Hotel Acuazul: Not So Bad
This resort was a budget resort. I totally enjoyed myself there. The place was very clean, not too much variety of food but enough to fill anyone. I met a lot of people there and had an amazing vacation. Loved the location - 2 minute walk to the large outdoor market and lots along the way. Room was really large and clean with 2 balconies. Had a problem 1 day with the toilet not flushing but they immediately fixed it. Gave me a late check out for $10 CUCs. Only complaint was the beach chairs were [... read more]
Hotel Los Cactus: Nice resort, food needs a lot to be desired
We were warned that you do not go to Cuba for the food, but this is ridiculous. It's not that they do not have different foods; they simply do not know how to prepare it. Considering how well educated the populace is, I do not understand how they cannot read a couple of basic cookbooks to figure out how to prepare meals. Even if it is not part of their culture, they are offering a whole experience to people, and part of this experience is the food. They should make the effort. While I would go b [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great vacation!!!
Although we came back to a snowy wonderland with another 30 cms today.....we had an excellent vacation! This was our second time at this resort (first time 4 years ago) and after reading some of the reviews, I must admit I was a little worried about going back!! After our first day there I was wondering if I was at the same resort other people had written about! It was great!!! We had requested an oceanview and once in our room thought that we would like a better ocean view. We went right back d [... read more]
Playa Caleta: cheap getaway
Pool was great, weather was great, beds sucked and food sucked but the omelet and pasta bars were good so you won't starve. Go in with an open mind and it's not all that bad just needs a update!!!!!!!
Melia Las Antillas: Not bad
Food was good. Staff could be friendlier and for an all inclusive resort we were surprised with a bill at time of check out for some wine at the a la carte restaurants. Having concierge was useless to us
Hotel Bella Costa: Excellent
We found the grounds were very clean. The staff were very very friendly. Fell in love with the guy that served the pasta in Jimmy's restaurant. Amazing the way he did his job. He had 4 frying pans going at one time, throwing the tongs in the air, clapping his hands, all while making your meal. He was very friendly to everyone and real cute to boot. Our rooms were very clean the only thing was we hardly had any hot water for our showers. Overall we had a wonderful time there. Even got a pic with [... read more]
Villa Tortuga: Very Good for a three star and the money we paid.
The resort was very well maintained, clean, public bathrooms were always kept clean, the pool was awesome, our rooms were standard rooms which were fine, spacious and clean. The staff were amazing. Of course the Beach Wow Wow Wow location was awesome close to town.
Starfish Varadero: some very good and not so good
the trees and flowering plants are of great variety and very mature very scenic the beach is very nice although i couldnt walk far in bare feet wihout getting those small burdocks stuck in my foot the staff is friendly and the beer is cold the food is poor even for cuban standards the only chicken at the buffet all week was the bony part of the back no breasts or thighs
Paradisus Varadero: Paradisus=funtastic
Best there is: Staff very friendly Activities are numerous and lots of fun Pool clean and beautiful, beach endless and unbelievable Food very good and lots of choices A la carte excellent food and magnificent presentation Rooms quiet and (Ocean view) splendid
Hotel Bella Costa: Very nice resort!
Overall everything was very good. The food was the best I had in Cuba. The Havana day trip was very informative. The only down was too many kids because of March break but I still had a good time and the price was right.
Hotel Acuazul: Very Very Very Poor
Showers heads did not work, pored bucket to showering, had to use buckets of water to flush toilet, no water in the entire hotel for almost 24 hrs. Had to use a garbage can with a bag as a toilet. Cross contamination of utensils when serving the food, 24hrs snack was only at certain time. Using a bucket for bathroom was really the last straw of this hotel.
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great time
We just returned from Cuba and had a great time at the Iberostar Laguna Azul. We are beach lovers and this one is lovely. The food at the nightly buffet was terrific. We did get to the Japanese and enjoyed it as well. I have no hesitations recommending this resort.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: A little bit of heaven :))
Emerald green water ...,sapphire sky.....crashing waves .....22 km long white sand beach !!! We just got back from Melia Peninsula after a Feb in Canada with temps of 25 to 49 below zero. Every day was beautiful and sunny with temps around 26 ....the ocean was warm too. The resort was in every way amazing. Check in went smoothly and we were driven to our immaculate room #29 since we had asked to be near the beach. It was a short walk through a sandy path to hundreds of chairs and natural umbrel [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Fair hotel gone down hill from 2 years ago.
Will not go back there again. Hardly any hot water. Had to ask 3 times for a safe. People at front counter was pretty rude. No toilet paper or paper towels in bar washroom. Food is awful. Need to change up food. Not the same food every day.
Hotel Los Cactus: Very limited choice at the buffet
It is our 4th times in Cuba and our expectation for food was low . We eat to survive and we are not fussy eater. When there is not even lettuce in a buffet, that is how bad it was. The a la carte menu were not better. It would compare this hotel to a Dominican Republic hotel 25 years ago.
Club Kawama: Club Kawama
Well TripCentral is not what I thought about this year because of being scared to do any vacation that wasn't in my area in person. Well you know it was the best experience that I have had out of any of my 6 vacations. They made you feel like they cared not just to get your money. Everyday they contacted me through the computer to see if I had remembered anything and made me feel like I was special. They also made sure that I knew they were there through my whole vacation if something went wrong [... read more]
Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Our second home.
It was the fourth time we went to Las Morlas, once again we love it, the hotel is not fancy, clean, good food and super nice people, from the looby to the beach bar.We had a wonderful time. Regards. Luiz & Fernanda
Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful location and an amazing resort!
We've traveled to numerous destinations for our hot destination and Breezes Varadero was by far our favourite. While it wasn't the most built up resort when compared to Mexico or Dominican, it had a comforting feeling like we were at home. The room were clean, food decent, and staff beyond friendly and willing to help. The resort by far has the best beach I have been too, all in close proximity to Varadero for night time fun. Highly recommended!
Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Good Resort
Overall, i enjoyed my stay here at this hotel, there were a few things that could improve that i noticed. The public washrooms weren't always clean or stocked with toilet paper. I found the resort was too busy and needed more staff. The buffet repeated a lot of the same foods. The ice cream parlour was yummy. In my room, my mini-fridge didn't work and i had called 4 times in 3 days and they kept saying they would send someone to fix it and they never did so i just gave up. The rooms were always [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: The resort is a little dated.
The grounds and location are awesome. We have been to Cuba several times and this was my least favorite resort. The food in the buffet was not top quality at all. I'm not a fussy eater but you wouldn't gain any weight eating at the buffet. The a la carte restaurants were better but seemed ordinary overall and portions we small too. I hated the fact that if we wanted a bottle of wine with dinner it was extra. The elevator was broken, dirty shower head in our room, missing toilet seats in the lobb [... read more]
