Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Resort

This resort was beautiful, a lot bigger than I was expecting, grounds was well maintained, Rooms were clean and adequately sized , however the beds could use a bit of upgrading in the comfort department. Grounds very scenic, & extremely spacious. Beach front was great lots of real estate to lounge on. The condo hotel concept I found to be unique. For somewhere to relax, unwind, quiet & peaceful it’s a 10. For an all inclusive I’d say they delivered. 24 hour bar & 24 hour snack restaurant - breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Yes we are going again this time for a longer stay. Word of advice-Get the all inclusive, book all excursion B4 U arrive, otherwise, it will cost U more, because they seriously over inflate there $ by almost 37%. If U don't need to spend Dont. Tip in your own currency Don't convert otherwise U lose.

Ocean Maya Royale: Nice Resort

The hotel was very nice. Food was good...enough variety for everyone. Disappointed when we tried to order room service and it was closed at 11pm?? Our welcome book showed late night limited menu 23:00pm - 6:00/7:00am...yet told it was closed. Floors were very very slippery when wet and large puddles up over our ankles on pathways. We had no choice but to go thru them. But we made the best of it!! Very clean rooms!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: We Had Fun

The resort is beautiful,the pools are large and each one has good features, bubbling lounges or jacquzi , swim up bar and love the adults only, very quiet and the kiddi pool. The lounges need replacing alot of them are worn out. It was very nice that the waiter would take your drink order right at your chair. The beach was ok, not the blue that I like but oh well! Blue Moon romantic is a smaller cozy place for couples. All the drinks were good, Mimosas for breakfast every morning! The shows were excellent, enjoyed the lobby bar as well. Rooms were nice however it rained alot at night and we had water coming into the closet on the third floor so we moved to a different room. The beds are hard and not very comfortable, they need new mattresses as both rooms were the same, the maids did a good job. Good sound proof in rooms didnt hear anybody else. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Nice resort

We traveled with Air Canada Vacations, 2 adults and one kid in Nov 2019. This was our first time in Varadero. The resort grounds and pools are nice, well maintained. The beach is ok, although there are lots of palapas on the beach, the only way to claim one would have been to get there at 7 AM. In terms of food, it is the typical cuban experience. The entertainment was good. Bring a mug or a reusable cup, as they might ran out of plastic cups. For those who are used with the ocean at Cayo Coco or Holguin, be aware that it is rough especially when it's windy. Overall the resort was good, it served our purpose of getting warm and visiting Havana.

Ocean Maya Royale: Relaxing vacation

The staff were amazing expecial Margarita. And the food was okay at the buffet and extremely good at the a la cart restaurants. The drinks choices were good and the waiters were quick to serve you. Overall the resort was clean and welcoming.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Resort

We had a great time. The service at this resort was way beyond expectations from the chamber boy who cleaned our room to the waiters at the bars and buffets. Everything at the resort was really clean and well maintained. The pools were beautiful and the beach amazing. Plan to return as soon as feasible.

Playa Vista Azul: Not what expected

I have been to an ocean resort in Santa Maria, so i thought I would try this one. Beach was beautiful and infinity pool great. Rooms were nice but not cleaned properly. The food at this resort was disgusting. The disco was at a buffet at night. Lobby bar closes early. Very disappointing resort.

Playa Vista Azul: This resort needs improvement

It’s a beautiful resort and very modern. But I really hated the service. A lot of the women that works at the receptionist were very rude . I had issue with my key card for the door 4 times , I had to go to receptionist and she was very rude and she was annoyed that I kept coming back. Some of the bartenders are not very friendly at all . The lobby bar closes at 12 am, nothing to do after... people still wanna hangout in the lobby. We waited 45 mins for a la cart . The Italian restaurant is shit. The lasagna was hard and the pizza does not that look like pizza And taste shit. ...I do like the Caribbean restaurant ..... I had to kill a cockroach at the buffet and seen one at pool . The food presentation of the buffet is not very appealing. This is only 4 yrs old and I’ve seen some stuff that are not maintained. Our toilet didn’t flush properly, we had to flush 2 or 3 times I order to work The only good thing about this resort is the infinity pool . I’ve been to Cuba 🇨🇺 10 times and this resort service and food has to be on the bottom list . I’m sorry but I’m being honest . My bad experience for the first time in varadero. I still love Cuba but not this resort service. . I will come back to Santa Maria . Maybe there is better resort in varadero . I heard Bella costa is good. I heard people talked about the bad food at the buffet ... and I got sick had a cold ... pink eye and ear infection, my friend had stomach flu bad diarrhea . Like I said I like the resort because it’s modern love the beach and the entertainment shows was were very good . We love our room . I will not comeback unless they start making changes to their food and service . I normally a understanding person and always defended Cuba as their bad reputation for the food but to actually experience it. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: No mosquitoes!

We had a great time, stayed from Nov 4 to Nov 11. We were lucky we had a good weather, no rain, just the last day was windy, big waves but the water was still very warm. The beach is breathtaking, we enjoy it so much! Food is good, big variety of fish, cheese, meat, bakery. Room is big and everything working, we always had hot water, no problem. Very friendly hardworking people, don't even expect tips, ones I had to run behind to give it! Night shows are OK. Wi-Fi working good, 1 hour free per day. Couple things I would improve: 1. Air Conditioning in the buffet, never working, only on the first day was on; very hard to stay without in this hot weather. 2. On the beach, on the bottom of the roof shade you can badly hit your head by nails, be very careful, I hope it will be fixed soon! 3 The bridge to the beach is about to break down, we just try to avoid it, getting to/out the beach from the side, but one day they have to change it no way! 4. Bus service, panoramic double deck, is unacceptable! No schedule, they always say it's coming every 40-45 min. We were waiting 2 hours! On the way back, after 3 hours of waiting, it's never show up, we had to take taxi. Hotel receptionist told us it's not their business but it makes our stay, they should differently do something with this. 5. Ice cream station was opened only once in 7 days! I would build small beach restaurant special for lunch, they do very tasty shrimps grill, chicken and sea food but no place to sit down! Any way, we enjoyed our stay, and big thank you to everyone who work hard to make our vacation unforgettable!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great place to visit

The entertainment staff does a great job keeping everyone happy and engaged during the day and night. Staff were friendly. Not too keen on the "Mexican raccoons" running around most of the day and night but seem to be accustomed to humans. Good food choices. Japanese Teppanyaki grill restaurant was a fun experience.

Playa Vista Azul: A good resort

The hotel is nice, the grounds are beautiful , clean and well maintained., the view was wonderful . The room was nice and our maid exceptional but for a five star hotel I expected to have a small shampoo, conditioner, hand soap in the bathroom, none of that was available. Towels were also missing from the bathroom when we arrived, we had to wait for someone to bring us some so we could take a shower. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Amazing resort

This resort was a tad dated, but beautiful. The room was spacious and had a waterfall shower. The mini bar was always stocked. Mikes coffee bar was one of my favourite places to be during the mid afternoon heat, with great drinks and snacks.The staff on the resort was always friendly and greeted you with a smile.

Ocean El Faro: Nice resort, very basic food

Resort is nice, service is good but the food is very sub par. Not what we expected in a 5 star! Room was nice and clean and the pools are great. Staff and service is good, not a bad value over all for the money,

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Festive and lively resort

We loved this resort for so many reasons! There were amazing bands playing almost every evening near the reception area and as well as in a private room near by. Also, at the beach and the pool area there were a lot of activities like games and dance classes animated by the staff. The food was ok, we preferred the food in the city of havana. But the price that we paid was absolutely worth it. There is also a snack bar near the pool that opens at night which is awesome when you get hungry. In most resorts you have to reserve in advance and sometimes you even have a limit to how many times you can go! The staff are super friendly and smile when you say hi. The rooms were fine too, they were clean and that’s what we hoped for. This is the first resort I’ve been to in cuba and I would definitely recommend this one if you’ve never been to cuba yet!!!

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort

The resort was great. A little larger than we liked but they had great staff and great drinks. The beaches were a bit further away but beautiful. Travel there was not good. No one from our group sat together . And red eye is never fun. Food was okay but Cuba is known for having mild food.

Ocean El Faro: Great potential

The hotel is beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a variety of food selections and the buffet is great. Unfortunately the rooms that myself and friends were staying in appeared to have missed a few parts. One room had caulking in the sink that looked unprofessional. My room had a missing door handle to the shower. Housekeeping didn’t change my sheets all week, although it was requested. Room service is a 30-75 minute wait depending on when you order. When we arrived the [... read more] employee who shuttled is to our rooms stated he would pick us up for breakfast in the morning. We thought this was the hotel treating us as it was our friends birthday (which we mentioned during check in). Only to realize when we were picked up that it was a timeshare presentation where they wanted us to sit down for 1-2 hours listening to them tell us why we should book directly though them opposed to through travel agencies. Needless to say, we were not pleased as this was not what we came to the resort to do. Also when you are on the beach, expect to be bothered by several people trying to sell products to you. The lazy river had an ongoing current but isn’t as relaxing as expected, there is water pouring down every 5-10 minutes from a waterfall or bucket throughout the course. Also be sure to check the daily newsletter so you can be informed on what restaurants are opened and which are closed. They do not deliver the paper to you or have it throughout the resort for you to see, so sometimes you will have plans to go to a restaurant only for it to be closed.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Cuba: Francophone meeting location

Typical Cuba: really nice and awesome beach, food is the big issue: only one buffet location, 3 restaurants a la carte and they are not fantastic, drinks: couldn't get any good cocktails, I would stick with beers and wine. Missing vegetables & fruits some days, orange juice was nowhere to be found, it is sad. Rooms were okay and clean. Miele café was popular and good place to grab a good cold or hot coffee. Suggestion: go out to explore the city and perhaps eat out for at least one good meal during your stay! Lots of Quebec francophone tourists, even the Cubain speaks French everywhere.

Playa Vista Azul: Nice resort

Beautiful pool area with lots aof room, chairs and space. Set high on a cliff great view. A bit of a challendge to access thebeach as you have to walk over a sand dune and down a bit of a cliff. Beach nice, shares with Iberostar next door. Rooms nice, not smelly, àhowever lacks ammenties as advertised such as room service ( asked 3 people for a menu and never appeared. Advertises in room coffee makers but no coffee to be found EVEN when trying to buy some from the maids. No hot water 2 day [... read more]s, no face clothes 2 days. Advertises 5 resturants however only 1 open every night and a wait to get in. Leaves lots of empty tables for priviledge members. Staff very friendly and try to do their best with what they have. Entertainment was very good in the lobby every night. Worst staff ever in the coffee shop, always sitting down and on their phone. 7 types of drinks on menu but all taste the same. Buffett never changes lunch or supper.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: 4 star hotel

It was an okay resort not a 5 star tho. Restaurants are okay the best is the Japanese and the pasta station in the buffet. Also the omelette station in the mornings really nice. They wanted to charge corking fee which is ridiculous when we brought our own wine.

Ocean El Faro: New resort

Dining was great except they shut down the buffett one night. Rooms were kept clean. Service people were friendly and awesome! Bad bits- not enough garbage receptacles and NO outside washrooms for pool users to go to, so guess where they went.
