Casa Marina Reef Resort: Nice Hotel

It was a pleasure stay there, good beach and pool, food was delicious and rooms was very good, we stayed in a renovated one. Just to remark need more staff in the Restaurant and Bars. we went outside for shopping also to the public beach. we ate fresh seafood, was fantastic and safe. of course people trying to sell things.

Excellence Punta Cana: Surpassed all expectations

From the moment I logged onto TripCentral, everything was easy and practical. We had all the information we needed emailed to us, and because we printed the info and kept it in our carry-on, all the travel was quick, from home to resort and back, despite weather (snow) delays. WestJet gave us hotel vouchers for our cancelled flight, and Excellence Punta Cana made sure our stay was my most relaxing vacation ever. R" and we were told that it was due to a "problem" in one of the restaurant s, yet no one would tell us what that problem was. I would have liked to understand more. Other than that, we never wanted for anything, because there was always someone happy to help, whether it was a drink, changing funds, making a phone call, anything and everything. Always a lounging chair available and very clean. It is a quieter resort than most that I've seen, but that was exactly what we wanted. The crowd is very mature and relaxed. And the food.... Wow, the food was my favourite part! I would be very happy to repeat this experience.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Good ROI (return on investment)

This resort never fails to satisfy. Very consistent in their service, food, security and entertainment. We were pleased to see ongoing maintenance being done-painting, repairs, deep cleaning. We left comments for food to be updated in terms of health value-more zoodles, lower calorie, more nutritious with less cream sauces. Rooms could stand updating but overall well-worth the money. This was our 4th visit and we are going back.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Nice resort

After a long day and being put in two different unacceptable rooms and a long discussion with the reservation supervisor, whose goal was to sell us an upgrade, we finally were given a really nice room. The resort was lovely although staff did not speak English very well. Restaurants were good although there had been a fire and several were closed. Two of the restaurants were not included and were not worth the extra cost.

Riu Republica: Awesome Resort

Stayed at this hotel from Feb 2 to Feb 9, 2018. A beautiful resort but was a little too big for me. It was quite a walk to the beach because we stayed at the FUN pool which was located at back of the resort. The staff were amazing. The food was excellent. The rooms were very clean and modern, however I had to phone the front desk twice because when we went back to our room after 5 pm it was not yet done. They came within 10 mins and we just asked for clean towels. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good Resort

Beautifully kept grounds. As with most resorts the alcohol seems weaker and you have to specifically request "strong" as in alcohol content. You must put a bracelet on upon check in. Clean rooms - a little too cold. Great variety at the buffet dining room.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Not a 4 Star!

The room was clean and maid service was good. Although buffet was fairly repetitive, the food was hot and tasty. The main desk proved to be helpful and most staff were friendly. We enjoyed the Mexican alacarte and also tried Mediterranean and Brazilian, but did not like as well. But, on a whole, I would not rate as a 4 Star.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Resort was formidable

First time To a big resort like this and let me tell you there is a lot to do and see The transportation within the resort is amazing never had to wait more then a few mins anywhere on the resort Food was great Room was great Beach / pool and bars where great the whole resort is absolutely clean as it gets Our room ac was bone cold and very quiet The mini bar replenished every day An amazing experience

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Overall nice resort

We stayed Jan 23-Feb 6/18, this was our first time in the Dominican, as we normally go to Mexico. The resort is very large with lots of steps, but we knew this when we booked. Its definitely not a place to go if you have limited mobility etc. There are shuttles and golf carts everywhere to take you wherever you wanted to go, but never used them because we like to walk and see everything. Rooms were ok at best. We had quite a few things wrong with our room (toilet seat broken, patio doo [... read more]rs didn't lock, shower head was horrible, most days no hot water, coffee maker broken) But we didn't spend much time in here, so we didn't focus on it a lot. Food was awesome! There was always something different at the Pearl Buffet. We stayed for 2 weeks and very rarely saw the same items twice. The made to order omelettes were delicious, bread was so fresh, hubby loved the pizza, snacks by the beach were great - we have zero complaints about any of the food at all. Most of the staff were amazing, with the exception of the Front desk, they truly didn't seem to care about you, your concerns or your vacation. We learnt quickly to just bypass the front desk completely, because nothing got done anyways. Example - we had our A/C break, went to front desk at 7am before we left for an excursion, came back at 7pm and it was still broken. Called a maintenance guy at 7:30pm, the A/C was fixed by 8pm! We had no water, pop, beer in our fridge, talked to front desk who acted concerned, but by the next day we still had nothing. We saw one of the guys who stocked the fridges and talked to him, he took care of us with a smile! So my suggestion - if you have an issue try and find the person/department and they will solve it quickly for you. But as for the rest of the staff they were truly amazing!! We met so many that were awesome and a few who are now lifelong friends! Wilfredo William @ the Aqua bar is such an amazing guy who is always smiling, whistling, high fiving - he truly loves his job and we definitely will miss him! Victoriano Castillo @ Frost bar is awesome - he always made us feel welcome and would never let our drinks get close to empty...even if we were trying to leave lol. Kelvin Ivan who seemed to float around everywhere is so friendly and awesome, he actually seeked us out on our last day just to give me a hug goodbye! The entertainment guys were awesome and so hilarious - these guys always tried to get everyone up, moving and having fun! Hats off to Chocolate, Monkey & Shu Fly, you guys are truly awesome!!! We enjoyed walking up to the new Kviar casino. The drinks there were absolutely amazing and made with premium alcohol. Normally I'm not picky when it comes to this type of thing, but the difference in pina coladas made with the premixed slushy stuff and the fresh fruit/whipped cream at the casino was literally night and day. I also got to enjoy my mudslides at the casino, as the rest of the resort didn't carry kahula... I definitely recommend checking out the casino for a different atmosphere. The cost of the wifi kind of blew me away....they wanted $30 a day or $70 a week...like really? I don't go on vacation to sit on the internet, but I do require some access to touch base with family etc throughout the 2 weeks. We did figure out that if you walked up to the duty free store by the Tropical there was free wifi, so that was perfect. We don't really have any complaints about the resort. We did find the smell of sewage in the middle of the resort absolutely horrendous. This smell was there day & night and sometimes we could even smell it when sitting on our balcony. *yuck* We also hated the early morning phone calls...I can't even tell you who kept trying to call because I just unplugged the phone. We were on vacation....8am phone calls...really? It was probably to do the tour to get our "welcome gift", but we weren't interested in doing that either. The guys kept saying it would take 20 mins of our time. Our neighbours went on the tour and did the 20 mins, and then they were taken to the VIP building and were told it would be another 2ish hours. They walked out. I'm not wasting 3 hours of my vacation having people trying to pressure me into buying something that won't happen. We just firmly told them no, and they left us alone...but they do wait outside of the Pearl buffet waiting for you to leave like vultures. Overall we had an amazing vacation, and enjoyed our time here for sure. Would we go back to this resort? I couldn't say for sure if we would...the staff that went out of our way to ensure our vacation was awesome would be the only reason we probably would go back.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: FUn in the DR

This was a great hotel. However, we were encouraged to up-grade upon checking in and found that it was definitely not worth it. The rooms were not up-graded, we found that we could have used any of the pools or beaches anyway, there was no difference in the quality of the drinks and ,although we requested it, we did not receive a daily newspaper as offered. VH Atmosphere: Just the best

All the grounds were kept up great The food was great and kept clean the rooms were great and neat, but the floors and counters could have been washed more often The Hotel staff were great and helpful The reno done on this place was top notch! It definitely was a 4*.............

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Lovely

Had a wonderful vacation. My only real observation is that the drinks, the food nor the service was consistent . Sometimes it was great other times - not so much. Not enough pool or beach chairs - very frustrating not being able to find a spot unless you grap one at some ridiculous hour in the morning. Did love the towel policy - use it and leave it. Rooms are a tad small. All in all good value.

IFA Villas Bavaro Beach Resorts: Disappointed

When Greeted at the Hotel the person at the front desk made a rude comment about my name .The people at the front desk were abrupt and not pleasant or welcoming . The glass door in my room were not put on properly and made a loud cracking noise .The sliding door on my closet was off the tract .The food was so so to bad. Riu Merengue: Poor Performance

The hotel was recently sold and will cease operations in May. The staff have not been advised if they will be retained or not. Service people in all areas of the hotel are essentially walking dead. To reduce cost the hotel has closed half the restaurants and there is insufficient space for all the guests in the main dining room. Guests must wait to get a table and have to clean it themselves because there are not sufficient staff. Food lines are over ten minutes. This is a 2 Star hotel. Paradisus Punta Cana: Fabulous stay!

Gorgeous grounds, pools and beach. Lovely room, all conveniences, stocked mini bar and private outdoor space with fully furnished terrace. Stayed in building 21 which was within easy walking distance to everything. There is also regular shuttle service throughout. Lots of daytime activities and great nightly entertainment; shows and live music for dancing. Lots of fun! Good food and outstanding service.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: RELAXING

Good points 1- hotel staff very friendly and helpful 2- Food is very good 3- very clean BAD POINTS 1- Not 18 km from the airport but 78km so 1h15 from the airport 2- No hot water or very low water pressure 3- The lobby is starting to show signs of negligence

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: beautiful resort

Just returned from Sensatori, and had a great week with two other couples.Other than the cook at the beach restaurant, everyone else was more than helpful and friendly at this resort. The check in staff changed our room promptly when we found out that we had been put in a room that was two blocks over from where our friends were. All the a la cart restaurant restaurants were very good, and the buffet restaurant had a very good selection both for dinner, and for breakfast as well. The pool and be [... read more]ach staff were great,and it was nice to have a burger, hot dog or beef and chicken skewer off the grille for lunch instead of going into the restaurants for lunch. The entertainers worked hard every night, both in the arena area and the adult lounge. All three couples had a very enjoyable week.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Amazing resort

Everything was excellent. Very courteous staff. Rooms are very clean. The resort to me is a five star plus. This was the best food and entertainment we have ever had in the Dominican. We would certainly go back to this resort again.

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Lovely resort

We just returned from our Anniversary celebrations in Samana. We had booked the Roulette option, so we did not know until we arrived at the airport, which resort would be ours. We were taken to the El Portillo. Everything was great, even the weather. Staff was excellent, food was great, no complaints. The only drawback was the flight - Air Canada Rouge. But the wonderful time at the resort made it all worthwhile.
