Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Awesome resort ! Amazing service!!

This resort was fantastic!... The room and facilities were beautiful and immaculate ... The beach was filled with seaweed which couldn't be helped due to Mother Nature but the staff worked hard all day to clean it up .... I would highly recommend!

Ocean Maya Royale: Great Vacation

I vacationed with my partner May 21-28 and had a great time at this resort. The resort is small which is to my liking. Grounds are immaculate with staff constantly cleaning and making sure things are perfect. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff bend over backwards to satisfy all your needs and wants as an example we didn't like our room originally given to us and when we requested another, no fuss, no muss was given another. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: What a relaxing trip!

We were blessed. Sun and 31 degrees Celsius every day. My advice...more sunscreen on first full day in the sun. The resort is beautiful and clean. Lots of vegetation along paths walking from room to meal choices to pool to beach making the resort feel very lush. Food and service are amazing. Beach had seaweed washing up per unusual current but the resort made efforts to clean it up regularly and we went in the ocean daily with no issue. Hard vacation to end.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Amazing Honeymoon!

My new husband and I just spent a week at the Platinum Yucatan Princess, and we had an Amazing honeymoon! The rooms were great; ours had its own Jacuzzi! Our room overlooked the party pool, which is loud during the day, but shuts right down at like, 5:00 pm. sharp. The food was Awesome - we really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant! Super fun (hope you like Tequila!) and the Italian and the Rodeo Grill were good too. Buffets were good too. Be sure to take nice evening clothes; everyone dresses up. [... read more] It's a bit of an older crowd, we found, but still very fun :). 24 - hr room service was pretty handy (fast too), bars were great (Thanks Alex and Tania!), beach was nice and almost always empty! It was very hot, though. Lots of chairs and loungers available, in the sun or shade, so no issues there. The night entertainment was fun; we really enjoyed the casino night, reggae on the beach, and the fire show. The Sports complex is a bit of a jog to get to, but there's lots to do there if you make it over. We had couples massages as well, and that was lovely. You get 50% off if you book in the first 24 hrs, so that made it worth it for sure. We did an excursion with BD travel that took us to the ruins of Tulum, swimming in underground caves, and then snorkeling at a reef in Akumal with sea turtles!!! It was so amazing! We went to mass at Playa del Carmen and did our souvenir shopping there as well. It's only about a 15-20 min cab from the resort. Last piece of advice: bring American money to exchange, not Canadian. The rates are not good at the resort. Also, it's cheaper to do your souvenir shopping with pesos rather than dollars, but many places accept visa as well. Thanks to everyone at the resort who helped make our honeymoon and wonderful and memorable trip!!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Good Resort

We were overall impressed with the resort. It is a very large resort and were for the most part, impressed with the service and facilities. We weren't a big fan of the check-in process where you are paired with a concierge who reviews the facilities and services for an hour or so and at the end invites you to attend a "session" the next day. Says it's not time share but we declined so not sure exactly what it was about. Our check-in time was supposed to be 3:00pm but didn't get our room until 3 [... read more]:30pm. We arrived at 10:30am that morning and would have liked to get into our room at least on time if not early. The food was great everywhere we went, never had to wait for a table. The only food issue was the lobster dinner on the beach which was not too well organized. We were given our seats, lined up for dinner and when we went back to our table, our seats had been given away and we had to sit at the bar above, waiting for our cutlery, etc. so our food got cold. We stayed in the Hideaway section which always had some great entertainment pool side. Our server Paulino constantly checked to make sure we were okay and had drinks or water. Rooms were nice, but didn't really care for the bathtub in the main room. Also, when I ran a bath, a film came out and coated the side of the bathtub. Didn't use it again after that. The worst part about this resort is the beach. There was lots of seaweed. Nothing the resort can do about it, but if you like to swim in the ocean, it's not the greatest.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Underwhelming Resort

When we walked into this resort, our jaws dropped to the floor. However, our experiences afterwards were disappointing to say the least. We arrived early at the resort (around 1 pm), however we were not allowed to check in to our room, book any excursions or dinner reservations or take out our swim suit from our luggages UNTIL seconds before 3 pm (which is when we were allowed to check in to our rooms). The rooms looked like motel rooms... with the stained furniture and lamps, I did not feel like I was on vacation. This was a girls trip and our rooms were right next to the kids pool which was very disappointing as we had to travel to the Tulum (which was approximately 10-15 minutes by through their trolley guys) every day to enjoy our time with some younger adults instead of a bunch of kids and families. The Coba resort was verrry far from the beach...which was sad until we got to the beach which was COVERED in seaweed. Literally half the water and sand were covered in seaweed. I'm not even over exaggerating. On our last day though, they were cleaning up the seaweed with huge tractors. This was a HUGE resort and there were lot's of things going on but we didn't know ANYTHING unless some entertainment staff we befriended told us. Very poor organization. The resort was very disappointing but our experience with the amazing excursions, Playa Del Carmen and COCO BONGO were some of the BEST times of our life! :)

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Very good, not great...yet.

Grounds are clean and resort is nicely designed. Beach is very nice, soft white sand however water was hit and miss. Some days the Sea grass was only a few steps in and once you pass it, nice swimmable water. Some days not so much. Beach volleyball and beach bars are plentiful and there's always some entertainment. We stayed in Diamnd club and had no issues walking into an a la carte restaurant within 2 minutes. The Diamond section always has staff working hard to please you . We were celebrating my 40th, kinda of a big deal. Diamond club "butler" service is supposed to take care of any bday details and such. Well apparently I was supposed to have a cake at the Japanese restaurant and champaign in the room when we got back. Well neither happened and our butler said he gave info to another butler and well, nothing happened. the fact that they say they take care of the special occasions and nothing happened really upset my family. Moving on, food was very good ( Hunter Steak house) top shelf steaks and Zen the Japanese was awesome, buffet worked well. Didn't care for Opa( Greek restaurant) and Italian was fine but nothing great. We missed a few restaurants because of late days in the pool and just headed to buffet. Lunch at the beach bar was perfect as well. Premium alcohol is available (grey goose,crown royal) and if they don't have it, you just tell them and they'll get it. Night time shows were actually quit good and our little girl (7)had a good time. Kids club missed the mark, seemed more like a daycare/jail for little ones and she went once but said it was boring. The splash park was a huge reason why we chose this resort but again it was meh. The water is very low and when she would slide down the slides into the water, she would hit the ground a little hard. It's more suited for 2-4 year olds more or less. A lot of people mentioned the broken tiles and it is true, there are a lot. We played a game to see who could find tiles in the water and it was easy. There was a child while we were there that took 7 stitches in his finger because of reaching for a toy and caught a broken edge of a tile. We love the riviera and usually go to smaller resorts (Sensatori,Eldorado Seaside) but the diamond club felt perfect. Met great people and would go back if the price was right.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: A RELIABLE QUALITY RESORT WITH LOTS TO DO

Wish you could give 4.5 stars. Great value overall. Put it top tied for 1st of about 10 resorts of this nature. Can enjoy as adults alone, or with family. Knowing the place (and your food preferences) would make it bit better. Only reason not give 5 stars (and maybe I'm being hard, or reserving 5 star for perfect which may not even exist), is cause for Canadian Rye, they could have more options beyond Canadian Mist, and although food quite good, some could improve. Food consistently good, just h [... read more]ave had some better elsewhere, especially the Asian. But service was great, and the 24 hr sports bar is unique (and nice place to go anytime day or night when want a bite, cool off, lounge, or to entertain kids). Lots to do with the new mall (new larger waterpark (use coupon they give you); bowling; mini-golf; pool/ping pong/fooz ball) ), and restaurants very modern at new mall. The sports bar (with bowling to one end) open 24 hrs including drinks and food which is unique, and nice a cool to hang in. Snorkelling on the pier is a fun activity for less avid snorkellers. We swam further out to island, then slowly swam to beach and found large conch on way in. Rooms renovated late 2014/early 2015 in the Caribe section. Very nice, only issue may be if leave door even crack (including patio door), AC does not turn, so don't blow that. The grounds are beautiful, modern, well kept, with lots of places to sit and lounge. Pool and beach both great. If beach, strategically place yourself close to one of the beach bar/food locations rather than smack in betweeen (trust me). Could write so much more good things but have to run now. Club Premium worth to get more dinner reservation options (research this).

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Wonderful Vacation

This resort truly exceeded our expectations. The transfer from airport to resort was seamless and check in was a breeze. Having access to 3 other resorts gave us a variety in restaurant choices. Food was really good and the beach at the Maya Caribe was excellent. No issues getting loungers and entertainment was good. We would definitely recommend this resort.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Wonderful resort!

We had an excellent family trip to the Playa Catalonia Maroma in late May. It is a small resort but we actually loved being able to get to one location from another without having to walk forever or take a trolley. Restaurants were amazing; buffet has good breakfast selection but bland lunch and dinner selection. Rooms were decent and pool great for everyone. The only drawback was that the beach was full of seaweed (no crystal clear water) so my girls wouldn't go in. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: What a blissful experience!

I recently went to Azul Fives with my hubby and six-month-old son for our dear friends' wedding. We had a phenomenal time as we quickly learned that this resort was extremely baby friendly. Our hotel room was always immaculate and the staff went above and beyond to provide us with excellent service. We were provided with all of our baby necessities, such as food (sponsored by Gerber), a stroller, a monitor, a high chair, a bottle warmer, and a bath tub. Additionally, we were always greeted with  [... read more]a warm welcome by many of the restaurant staff and found that they enjoyed interacting with our little one. Lastly, the lazy river pool was always nice and quiet; however, we were able to interact with many families, too!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Fantastic hotel accommodations !

This hotel was gorgeous. The staff were great, they had plenty of activities on site and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to relax and have a great time.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Awesome resort

Everything about the resort was great the. The bell boys,the reception desk, room service and the conceirge were all helpful quick and friendly. The pool was always nice and clean the beach nice, had seaweed on it but every beach in mexico has some seaweed on it right now for some reason. The food was good. I would have jus liked it to be a little cheaper. Don't get me wrong it was worth the money but spending a lil less is always nice. Oasis Tulum: beautiful amazing resort

This was our first trip to mexico And the place was beautiful.we had a ground floor room with a pool view, the servers were polite and helpful. The weather was fantastic. We will definitely go back. Rooms were clean fresh towels daily, pool towel supplied everyday. Loved it

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Nice Resort

The hotel was nice, staff were amazing. Location - about 15 minutes from 5th Avenue. Good entertainment. Tapinyaki restaurant was amazing. Other restaurants were nice, good selection at buffet but the food always seemed cold. The beach was ok, definitely need water shoes if going in the ocean. There was a lot of sea weed on the beach but staff worked hard to clean it up and there were no issues getting a chair. We seemed to have full sun most of the day and no shade so it was too hot to sit out but the water was really warm. We were in Room 4025.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent Stay

We spent 1 week at Bahia Principe Coba and loved our stay! From our arrival where check in went smoothly and our king size spacious room was kept clean every day! The staff is just wonderful and helpful at all times! The food was super yummy.......do not acknowledge anyone who complains! There is something for everyone and then some! the ground are immaculate, pool areas fun for everyone and I loved the beach! Definitely recommend this to everyone thinking of a family vacation!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Annoying

Very nice, clean and new. Treatment on arrival and over the next couple of days was enough to ruin the week for us (in a nutshell, time sharing). The beach appeared man made and was unusable due to a very high volume of sea weed. Maid service was worse then any other of many resorts we've stayed at

Riu Tequila: Wonderful Vacation

We stayed at the Riu Tequila May 9th to 16th. My husband and I travelled with out 15 and 19 year old children. I must say that the resort exceeded our expectations on many levels. I was worried there may not be enough activities for the teenagers to do, but the entertainment throughout the day kept them busy. The entertainment staff should get a huge pat on the back for their knack at engaging everyone in the activities. They played a huge part in making our trip memorable. Riu Tequila has it all figured out and we will definitely be back some day!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Amazing Place

Staff and service were great, people were nice ,friendly. There is nothing i didn't like about this place. I really enjoyed the pools and of corse the pool bars. All in all great trip. The only thing i hated was to leave lol.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing service

We stayed at this resort for seven night. Resort is very clean. Nicely land scared . Food was excellent in all restaurants and buffet. Rooms are very clean and big and we had the suite with jaccusi on the terrace.
