Grand Memories Punta Cana: Staff is not good especially bartenders

All around the resort is OK it’s clean the rooms were clean the area is clean the food was good but grand memories I was very disappointed with.When we first got there and went to the bar the bartender was unprofessional rude did not know how to make a drink did not care about our concerns and would not listen. Our room did not have any water I called three times nobody came to Give us any until I got an email from a random lady asking how our stay was Again I enjoyed the food the hotel was c [... read more]lean but the staff was not very good and did not care about our concerns.This may be random but this is just what happen with us.Also one big thing is all the bars and places close down at 10 PM at grand memories so we could not get a drink anywhere after 10 PM

Sol Turquesa Beach: The staff at this resort are incredible!

This resort was wonderful, but if you have any mobility issues, book elsewhere. There are a lot of stairs everywhere. Also, there isn't a bug spray made that stops the bugs from biting. I have been to Cuba numerous times, and never had an issue with bug bites. This year they were unbearable. With this said, we had an amazing vacation and Love Cuba.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great resort, great staff!

The hotel was in good shape. Bungalow 59 could use some updates compared to our friend's bungalow (61). Water pressure failed one day, but was fixed the following. No great concern. Overall, kept very clean and tidy. Butler service was amazing and very helpful. Food was good, no issues at all. Beach grill awesome. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Actually feel it could be marketed as an eco hotel due to all the lush vegetation and trees present. We never experienced  [... read more]any concerns and would return.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Amazing staff. Lovely people work there and do their best. They are worried.

Been there 4 times but very sad this time. It is now adults designation so extremely loud microphones in lobby and at pool could be heard on the beach and on our deck. Fewer people than before when families, of different sorts filled up the resort. La creole is shut down, central square was empty, fewer la carte meals, 2 instead of 3. But, amazing buffet dinner on Wedneday, very clean room and service excellent. Gardens are well tended and cared for . Sol Turquesa Beach: Won't Go Back...

I've been to Cuba many times and I love the people! I'm also not a super fussy person about the resort for the most part. Cleanliness, a semi comfortable bed and white wine. That's all I need for a week in the sun. Nothing fancy. This trip had none of those. I'm still scratching my legs a week later, there was no white wine at ANY b [... read more]ar, we withdrew money from the cadeca in the lobby ONCE and the next day, an identical withdraw.... it's going to take 6 to 8 wks to 'maybe' get our $175 back... the transaction was done by the cadeca clerk- not an ATM. Servers were all lovely, bartenders were quick. But I'll never go to this resort again.

Memories Miramar Habana: Very pleasent. Great staff.

Beautiful grounds. Nice swimming pool. Food usually good. Easy to get anywhere. Close to the ocean. Safe. Clean. We would go back again. Room service would have been nice or a coffee maker in the room

Grand Memories Varadero: Terrible Resort

First time to Cuba, and will never go back. The resort was dirty and not maintained. The service was terrible, no one would acknowledge you or even say hello. The rooms were decently clean but there was no hot water & you couldn’t get fresh towels/ or sheets. The alcohol was limited & zero ice. The buffet food was disgusting, the served the same food everyday. The disco was only open from 11:00-1:00. 24HR snack bar was limited to 1 sandwich and it took more then 45 minutes to get served. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Beaches and Friendly Staff

Memories Caribe is "quaint and cozy" with many choices for your meals and buffet options. Most amazing is the beaches. I have been to DR, Mexico and Bermuda and I found the beach here the MOST beautiful with the unbelievable teal waters and sand bars. A shout out to the wonderful and friendly staff, to name a few John at the front desk, Darma at the book shop, and my favorite Chef from the omelette station and fried rice station. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing beach

We stayed at the Memories Flamenco between Feb. 18 to 26, 2020 and had amazing vacation. Checking In was quick, staff at the checking desk courteous and very helpful. Our room was in building #6 3rd floor, was spacious and clean. Cleaning staff did excellent job, helpful and always in good mood. Buffet restaurant had lot of variety and very fresh. Chefs at the cooking stations were very entertaining and preparing excellent food. We loved their fresh prepared fish. Lot of baked goods and [... read more] desserts. Entertainment staff did good job in preparing different activities. Overall, we had excellent time, love the people there as they try very hard to please their customers. Beach it’s breathtaking, plenty chairs to lounge on and we walked on the beach for 6 to 8 KM each day, sometimes twice. Yes I would recommend this resort to friends.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories Flamenco Cayaco

Our hotel was lovely .. the main bar was the star.. our hotel room was good with hot running water and we had our ocean view . Towels and bedding were changed regularly. We had beach towels ever day. Food was plenty - full with buffet and you could wait while they cooked fresh fish, chicken and beef... lots of salads, rice and potato dishes ... plenty of desert interests. Also three other Restaurants To choose from. Please remember this is Cuba they do their very best with their supplies..  [... read more] The beach and water so so excellent. Lots of chairs and places to sit and enjoy .. The Staff excellent? And of course a bit of tipping goes the extra mile... I recommend this resort. My Family husband , 27 year old son, 25 year old daughter and grand daughter 6 had a very nice week. Cheers

Memories Paraiso: Poor resort

This hotel is in need of many repairs to the rooms the pool area and general maintenance. The food selection wasn’t great. They certainly don’t practice food safety when preparing food. The staff were lovely with the exception of the man who refilled the room fridge. He was rude and stingy. The beach was beautiful. I would not recommend staying at this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: The good , the bad, and the scary

We spent two weeks at this resort. First time in Cuba. Probably the last. We arrived at the resort at 11:45pm. No one to help with luggage. Told to go out the door and turn left. That's it. Very, VERY little lighting. Couldn't have read map without cell phone light. Third floor walk up. Big challenge with a very bad back like mine. Everybody knows food in Cuba is not that good. Food was in fact horrible. Buffett does not turn on heat under trays. Never. Not once was the Buffett even warm. Went t [... read more]o Italian a la carte. Terrible. Neither one of us could eat it. Creole a la carte was very good. Poolside snack bar was ok. Hamburger, hot dog, chicken sandwich all ok. Two beach side bars, poolside bar and snack bar all NO ICE!!! Ridiculous that you can't get a cold drink at a resort that averages 30-35C every day. Beds... Mattress was old steel spring style. No cushion top. Worst bed I have ever seen in a hotel. Shower was a joke. Shot all over the place. We had hot water every day. Others did not. Bring at least one flashlight for every person. Worst lighting I have ever experienced. The beach... Most beautiful beach I've ever been on. Beautiful sand. Goes for miles. STUNNING!!! Fantastic water for swimming. Warm, clear, fantastic colours as you look out from your chair. Lots of palapa's for shade. Tons of lounge chairs and friendly guys to help you out. Big pools. Pool was always clean but pretty chilly. Lots of room. Lots of games from the entertainment staff. Staff overall were great. Friendly and helpful. Most spoke English very well. Overall... Great beach. Beautiful water. Stunning scenery. Warm and friendly people. Fantastic weather. Two weeks. Not a drop of rain. BUT... Food is awful. Place is run down even though it is only eight years old. It looks twenty plus.

Grand Memories Varadero: Below average

The grounds of the resort are well maintained and nice considering it is quite large. This is the first warning for elderly or people with young kids. Resort is huge. From standard room section to beach is roughly 15 minute walk. They have lots of trolleys but only guests checking in/ out get rides so you will be walking- a lot! Beach is beautiful with lots of chairs but whereas most resorts use the beach chairs with the blue fabric this resort uses the more standard wal mart style with the pla [... read more]stic slats. Not that other guests always respect this, I’d still recommend getting to the beach to reserve chairs around 0530/0600 as premium seating areas are full by 7am. The only beach bar is not on the beach but the pathway down to the beach and there are no close washrooms. Because of this seating near the path is at a premium and you could end up walking 15 minutes + for drinks or washroom. The pools are nice but again premium seating and unlike beach there are not enough chairs so a lot of people laid their towels on the grass. Rooms themselves are gross. Our group had rooms from each of the available options and basically all the same room. Patio doors are difficult to open at best. Furniture in our room was about five years past it’s life expectancy with broken doors, handles etc. sometimes lights were dim, sometimes bright. All five rooms we had had toilet seats, yet none were attached to toilet- try that after a day of booze! Broken tiles throughout the rooms, A/C is a joke. Once we were able to force open our closet doors we did find that the safe worked fined despite the broken handle and display on it. All rooms were dirty when we got them but if you tip the staff well they’ll at least mop and make the bed. Due to national shortages of soap our sheets were not changed for the week, toilets not scrubbed and clean towels only show up with tips. Mini fridges have similar issues. Shortages of beer mean without tipping the staff so they get to know you your fridge will likely only get one beer, one pop and one water per day. None of our group tried the al la cartes but from what we were told they are similar quality to the buffet, snack bar and bbq restaurant. I could go on and on about how trays of meat, cheese, shrimp, etc are left out on counters from breakfast to dinner then the same trays are topped up and put out again the next day (we marked them to verify this) or how the cooked and raw chicken breasts and wings are mixed together on the bbq leading to many people being served raw chicken but I think the best way to sum up the food is we made plates for the stray dogs and not one would eat the food. Overall it seems management are trying to bring this resort back to where it should be by having staff renovate rooms, paint buildings, repair/ replace broken everythings but they are dramatically understaff for the amount of work and are renovating rooms one at a time when they need to shut down a building at a time at the very least. A building next to us had guests (Staying in rooms above the construction rooms and crews worked from 6am to 10pm daily.) Overall thoughts- if we were give a free week to this resort we’d decline.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Nice Cuban Resort

Amazing Staff and Service, it look like a former 5* hôtel getting old but very acceptable. Room was OK and clean. Beach was nice little sea weeds et somes rocks but very acceptable. Breakfast and desert was awesome lunch and diner was acceptable. Excellent choice for the price, very satisfied. Thank you Bill !

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very comfortable!

The resort was clean and grounds well kept. The beach was amazing, crystal clear water. Staff were resourceful and very friendly. Loved the daily entertainment during the day and evenings. A little bit for everyone. Loved all the daily fresh fruit at the buffet. Never a dull moment!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Resort has beautiful beaches and amazing staff.

The resort needs some TLC in some of the rooms but the beaches and views are beautiful. Food is not the greatest but you won’t starve that’s for sure. The entertainment is good and their is lots to do. Pools are great! The staff was amazing and I made great memories.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort!

This resort is one of the largest I have visited. The grounds were beautiful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Pool area clean. Dining area was busy (we visited over spring break!) but food was plentiful, there was something for everybody. Entertainment was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The beach was absolutely beautiful, one of the best.

Grand Memories Varadero: Sunshine in February

All in all a beautiful experience. The beach, pool and buffet were great. My complaints would be the distance from my room to the beach and buffet - about a 4 or 5 minute walk to each - hard on my feet. Big resort so there were long lines for service at bars, reception. Also, the beach area was separated for Diamond Club so we others were crowded together and further down the beach. Would not recommend.

Beautiful gardens the beach was amazing the rooms need to be upgraded furniture too old entertainment was good the only problem is the mosquitoes . The Buffet was good the first 2 days we ask for white wine and they don’t have but after they start to serve
