Melia Puerto Vallarta: Incredible Resort! Great Location & Has Everything You Need

It was our first time at Melia and it is a wonderful resort. The location is perfect, you are about half way between downtown PV (to the south) and Bucerias / Punta Mita / Sayulita (to the north). It's ocean front is perfect, and just behind it you have the bustling Marina. The food was great, Especially at the restaurants you have to make reservations for. Canto Del Sol: Great resort

An excellent resort, very clean, sparkling clean pools, Friendly and outgoing staff The four restaurants served fine meals with friendly staff. The beach was always clean. Only problem was the rough sea and undertow. Lots of entertainment around the main pool with music and games every day. Maintenance people kept everything neat and tidy. Nightly entertainment was generally very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our 14 day vacation.

Hyatt Vivid Cancun: Five blissful nights in heaven

Honestly, I had an amazing stay at Dreams Vista Cancun. While there was a huge snowstorm sweeping through Southern Ontario, I was on the beach in Mexico, sipping pina coladas, and for this alone, I have to give this resort a 5/5 rating. Food - I'd say it's on the above average side. Your food experience heavily depends on how much initiative you're willing to take on this trip. If you can be bothered to take 1 minute in the morning to reserve one of the specialty restaurants on their app, th [... read more]en you'll have a great time. If you rely on walking up to the restaurants during peak dining times, then you're going to end up eating at the buffet or having room service. As for the food quality, the specialty restaurants are a small step above what you'd typically get at a nice sit-down Toronto restaurant. My sister is a foodie, and she was happy with what she ate. The buffet is a different story. Their buffet does offer a variety of continental and Mexican food, but it's not as tasty since it's not fresh. The meat gets tough, bacon gets hard, and there's not much you can do about it. The saving grace for the buffet is their made-to-order stations that whip up burgers, eggs, and smoothies. That's always a good choice if you're stuck at the buffet. Drinks - I don't drink, but my sister does. There were several times when she noted how strong her drinks were. Service - Amazing. Everyone we met was super kind and non-solicitous of tips. I had an issue booking the restaurant through the app, and an employee was not only able to book our reservations for the night, but also fix the issue. 10/10. No notes. Beach/pool - Beach is tiny, but it's still a beach! It is well maintained. Yeah, there is seaweed, but a team clears it every day. The sand quality is good, but not as great as Cuban beaches. The main pool is meticulously maintained. On the last day when I was checking out, I saw 2 guys in googles scouring the entire length of the pool. I hope they are paid well, because they did an amazing job. I don't think I've ever swam in such a clean pool in my life. There was also a jacuzzi, it was nice when the weather was in the low 20's, but it's not super warm. Rooms - Extremely clean. For a climate that is muggy and humid, I didn't detect a hint of mould in the washroom or on the linens. The decor is modern except the room phone. The balcony view is to die for, but doesn't face the sunset, but if you're an early bird, you can catch the sunset. The noise level is very good. There's no obnoxious music playing on the premise or surrounding resorts at night, A/C is whisper-quiet. We were woken up by other guests in the middle of the night, but that only happened once during our stay. Word of warning - after check in, you will be asked if you want to participate in a 90-minute sales presentation to check out Hyatt's other products. You'll be asked to purchase multi-decade travel packages costing around 20-40k or ~$300-500/ month. They lure you in with a coupons AND a voucher for 2 nights 3 days at the resort, which you'd assume is free, but it's NOT. It's merely a voucher for a DISCOUNT on a 2n3d stay. You actually have to pay 300 USD for the stay. The sales presentation is NOT 90-minutes, it's 3 hours out of your vacation. Initially, they'll pair you with a point of contact. They're very cordial and ask about your vacation habits, then you'll meet their manager, who is equally nice, but if you decline their offer, they'll send in a sales agent who is extremely aggressive. Just decline 3 times. Do not engage with the questions. Finally, they'll hit you with a final deal, which is another vacation similar to the one you've already paid for, then they finally let you leave. For most people, this experience will NOT be worth it and extremely unpleasant. I strongly recommend you decline participating in this sales presentation. Overall, I had an amazing and relaxing stay, barring the unpleasant sales experience, which you can easily decline. I wasn't part of the preferred club, and I still had an amazing time. As I'm writing this review with a driveway full of snow and a yellow warning for freezing temperatures, I'm getting nostalgic for Mexico!!

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: 3rd time to the Catalonia

Once again, the Catalonia did not disappoint. Firstly, the staff is #1. friendly and helpful, the cleaning staff does an impeccable job with very high standards. The buffet, ala cart, coffee shop are all excellent. Yoga in the morning on the terrace, another added bonus! Flying from Hamilton was a cakewalk.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Barcelo Colonial charming family resort

Amazing grounds, we've been to over 10 other resorts and this one scores high with its architecture and natural beauty. We loved it. Most rooms cater to families: 2 queen beds + sofa. We couldn't find a room with a king bed and neither could our friends. The beach is beautiful, wide, clean, white sand, and has lots of palm trees. There was a bit of a shortage of beach chairs as the resort was full, especially on Saturday. Water shoes are needed as there are rocks in the water. Food was excellent [... read more]. Plenty of entertainment venues to chose from as we also had access to adjacent resorts. All in all great value for the price.

NYX Hotel Cancun: Nice resort

The resort was nice- the beach and pool were good and the location was great too (close to the La Isla mall). The food was okay (I wish there was better dinner options but you can go off resort to a nice taco restaurant). Front staff could have been better- never received a tour of the hotel.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Improvements needed

Let's start with the positive. Entertainment was great. Shows were good, pool activities were awesome for all of the kiddos. The service was okay. The room bar and the maid service was decent. Leaving a tip would guarantee a fill of supplies. The iguanas, lizards and Mexican racoons are cool to see on site. Cons:There was a wait for almost every restaurant. Most of the food at the buffet was cold (There are toasters to reheat). The pools weren't regularly maintained. I.e. poop in one pool and l [... read more]eaves for half a day in the other. There is no beach, one side is gated off and the other is a little hump of sand. The ocean water was so clustered with seaweed and coral you couldn't see the bottom to walk in it. Building 5 has septic issues. If you can steer clear of that you will avoid septic smell.

Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit: Unique Resort

Grounds are well kept and an interesting layout. The golf cart to the top of the hill was great. Our room was lovely, and the bed super comfy. The many interesting pools scattered throughout the property were fun to explore and try out. We mastered calling to reserve a spot on the shuttle to get down to the beach. The beach club was lovely with attentive staff. Overall the food was ok, but nothing special....with the exception of the very cool "food truck" with delicious quesedillas in [... read more] the afternoon. Wish there was more entertainment as well.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Disappointed ☹️

This was our second time to this resort. We returned because our first trip here in 2022 was amazing. However things have gone terribly downhill. First our bed was so uncomfortable, and our pillows were horrendous! We ended putting our pillow cases on the decorative pillows and using them. The food was also not good! Which blows my mind as dreams hotels are usually stellar, but I this is the first stay at one since Hyatt took over. The swimming area was also disappointing, the sand has washed out of the manmade area and it is now shallow and sharp rock bottomed. I love spending time in the water - not here.

Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres All Suite Resort: Wonderful vacation

we thought the staff was exceptional, food was amazing, grounds were beautiful but are in need of the final touches which in a short time will be done! Majestic knows what they are doing and they do it well.

Good resort for our needs everything close pool area near, a la cartes and buffet close by great for elderly people food good ,entertainment good ,sport bar and lobby bar good service excellent cleanliness top notch .sport bar morning server pool bar server Michelle,Alex ,lobby bar Dany she was on speed dial awesome, also entertainment team Katy and others were great.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Excellent Resort for families with young children.

Check in and check out process absolutely atrocious. Not enough staff to handle the amount of people. Rooms were only adequate with no hot water. Food was very good in the buffet. Forget about À la cart unless you stay up till 12pm to try and book for the next day. This resort is not for seniors unless you have your grandchildren with you,a tremendous amount of walking involved. This was our second visit. We do not usually visit a resort twice, but our first visit last year was so wonderful, we couldn’t wait to return! Riu Flamingos: A wonderful resort

The remodelling is great. The rooms are amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Just be careful around the pools they are very slippery to walk around. we saw many people slip and fall around them. We had a wonderful time there and the sunsets are amazing.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great family section

We loved family section although it was just my husband and I, we were able to use the entire resort, great restaurants, coffee shop, lounges and pools, will certainly return. We were there 14 days Service was great, carts were always available to get to one section to another

Grand Oasis Riviera: Amazing resort!

Awesome resort! We had a fantastic time at this resort! From the minute we arrived until we left, we were treated with much regard, kindness and helpfulness by all the staff there. Shout out to Evelyn (I'm bad with names, but I'm pretty sure that's her name) at the reception desk - so helpful and pleasant, as were all of the reception staff! Shout out to Victor and to Rose at the restaurant reception desk. No reservations required for these restaurants and very little to no wait times to get in the a la carte. The buffet was also very good morning, noon and night. Don't forget to tip these amazing hard working people. The beach was beautiful every day - the last 2 days lots of seaweed came in - it was too overwhelming for the maintenance staff to deal with. The public washrooms were always clean - which I am sure is quite the fear given the amount of people in and out of them all day! We loved our room - so spacious and roomy! The swim up pool at the foot of our patio was the icing on the cake! Will return next year❤️❤️

Secrets The Vine Cancun: True 5 Star

We are experienced travellers that travel for two weeks each month from November to March. We have stayed at many of five star rated resort resorts. Secrets the vine is a true five star. From the welcome reception to well appointed rooms. From the gorgeous pools, restaurants and wait staff everything was perfection. The pools were great. Lots of room, Adult pool was always free of kids. Family pool was large and well used. They had some water aerobics which were fun and the instructors were great. The sand was probably one of the best beaches we have been to. There was always a shortage of lounge chairs and you had to get up early (5:30) to save yourself a spot. The meals were great, the buffet had a great variety and while the layout was odd (2 regions with different foods on each) things worked, except for those people that refused to go clockwise or For those that cut in line. Richard called one guy out, “you must be American, because a Canadian wouldn’t do that.” The fancy restaurants were great but we couldn’t access the ‘app’ to reserve them, only Richard could because he had a black wrist band and just went to a special concierge to book them. Without Richard we would not have been able to eat in them. The coffee bar was fantastic and the baristas were very skilled and pleasant. The staff were very professional and friendly. Our room was okay. But we booked a kingsize bed and got 2 doubles instead. We made it work.The shampoo, body wash and body lotion were very cheap and produced no lather. The body lotion smelled like sour milk. Also, we requested a “garden view” but got a tree view. Initially we thought it was a good location, 4225, just down from the lobby, but we found out that on several evenings there was “entertainment’ right out front of our room. Bad karyoke very loud, is not good. Also there was an elevator right beside our room and this would not have been a problem except there was a roof top bar and all night drunks were going up and down and had to party loudly at our door every 10 minutes.There really was no evening entertainment, The internet was very poor. Kept kicking us out. No place in the evening to just sit and have a drink and visit, The lobby bar had about 8 chairs used for the Sunwing staff to book excursions, but in the evening some pulled them together, the rooftop bar had fewer, but had 2 kingsize beds??. A second floor bar had a pool table and about 10 chairs. Remember this place has hundreds of guests. Overall, I would say it was an okay experience but I don’t think I would recommend it to anyone over 30 and unlikely we will be going back.
