Punta Peninsula Varadero: A nice place to stay in Varadero!
The food is good. Room is old, but clean and neat. Close to the pool, a little bit noisy during the day. Room service is ok, a free bottle of rum, but missing free cigar. Gave the lady 5 cuc tips after leaving.
Melia Marina Varadero: Very good resort
We travelled late March to Melia marina Varadero. The location is a bit far from everything, about a half hour or so from Varadero and the second to last resort on the peninsula. However, it was quiet and had everything one could want. The biggest issue I had was the drinks being uninteresting and too small and the entertainment is outside and it was in an ackward area where you couldn't always get a seat with a view of the "stage". The pools were shallow and cold but that's typical of cuba. T [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: More good than bad
Grounds were amazing. A very pretty well laid out resort. Lots of choices at the buffet. Some better than others but for Cuba above average and you will not go hungry. Nightly entertainment in the lobby absolutely wonderful. Never went to the theatre entertainment. Beaches better downtown. Resort very clean. Any issues were not due to the frequency of cleaning but by tourists with no consideration for others or common sense manners. Biggest issue was the sheer number of rude, ignorant visitors f [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Fantastic!
This is one of the best hotel in Cuba, I was by myself, I feel safe, the food was good, excellent service. The room was super clean! Cannot asked for better, everyone in the hotel had a smile on, you will love it!
Club Kawama: A great deal!
Front desk was very accommodating. Our rooms were very close to everything in the resort. Food could be better, there was a lot and fresh, but it lacked flavour. Rooms were standard, a bit too small, but who goes to Cuba to stay in the room!
Club Kawama: Beautiful Beach But.....
The beach was amazing but, as in what we saw of Varadero very dirty, litter everywhere!! No fault of the beach!! Our room in the 4000 block was just steps away from the sand, hence our room being full of sand, no fault of the very polite cleaning staff. All inclusive does not mean just that at this resort. A full week with absolutely no hot water and sometimes no water at all. We had to pay for a safe and bottled water, and the entertainment was hit and miss if it occurred at all. The disco shou [... read more]
Hotel Bella Costa: Great resort, amazing beach!!
Like many Cuban resorts, Breezes Bella Costa is somewhat dated. They do an excellent job; however, of keeping the place clean and welcoming. Food was better than we expected for Cuba. The a la cartes weren't great, but the buffet and beach grill were good. We had a garden view room in the main hotel part. It was big, clean and had a large patio looking out over the golf course and ocean. The pool area is clean and nice. We travelled with our baby, so it was nice to have the kiddie pool option. Playa Caleta: Comfortable Friendly Environment
This hotel is wonderful! The staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are clean and comfortable. You are within a walk away of downtown Varadero and walking distance to restaurants in area. Pool area, beach and amenities are great. Try having an hour long massage with Jose who is professional and very knowledgable in case of any outstanding athletic injuries. 25 pesos for total relaxation!!! Highly recommend Puterena/Caleta for a relaxing fun filled vacation in a very warm welcoming hotel.
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Resort!
Wonderful location, amazing beach, not too far of a walk to beach and all facilities. Friendly staff, ok food, nice rooms. Would travel here again! The entertainment was great, especially the piano bar! Great singers and shows.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: It was an okay resort
Pros: Very nice landsape and foliage Evening entertainment was really good The beach was nice 24 hour snack bar was convenient The staff are polite and friendly Cons: The beds are terribly uncomfortable The food was okay but we did get sick the last three days with the runs. They don't play anything but spanish music
Melia Peninsula Varadero: awesome resort
We stayed at the Melia Pensulia. We had a wonderful time. It was a first family trip. We took our son for the first time. He so enjoyed every minute of his trip. The resort was very family friendly. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Customer service was really great. We really love cuba. we also enjoyed all the activities that they offered and that was a lot of fun! We would go back for sure!
Grand Memories Varadero: RIU Varadero Adult section
my husband I just spent 10 beautiful day as the RIU. I will say I am glad that we updated to the adult Deluxe Suite from our original booking of a standard room. we were in building 32 facing the pool on ground floor which was amazing you just had to walk out patio. don't think we ever used our front door key. our maid Judy was amazing and Roxanna and staff at the pool ar were great, As for food it was okay. lobster in our International restaurant was great had it three times. we ate most of our [... read more]
Club Karey: third time
same room no problemo. right by the beach. third time. 7 days too short, next time at least 11. good price .............................................................................................................................................................................
Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Our side was great
There was not a lot of Canadians when we arrived, but later in the week more came. Lots of Europeans... The beach club rooms where beautiful. Clean, recently renovated, awesome views, beautiful pool, beach and grounds. The staff was for the most part great! Friendly & helpful! The food was standard Cuban fare...always lots of yummy salads and pastas so that works for me :0)
Club Karey: Very Tired
Hotel is in need of repairs. Beautiful location on the water but rooms are in poor shape. The people do the best with what they have to make your vacation a positive experience. The buffet lacked options, same food served day after day.
Barcelo Solymar: Great location.
Grounds were well tended, people were very friendly; a little more attention to efficiency and time keeping would be welcome. Room in need of repair. Cuisine could be improved upon. Overall it was a great vacation due to the amazing beach.
Grand Memories Varadero: beautiful beach, mediocre resort
the resort was too large for my taste which made the experience very impersonal and the buffet was far from the beach. I knew the resort was going through a change of management so I wasnt surprised. the rooms were mediocre (i stayed at a 3+star which seemed newer and cleaner and bigger). I went to cuba primarily for the beach and predictable beautiful weather and I was not disappointed.
Memories Jibacoa: Friendly resort in tropical intimate setting
This was our third stay at Memories Jibacoa amidst lush tropical palm filled gardens, with the ocean on one side and hills immediately behind the resort. Amazing snorkeling experience on the reefs 20 feet from the water's edge in shallow waters, perfect for novices, and deeper areas by swimming farther out. The pool area is beautiful. The recent change in management has resulted in an improved buffet with a much wider assortment of foods to please any palette. Very friendly and genuine staff thr [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: iberostar daquiri not laguna azul
holiday was really great at the daiquiri and we will be going back probably in December of this year please update your records as we have not been to the laguna Azul for over a year we would however recommend the daiquiri very highly for those people who would enjoy aquietand relaxing vacation
Hotel Los Cactus: Relaxing Vacation
This resort is great if you love golf and relaxing in the sun. It's a more mature resort but always a good time. Food isn't the greatest but that's Cuba. Book your a la carte and stick to the pasta and bread in the buffet and you'll be fine. Been there twice and would go back again
