diversity of the tourists here, the great restaurants, hopping nightlife, and happy vibe all around us. Beautiful rooftop pool was very clean, heated, and chill. One thing they should consider is that not everyone likes techno 7 days a week... The music volume was fine for us (although I read reviews previously suggesting it was too loud) [... read more], but we would have liked more musical variety (even some Latino tunes would have been neat!). The food at the hotel was delicious - we liked the Mexican restaurant most and looked forward to grabbing seats outdoors for people-watching. Premium drinks were awesome. The service was a little/very slow on some days by the pool (some drinks never arrived at all, or the order was mixed up), but the restaurant service was excellent! All in all, it was such a super vacation that I really can't fault this hotel for much. Even the bracelets they gave us were trendy! :)

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Needs updating

The hotel was nice but definetly needs renovating, it’s outdated, the food in the specialty restaurants was delious but very small portions, the best meal was the lobster and steak on the beach with Jazz music but we had to pay 125.00 a couple but it was worth it, I highly recommend it, don’t do fondue nite not worth the price, amazing entertainment every nite except Karoke nite don’t go, it was a bunch of drunks trying to sing, also there’s lots of seaweed on the beach but they try real [... read more]ly hard to clean it up.

Tropicana Hotel: Hidden Gem

The Tropicana hotel is a welcome change from today’s newer resorts. It embodies old world charm from an era gone by. The staff are warm, friendly and extremely helpful. It is perfectly situated by the ocean and the Romantic Zone, which is full of restaurants, shops and galleries, all within walking distance. It is always a pleasure staying at the Tropicana!

Allegro Cozumel: Amazing resort!!

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Most beautiful beach near Cancun. Great hotel!

My family including two daughters (12 & 11) had a great trip over the Christmas break. The hotel was clean, the food was excellent and we all enjoyed ourselves. The girls were busy non-stop with activities. I played tennis every day with Joseph - the excellent tennis pro. We all enjoyed one of the nicest beaches that I've ever been to. While we did have a few service hiccups, I got in touch with Jesus Vargas the Manager, and he took care of all the problems right away and took extra steps to ens [... read more]ure that we had an amazing rest of a vacation. We will definitely come back.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Overall Good Stay

We enjoyed our week stay. 1. Very nice employees . 2. When reaching out with concerns we always received a follow up call to the room. 3. Food was very good , plentiful and well presented 4. Beach front was a 7/10. 5. We would say a 4.5 / 5 stars 6. Resort is starting to show age.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Hideaway at Christmas 2nd time around!

This is for sure one of our most favourite resorts to go to! You are treated so kind and the staff and everyone go out of their way to make you feel like you are home! We had a bit of a hiccup on last day but they rectified that situation within a half hour and we were well on our way to enjoying our last day and night there with a few extra perks. The entertainment was a bit different than last year but just as great!. The food all was wonderful with the exception of one disappointment at [... read more] an ala carte but in reality wasn't the food but delay with service but not bad enough to ruin trip by no means. We felt bad as we always tip and didn't that particular night. Last year that had been one of our favourites. Sure it will be again. Christmas eve dinner was very nice at the Dorado. Want to give a shoutout to Mauricio and Lilianne who took very good care of us at the pool . We always had towels and a great spot we happened to like at the pool. At the buffet some of our favourites was Ivan, and Alberto and Sergio. Some our favourite bartenders and bar staff was Joel, Henry, Gwendy and of course George. They all were great ! Just need to start writing down all the names so can make sure each one gets recognized. Even on arrival I think Adrien or Adriana checked us in and was very helpful and gave us a wonderful room and our friends who accompanied us and it was there 1st time. Cant wait to go back again....maybe next Christmas and we have a few more to maybe take next time. Love it there at the Hideaway!!

Dreams Huatulco: Great trip

The resort is in a great location. The weather was perfect every day. The pools are great and the beach is steps away from the pool deck. The ocean was warm and there are lots of water sports available. The resort is clean and the service is great! The restaurants for dinner are very good. Breakfast is also good, but the buffet lunches are not quite up to 5* material. It was pretty much the same thing every day. The ATV excursion was fun! We travelled over New Years. Dreams Riviera Cancun: Dreams

Hotel was good. Rooms good. Food just ok. Longer hours would be better with kids wanting to eat earlier than 6pm and before 8am. Beach was very good and pools where great. Staff was friendly and helpful

Grand Sunset Princess: Fantastic resort with something for everyone!

I am an avid traveler(3 times a year) and I must honestly say that Grand Sunset Princess was by far the best resort I’ve stayed at in the last 5 years. The pros: great drinks concocted perfectly,wether it was a bloody ceaser,mojito,pina colada or any of the featured cocktails everything tasted perfectly balanced and delicious! The various restaurants that are available for reservations we’re most definitely a hit! La Vaqueria was definitely the star of the show. The Miso resto with a hibachi grill and trained flare chef was a great show to experience and the food was lovely, Mexican was very tasty as well and so was The Fondue. The only letdown was Mama Mia the Italian resto, it lacked flavour and was not good at all( although the service was impeccable) . The nightly entertainment was always on point and had a lot of different shows that most other resorts don’t even try to attempt. Besides the typical Grease show that is prominent in every vacation destination they had a variety of different shows to offer that I’ve never experienced in all my years of staying at resorts. The Horror Show was a real treat and had me enjoying every minute of it. The only show that I found was not up to par was The Aladdin show but it still gets an E for effort. The 24hr snack bar was a lifesaver on many nights and so were the BBQ stations by the pools every single day. Beautiful and spacious rooms. And all the employees were super friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Cons: For some people the resort may seem like a huge city that takes time to navigate and you can easily get lost( I timed myself walking from the beach to the lobby and it took a solid 40 minutes) for people with limited mobility it can be a real problem. Honestly that’s it for cons for me everything else was highly enjoyable I’ll definitely come back if ever go to Riviera Maya again.

Grand Riviera Princess: Wonderful place!

Amazing vacation at Grand Riviera Princess. Very big, clean resort. There are 7 a la card. The food in bouffet was very good all kind of food variety. The only thing is in bouffet has to be more different kind of chicken. The city was very safe. Near to Playa Del Carmen.The staff were amazing people. At the main pool there are 2 boys name Victor. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Very good!!

The food was amazing and the resort absolutely beautiful. My parents did have an issue with bugs in their room but it was dealt with. I would also recommend that the hotel puts in more ladders into the pool in the swim up area for older people to get in and out in more areas. Our room smelled a bit musty and I think was in an older part of the hotel. But all in all was still excellent.
