Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful resort and something for everyone!

The resort is very well kept. Extremely beautiful grounds. The pools are clean and never seem too busy! the staff were so friendly and very helpful. The only issue we had was that we couldn't really get into any of the A la Carte dinner restaurants as they were all booked up. Late time slots (past 9:30pm) were available. Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Great Family Oriented Resort!

Grounds were well kept. Great activities onsite. (Biking, Tennis, Archery, Soccer). Food was very good. Rooms were large. the sofa pullout bed wasn't easy on the back. Great pools and lazy river. Beach was nice with Beach service. We saw turtles while snorkeling offshore! We saw spider monkeys in the trees near our room!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Two thumbs up!

It was our first time to Mexico and we were pleasantly surprized with the resort, the staff, the food and the amenities. Everything exceeded our expectation. I would definitely go back again! Amazing!!

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Had a fantastic time....

The hotel/resort was beautiful, clean, well maintained and the food was fantastic.. However the resort is huge and there is a possibility that you can get stuck in buildings 11 or 12 which is very far from everything and you might not get a balcony or a view.... Tons of wildlife and a must see without having to go to the Excharet park but that is another wonderful experience in itself!!! Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fabulous Vacation!

We recently spent a week at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba. We were a group that consisted of pre-teens, 20-somethings and 40-somethings. An incredible time was had by all. Service and food were amazing. The only downside to anything we had were the lack or dinner reservation availble yet the restaurants appeared to be half empty all the time. We only were able to get 2 of our 4 availble a al cartes. The ones we had (International & Italian) were delicious but the other 9 in our party only manage [... read more]d to get one booking. That was disappointing because we had heard really good things about some of the other restaurants however never got a chance to sample them. The buffett was very good and always fresh. my daughter loves mango and this is not an item we saw on the buffett so she asked; next thing a gentleman shows up with a plate of mango cut up for her. She was delighted! The bartenders did the best they could however there was only ever one bartender working and i think they would have certainly benefitted from having at least two serving in the swim up bars! The only other problem we had was our mini bar wasn't restocked with snacks and drinks consistently, I had to request water (after that I had lots of water but nothing else) and for some reson our faceclothes didnt get replenished with the towels. The beach not great due to a ton of seaweed; employees worked hard and did a fairly good job at collecting and bagging it but was alot of work; you can only fight mother nature so long! we spent a couple hours in the ocean but then made our way back to the pool and waterpark (which the kids loved). Our room overlooked the water park and was located right next to the lobby (building 22) and was a great location. Even though the resort is larger than i prefer I would most definitely recommend this resort especially with children.

Catalonia Yucatan: 3.5 - 4 star resort

The Catalonia Yucatan Resort itself is a beautiful resort, but there are a lot of things that can be done to make your stay a good one to remember! Overall, this resort is not so huge so access to all the pools, bars and the beach is very easy. There are a number of pools both for the ones that want to relax or the ones that want to enjoy water activities with the resort animation team during the day. The food was very good overall at the buffet, as well as the steak house and the tapas a la carte. The standard rooms are very average and nothing luxurious (rusty bathroom doors) and is just good enough for all the necessities one needs for their stay. Although there is a disco running at nights, the nightlife is more relaxed at the resort. The main disappointing part for our stay was that some of the staff at the resort were rude and that was evident right off the bat on our arrival. Upon our arrival, our name was not in the system so the gentleman at the desk told us to wait while they tried to find our name. He then left shortly as his shift was done, and a young unprofessional girl (Carolina) was in charge to deal with the situation. Carolina constantly spoke in Spanish while trying to solve the problem with our Air Transat agent (who was very helpful), and when we asked her to explain the situation in English, her response was "We are in Mexico Sir"! Anyways, it took us 2 hours at the front desk to finally get a room with its balcony under renovation, which we then had to move again to another room the next day as the hotel was overbooked upon our arrival. At another incident, the staff would simply not serve us ice cream on a patio on a hot day for not having a shirt on with absolutely no one around. Are you serious??? I can't enjoy an ice cream by the beach, on a hot day, with nobody around, for 10 minutes, because I'm not wearing a t-shirt??? Give me a break, that's why I'm there in the first place!!! Overall, the resort is beautiful, food is very nice, rooms are average, beach is sandy/rocky, pools are nice to hang out by, but the staff should be better trained to deal with tourists in a much better way. Comparing this trip to my previous destinations in Punta Cana, Varadero, and other resorts in Cancun, there are definitely other options to spend your money on!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great Hotel BUT Read my Review

Excellent Hotel, Excellent food but there is two things that I did not like. One is to wait from 10AM to 3pm to get my room. The other thing is that I was pushed to attend a 3 hours meeting to market Royalton Hotels, which I said before I attend it , that I am not interested if it is for Time sharing and guess what it was for time sharing but in a different way. DO NOT ATTEND THESE MEETING. IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME GUYS.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Relaxing Stay!

Our stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum was terrific! The food was overall some of the best I have experienced on a resort and there was always entertainment available. By having a room in a more private area of the resort we were able to enjoy our peace and quiet, but also go and join into the fun of the larger common areas. The only negative was the distance away from the airport, but the drive was worth the wait.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Beautiful landscaping

This adult only resort is peaceful and beautifully landscaped. The developers have chosen to retain some of original jungle greeney which has been enhanced with colorful flora. The pools are pristine and well maintained on a daily basis. You can easily walk in the white sand for quite a distance. Barbara teaches yoga and pilates and yoga each morning except Sunday. She is an excellent teacher who provides great instruction and who ensures that her students listen to their bodies and modify pose [... read more]s as needed. The food is excellent. The buffet is available for breakfast and lunch, but not at supper. This was a bit of a challenge for my husband. We found that Mar et Tierra and Il Olivio had food choices which met his needs at suppertime. The staff at the Italian restaurant was extremely accomodating and modified dishes to meet my husband's needs. I must forewarn you, however, that every time you get up from the table during your meal, the waiters will refold your napkin! The service everywhere was great and the people were friendly. The rooms were well appointed and met all our needs. I would note that the Deluxe Junior Suite was a much smaller room than those we had elsewhere in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Cuba. It was well arranged to maximize the use of space. Given that we spent most of time on the beach or at the nightly entertainment, the size of the room did not inconvenience us at all. I would highly recommend this resort and fully intend to return in the future!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: 6th Visit and we will be back

We love this hotel. The service is always excellent. The food is great. The grounds are always immaculate. This year was the first time in 6 years that there was an accumulation of seaweed on the beach. There was a grand effort to clean it up by a huge amount of workers and they did a fantastic job. It didn't bother us as we just walked over it and went in the water. Although some people may find the sandbags in the water unsightly, they are necessary to keep the beach from further erosion. If y [... read more]ou go past the sandbags, it is great fun jumping the waves! Closer to shore the water is very calm so you can just lay there and watch all the activities on the beach. Changing the Akumal resort to a luxery resort did not have any effect on our stay. There was always lots going on at Coba and Tulum at night. Another fabulous time at Bahia Principe. Can't wait to go back!!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort

Everything that we expected and more! From the rooms to the Beach it was excellent! Food was tasty lots of variety at the buffet! The grounds were always being looked after, from glasses/cups to garbage colection, I was impressed how many people work at this Resort! The rooms where always cleaned and we never ran out of towels. I recomend this Resort hands down!

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Paradise!

I have high expectations of a five star and hope I get what I pay for. This resort gets a 10 on everything. It was paradise. Resort layout amazing, limited walking, everything nice and close without it feeling small. Golf great! Ocean front rooms, breathtaking, just steps away from a spectacular beach. The rooms were cleaned within a couple of hours of leaving it in the morning. Food, fabulous. I cannot say enough about every employee we encountered. They were engaging, informative, forward thi [... read more]nking and almost all spoke English. Most of the employees had a College certificate in Tourism, which is apparently a prerequisite to work there. The towel girl noticed that my mother had difficulty walking in the sand to the beach chairs. The next day the towels were waiting for us on the chairs closest to the walk way. Thanks Yuri! I got a cold towards the end of our vacation and the beach butler/bartender "Luis" made me a hot toddy with lemon and honey. I did not ask for it, he just handed it to me. They are really able to get to know you as it is a very intimate setting. I could go on and on but I think you get it. This place is the epitome of perfection. We will be returning next year.

The Fabulous well layed out resort. The best resort we have been to in the past 4 years The restaurant food was excellent as was the service by all staff maids, barmen, waiters & gardiners - they could *nt do enough for us--

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Very nice - outstanding value

Stayed at the Blue Bay Mar 21 to 31 2015. Third time there. It's certainly not a five star, but for the cost it stellar. Two most favourable things are the excellent staff who ALWAYS go the extra mile and the food. Really great! It's a big resort so lots of walking, but for us that's perfect after one of the great a la cart dinners. Lastly, the fitness facility is the best I've seen at a resort, and honestly, that's a huge benefit.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Excellent family vacation

Resort is very large and spread out. Trams run every 5 minutes taking you from your room to lobby area, shopping areas and Coba resort. Not one complaint from our group of 16 about the food or drinks. At at 3 a la carte restaurants (our favorite was La Gran Tortuga- best beef I've ever eaten in the Caribbean). Mini fridge filled every day with beer, water and pop. No problem getting loungers under the Palapas at 8 or 9 a.m. at the Coba beach area. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Bahia Principe Tulum

What a great resort this is. Very large, clean and friendly. Not much to complain about other than the beach is not the greatest, lots of coral. The pools are clean and always lots of entertainment every day. Entertainment staff work very hard to keep everyone entertained. Shows at night were OK, same at most resorts. Food was EXCELLENT. The rooms were clean and always cleaned in a timely fashion. Grounds were beautiful. The ride from the airport was between 2 2-1/2 hrs but went quickly. Would d [... read more]efinitely go back here again. You can never go wrong choosing a Bahia Principe property down south. We have been 4 times and were never disappointed at any of them. If you look on the map and choose a specific area where you would like to have your room, never hurts to send off a nice email a week or two before your departure date. I have always done this and almost always end up with an ocean view(If available) and often get a few extras in the room like champagne and fruit baskets. They really aim to please at these properties. We had a few little hiccups during the week we were here like the toilet running and the safe not working properly but with a call to the service desk they were quickly fixed. It is a very large resort and you have to expect that things will break but it certainly is not going to ruin your vacation.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Budget resort ....

Food was good, lots choices, resort too big and spread out, have to take the little train everywhere, overall it def needs renovations and upgrades , not comparable to other 5 star resorts, our first room the bed smelled like urine and the bathroom like mold , we had to switch rooms, major party crowd and very loud , not relaxing at all, staff was nice and helpfull though!

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: beautiful resort

The people were fantastic, food was good, loved the taco/pizza place. Kept very clean. Only complaint would be had to ask all the time for water and beer to be added to our fridge. They only put two in a day but when asked had no problem doing it for you. Wild life was cool.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing & Relaxing Resort!

This resort is the perfect place if you want a relaxing vacation! Rooms were clean & comfortable, the resort is smaller than most in the area so you don't have to fight for a chair or space on the beach, the food was very good & the ala carte resteraunts didn't require reservations 2-3 days in advance like alot of resorts. The beach was wonderful - soft sand and GREAT snorkeling right at the resort.....saw alot of huge turtles, fish & stingrays. Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: beautiful, wonderful resort.

The resort was spotless. Grounds are well kept, my room was large and beautiful. Had everything I needed. Plus , as an added bonus there is concierge in your building all day to answer all of your questions, book your a la carte meals.
