Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing week!!!

We went to Barcelo resort as a group of 6, my wife and four grown kids. We enjoyed our morning workouts at the beautiful fitness facility, amazing meals at both the buffets and the alacarte restaurants. Very much highly recommend and hope to return again.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful resort

I love this resort and have nothing but great things to say about it. When one goes a number of times you will see the same faces, staff and visitors, this says something as there are many places to choose from so why the DeCameron? It is simple, they make you feel as though you are coming home. One of the best things that I can say about this visit is that Ricardo is BACK. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Big resort, great landscape

Big resort, great landscape, good food, friendly and helpful personal (Tomas Carrera, reception), good rooms and room service. Bad part - volleyball net goes down at 4:40PM, no negotiation, while other hotels around keep the net on all the times. After 4pm is the prime time to play, not hot. Lots of people in line to play while entertainment member comes and simply removes the net, I personally never never ever seen anything like this on vocation. Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great family holiday

The accomodations were good, although bathroom could have been cleaner. Entrance door to bedroom was difficult to open, and the bed too soft for our licking. TV transmission was not great. Great balcony for relaxation and reading. Restaurants were great, staff very helpful and polite. Nice clean beach, and great pools.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Okay time beach horrible

The hotel is huge coba is nowhere near the beach but can take tram to beach. Beach not great pools were good pool at Tulum way better. Rooms were good. Given one bed for two girls asked for room switch but didnt ljke the location of the room slept on couch. Food was mediocre. Shows were great. Overall hotel was good. Didnt ljke the timeshare guys bothering us everytime we walked by. If every returned would stay at Tulum. Brazillian resturant qas oksy loved the Mediterranean one

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres

The facilities in the very first room allocated had lot of complications . No telephone, flooded washrooms prevented us from having a shower throughout stay in first two days.The ground transport in the resort is ineffective, gave us lots of hardships for us to move in the resort.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Loved the atmosphere and people - Not Celiac friendly.

Overall we really liked the resort! They have extremely friendly staff, Eric and Ximena were very accommodating. If we had any issues with the rooms, they were eager to help us immediately. The resort had a good gym with a great schedule (for those who like to stay active). I took tennis lessons with Christian and they were AMAZING - he was an incredible coach. The service on the pool deck was prompt and very friendly. For the entire NINE days that we were there, we never felt like we needed [... read more] to leave the resort - there were tons of things to do. We upgraded our room from the lagoon view (it was stinky and gross) to the ocean view (which is facing the pool, not the ocean) - we loved the rooms here - they did not feel dirty and they were very modern. The spa was beautiful - it was over-priced, but we really enjoyed our massages and the whole experience. BUT there is one reason why we won't return... 1.) I am a celiac and we chose this resort based on the high reviews for the food. They ask if you have allergies at every restaurant, but as soon as you say yes, you see their face drop...I was very limited on options because the staff hadn't been educated on Gluten/Gluten-Free options. One night we had a romantic 5-course lobster dinner on the beach, 3/5 of the courses the server put in front of me had gluten. I had to ask multiple times for them to check and the server assured me it was gluten-free... then the chef came out and was appalled that I had a puff pastry in front of me. Needless to say, I was sick the whole trip :(

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: My favourite resort!

Everything was so well kept, they were constantly keeping the grounds and buildings maintained. There are a lot of options to eat at different buffets so you never get sick of the food. The friendly staff is one of the main reasons why I love this place, they are so welcoming. There was a lot of seaweed being washed up on the beach, but the maintenance guys were constantly removing it.

Secrets Huatulco: Fantastic Views

The resort property is very scenic....the views from room, sky bar and spa area is just wow! The resort is fairly small so it’s easy to get around. It may not be a good choice for someone who has mobility issues. Pools were beautiful, we preferred the quiet pool, again with an infinity view over the bay! Lots of loungers. Beach was nice and took a walk over to the secret beach and was the only one there! Food was good, breakfast buffet was plentiful, omelet and quesadill station.  [... read more] Castaways for lunch was good with scenic views of the bay. Spice was our favourite restaurant with lots of tasty appetizers to share. Resort is very quiet - if you’re looking to party go elsewhere. Entertainment didn’t usually start until 9:30 so there could be a bit of a lull between dinner and shows. The resort and rooms itself were kept very clean but could use some upgrades, not posh but clean!

El Cozumeleno Beach: Great location, poor food

Great location, service and beach. Rooms really dated but clean. Food very poor - food poisoning outbreak during our stay and EVERYONE was ill, many for days. Is hand washing hygiene enforced with the kitchen staff? From what I saw, it isn’t.

Had a wonderful time at the Royal Decameron Complex. I felt very comfortable there. The staff and the clientele were all so very friendly. There was a lot of choice for food and lots of fresh fruit and fruit juices. Our room was very clean and fresh. We stayed in the adult area of the complex so it was nice and quiet. We could walk to another area if we wanted action, and it was a nice short walk to the beach. The sand was very clean and we had no fear of walking barefoot. A nice feature [... read more] was that we could walk for hours along the beach in either direction of the resort. We could also walk a few blocks to town or to a convenience store. We could use the bikes for free to ride and explore, and the boogie boards were also free to use. I would definitely go back and stay longer. Excellent Bang for your Buck.

Riu Santa Fe: A Riutiful Holiday!!

Buffets better than a la carte. Beautiful setting. Shortage of bartenders and no drink service around entertainment or pool. Only one beer available. Rooms need upgrading..villa 7 quite musty and contents showed mildew. Staff fairly friendly. Great variety of entertainment and activities.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Amazing Staff & Tasty Food

Overall a very clean resort. Personally did not like the buffet food, and beaches were very rocky, but staff was great and still had a great time... FOOD & STAFF Staff was amazing, (Victor, Rusbel, Enrique & Maria) as well as front desk staff and ALL bartenders were a pleasure to chat with daily. Sunny Side & El Patio were the best restaurants. We did not try the Italian one since I eat italian food way too much, but overall, food was delicious and many options from the two listed above. Not [... read more] a fan of the buffet for any meal, just found the options were minimal and picked over. ROOM: Stayed in 2031, 3rd floor - Room was cleaned and restocked with non-alcohol beverages daily. Only complaints - one mirror that was in the bathroom which would steam up when showering so bring an extra to do your makeup! Bed was a little on the firm side, so be prepared for some stiffness in the morning. Other than that. The AC worked WONDERS! Better than the one I have back home and the ceiling fan was super quiet. Tiny ant like bugs in the washroom on occasion but barely any. Doors are not insulated very well so you can easily hear conversations of the loud drunks walking by at 2am, but not horrible enough to pay for the upgrade to the “adult pool side” POOL & BEACH: Pools were fairly clean, but overall hard to keep super clean since we had a bit of rain when we went and it was windy. Cool temperatures kept me out of the pool but the activities seemed to bring everyone in to play. The beach was cleaned daily with lots of seating and hammock options, though the waters are ROCKY! Be prepared to walk very slowly or just sit on the edge like i did. Waters were like bath water. Staff would come take drink orders right from the beach too. NOTES: We went dec 17-24 in room 2031 - it is windy and cool at night! Bring a jacket since many restaurants sit outside and entertainment shows are all done by the pool at night (i was freezing!) - rainy days will also call for a jacket as temperatures cool - for a beach that you can actually swim at, rent a scooter (right outside the resort) for $40USD for 24h and go to a spot named “miami beach” (the next beach and bar past the well known rasta beach bar) - bring a mini speaker for the room or beach to listen to your own music, there’s no speaker included in the room - don’t pay for wifi, head to the lobby for free connection and do what you need to, paid wifi apparently had a bad connection said people we met there - this is a small resort so set days for excursions like playa del carmen or downtown cozumel - this is a resort for families (mainly younger kids) or couples, if you are single looking for a party spot, this is not the place Overall we had a great time and would recommend it for a relaxing and lay low trip, we loved everything we ate at Sunny Side and El Patio and LOVED seeing Victor & Rusbel from sunny side and Enrique, and Maria from el patio daily. The Reef 28 Playa del Carmen: Fantastic Vacation

This hotel was great! The rooms were very nice, food was great and service was excellent. We would definitely return to this property. 24 hour Room service, a la carte menus, beautiful rooftop pool and hot tubs. We loved this place!

Occidental Cozumel: Great staff

Smaller resort with really nice grounds. Outdoor entertainment was outside or first block and we had to move. Rooms are 24 per block and set up in a courtyard fashion - you hear everything/everybody. Got super busy/uncomfortable just before Christmas.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: We will never go anywhere else!

The Bahia Principe has everything you could need. We returned for our honeymoon after staying in Tulum previously. Akumal is our favourite because it is right on the beach with a very nice infinity pool, snack bar/buffet, and beachfront. The adults-only sections are a nice feature. The 24 hour wifi, nightly a la carte dinners, and access to the entire resort makes Akumal worth the extra money compared to staying in Coba or Tulum. Our complaints are only minor, and would compare to other resorts. [... read more] The staff are the nicest people in the Mayan Riviera compared to many other places we have been in the Caribbean. The food never gets tiring, and the resort has so much to offer that in the 6 times I have been there, I've never left the resort! This time we stayed for 10 days instead of 7, and it was a perfect length of time to really get the most out of the sun and the amenities. The nightlife on the resort seems to have improved greatly, and we enjoyed the shows and music every night. The casino and club in Hacienda were also very fun nightly activities. We will definitely keep going back!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Big resort

Staff were great! Food at buffet was always the same. Thankful it wasn’t too hot since we didn’t have any a/c The toilets at pool and at beach were really bad. I really liked the peacocks and wildlife on the resort.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Paradise!

This was our second visit to Paradisus Esmeralda - and this time we decided for extend our trip to 9 nights! Our kids regularly asked to go to the kids club because of the programming, the new water park was an awesome surprise! (Bring life jackets if your kids aren’t strong swimmers - it’s deep!) The food was amazing as always! Only negative...the beach, while beautiful soft sand, does stink of seaweed and there is coral in the swimming area.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort

I only have good to say. about this resort. It's very big and takes a bit to get the layout, but the shuttle service ran smoother then a small city and staff is great. A true 5 star. All services are well provided.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: True paradise

We have been to at least 10 all inclusive resorts in past 10 yrs. All 5 stars.but this brand new resort is definitely a winner. We loved it so much in March 2018 so we went back for this Christmas 2018 again. Same resort in one year tells you how much we loved this resort. The design is very unique unlike typical all inclusive resort. It is just breathtaking. Everywhere you look you are with the beautiful nature. No wonder it is owned by same owner who has all the famous parks in the area. Xcaret,Xelha,Xplor,Xenses..it is all inclusive. Shuttle bus takes you there every 20 min. Just amazing.
