Nice rooms, very friendly staff.. We have travelled all over the Caribbean and been to 6 sandals.. Only resort we have been to twice.. Love the food, the lazy river pool and very quiet.. Love that adult only, great gym and comfortable beds

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great Resort

We quite enjoyed the resort. The ocean water was really stirred up and was always dirty looking. You could go in it but not as nice as other places we have been but the beach and pools were great with lots of seating available. Food was really good also.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Excellent resort

Excellent resort worth the trip met some great people . Rene at the pool bar great server restraints and buffet are all good only thing the resort is missing is a good place to swim in the gulf it's all to rocky in front of the resort but all the pools are great especially the swim up suites

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Our third time there-returning again next year!

This hotel is the best on the Mayan Riviera. Everything is exceptional, from the staff to the amenities. You have to try the Maiko and Alux a la cartes; nothing can compare. We have never had less than a wonderful experience there.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort

Beautiful resort and well maintained. The food was fantastic at all restaurants except I wasn't a fan of the Brazilian because of the food and service. The beaches were great, we had sea weed get washed in on the first few days but that is a natural occurring event not the resorts fault. Overall I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in great food drinks beaches and service with a beautiful ocean to look at.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Our first all inclusive trip

We arrived early and could not check in and were not informed of lockers that we could use to put our carry on luggage and personal items so that we could relax. It would be nice to get sample packets of sunscreen at check in. Was never informed at the desk of the room safe key and lock. Safes should be included in cost of room. Free wireless internet should be available 24/7 in all rooms, not just the lobby (this is the best way to communicate with family at home). There are not enough palapas  [... read more]and loungers around the pool area. This led to fights amongst some guests that made us feel uncomfortable. You have a rule in place about reserving and never enforce your rule. There should also be regular chairs available. The mini fridge in the room was never stocked consistently. Some days they left a chocolate bar and chips and some days they didn't and when they did leave them, it was never for two. Drinks from the pool bar always seemed very weak. Reservations for a la carte's should be done at the restaurant and not Public relations in the lobby. We wasted 2 hours and only got 2 reservations when we were entitled to 3 per week. We never bothered to go back because of the time wasted. It would be nicer for the shows to start a bit later in the evening in order to not have to rush dinner. Automatic light timers in the pool bathrooms need to remain on longer. On several occasions my wife ended up on the toilet in the dark. For the first two days our floors were filthy. Black would run off our feet in the shower first thing in the morning even though we had showered before bed. Towel, face cloth and bath mat quantities were never consistent. Some days face cloths and bath mat were never left. Soap dish was only cleaned a couple of times in two weeks. Drinking glasses in bathroom were not cleaned regularly. We did however, really enjoy our stay. Some of these suggestions could make it better for future guests.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Poor beach, poor food and not what I expected

Very poor beach and poor food. No coast line for walking. This is basically a snorkelling location. And then there is only about 3 areas to enter the water. Lots of deep fried food. In Cuba I am used to fresh fish and chicken at the beach bars BBQ's. One day had a seafood rice dish by beach which is the best food I saw all week. Everyone raved about Japanese restaurant. I didn't find it good at all. Very hot inside and salmon sashimi is smoked salmon. Service for drinks was poor. Very uncomforta [... read more]ble seating at beach bar and lobby bars. Be careful you don't fall over on the stools. Complimentary room service is poor. Caesar salad came with 3 leaves of romaine and a piece of chicken the size of a nickel. I ordered a second and a club and burger. Clubs are definitely a Mexican club. Weather was hot and very disappointing you couldn't really enjoy a beautiful ocean. I paid over $400 more than I would have if I had have gone to Cuba however I went for a wedding and had no choice.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Attention to detail.

We stayed here from April 8th to the 15th. A stunning resort, outstanding quality, extremely friendly staff and top quality food and alcohol. What more can we say. When you can have grilled lobster and filet mignon for lunch, you are in heaven.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort!

We travelled as a couple and stayed in the Royal Golden section. This resort is beautiful, the staff are simply amazing and hard working! We had a very relaxing vacation. There is something for everyone. The food was also very good.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Wonderful choice!

The hotel was clean, staff happy to accommodate, great food and lots to do. We had two energetic tween boys with us and incredibly they never got bored. During our stay there was a large group of spring break seniors, families with small children, and plenty of retirees enjoying their peace and quiet. Amazingly the resort is large enough to give each age group the space to fully enjoy the reason they came. No regrets choosing this resort.

Grand Palladium Colonial: A great time for my husband, myself and our 2 kids

Our stay was fantastic. The resort was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful. My kids (15months and 6yrs old) both loved the kids water park and spent their entire time going from the ice cream bar to the water slides. The adult pool was nice and warm and there was always music going and activities to do during the day. Night time was great as well, my kids just loved hanging out in the lobby and dancing to the music. Food was good, a la cartes being way better than the buffet, but that' [... read more]s expected. We went in mid April and never waited more than 5-10 minutes to be seated at A La Carte restaurants. The kids daycare was ok. My youngest son didn't want to be dropped off but staff were good with him when we did drop him off. The radio they provide us put us at ease since they could instantly let us know if something was wrong. Overall a fantastic experience. Rooms are a bit noisy if there's a party group in your suite area but can't blame ppl for having a good time. the wildlife is also amazing and fun to see the kids enjoy it. Can't wait to go back! (Be ready to walk a lot since the resort is very big)

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

My family just got back from this resort ( two kids) and we had s great time. All in all it met my expectations with the exception of a few. The a la carte restaurants were basically all reserved, even though we went the first day to book them. We managed to get our three booked but they were all together at the end of our trip, they were not the restaurants that were our top picks and not the times that we wanted. Basically we were told that they have more people than seatings for the a la cart [... read more]e restaurants. The kids waterpark is great for travelling with young children, because of this there was a ton of families there! Beach access is from the other resort, so you don't have immediate access to the beach! It's about a 5 minute train ride. Having access to the other resorts is a huge plus.

Akumal Beach Resort: The Resort Where the Staff Say No!

We are just getting back into vacations. My husband and I booked a Trip threw Trip Central last April! We went to a five star resort Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, Cabo San Lucas. We had a wonderful experience and had acces to all restaurants, bermuda shorts and sandals were acceptable. It never occurred to me that there would be mandatory dress code of a shirt with collar, long pants and covered shoes! At Akumal Beach we had no access to Restaurants on this property. Leaving us at the mercy of the poo [... read more]l side snack bar and the buffet style restaurant for the next seven days. If we tried to leave the buffet restaurant with desserts to take back to our room after dinner, our door lady Aracely would say No and radio for her floor manager for assistance. We said to him that we were in our mid fifties and we are not irresponsible children, but it was a firm No, by him. At Pueblo Bonito there was never an issue to leave with some dessert. After all there are coffee machines in the room, which we love a cup of tea in the evening with dessert. As we had walked into the small town to purchase real milk at the OXO mart, the resort served evaporated milk and we are not used to that flavour in our tea and coffee. A simple cup of ice cream could not be eaten ten feet away from the entrance of the buffet without once again being approached by the hostess Aracely informing us that ice cream was to be eaten only in the buffet which was around 85 degrees, denying us the ability to enjoy not only the desert, but the wonderful offshore breeze. A moment among many, missed at this Resort.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great Vacation!

Had an amazing time at this resort. We are big into checking into other reviews before booking and this won our vote. We spent a week in the Sandos Select Club Adult Only area. We absolutely loved the extras we got including access to the premium club bars, the adult only section of rooms, adult only pool and an exclusive breakfast buffet. I would definitely upgrade to this again. As we had read in a few reviews before booking this area was furthest from the beach and quite a walk but that didnt [... read more] bother us at all. If you mind the walking(we didnt we actually enjoyed the daily strolls) they had golf carts that ran frequently. We jumped on a couple times during our stay for a quick tour and never waited more than 5 min to catch one. The food was fabulous, the steakhouse was amazing- we enjoyed it so much we returned a second night. Drinks were great and for the most part service was incredible. Find Jose at the Premium Club bar located in the main lobby- he was fantastic! By far the best bar tender we have encounter in numerous years of travel to different all inclusives throughout the Caribbean- he went above and beyond. The only downfall we encountered at the resort was the lack of consistency between bars. Many of the bartenders didn't have good English and you didn't always get what you requested and sometimes weren't sure exactly what you did get served. We found ourselves avoiding the bars around the main pool and the one located in the plaza and ducking into the premium club bars even if we had to walk by another bar to get there. However, in my opinion if that's the only negative to come up with - its still a great vacation! Grounds were well maintained and the rooms were fabulous. I believe our section of the resort had been recently renovated and it showed like a new resort! We also visited the spa for a couple of services and were very very pleased. The massages were very well priced and far superior to those you receive around home. They made it a real experience. And the pool located within the spa was a great way to unwind! The area, Playacar, in which the resort is located was fabulous as well. We walked it, and walked to the little strip wall area. We also travelled to 5th Ave in playa Del Carmen, only about a 35 minute walk from the resort. All in all- I would definitely recommend.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Beautiful spot

The hotel was amazing ans staff were outstanding! The walk through the jungle scene to get to our rooms and beach cannot be beat. My only issue was the annoying vendors who set up every other night and the food at the Spanish Restaurant was loaded with salt.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great Resort

As a family of 4 (2 kids under 7) we found the Royalton to be a great spot. The pools and restaurant options were great and the staff were friendly with the kids. The kids pool did have a problem with the small tiles coming off, but it did not affect our stay. We did see some people have cuts on their feet.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great quality and value resort

Grand Bahia Principe Coba is a great quality and value resort for the whole family or on your own. The staff is friendly and professional and will go out of its way to help. The best area to relax while enjoying a nice cocktail at the end of the afternoon is located just outside the hotel at the back, close to the main entrance of the buffet restaurant. It is surrounded by palm trees where you can see colorful birds. The best section of the beach is located at the Akumal Hotel. However, you can  [... read more]no longer use their facilities. Make sure to take a walk along the beach and catch the dolphins show close to the Tulum Hotel. The biggest pool is at the Coba, but there are more pools to choose from on the resort. The one at the Tulum Hotel is one of my favorite. Excursions are available, but you can opt to stay at the resort and walk the grounds. You will see exotic animals, flowers and trees while feeling the amazing sea breeze on your skin. You will go back home energized, happy, and dreaming about your next get away.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort.

This was our second time at this resort. The first in 2011. We liked this resort so much then that we decided to go back again. The grounds are beautiful, well kept and mowed. The person who looked after our room did a great job, always lots of towels and bottled water, although I think that the lamp shades should be replaced. They were stained and looked dirty. The fridge was always well stocked. Loved the lobby, nice and big and the bathrooms were always clean and fresh smelling. The one compl [... read more]aint that I did have was the buffet. Always lots to choose from, but we found that the food was just lukewarm, never very hot as compared to when we were there in 2011. We did go to one a la carte, the Japanese restaurant, and found the food there very good and Luis did an excellent job serving us. The pool area was great and the people working at the bar were great. I didn't have any kids with me, so cannot comment on the children's area, but they all seemed to be having a good time. Always lots of trolleys to take you wherever you wanted to go, never a long waiting period. We booked this trip back in August or September of 2014 and requested Building 31 but were put in Building 12. I feel that booking 6 months in advance they should have been able to meet out needs. All in all the resort was good.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Incredible Service!! Amazing Resort :)

We cannot say enough positive things about the Gran Porto Real Hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Above-average service, beautiful surroundings, lots to do, tasty/cultural food, nice dining options, very clean!!
