Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Budget resort

Although we enjoyed our stay overall, this is at best a "budget" resort. Our room was dated and appeared heavily used, the tv was maybe 13", the beds are stiff and only a "double" so a couple would be hard to fit comfortably, and there was only (1)one plug available in the main room and (1)one in the bathroom, which was not convenient when trying to charge your devices .I believe they renovating this particular resort shortly, which is heavily needed. The buffet was fine, there was no specialty  [... read more] coffee shops, but the lobby did provide (3)three coffee machines that provided a variety. The beach seemed to have been eroded by the storms over the years as it was a lot narrower then we remember, coupled with extensive seaweed, but the team and the hotel were doing their best to clean it up quickly. I would not recommend nor stay here again unfortunately,

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great place and service

Great grounds, public area, 24 hour service, safety on resort, great for families, many options for everyone. Would recommend this resort to anyone, usually don’t write reviews, but I had a wonderful experience.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Amazing resort

Loved this resort.4th time visiting.The renovations were awesome.The food was all delicious.The staff go above and beyond with everything.We had the best time,and will definitely be returning next year.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: April 2025 stay

Only complaint was food/buffet. A la cartes are much better than buffet but difficult to get reservations. Food from buffet was always cold. Overall, good family resort but bring snacks if you’re travelling with children.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very nice resort

We stayed at Coba from Apr 10 to 17, 2025. The food was excellent. As for the beach you have to take a trolly to go over. The beach is small and has seaweed but its still nice. The a la carte restaurants we had Le Gourmet, The Brazilian and Don Pablo they were all very good but Le Gourmet was my personal favorite I would return to this resort again

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing resort

This resort is immaculate. The grounds are prestige. There is more than enough to keep the whole family entertained. We did not feel.that we needed to go.off resort for anything. We have spent years traveling to all inclusive resorts. By far the best. For the.most part food was very good Although Spanish and surprisingly Mexican were not very good.

Generations Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Our experience.

This resort was by far the best resort i have ever been to. The staff were professional, food was amazing, and the resort was prestine. A true 5 star resort. We will be back next year. If you are even thinking about this do not over think it just go here. I strongly recommend this to anyone!!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Lovely resort

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Bahia Coba. Lots of activities, food was good, staff was very friendly. It is more of a family resort. Lots of kids with a fun waterpark. The shows were great. I think they could use a little bit more entertainment in the evening after the shows. Maybe the sports bar could have music/a band for later night dancing/socializing other than that a great place to stay. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing resort!

The resort was very clean, had great service, and had tons of amenities. We never had to wait in a line at the bars or the buffets. Food was great, especially the snack bar breakfast! The nightly evening shows were very good. Reservations at the a la carte restaurant we’re very hard to get though.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort!!

Beautiful resort, nicely laid out and everything is near by. Christian at the pool bar is excellent. The Land Shark is the place to go to in the evening, always something going on and the food is great. We really enjoyed the Margaritaville theme with Jimmy Buffet lyrics all over surf boards and along the walls. No complaints about the resort itself, but it has no beach at all and also they could be better organized for the transportation to and from the resort. We were left waiting on both oc [... read more]casions and the hotel staff weren't sure if we would have to hire a taxi to bring us to the airport, luckily after they made a few calls someone finally arrived to bring us. Like I said, the resort is amazing and has a beautiful atmosphere,amazing food and friendly staff, would definitely go back.

The hotel grounds were immaculate, always kept very clean and very beautiful. The dining area was easily some of the best we've ever seen and the selection of food and quality food was a 10 out of 10. The only thing better than all of this was the customer service we received from all the employees thatwere always so friendly and eager to help with anything we needed

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing experience overall, would highly recommend especially for it's price

Had an awesome time. Pros: Beaches and pools are fantastic. So many activities with access to all 4 resorts. Buffet has tons of options, mexican cuisine was obviously the best. Cons: Sian Ka'an is far from the other resorts, shuttle takes 15min to get around, its a fun ride though. A la carte restaurants were pre-booked when you arrive and it's difficult to change reservations. Food at the a la carte restaurants ended up pretty meh, stick with seafood and avoid the international cuisines (asia [... read more]n, italian, french...).

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: 3 star resort

The beach is very nice with white sand. You could walk in front of a lot of resorts. The grounds were kept very clean and they have several pools. The pool with the swim up bar had lots of activities and music most of the day. There is a relaxing pool which was nice and you could find a seat before 9am. There were no seats available after 9am so if you are going out for the morning you will not be able to sit by the pool for the afternoon. There were several items that were raw, such as eggs (even the omelet station which you don't notice until your at the table). The service tended to be slow with us not getting refills or dishes cleared for some meals. The room we got was not nice. The AC wouldn't go below 24 degrees. We did report it twice and both times were told it was working. It did feel cool when you walked in but it was 30 degrees outside. Sleeping at night was awful. The toilet has a glass door dividing it from the bathroom so There isn't much privacy. The staff were all friendly. Beware as soon as you are checked in they try to hand you off to timeshare people saying they will explain the resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Over promise, Under deliver

THE GOOD... Overall the property is very large and beautiful and aging but quite well maintained. There are many pools (both busy and quiet) and expansive beach areas with safe swimming and decent snorkeling areas. There is no shortage of beach / pool recliners to spend a few hours in the sun. A very unique feature is the transportation system that is made up of a large number of large modified golf cart like vehicles that travels the many pathways and roadways throughout the resort on a regu [... read more]lar schedule. This is free to visitors of the resort. Most staff were quite friendly and helpful, with the exception of some front desk staff who tended to deflect concerns. Our visit to the Spa for a Mayan Massage and Reflexology treatment was excellent! our therapist was Berenice and she was excellent! Definitely the highlight of our week. THE BAD... Depending on the package and individual resort that you purchase there is a promise of dining at the specialty restaurants. The package we purchase was at the "Luxury" Akumal Resort which was supposed to include daily dinners at their specialty restaurants. Upon arrival, however, when we tried to book our dinners we were informed that all the restaurants were totally booked for the week! It was only after many heated discussions with several staff including 3 managers that we were able to get 5 of 7 bookings. Most of these were only discovered at the last minute after checking with the "entertainment" coordinators multiple times during the day! THIS CAUSED A LOT OF FRUSTRATION AND STRESS...something you go on holidays to avoid. Sadly, we have experienced the same frustration on previous visits to this resort but hoped that things would have improved. This resort was technically "all inclusive" but proved to be not really the case. The specialty restaurants had nearly as many choices on their menus that were available FOR AN EXTRA CHARGE as choices that were included, including liquor. The many bars had a reasonable amount of recognizable "premium" brands of liquor but when the staff poured drinks I always saw them use unrecognizable domestic brands? of cheaper liquor. The mixed drinks that included fruit juices all had a very UNPLEASANT chemical like taste which resulted from using cheaper fruit juice alternatives / concentrates. When I asked what type of red wine was being offered at dinner the waiter just laughed and declared that he did not know. Upon reading the bottle he was right. There was no grape variety listed, it just said red wine. Same for the white. (Unsurprisingly it was not good). But unsurprisingly you could actually purchase FOR AN EXTRA CHARGE a named bottle of Merlot, Cab Sav, Pinot Noir, etc. The same applied to some of the resort bars that were open in the evening. Despite displaying moderately premium brands of liquor, they were only available at EXTRA COST. We experienced several minor irritations with our room that included loss of TV signal on three occasions, malfuntion of the in room safe, and malfuntion of our room access key. While none of these were serious they took multiple conversations / visits with hotel staff to rectify. FRUSTRATION AND STRESSFUL! CONCLUSIONS.... In my opinion this resort is no longer 5 star but probably 4 star. Although they make many promises about the superior service level at the Akumal Resort this is not the case. We have also previously stayed at the Coba resort and there is not an appreciable difference (except that it is less expensive and has much better fun vibe...especially in the evening. We spent the most evening time there.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great resort!

This was our 3rd time at the resort. Great as expected. They are continually doing updates to rooms, grounds and services. Little tricky with the a la carte app but figured it out. Great response time by staff to any issues. NexusTours rep was not helpful at all but used the app and got the assistance needed. The Select Club Adults only was amazing, Great rooms, food and service. A la carte Brazilian restaurant had the most amazing food and Taco restaurant had fast service when you wanted a meal [... read more] or snack! Can't wait until the next time see what they have done!

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Clean, quiet and great service.

The rooms were clean and our concierge (Laura) was amazing. The restaurants were good and the preferred beach staff were excellent!! The preferred lounge staff were friendly and always catered to the guests.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: So much to do!

The resort grounds are beautiful with so many choices for things to do. We loved the variety of restaurants and pools and found the service very attentive. The reservation system for restaurants is a little frustrating but in the end we were able to grab 4 reservations for a la carte dinners which were all very good. We spent most of our days by the pool but the beach was just as fun. We loved walking to the pier to check out the fish. We love walking so having the mall, the mexican shop and the [... read more] mini putt, as well as access to the other 3 resorts was fantastic and having the double decker bus if we got tired was helpful as well. The rooms are dated but overall had everything we needed. We earned our meals walking up and down to the third floor each time. Overall this resort was a win!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful resort

Spent a wonderful week at the Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach. Beautiful, lush well-maintained property. Service, food, beverages were all very good. Beautiful beach, clean pool. Only issue was the music at the party pool was way too loud. We could have sat at other area's but would have missed all the pool games and entertainment.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing Vacation

I'll try to keep things short. Staff was fantastic. You must meet Florencio and the gang at El Dorado for the a la carte breakfast or lunch. It's worth it just for his humour. Food was a solid 8-9/10. We were very impressed. We had everything from lamb chops to chicken, steak, burritos, salmon/guac toast, fresh fruit and sushi. All exceded expecations. The resort is getting a little old and renovations are underway. The beach is better than expected but perhaps not as good as some other tropical locations. The sea weed which exists all down the coast was cleaned up quicker than we have ever seen. Very impressive. Drinks were great, bartenders were fantasic. There are some "high end" spirits, like Grey Goose, MOM gin and some good tequila! Despite being located in Cancun, the party atmosphere that I enjoyed in my twenties was much farther away, leaving this fairly big resort to itself, which we liked. Lots of entertainment in the pools and at night. People have complained about small portion sizes which we found not to be true. To those people who appreciate bigger portions, remember that it's ALL INCLUSIVE and you can order more. This is a ridiculous thing to complain about so ignore anyone who brings that up. SMH. Our room at the Diamond Hideaway was lovely. Two shower heads, a bench inside the shower, very spacious. From our balcony we could see the ocean. You can actually see the ocean from so many places at the resort. Resort is quite close to the aiport. I'm sure that it was less than 30mins door to door which included a stop at The Moon Palace. We did not see a lot of wildlife, for good or for bad. The odd iguana here and there. We had a fantastic time from beginning to end. If you read reports that include complaints, I would suggest that 90% of the issues where with the guest and not the resort or its fantastic staff. Some people just can not be pleased.
