TRS Yucatan: As predicted, the best vacation ever!!!
We have been in Grand Palladium Riviera Mayan 8 times as this is our favourite resort and TRS Yucatan is one of the best. We stayed on December 10 - 17 in building 65 with ocean front view on the third floor. Everything in this resort is excellent - food, beer, wine, tequila, friendly and knowledgeable staff, new room, pools and fun activities.
One of our favourite aspects of our vacation was to do yoga every morning in the gym, at 8 AM, by the ocean at 10 AM and 5 PM with Alexia. Butlers, Osc[... read more]ar and Eric, are great guys, always helpful and funny, the guys you want to be around. The Foam Party on Colonial beach, I call it Caribbean Snow, all the restaurants in TRS are great. Chic Cabaret was very entertaining. The coral in front of Royal beach seems to be getting bigger and bigger, a good sign for snorkelling.
TRS Yucatan is the nice place to be :)

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Royal Decameron
This was my 3 rd visit here. The staff was very friendly and hardworking. The food and entertainment quality went down. There was a lot of changes made to who was performing and what night. It was never what the board said. Used to be every night a dance routine now they added lame trivia night and a couples contest. Front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very clean and grounds were very well maintained. They even swept the side walks and cobble stone roads around th[... read more]e complex. They need more English taught to the staff though.

Holiday Inn Ixtapa: Excellent vacation
My partner and I went from Dec 13 to Dec 20, 2018. The hotel was very clean, our maid was awesome. She didn’t speak English but she always made sure she figured out what we needed anyway and always left cute towel creatures on the bed. The entertainment guys at the pool were so fun. Victor and Carlos were always chatting with us and trying to get people involved and up and moving. The food was good and and pretty good variety. Lots of Mexican food, very little western cuisine. We did not know [... read more]that Mexican children were already out of school so the resort was quite busy. Even tho it was very busy there were always enough chairs at the pool and the beach. All in all, I would give this place a 4 out of 5 and I have stayed at almost every resort on Ixtapa beach.

Riu Emerald Bay: Expectations over exceeded
This hotel was our beautiful home for our first family vacation of four. We had two kids 3 and 1 and couldn’t have had a better experience. Staff was great , food was excellent, drinks were cold , and the sun was hot.
The ocean is amazing to be in, as well as the pools.
We had the best time , and would consider going back to this same resort in the future.

Oh Cancun On The Beach: Basic Resort with few Amenities
We just returned from the Oasis Lite and found the resort simply OK. 3 days in we paid to upgrade to the black wristbands which was necessary because the food options with the Lite were simply awful. Factor that into the price or you will be disappointed. Food is the biggest disappointment at this resort. They don’t even have guacamole or pico de gallo!!!
Rooms were ok. Very basic. Old and worn down. Almost no furniture in the rooms but the Beds were extremely comfortable!
One of the[... read more] worst things about this resort is the constant noise. The music never turns off and it never changes. Imagine constant never ending techno music. There is no where on the resort that is quiet...ever! The pools are so cold, the ocean is way warmer!
The drinks are so hit and miss from one bar to the next. Some were great, others simply undrinkable and you just tossed and tried another place.
Finally, I was very disappointed in how many of the bartenders overserved extremely intoxicated people. To the point where people were getting into troubling and precarious situations.

Crown Paradise Club: Good value family resort
Great beach for Pv. Good but not great food. Service is just ok. Rooms are clean, modern. Grounds are nice, well kept. Wifi good in common areas, but spotty in our room. I would go again, as the price was excellent.
A long review but hopefully helpful. :)
I visited this resort in November for 7 days with my husband and 2 other couples. We booked here to celebrate my 50th birthday. I cannot say enough about the service we received! A huge shout out to Lizeth,(she is the web relations person I spoke to before we arrived). As she went above and beyond to help us have the perfect vacation. First, she responded promptly to my email before we arrived, then she called our room on the day after we arrived to [... read more]make sure we enjoyed the decorations they had placed for me.(They had many balloons decorating the walls and ceiling, as well as a towel cake complete with confetti on our bed. Beautiful!!!! ⤠On the table sat a fresh fruit tray,a bottle of tequila,a bottle of sparkling champagne with 2 flute glasses, along with chocolate covered strawberries! Who could ask for more?!) She also called on two other occasions to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to make our vacation perfect. Sandos is very lucky to have her as their representative on the web. Thank you so much Lizeth!! 😘😠Extremely professional and attentive staff in all other areas of this resort as well.
We stayed in the Select Club area which was changing to the Family area during our week. The rooms here were spotless and we had a great view of the pool from or second floor balcony. It is about 11 mins to walk from here to the beach but there is so much to see on the way that it feels much faster. They have a cat cafe which is a fantastic idea,as well as a rescued donkey and sheep. There were also many inspiration quotes carved into wood that were a pleasure to read on the walk. The grounds are beautifully maintained so this helped make the scenery a joy here.
Our maid was Liliana and she made beautiful towel art every day as well as kept our room clean. Thank you Liliana! 😘
We loved the adults only breakfast buffet and the choice to use the main buffet if desired. All of the food was great. Many options. We ate at the Italian a la carte twice,The Asiana, the Steakhouse and the French. All were great but our fave was the Italian.
We loved having the chance to visit the Palm Bay resort next door that was under construction during our stay. Their water park and pools are fantastic and it will be great once finished!
All the bartenders were friendly and smiling but we loved the premium bars the most! Great top shelf liquor as well as service. We also loved the Cupcake cafe, you have to try it....awesome desserts and fabulous coffee/espresso/latte options. Yummy!!
The shows were great! We LOVED the AC DC tribute band as well as the Michael Jackson and Shakira shows.
Lastly, the beach is GORGEOUS!!!! Clear blue water, wide sandy area where you can walk for miles! Also many activities for all to enjoy!
I know I have forgotten some things but this review has to stop at some point. I never visit a resort twice but this is definitely one that I will make an exception for. This was our first experience with the Sandos hotels and it was remarkable!! Thank you Sandos Playacar!! We will definitely look for more Sandos resorts for our next vacation!

Riu Emerald Bay: Great resort
I have been to Riu Emerald Bay several times.I enjoy my stay there very much as I only go to rest and get some sun.My husband enjoys this resort because he has mobility issues and there are table and chairs everywhere and he feels comfortable walking around. This time I was a little disappointed because there were a lot of towels being taken off some lounge chairs so you had to watch your stuff. The resort was also filled with Mexican families so if that bothers you ,this is not the place for you.[... read more]The food is very good and the servers are very friendly and the price of the trip was decent.

Riu Santa Fe: Solid 4.5 *is
We are a fam of 4. We stayed for 11 days. We were a bit unsure how ot will all be given the past reviews, but here is the summary (and we travel a lot!)
Good: easy check in, hotel is clean, grounds are maintained daily, happy staff, the pools are great too- there is a quieter area if u wish to sit and relax...but if you want a bit more lounder and entairtaining area, head down towards the beach. There are 3 pools there- one for singles, amd 2 for eberuone else!
We stayed in Building 3- central[... read more]. Good. If you are family- request building 3 or 4 or 5. If you are single, request 6, 7, 8 ,9.
Single life- is awesome..they have pool parties almost daily at a separate pool/area. Seems lots of fun. Beach lovers: still worth going! I was turned iff when I read that you can't swim in the ocean as its too deep/strong undertoe...however, all that IS TRUE, BUT the view on the beach IS THR BEST VIEW EVER! bring your drinks/food on the beach and enjoy it. Sooo beautiful. Food: was great! I am a medium picky eater and I can say it was great at the main California buffet. We went there for breakfast and dinner- really zero complaints....from fish, pork, steaks, chicken to rice, pasta, veggies, potatoes to deserts and crapes! Breakfast was equally good!
Lunch buffet (La torata) was Alright. Some days they had awesome selection and other days was just good. No one got sick ..and we were there for 11 days! Drinks were great.
The bad: 1. I would just ask the hotel to try to book singles away from building 3 and 4 and 5, as it was a bit annoying to hear drunk yound adults coming to their room (next to mine) at 3am. 2) would be nice that they play music ALL THE TIME at the pools near beach and habe the 3rd pool bar opened All the time 3) kinda weird that the restaurant Mariachi band would say "we only play for tips"... have never experienced that before...usually they play and hope they would get a tip...but these guys would not play unless u gave them a tip first. 4) last annoying thing was the hotel does NOT give you condishioner nor body was (just shampoo). Ladies- you know-how hair gets without conditioner lol. You had to ask, and they would bring you ONE. And also what does not make it better than 4.5 is that the rooms are cleaned daily but not mirrors nor the comforters... oh and 5) you have got to cook hot dogs more on the beach grill! :)
Overall, definitely would recommend you go
And excursions- would be great as well....the glass boat was AWESOME...not so much for the glass boat part but for seeing the beauty around it, the sea lions, the caves...etc

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Let down
The hotel has a great reputation but we thought it wasn't up to standards🤔
Pool area not very clean... room services plates left in hallways for hours which was gross. Drinks inconsistent every day. Yes they have hard working employees for sure. But we have stayed at 8 different all inclusive sin PV and we not return to secrets. Unfortunately we payed a high price for this resort and it's not a 5 star at all.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Very friendly, quiet place
We enjoyed the more intimate ambiance due to it being a smaller resort and with that came the ability to get to know the friendly staff in all areas. Lovely beach, cleanliness was evident everywhere, rooms, restaurants, grounds and the beach. Nightly live music was good and during the day we were able to enjoy the one man orchestra band, Abel who played for us frequently. The snorkeling was very good, saw sting rays, mantra rays, tropical fish and turtles. The paddle boarding staff were great, [... read more]special thanks to Aytar who was very helpful, encouraging and professional and eager to learn English which we really appreciated and enjoyed. Big thank you to Christopher and German as well.
Cristian, the lobby bartender, and Sintia the lobby server were very good, pleasant and engaging.
The women serving drinks worked very hard and consistently and were a lot of fun, with a special thanks to Patricia, Abigail, and Sandra. Clemente the beach bartender was very good.
The staff at the front desk were very pleasant, prompt and professional, Minerva, Zaisha, Tesla and Joanna. Any concerns re questions we had were dealt with immediately and positively.
We enjoyed eating at the buffet and the wait staff from busters, waiters, cooks, etc were very efficient and friendly. Special thanks to Carlos, Jesus, Otilio, Kevin , Alejandro H and the hostesses Ingrid and Iris.
Salvatore the beach ambassador attended to many of our needs with a big engaging, friendly smile.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Women’s trip
We got into cancun’s airport, left easily, got on to the bus that left fairly quickly. 50 minutes to get to the hotel.
First impression was good. Lobby smells nice. Originally asked for two beds, got one, issue was resolved when we got to the room.
Property is alright. Boxy looking but still nice. Have a few pools, beach is crazy close and very nice. No seaweed and chairs were easy to get.
As a palace stayer, you’re welcome to go over to Dunamar and hang out, eat breakfast and lu[... read more]nch. They told us no to the dinner and we didn’t try. Dunamar felt like the more fun little sister of palace.
If you’re looking for a completely relaxing trip, this is a nice place to go. There are barely any activities. No music during the day so bring your own if you want to hear any.
Bars are nice, booze is good. The people that came with me said they couldn’t feel any of the alcohol unless they drank wine. I am not of that opinion. Lol.
Food is good. You’ll have enough to eat. We weren’t a fan of any of the dinner restaurants. It was almost like they are trying too hard and screwed it up. People we talked to who were also vacationing said the same thing. We all agreed the Italian was the only one that was worth going to. You’ll see when you try it because everyone wants to at least try. Buffet was great, tasty stuff. Repetitive but alright. Switch it up and go to dunamar. Their selection is a bit different than ours so at least you’ll get variety. Quality of food was good both places.
Rooms were clean and cleaned daily, pretty basic stuff. Pillows were sub par. Small and lacking.
They have a cafe/bar that’s pretty central so folks hang there. They have all kinds of drinks and the coffee was good as were the lattes, capuchinos and espressos.
We did the water slides at dunamar and boy are they steep, but fun.
They’ve got a sports bar over at dunamar too. Gotta pay 5 bucks usd to play pool. We tried as it rained one day. What happened to all inclusive?
Shows are alright. Elegance one was nice. We walked over to dunamar for shows as they were more lively. Check out the Vegas one. Was really cool.
All in all, I likely won’t come back here but am not sad I came. I think it’s because it’s so new, it was kinda boring. Maybe in a couple of years after they become established, I might try.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: The resort was really amazing. I will go again!!
The hotel, service, food and staff were so great. Our room was kept very clean and the condiments and bathroom supplies were replenished daily. The food at the various restaurants was really good most of the time. Some evenings the restaurant staff seemed overwhelmed by the crowd of guests and the food suffered on these evenings. My only complaint was the staff and charges from the Spa. Spa staff walked around the pool area requested we buy services such as pedicures, manicures and massages. The[... read more]y assured us if we called #39 and cancelled we wouldn't be charged. Surprise, as we checked out we were charged for all Spa services even if we called to cancel them. Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Nice resort, well maintained gardens
Nice greens and well maintained by gardeners. Drawback for resort is a massive construction( resort is building additional rooms, over 300 of them but this information is not available during the booking. It is dishonesty and unfair to people booking vacation. Resort and Tripcentral should have this info posted. We ended up in the room with view on construction. Our balcony and partial ocean view was useless because of construction noise.
Other bad experience: resort made changes of building l[... read more]ocations for families and adults only, but didn't manage to get all information maps on the resort grounds and printed maps in the rooms to up date with all those changes. Shame!!!
I would not recommend this resort until all construction is completed

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Back for the 3rd time!
It's been a while since we've been to the Secrets Capri as prices have been high for a few years. Also our first time travelling to Mexico in December but the price was right! You fly into Cancun (air conditioned airport) which is great and have a 45 minute ride to the resort. The food and entertainment continue to be top notch. Rooms are clean and everyone is very friendly. We had one rain day but that is to be expected anywhere you go. The coffee shop is great and open 24-7 and you can [... read more]borrow books in a variety of languages. No wrist bands needed and no reservations for restaurants with the exception of the Japanese. Top notch alcohol and the wine (white is great).
