Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort!

The gardens at this hotel were well maintained by the gardeners. The junior suites premium rooms were spacious and newer (block 6). The beach and the ocean were great! The pool was clean and well maintained. The service was good in all the restaurants and bars. The buffet was lacking seemed to be the same everyday. One of the things that I didn't like to so much was the large amount of flies at the buffet which I think could have been taken care of. The people working at the resort were very friendly and hard working. The piano bar was a nice place to unwind and relax. I especially liked the cuban buffet outside by the beach and the little band and dancing while enjoying a meal. The little bands and piano playing in some of the restaurants we attended were exceptional!! A daily compass(itinerary) would have been great to have on a daily basis as seen in other resorts. I believe a little more organization would make this hotel that much better. I was extremely disappointed that the only bar to go dancing at night was closed all WEEK!! One thing that I want to do while I'm on vacation and book at a couples only resort is dance like I'm sure many couples want to do. Overall I liked Cuba and would stay here again if we decide to go to a couples only resort in Varadero.

Club Karey: Terrible expirience

On arrival had to wait for room at least 2 hours.Room itself not clean. Towels and bed sheets stained. Not enough coat hangers.Water pressure very week, hard to take a shower. Food-we had few choices but it was't pleasant because there were to many flays. After few days we were forced by the staff to move to different room(all the vacationers from our building and the building next to us to).The reason for that was that these two building were next to a complex, fenced off with three huge villas [... read more] for some "important people", so the security could take over our buildings. The next room did not impress us either. The service was very poor, the servers were asking for tip before they served you. I was not the first time for us being in Cuba. Brisas Del Caribe: Receptionists should be more polite

In my group were ten members, one infant and nine adults. Our expectations were that young couple with a child with get the room first, didn't happened, and they have to wait for a crib two days. On top of that four of five rooms we occupied were without air condition. Also one day didn't have hot water. In one room lights didn't work, in my and other one telephone. Telephone was fixed on Wednesday in other room, I left before technician showed up to fix a telephone in my room. Dishes were dirty [... read more]. I visited a resort on reference.

Playa Caleta: Good Times!

The hotel was good enough the food was alright loved the BBQ chicken at lunch time the pool was awesome never got out of it and the room was clean and the staff was very nice I am going back to the same resort for 2 weeks next April had a great time!!

Roc Arenas Doradas: Beautiful Resort

A great well kept resort, updated rooms with great new air conditioners. (600 Block) The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious. The food is reasonable and condiments are available (they could put a few grains of rice in the salt and pepper shakers). The beach is just awesome and the water is warm, great for swimming. The pool is nice with no shortage of loungers. We tried all of the a la cartes, our favorite was the Tex-Mex (try the Pork Chops). We spent our evenings in the Lobby B [... read more]ar listening to the very talented Pianists playing there. We found some of the staff somewhat indifferent to us but this is Cuba. Be aware that when the breeze stops blowing the mosquitos come out in the evening, even in the Lobby (take your Deep Woods Off). All in all, an awesome Vacation spot!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Paradise Resort!

I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this resort to all! The service was spectacular, the food I can't complain about, my room was nice (although the other couple that came with us had a bad experience with their room), the beach is like no other and the pool areas are filled with entertainement, games, laughter, and great service. The Michael Jackson show (nightly entertainment) was great and the excursion to Havana was informative while the dolphins was an experience of a lifetime!

Brisas Del Caribe: Good, Just Good.

Its Cuba. The beaches and weather are fantastic, 10 straight days of sun, no clouds, no rain. White sand beaches and crystal blue waters. Very windy though. On the other hand, the food and the accommodations leave to be desired. The buffet is below average. The food is weird like they don't have a particular theme or pattern or an idea in mind of what they want to serve. Its all over the place and is not very good. We gave a piece of hamburger to a skinny starving dog and he wouldn't eat it. Just kept looking at the table wondering when we would give him "food" so who knows what is in those things. The A La Carte restaurants are alright so book them all. As for the rooms, their average. They could use some touch ups and minor fixups but other then that their alright. The rooms were beyond humid. You left a t-shirt on the chair and it would be soaked the next day. Also filled with mosquitos. Must bring mosquito repellant. When I left I could count over 50 bites on arms and face. Luckily there is no malaria. Its a nice big resort as you would expect with many restaurants and bars and the grounds are well kept. They have a scooter rental on location and they don't cost very much. One of the things I love about Cuba. Varadero is not far away, only about a 10 minute/10CUC ride. If you want to go to Cuba, you want a good resort and don't want to spend too much, this one is the way to go.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: One of the best in Cuba

This is a very nice resort with great pool area and beach. Buffet has ample choices for anyone. A good choice of A La Carte Restaurants that also have great food. Rooms are large and clean. Beach bar is lacking choices of drinks. Washrooms for beach area is a little walk to get to. Washrooms on resort needed to be cleaner and stocked with tissue, soap and towels - this would be the only important issue that I would downgrade it to a 4 star. Friendly staff are what makes others return to this resort.

Blau Varadero: Excellent!

The hotel was lovely and the food was amazing. I particularly enjoyed the fresh morning smoothies and 24 hour snacks. The piano bar was great for smoking cigars and listening to jazz, and the beach bar was the place to dance. I can't wait to go back next year!

Roc Barlovento: good resort, old but beautiful.

good beach, good location in town, rooms clean. The new Vintage bar which only opens on Saturday and Sunday is the best on the Island. Classy premium drinks at minimum cost served by a gentleman, Javier. 4th time at this hotel, 15th time in Cuba.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Amazing Trip- Wonderful Hotel

Everything about this resort was awesome. Spent a lovely ten days there with our family. Food, Service, beach and pool were outstanding. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Always a wide variety of food, they do the best with what they have. George and Daisi at the pool bar, Glenda at the buffet were always there with a smile and a warm welcome. Would recommend to all.

Club Kawama: Good People

It was clean and had all I needed it.. I would probably come back to this place in the future !! I hope they can improve the food just a bit and I think people will visit this place more often. Other than the food, all of it its great!!!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great resort and great value

We stayed at playa d'oro from April 12-19/15. We had a great trip. We stayed on the ground floor room 1009. It was decorated ok, the air worked great. Hot shower everyday. Close to the beach, the pool and the buffet. Had a king size bed that was very comfy. The maid service was good...gave her a 5.00 tip and a pretty scarf. We had numerous swans and our patio drapes were done beautifully. Went into the town of veradero for 5 pesos one day. It was very hot, but we persevered and got some souvenir [... read more]s. The weather was great, the beach was clean and the ocean was warm and beaming with colour. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. The food got to be a bit boring.....but we managed to find something to eat. We did not see any of the shows, they started at 10:30... A bit late for us as we are early risers. I would go back to this hotel. Happy travelling!

Blau Varadero: Love the Blau Veradero

This hotel has an amazing staff. Warm, friendly and sincere. Can't do enough for you. The service in the restaurants was simply outstanding. We also enjoyed the live music during lunch and dinner. The food was good we could always find something we liked. Our room was on the 12th floor and quiet. We were not bothered by noise in the room. We didn't go to any of the evening shows but saw the entertainment team during the day at various activities. The beach is lovely and clean. You need to get up [... read more] early to get a lounger at the beach. If you don't there is an overflow area on a grassy lawn with palm trees and plenty of shade.

Barcelo Solymar: Resort is accomodating

As this is my 2nd trip to Barcelo Solymar and 1 time to the sister resort, Arenes Blancas; I found a few changes. I stayed in the renovated area the first time and the unrenovated section the last trip. Big difference, I had a few problems on the last visit. The first visit - No words - just FANTASTIC.... On the second trip, A totally different story. Only a shower as bathtub not able to hold water due to plug fix; No remote control for the TV; terrible pillows (pcs of foam stuffed in pillow ca [... read more]se); the door frame broken on the front door. Asked for assistance and someone came on my last day to try a fix the door, not satisfactory. On the good side of things, I love Cuba and people and found this hotel extremely accommodating, except for fixes. The food was satisfactory/good; the service was excellent and a beautiful resort. Nice and close to town. Enjoyed the Beatles Club - Great spot and Fantastic Band. Many nice restaurants. Would return in a heartbeat.......Made many friends at this resort. Sad to Leave......

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Beach was beautiful

We stayed in the main hotel. It is pretty run down needs some major tlc. Our air conditioning did work and we had hot water the whole time. Which apparently has been an issue with other travelers. The buffet was ok. You could always find something to eat. The snack bars offered hot dogs/ hamburgers/ fries. They said they offered pizza but the three times we asked for it they said they were out. The week we stayed apparently was their local march break so the resort was full of locals. We saw two [... read more] shows. The first was ok depiction of the history of how Cuba was founded. The second show was mortifying. My eleven year old was in the audience and one skit depicted a cheating woman with an angry husband, the rest was the staff of the hotel doing a bunch of very confusing actions. They could use a lot more staff to keep the grounds/ pool/ hotel clean. There were always empty cups and cigarette butts all over the pool area and on the beach. The beach club is a hidden gem where the rooms are new and the pool bar is great. Only one a la carte was offered and we were promised 3. The price was very cheap so I knew going there to not expect too much. The resor is shutting down at the end of the season for some much needed renovations. I would not go back unless all of the issues were resolved.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Wonderful resort!

We had such a wonderful trip. The resort was extremely well kept and clean. The staff was excellent and the food was very good. We didn't find the resort too big so it was no problem walking from the beach to the buffet . Would highly recommend this resort.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: NOT a great resort!

When a resort states it is new or renovated I didn't expect to see poor washrooms that had broken fixtures, missing toilet seats, and overall poor renovated workmanship. This is not fault to staff working at the resort, but the huge problem with the towels, as we went 5 days with same beach towels, and the bath towels some were old, stained and grey in colour. There was 6 of us of and we all got sick due to cross contamination of food, drinks and not cleanliness!

Starfish Jibacoa: Great snorkeling venue

Fantastic long, sandy beaches, with lots of shade under trees. Best spot around for off the beach snorkeling. Staff are great. Great bar staff. Food is normal, really good desserts and bread. Beds could be more comfortable. Might be a good idea to bring a fitted sheet.
