Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great cozy resort , very welcoming!

I found the staff on the resort very friendly and hospitable .. the few minor concerns that we raised were addressed very quickly . The food was plentiful , lots of variety to choose from ; although they ran out of red wine mid way through the week 😐 The facilities in the resort itself ; rooms , lobby area , etc were kept very tidy . The weather was perfect , great week👍🏼

Ocean Blue and Sand: Highly Recommended

This is my third visit in three years. A very relaxing place, with a friendly and caring staff that is discreet and good humoured. The food is good, with a lot of variety. I don't go for the beaches and the nightlife but to sleep and to relax, and on occasion to work quietly and undisturbed. This is a place that you don't have to relentlessly Keep Up. It really respects the needs of the guests. A very discreet place.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: I loved it

The food was great loved the pool,beach, and fantastic entertainment. Maid could do a better job but l will definitely go back. I also loved the coffee shop piano bar and entertainment in lobby bar.?????????????????????????????????

Loved it but the maids need to have there work checked. I would go back but they need to do there job. Surprise checks on there work. The food was good and the pool and beach amazing. Never restocked bar only 2 sofa left in 1 week. The coffee shop is great. Would l.go back Yes would give it another chance.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good bad and ugly

I'll be short and to the point... The good: Rooms are modern, the grill at the adult pool is delicious, the resort entertainment, adult pool and pool parties were a highlight for us. The bad and ugly: Food was just ok, mold smell in Eden building and was very strong in our room we had to switch. Pools discolored my bathing suits, beach wasnt beautiful by any means there was lots of seaweed in the water and a strong smell. We booked excursions in the front lobby and the adult only party boat they booked us on was not adult only and had no gluten free options so I didnt eat for 12 hours. Anturo at the buffet was an absolute gem, he was very helpful with my food allergy and always made sure i was taken care of. Iliana is the best photographer on the resort, she has a great eye for angles, we loved her!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Wonderful Family Vacation!

I have to say, I was a little nervous prior to going after reading a variety of reviews for this resort....In the end, i am so glad that we chose to stay at the Ocean Riviera Paradise! We had such a great week from start to finish. If you are considering the privilege upgrade, I highly recommend it. All the staff are just wonderful and even made our little girls birthday extra special with some surprises for her. We especially enjoyed breakfast as it was way less busy than the main buffet and a perfect way to start the day. They did an amazing job at making us feel safe and comfortable while eating as our daughter has some severe allergies, Thank you! Our Butler Antonio was amazing and always had a smile on his face and really enjoyed making sure we had everything we needed. We aren't huge drinkers, but even still would opt for that extra touch and personal contact of the privilege upgrade. There is a variety of restaurants for dining and something for everyone. The water park for the kids is great and my daughter loved it. The resort is well kept and a good size with different pools and vibes depending on what you are looking for. The beach is a little rocky for the first entry, but after it was fine. I wouldn't say it had sharp rocks though for where I was walking and seaweed wasn't a real issue at all. I would certainly go back again and really had no issues with our stay.

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing resort!!

The hotel is very big, and has lots of viewing space, for example lots of room for walking and many pools and bungalows. The service at the hotel and at the beach is amazing!! The food is very delicious! All staff members are nice and friendly! The entertainment everyday is very enjoyable. Overall, a great hotel to choose when visiting cuba!!

Playa Vista Azul: OK resort

pros: - the rooms were clean and everything worked well. maid service was very good. - the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. - the check in and check out process was very good. cons: - the food was not very good and in some cases was not cooked properly(raw). - the mini bar did not get restocked all week. - the pool/beach service was erratic. in fact we didn't know there was service until day 3 and then it was gone again. - No decent coffee at the resort at all. - I have no  [... read more]idea what the activity people do except for a song and dance routine at 4pm every day.

Playa Vista Azul: Okay but could be Better

This hotel and resort is okay but could be better. The significant downgrade is because of the food and coffee. I know Cuba is suffering and the poor food in Varedera is always a factor, but we constantly had to check our meat to make sure it was cooked (often it wasn't) and everyone visually inspecting their plates to see if they were clean with no food particles left from washing was the norm. Service in the a la carts was good and the room cleaning staff were excellent. Beach is nice. The entertainment staff was non-existent during the day and seemed to magically appear at 3:30 to do a finishing dance. Second time to Varedera and probably won't ever to back....Cayo Coco and Holguin are much better.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great place to go.

My g/f and I were here for a week in November. The resort was well kept, the beach was beautiful. The food is like anywhere in Cuba, not fantastic but we always found something to eat so that wasn't a big issue. What made the trip great was the staff, everyone from the maids to the bartenders to the serving staff, all very welcoming and kind. We would definitely recommend this resort to others.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Not recommended if you want to eat

If you want to lose weight...come here...food is repetitive with limited selection even by Cuban standards.... first in line at dinner...and the food which should have been hot was cold! Coffee maker is great to have in your room...too bad there was no coffee available to put in it(I gave up after 3 requests) Minibar....not stocked... apparently there was "a problem at the factory".... Beware using resort store...billed on 2 separate credit cards despite paying cash for purchase as I was told the POS terminal did not accept both of my cards. Pros Grounds are very well kept Gardener was very pleasant and friendly as was the pool bar staff and generally all employees (except front desk) Beach was nice, however only 1 of 3 beach bars were ever opened(oops my wife made me add that) Conclusion Yes it's Cuba.... however there's no excuse why minimal quality standards cannot be met! Playa Vista Azul: Stay at Cuba

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. There was some cleanliness/food guidelines that were not adhered to and we had bathroom troubles from day 3 to 4 days post vacation. The beach is right beside the neighboring resorts beach and we could never find the "other beach" where the extra activities were located (we didn't look too hard so this may be our fault). Everyone was nice to us at the resort and were helpful when we needed something.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Family Destination

We traveled as a group of six aged 9-43 and there was something for all of us at this resort. The kids enjoyed the bowling lanes, and my older children took in a foam party sponsored by Coco Bongo. We enjoyed the monkeys living on the resort grounds. The pools were refreshing and the drinks were strong. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean and had ample room. Ocean El Faro: Awesome resort

Beautiful resort the staff is amazing grounds rooms restaurants very clean...definitely a 5 star the lazy river so much fun food very good lots of choices felt very safe there no issues with security at all

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Spectacular Beach and resort!!

This resort is spectacular, beautiful beaches, great staff, stunning views. Staff went out of their way to please. Rooms are clean, fresh towels and Beach towels in the room. Food was good. Typical for Cuba.

Ocean El Faro: Very disappointed

We stayed at the Ocean El Faro November 10 - November 17, 2019. Being in the low season they alternately closed a few restaurants every night and the casino was closed for the whole week. We were tricked in attending a timeshare meeting being told that it wasn't timeshare but rather for us to visit the privilege rooms and learn more about the privilege benefits. We were also told that it would only be an hour long. After three hours of them trying to sell us their privilege package I got s [... read more]o frustrated that I literally walked out on them saying that we weren't interested in their offer. They should be able to take NO for an answer. The beach is not the best. It has a lot of rocks which makes it very hard to go for a swim. However, the standard rooms are very nice and we just loved the Lazy River. The house wine was terrible.

The resort was maintained very well. Lots of variety of food to eat. Many different activities to do during the day. You didn't need to leave the resort. The beach was very beautiful and the pool well kept. The only thing I would complain about is having too many vendors that were in the restaurant area for the small space. They were very pushy and all the tables had the same items. Overall, a very good place to go.

Ocean Maya Royale: Definite Return!!

We loved everything about this resort. The rooms were clean, the food was amazing. Loved the daily pool entertainment. All the restaurants did not disappoint. Service was wonderful, staff was friendly. I would go back. We went in November, so there was quite a bit of rain, but still plenty of sunshine in the afternoon to enjoy the pool. My only issue with the resort was the lack of drainage after a rain. Always had to walk through a few inches of water to get to the rooms.
