Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: FANTASTIC RESORT
This is our second time at this resort and third time to Cuba, we made the mistake of trying somewhere else and were so disappointed. We came back to Iberostar Playa Alameda and so glad we did, the staff, the beach, the resort is fantastic, food is better than anywhere else I've eaten in Cuba, rooms are spacious and clean, but what keeps you coming back is the people/staff. Definitely going to be back again!
Be Live Turquesa: HOME AWAY FROM HOME
We just returned from our 3rd visit to this fantastic adults only resort. We love the Melia Cayo Coco because of the staff. They welcome you as if you were family. From year to year, they recognize your face and are so happy to see you again. The food at the Melia Cayo Coco is outstanding. The chefs take pride in cooking the food to your liking and are always replenishing the trays with fresh food. The beach has beautiful white sand and you can walk for miles. The Animation staff offer activitie [... read more]
Sol Palmeras: Wonderful resort for families/
The staff at the reception. house-keeping and the main restaurant were fabulous! There were some minor difficulties at one of the a la carte restaurants when trying to seat a family of 9 people together at one large table. Great facilities for youngsters. The grounds maintenance seemed to be of lower priority, particularly around the bungalows.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great all-inclusive
This was my first all-inclusive and I was so thankful it was a good choice. Food was excellent- lots of choice at every meal. Sometimes an issue to fins seating during peak meals times. More choice/time availability for A La Carte Restaurants would have been nice as not all guests were able to reserve the number they paid for. Room was ok- our location wasn't ideal (by the kid pool), but we were comfortable. Resort is beautiful- buildings, gardens etc. they are under-going some renovations (patc [... read more]
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very nice resort!
Travelled with my adult daughter during the second week of March. Resort was very clean and the gardeners worked hard to keep the grounds immaculate. Our maid took very good care of our room. Our room was in the central area of the complex beside the spa. Perfect location midway between the beach and the dining rooms and across from the pool. We would recommend Block 26. Best entertainment was in the piano bar. The band Veradero Blues was excellent and did a wonderful job of engaging their aud [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Very disappointing
The Riu was understaffed and rundown. We did not receive what Sunwing advertised. This hotel is changing ownership the end of March. It was not even close to Riu standards, not even close to 5* in Cuba. We were well aware that it would not be a 5* standard in North America. We do not go to Cuba for the food...but we have been to 5 other 4 stars and a 3-1/2 star in Cuba and the food, service, etc. was much better at the other resorts we have been to. They needed much more staff. They ran out of [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing Vacation!
This is my favourite resort in Varadero! The staff at the pool bar, Disney & Norge, were friendly and courteous. The beach was beautiful and relaxing. I could not have asked for a better vacation! We will be back for our next anniversary.
Grand Memories Varadero: This resort needs some work done
The grounds were beautiful, too bad the same effort was not put into maintaining the rooms and facilities. The staff were friendly and did the best they could with what the had. The dining rooms needed a proper cleaning, broken chair should be removed and tables should be cleared to allow other guests to sit and eat. On the last day they ran out of clean coffee cups so we had our coffee in glasses. If you want a spot by the beach prepare to wake up a 5am to do so. I made three attempts, at one p [... read more]
Hotel Acuazul: You get what you pay for
Decent place for what you pay. If you're not laid-back though pay extra to stay somewhere else. The phone in our room and safe didn't work, the food was mediocore (much nicer off of the resort), and there were two days when the water didn't work for about 5 hours. The rooms are spacious and clean though, the beach is gorgeous, and the price was low enough that we didn't feel bad staying in Havana for a few nights.
Club Tropical: Amazing Staff
Hotel is ok it's old and they keep it up best that they can with what there given. The staff and location is why I go back. The food was better this time, you have to remember that there serving people from many different countries.
Barcelo Solymar: The yin yang resort.
A place such as this may only be described by the use of a yin yang symbol. Barcelo solymar was an utterly dreamy hotel. The resort was an array of beauty everywhere you look. The rooms, meeting standards and accommodating for everything you'd need while away from home. Water more blue than a baby's eyes and sand as soft and warm as it gets. The bartenders meeting and surpadsing expectations and always providing great drinks. The good. The service and food on the other hand may not meet complete [... read more]
Playa Caleta: disappointed
I stayed at the Puntarena the hotel is advertised as 3 star so I knew I wasn't going to a 5 star resort .....but the hotel itself there is no excuse 3 stars or not..(they hotel says they are 4 stars btw) the front desk staff were friendly when we arrived the lobby fit my expectations it was ok a little jungle theme I guess ..going into the elevators is appalling the linoleum on the floor is ragged and I takes you for ride before getting to your floor. the room was dreadful old and dingy, one of [... read more]
Palma Real: You get what you pay for
Well most of the reviews were true. Don't pay anymore than $800 for this place. It's run down and need a lot of work. Food isn't the best either. Most times no hot water, towels, and most things are broken.. 75% of the resort are 20 year olds. Guessing cause it's cheap. Pay the extra and stay somewhere else
Punta Peninsula Varadero: absalutley beautiful resort
the resort was beautiful, and the entire staff was there to see your stay was the best it could be,willing to take the time to address all your needs and concerns.the food ranged from a large variaty of everything ,always offering something differant every day, and it seemed there was something for everyone. the food staff were always there to insure you had everything you needeed, and you didnt have to wait to have your drinks refilled or other needs met. My wife has a disability with her legs [... read more]
Muthu Playa Varadero: Mini get away
2nd time to Cuba- overall it was a nice get away but I wouldn't recommend Playa D'oro. It is listed as a 4* but should definitely be a 2+/3*. Food was edible, beach was amazing, rooms were sub par, service not that great. Our flight got cancelled coming home (mech failure) so we were put up at the RIU ( another 4*- could have easily been 4+ or 5*) our few hours at the RIU we're amazing! The hotel and grounds were awesome, entertainment amazing, service was great.
Hotel Los Cactus: Second Time to Breezes Varadero
We enjoyed our second visit to the Breezes Varadero Resort. The rooms are large and clean. The grounds and the beach are beautiful. The food is typical for Cuba. We like all the areas to sit for a quiet drink in the evening.
Club Kawama: Disappointing resort
This hotel has so few amenities I was shocked. The staff always seemed inconvenienced when you ask for help or outright annoyed. Major issues with room on a daily basis. One day no water for over an hour, another no electricity. Rooms not cleaned daily, only beds made and towels. Good was average. Buffett always running out of clean glasses or hot Buffett selections sat empty and many were unmarked with mystery food in them. Best part about the place was the beach.
Starfish Jibacoa: Lovely place
We stayed seven days at villas Jibacoa in an ice bungalow. Plain and used furnitures but clean. To my surprise there where bath caps, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. We always had plenty of hot water to shower, good air conditioning and TV with great movie stations. The grounds are beautiful, very park like, and an abandoned of singing birds, which was absolutely enjoyable, so is the double pool which are right at the beach which has trees for shade and large and beautiful. The buffet resta [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Resort
My family went here in December and my daughter and I returned for a girls only trip in March of this year. For the first time away for us we were very comfortable and the staff is amazing. They look after every wish we had. Great Service.
Palma Real: Nice hotel !
The beach is beautiful, there's 3 pools and lot's of bar. Drinks are good but the food is just okay. Not discusting but not delicious. We went to Havana Club and it was pretty cool. The room are good.
