Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Beautiful Resort

This resort is very well kept and all common areas are very visually appealing. The rooms are fairly well appointed although not enough outlets to charge all devices. The a la Carte dining experiences were enjoyable but the buffet needs a serious upgrade. The fruit was not appealing. Hot foods were not kept hot enough. I used the on-site microwave several times to warm up my plate of food. The noise level (if your room faces the pool area) was constantly irritating. The family side (even with the kids) was much more peaceful.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beautiful Resort and Grounds

This resort is large so the pool and beach bars a pre-made slushie style coladas and daiquiri, so don't expect fresh fruit there. The lobby bar has better quality drinks. Buffets were plentiful and satisfactory. Our superior oceanview jr suite room was pretty standard with a beautiful view. The resort (Dec 2023) is in the process of updating their rooms (USB ports, etc) Just over an hour drive from the Montego Bay airport. Different beaches spread out across the the resort. Kids Waterp [... read more]ark, they loved and nice its location on one of the beaches and had a bar for refreshments for young and old. Nothing within walking distance outside of the resort to explore.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: I love everything!

Great and friendly staff, good food and drinks, fun entertainment. Rooms look pretty old however we didn't spend time there. Matress is comfortable. Territory is very beatiful and good maintained. You can walk along the beach far enough. I would spend more time, it was very sad to leave.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort!!

The grounds and rooms were very clean with so many amenities and activities! The food was delicious with so much variety! The staff is welcoming and very attentive. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

Excellent resort with great views, good food, and entertainment at the best price found by the best agent Jairus Maus. I would definitely recommend this resort to others and I would definitely come back again.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing Resort and Trip

This trip was amazing from start to finish. The hotel staff was so accomodating and made everything so easy, from the quick check in to the never ending selection of food. This Hotel and the staff made this experience amazing.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Fantastic Resort

The grounds were clean and green spaces well maintained. The pools were clean and varied. Food was abundant and varied. The swim up bars were a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. There were many ramps for walkers and wheelchairs to access the different areas.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Nice resort

Great resort, fantastic beach,very friendly people and nice entertainment.The only negative thing was the maid service- did not replace spare toilet paper,not enough towels,fridge not restocked with water.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: It was okay

The amenities were 10/10 but the service was better at many other tropical/Caribbean places I’ve stayed. I’m not sure exactly why we had this experience since it was so highly rated but we were often ignored by hotel staff and they seemed like they didn’t want to be there.

prompt attention - we has issues and it was taken care of right away with great attention for us. Ms Maria Green , manager at the reception desk ajd her crew - amazing and very friendly. Mr Basilio and Andres at the buffet - always pleasant and friendly with amazing smiles

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Getting worse every year

We are returning visitors since 2019. This hotel is getting worse every year as I’ve heard also from other people. No dry towels after rain, no bell boys to help with luggage, no one told us we can check in online in the bus so we had to wait an hour with small children to be checked in, food is not good anymore, no hot water to make tea, coffee machines always broken, no entertainment for children and no one cares about your requests. We won’t be going to Dominican anymore.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Another Amazing trip!

This is my 3rd time at the resort. Fell in love with the resort and staff all over! We stayed in the Penthouse suite. Food was good, the only bad comment is that is has super hard to get reservations at the Alacartes because of resorts being full.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great time at this resort !

My family and I had a wonderful time at this resort. We had a toddler and grandparents with us and everyone’s needs were met. The water park for kids was fantastic, our daughter had a ton of fun. The beach was full of chairs and wonderful to take a long walk on. The food was great with tons of variety, and always plenty of it. Staff was friendly and accommodating and rooms were comfy. We would definitely bring our family back to this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Looking tired…

Resort tired looking especially the rooms, needs renovating. Pool area looking good as is the Foyer. Food over all not the greatest, especially the Steak House. Buffet was probably the best food. Customer service not as good as it was 4/5 years ago.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Not A Luxury Resort

Definitely not a five star, room was small and musty, bed was extremely hard. We asked for mattress topper 6 times and didn’t get one until our seventh night on our 10 day trip. Shows have been replaced with pay to watch shows, liquor is value brand and top shelf for privileged guests only. This was our 2nd time there, first time was great but seams they are worried more about costs than the quality of food, service and rooms. We won’t be back a 3rd time.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful resort, some policies not so good

Beautiful resort, grounds were beautiful and well kept. We didn’t get an updated room but our friends got upgraded to one with a swim up pool, they were gorgeous. Buffets were good, the 2 a la Cartes we got were delicious. The staff and entertainment at all resorts were great. Highly recommend the silent disco! The beach at Akumal was enjoyable, although if you’re looking for sandy beaches, this isn’t the one to choose. Take note, although only an hour from Cancun airport, add in all the drop of [... read more]fs along the way, our commute one way was almost 3 hours! When we booked, we were under the assumption we were in Adults only but we weren’t; might have been our mistake, maybe we should have requested it the AO block? Our agent Candice (who was great!) requested a few things: honeymoon, king bed, close to beach and pools. When we checked in they gave us double beds so we asked for king. We ended up at the very back of the resort, furthest from everything. Not a huge deal, just not sure why we have requests if it’s not an option. I thought maybe we’d get a congratulations basket or a bottle or champagne or something for our honeymoon. We saw banners at other rooms celebrating birthdays, anniversaries etc. I guess it depends on who at the resort deals with your agent. Biggest disappointment was the a la Cartes. We found out a few days before we left that we had to book dinners 10 days in advance on their app. We were only able to get 2 online. When we arrived, we tried to book more and they were completely full. We were advised to show up and hope for no-shows. We did this twice at two different restaurants and although tables were empty, we were told we could get a table if we paid $480 pesos (or more) for wine. We denied that, our package should’ve included 7 dinners and we only got 2, why would we pay more? So that’s disappointing. We are lucky we found the Facebook group, if we didn’t, we would’ve arrived to all A la Cartes fully booked. So fyi, if you don’t book the dinners in advance you’ll be eating buffets every day which is not what we’re paying for. A little disappointing since this was our honeymoon. For a ‘Luxury’ resort, it wasn’t very luxury. We honestly would’ve received the same services, food, experiences paying significantly less a person at a different resort in Mexico. Overall, we had a great time and didn’t let the hiccups upset our vacation.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Below expectations

I typically vacation in Cuba, but thought I would give the DR a chance. Check in was slow. We kept getting moved to new lines then ignored. We finally got to our room, and it wasn't cleaned from the last guests. We found some of their clothes still in the drawers. When the ceiling was leaking water, we called maintenance and they never came. Not enough loungers at the beach. Had to be there before 8am to get a spot. The pools were great. The liquor options were not much better than in Cub [... read more]a. Food in buffet was good. Enough variety and quantity. The resort is massive. Their maps aren't updated. They keep moving the a la cartes. I wouldn't go back, but it didn't stop me from having fun.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing beach

Stayed at Bahia principe El Portillo for two weeks. We had a wonderful time The food was good and so was the service Beautiful beaches!! The rooms are dated and need to be renovated. Premium alcohol is extra charge not included. Overall we had a good time and will probably re visit in the future

We loved that it was Adjlts only. Clean resort. Lots of Al a carte restaurants. They were good and ok. The restaurants were beautiful but the food didn’t coincide Some people really liked the food but it was ok for us. Service was great. Rooms were very clean but dated. They could have used more staff serving around the pool as we always had to get our own drinks at the bar. The bathrooms at the pool only had two stalls in the ladies room for tons of people.
