Dreams La Romana: Love this resort!

The resort was wonderful! The staff were all so friendly and provided great service. Beaches and pools were wonderful. Always a chair available. The unlimited a la carte dining was also fabulous! The views from the moment you woke til sunset... so beautiful. Lots of activities for all ages and clear that the staff really focused on you having a memorable experience.

VH Atmosphere: 3 star at best

Returned Feb 10, 2018 Pros: Small resort and nice and quiet. No loud entertainment. Beds new and comfortable. VIP bars very quiet. Staff qualities keep the resort acceptable. Good walking around Playa Dorada. Cons: Poor management. Refurbishment was generally a repaint and repair according to past guests. Resort needed some color and character since it was mostly white. Internet OK for us but not working in other rooms according to other VIP guests. Staff generally afraid to identi [... read more]fy problems and suggest changes to management even though they were confused as to the reason for management requirements and could easily see failures of management expectations. VIP upgrade a waste of money. VIP Bars have very poor selection of available liquors. Most of the time no Brandy, Grand Marnier, Baleys, Grey Goose, Triple Sec, Cognac, Kahlua, Contreau, Tia Maria and others. At best, only one VIP bar would have one item while the other would not. Items would constantly have to be transferred back and forth. When bottle was empty no replacement available. Ordering should be by case not bottle. Liquor control questionable since had to provide room number and sign for all VIP drinks despite distinct wrist band. VIP bars were not identified to non VIPs and thus caused confusion to non VIP guests. Bar Management personnel need training. Luxury rooms needed furniture. Room Service is available but there is no table or chairs to eat from. No desk or chair for laptop work. Room echoes due to lack of furniture. Bathroom is basic at best. Check out was supposedly at 1pm but keys stopped functioning at noon causing many couples to have to renew key to reenter room and get luggage. Toilets used high volume (5 gallons) but needed at least 2 (3 to 5 normally) flushes to clear bowl. Replacing with efficient 1.5 gal toilets could save money on water costs. Buffet restaurant has limited selection as expected for small resort but meat courses were frequently exhausted and could take up to 1 hour prior to replenishment. At 75% full the buffet was generally completely full with people waiting, even with extra tables being set up outside. A la Carte restaurants were always fully booked by 10am. Extra VIP services such as Fruit platter on arrival, turn down service and chocolates were inconsistent at best. Had to ask to get ours after 4 days and even then, only got perks about 50% of time. Stated Concierge gift was not provided to any one unless the guest asked. On the last day I asked and was informed that it was a professional photo shoot (I guess it had to happen in Canada since we were leaving). Beach Bar was highly disappointing. Food selection was poor and inconsistent. Cuba 3 star at best. Only one non VIP bar usable during the rain and it was only open during the dinner hours. One VIP bar was enclosed. Overall we enjoyed ourselves since we had a break, but, I think that for the cost there are many better choices available. Although this hotel has just been refurbished my impression is that it is under the same management as before. This makes the shortfalls less of a growing pain then, poor management and organization. I tend to believe that the VIP upgrade was an experiment that will not last.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Outstanding resort

We have returned to this hotel many,many times. It is mostly because the staff and management at this hotel are exceptional at what they do and making you feel comfortable. No request is too large and they go out of their way to welcome their guests. The food is excellent,the pool and surrounding areas are exactly what you need to sun, relax and enjoy the beautiful Dominican Republic. Riu Republica: Fun Resort

First time at an Adult Only resort. It was fabulous. Food amazing, had something for everyone. Bar was great! I found most of the staff did not speak english except for the bartenders and receptionist, so this was a bit of a challenge, but did not hamper my vacation. The beach is awesome, lots of loungers, the water is a little choppy, red flag everyday during Jan to Feb 2018, you can still swim, but at your own risk. The pools, WOW, there are approximately 6 and they are all great, again, something for everyone. I would recommend that management turn up the music a that the beach pool, there are many young guests, including me, and I am sure they would appreciate it. The evening entertainment such as the nightly shows, was okay, nothing spectacular. All in all, I enjoyed my stay, it was sad to leave. We would return definitely :)

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Great

It was perfect. Great room comfort, location on ocean front, excellent staff service and all the food and drink choices you would ever want. Couldn’t think of any negatives. Weather co-operated by raining mostly at night. Loved the bracelet key fob. Never had to worry about carrying a key.

Riu Merengue: Big Resort

This resort was big therefor a lot of walking.It has beautiful grounds and well maintained. The rooms were good and clean.Touched a gecko first morning on the curtains,rather unexpected ha! ha! Food was really good and plentiful,although the buffet was quite a walk from our room. Staff were fabulous and friendly. We love to snorkel however the ocean was to murky ,it rained every day. Lots of beach chairs every where which was a plus.The shows were ok mostly audience based.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Amazing resort and remarquable staff.

Tout était parfait! la seul chose que nous n'avons pas aimé c'est l'accueil 2 heures avant d'avoir notre chambre parce qu'il essayait de nous faire payer du surplus pour nous placer dans une chambre exécutive (VIP), tout c'est bien terminé sans payer de frais supplémentaire.

Riu Republica: Average Riu resort

We just stayed at the Riu Republica in Punta Cana. The rooms were clean, no bugs at all. The beach was nice, you could walk for miles down the beach if you so desired, the ocean was rough which made it fun to play in the waves (if you are a good swimmer). The food was very average, the buffet was decent, nothing special about the specialty restaurants.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful stay

Clean,updated room with a beautiful balcony and view.Food was excellent,lots of choices.Not the best deserts( but that is not a bad thing). Pools were clean,High class entertainment.Wifi is temperamental.Staff was friendly/ok.The only negative comment is the beach is not nice.Overall a wonderful stay.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Beach: very bad

are stay at the be live resort was one of the worst stay we have ever had there was mold in are rooms, the rooms were not cleaned every day the drains were not draining in the tub, had to ask for towels daily, front desk were not very interested in helping us with this situation,there was a lot more but we will never go back to this resort and we will never recommend this resort to anyone

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Pretty good resort

We stayed at the confresi palm Feb 9th 2018, in a standard room. The room itself was a little dated but not to bad. The main pool is great and there are several pools to choose from across the very large resort. Buffet Food was good and changes up slightly day to day. The A La Cart restaraunts were good as well, we went to the Italian, Chinese, and Mexican. I wish we tried the Brazilian as it smelled great from outside. Loved the resort rooms were spacious and clean enjoyed the pools and bars unfortunately if your looking for a fantastic beach this is not the one but on the positive side you can take a 20 minute taxi to some fabulous beaches for the day!

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: It was an ok resort

The grounds were beautiful but the staff didn’t know what they were doing when we checked in We got a key to a room where people were in already and we had to walk back to the lobby and try to get another room. The food was ok and would have been good if they would have cooked it all the way. OVERALL THE EMOTIONS RESORT IS A TRADIONAL DOMINICAN RESORT ON A SMALLER SCALE WITH EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE STAFF,AVERAGE BUFFET AND A LA CARTE RESTAURANTS AND A FEELING OF SAFETY WHILE YOUR ARE WALKING AROUND THE SURROUNDING BEACH FRONT PROPERTIES. BEACH HAS SOME ISSUES WITH CLOUDY WATER AND SEAWEED THAT ACCUMULATES ON THE SHORELINE(STAFF CLEAN IT UP AS BEST THEY CAN) BUT THE RESORT HAS PLENTY OF LOUNGE CHAIRS AND A NICE FULL SERVICE SNACK BAR CLOSE TO THE BEACH. Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio: Amazing People beautiful resort

This resort is beautiful. We stayed on the Essentia side which is the highest end they offer. The rooms are nice and the views and free things added in are a really nice add-on. However you must make sure you have the things you are suppose to have. Alot of little things were missing but when we addressed with guest services they were amazingly gracious and understanding. I could spend hours naming off all the people I have met there that made our vacation special. Honestly the people make the difference and these are the best people. The food in the buffets repeat regularly however this is not a bad thing. everything is better then expected and I'm a picky person. The a la carte's are exceptional in every aspect! Jose Antonio is truly wonderful. The bad is not in anyway shape or form fault of the hotel but the beach area is very rocky beach shoes are a must. The resort is kept sparkling at all hours. They have a very small road (more like an alley way) that is not very busy at all and they have security at the road at all times. (Don't be alarmed it's not needed) we walked up and down the roads and felt very safe. Even the locals are polite. If your looking for a nice quiet place for the family or even by yourselves you can't go wrong. I hope this helps and have a great trip! As far as trip Central.ca goes... They got us everything we wanted cheaper than any other providers. We saved 600$ total on our vacation just by booking here rather than sunwing.

All the facility are perfect, the pool was perfect ,room and rom service was great just there wasn’t great by the beach cus all was for privilege club , entertainment was really great , food was good but fruit wasn’t that great and fresh and bad part was the flight to get back to Canada oh my God was awful

Lovely stay at this resort drinks were the best at vip bar and beach was awesome people are friendly and willing to help you in any way . You need to reserve your a la carte on Sunday if you can or you miss out Only one complaint hard to get hold of transat agent to reserve any excursions

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Wonderful time

Had a great vacation at Iberostar. The hotel is beautiful and well kept. All the people who work there are very friendly. The buffet was good and all 3 a la cart's were very good. The room was very clean and well supplied.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: A wonderful, worry free holiday

We had an amazing time at this resort. The place is VERY well run, clean and comfortable. We were in building 2 and appreciated the 1.2 km walk to the main buffet restaurant! We have zero concerns regarding our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this resort to others.
