Platinum Yucatan Princess: Fantastic and immaculate resort

The hotel is contemporary and beautifully designed. We had a swim out room which was a real treat and divided our time between "our" pool and beach. The grounds are lovely and well groomed. The entire resort is immaculate.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Definately a 5 Star Resort

The attention to detail by the hotel staff was excellent and the quality of the food in the restaurants on the Sian Ka'an site was amazing. There was no issue with the beach being located at the other Grand Bahia resorts as the transportation was always available if required but due to the excellent pool facilities we felt no need to leave the Sian Ka'an. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Awesome Resort!

This resort was so baby friendly. We got there expecting a play pen and a high chair and we got a bottle warmer, a crib, high chair, play pen, bottle sterilizer, baby bath, stroller, etc. ! Talk about full service! The resort was beautiful and staff was very friendly. The Seafood restaurant on the waterfront was delicious! As was the Italian restaurant!

Grand Sunset Princess: A perfect place for cat lovers!

Even though this resort has many good points, I'm going to start with the one thing that I found absolutely unacceptable. There were a lot of cats on the grounds of the hotel. Since I absolutely adore them, it was hard to see that many of them had injuries and there was one black kitten on the Sunset side that had such severe eye infection that she was almost blind! Many people (including myself) complained about the need of vet assistance to the hotel management, but the front desk supervisors  [... read more]said there is nothing they can do, which is a SHAME AND COMPLETE NONSENSE!!! How much would it cost in Mexico to hire a vet to come to the resort once a month and provide help to the poor defenceless animals? They advertise themselves as a 5-star resort and they claim they cannot spare pennies to help these deserving animals?! Really? Other resorts in Mexico and even in Egypt have been doing this for ages, but somehow Grand Sunset/Riviera Princess in Riviera Maya claim there is nothing they can do? Here is an idea: how about starting a fund at the front desk to collect money for the vet help - I'm certain many tourists would like to donate. On the positive side, the beach does not feel crowded, unlike in other bigger resorts. There are always a lot of sun loungers available for use any time of the day. The buffet food was good quality and tasty. Even though we stayed there for 2 weeks, I can't say we got tired of it. Among the a la carte restaurants, La Hacienda was our favourite - the seafood dinner was absolutely delicious! The cooking show at Miso was also great fun and a memorable experience. Finally, this resort has separate smoking and non-smoking buildings, which is great, you just need to make sure you are getting what you requested right at the check-in.

Grand Sunset Princess: Just what we needed!

A gorgeous resort that gave us everything we needed! Stunning grounds with so many options to sit and relax, gorgeous beach as well as several pools to choose how loud or quiet you would like it! Food was great with tons of healthy options - a little less salt in it would have made it perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful and aimed to make your stay enjoyable and stress free. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Awesome resort!

My boyfriend and I went to the Grand Bahia Principe Tullum April 28-May2 for a quick getaway. It was his first all-inclusive experience so I wanted it to be a positive experience for him. I contacted the resort ahead of time to make arrangements to celebrate his birthday. The resort accommodated our requests and ensured all our needs were met. Service was excellent. Food was great and plenty. We will definitely return.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good value.. Great time

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the resort.. Food and drinks were good.. room was big and bed was comfortable.. Only negatives were the beach was not that great.. Not a lot of shade available.. It is narrow and a lot of weeds wash ashore.. My biggest complaint though is the lack of respect by certain tourists who bring glass beer bottles into the pool area and can't be bothered to take or put their empty glasses back.. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: First Class Resort

Rooms were beautiful. TVs in the room had movies, HBO,sports. Restaurants were great. Didn't have a bad meal. Service excellent. The nightly shows were very good. The sports bar was great. I watched NFL draft, playoff hockey and Blue Jays baseball.The 3 different hotels within the Resort were well separated. Hotel is fairly isolated. An hour or $50 cab from Cancun or Playa. With all the money spent on this resort, could have bought a few more umbrellas, for pool and beach. Hate getting up early to fight for umbrellas and chairs. Platinum Yucatan Princess: Can't wait to return.

Loved everything about this resort. Of course, the beach is a non-starter with this season full of seawood but that's Mother Nature. But I'm a pool person and this resort has the best pools ever; huge and numerous. Wonderful food, outstanding service from all staff who seem to be very happy working there which is, of course, a good barometer of the site. A small resort compared to the two sister properties: Sunset and Riviera, to which one has access but not vice-versa which keeps Yucatan facilities so accessible. We're 60+ guests and chose a swim-out suite in the quiet area: Building 2 (odd numbered rooms) and Building 1 do not look out on the main 'party' pool. For those who want the party aspect of a resort, Building 3 is the closest to the main pool and Building 4 and Building 2 (even-numbered rooms) look out onto the main pool area. Building 5, a small upgrade in cost, is also quiet from what I could see and is closer to the restaurants/beach but the resort isn't huge so really makes no difference. Will definitely return as often as I can!

Grand Sunset Princess: Guaranteed to be lovely

This is the second time I've been to this resort. The staff is always very friendly, the grounds are amazingly well kept. The food is very good. The big buffets have a great selection for even the pickiest of eaters. I love that the resort has so many pools to choose from. There was always a possibility of getting a spot by the pool, or the beach for that matter, and I'm pretty sure the resort was full the week I went. Plus they have a hand tram that you can take if need be.

I did not pick this resort as it was picked for a wedding our son was in ..our whole family decided to go...we were in awe of the resort ..lovely resort ..great rooms ..fabulous food ..we will come again.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort but with a few glitches

The hotel transfer was easy. Just go past all the people until you see the air transat signs; they'll have a list with your name and resort and show you where to wait. They sell beer and water on the bus cheaper than you can buy outside the terminal. We got a welcome drink when we arrived and didnt have to wait long to check in. They have a welcome dinner for new arrivals which was good and some entertainment It is easy to get arou [... read more]nd on foot to different areas of the hotel, but if you get tired, they have bus signs where you can get picked up and taken wherever. There is a shuttle for $6US OR 65Pesos (each way), that will take you to playa del carmen. The a la carte restaurants were phenominal. The oriental and french are a must and the steakhouse is always booked so keep checking back if you want to eat there. The bars are well stocked with a wide selection of hard liquors and you can get any drink imaginable.There were good acitivites put on by the staff during the day and lots of bars to get a drink. On saturday, they had vendors come to the hotel for a night market. We saw some things that werent available in playa del carmen. Now here are the glitches: bar times varied (beach bar only available to vip during the day); 24hr pizza only available if the buffets not open; dive centre on site somewhat unorganized and pricey; internet service not very good for size of the hotel and # of guests; buffets not overly good but decent. Overall, my boyfriend and i enjoyed our stay here, but we personally like to try different resorts so most likely wouldn't stay here again for that reason alone.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: wonderful

First it was a very good experience booking with Tripcentral.This was my second time staying at Grand Sirenis Riveria Maya, again a wonderful time. It is very clean, room are minimalist decor, the food is good always something to good to eat.The Japanese and Italian restaurant were fabulous. The children loved the lazy river and the ice cream parlor. The beach was a little disappointing as is was the season of lots of seaweed, they did tried very hard to clean but was coming in. faster than they [... read more] could keep it up.The only thing that was a BIG issue was to use the ATM , charged $7.85 plus 10% of the money you were taking out. Terrible. Take out cash at airport. Its is a large property, shuttles are available but you may need to wait and you may need to do alot of walking( which is ok). The evening show were very professional, better than the average resort.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Beautiful resort!

The resort is spread out over many acres. The monkeys saunter around & swing through the trees! Very pristine surroundings & well kept. The beach is a good walk to get to and being on a coral reef, it is rocky. We will DEFINITELY return!

Riu Palace Mexico: Great well-kept resort

The hotel was great and while smaller than resorts I have visited, it was lovely. The hotel was very clean and our room was always maintained very well by housekeeping staff. The food in the buffet was always very good and most importantly, did not cause any upset stomachs for our family. We travelled with our 11-month old daughter therefore would suggest that families travelling with young children request rooms away from the entertainment stage as loud music will occur until 11 pm each evening [... read more]. The hotel has 4 pools and there was never a problem finding chairs in the shade and sun. The beach was nice however had a lot of waves. Overall, the trip was memorable for our family.

Everything was fantastic! We will return with our adult children and grand children. We wanted to relax. We did. We wanted comfort. We got it. We wanted great service. It happened. We walked the beach. We found the food to be excellent. Well done Grand Bahia!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Great Resort and awesome staff

This hotel has gone trough a resent renovation and it certainly improved this resorts standing as a got to resort. This is a quiet resort and no the spot to party .The grounds ere kept well and we cannot say enough about the staff. They are the core of this resort from wait staff to grounds staff and management. Food is average and e would suggest perhaps theme night meals at the buffet as many like a little change with the normal buffet fare. As the beach is somewhat narrowed by the coral the swimming pool is a great option for cool down but needs the lounge chairs. Resort is close to the town of Akumal which makes for a nice walk. There are also restaurants on the beach which makes a nice change for meals if you get bored of the resort food. We like to travel to different resorts so I would be unlikely if we went back but only for that reason.

El Dorado Royale: Fantastic resort!

Staff, grounds were great! Food was outstanding. Wish the pools were more active...only the main pool had music...too many quiet pools.entertaient was great, service was outstanding, food was incredible.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Best Snorkeling Ever!

I have snorkeled in quite a few places but this area was by far the best I have ever experienced. Not only the graceful and majestic sea turtles, but Southern Sting Rays, Moray Eel, Giant Parrot Fish as well as lots of coral and other tropical fish. The water is very clear and shallow for quite a distance. It is a small resort and everything is very centralized. The restaurants are close to the pool and beach. Food was amazing and staff is plentiful and helpful. It is rare to have a good A La  [... read more]Carte meal in a resort in my experience, but the Brazilian Steak House and Japanese Fusion Restaurants were outstanding. No pre-booking required - just show up and if a table is available you will be seated. The resort activity crew is low key and no one bugs you to play volley ball or do some other silly game by the pool. The music is low key and easy listening. A short 10 minute walk up the beach and you can visit a little town with lovely craft and souvenir shops - great cafe too. Some people complained about the kelp/sea weed that washes up onto the beach each day but the staff work tirelessly to clean it up and it really is a lovely beach. I never go back to the same resort twice but I am counting the days until I can return to Akumal Bay Resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Just ok!

The beach was not good, they tried to keep it clean but so much seaweed it was impossible. Our room was fine but we never received the best service, our fridge was barely ever stocked nor could our maid speak any English. the food was just ok, I have been to Mexico before and the food was wonderful. the pools were great and fairly clean.
