I have stayed at Bahia resorts maybe six times.
I was very disappointed this time, the television was not working, no fan, noisy etc.
The people were very nice.
I don't know why has the quality dropped.

Grand Oasis Cancun: My Opinion
If you are ok with being in a line for EVERYTHING then you will be ok with this resort. Buffets don’t hold enough people so expect a lengthy line up. Once in, don’t expect any salsa and butter not always available. If you like to drink, get 2 and just go to the back of the line. You’ll have finished your drinks by the time you get back to the front. Entertainment is slim to none. You have to make your own. The resort closes everything by 10:30 or 11:00pm, again make your own fun. There about 30 [... read more]lounge chairs on the beach. All will be reserved by 8:00am. The beach , ocean and rooms are fantastic. Service doesn’t really exist. This resort is all about what YOU make of it. My expectations were low but not low enough. ?

Oleo Cancun Playa: Wonderful resort!
The staff at this resort are amazing!!!! I cannot say enough good things about the staff. The food is very good as well and having 24 room service and a coffee shop with sandwiches and ice cream was amazing. The resort itself is very nice, with nice rooms. The negatives for me... 1. There was no nighttime entertainment.
2. The bar tenders basically rinsed the bar cups and sent them back out for use. I got a many dirty cups with lipstick marks, floating, etc. I ended up using my own cup as I g[... read more]ot very sick with diarrhea for 24 hours.
But the location is close to the airport, with wonderful lounge areas and hard working staff!!!
Location and resort facilities top notch. Food and variety of food options suited everyone in our group. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The rooms and service was excellent. We would return to this resort.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Still full from the amazing food!
My husband and I just got back from the Royalton Hideaway and I want to board a plane and head right back! The resort was super clean. The food was five star. The coffee shop had the best pastries and we tried every coffee drink on the menu and we were in love with every one of them.
Will be going back to this resort!

Grand Oasis Palm: Three Star Resort with Five Star Staff
This was my second time at the Grand Oasis Palm in Cancun. Having had a fair amount of experience in the Cancun and the Mayan Riviera all the way to Tulum, I write this review with that experience in mind. While by facilities alone, I would call the Grand Oasis Palm only a three star, there were five star elements to it.
The staff at this resort were amazing, going out of their way to make us feel warmly welcomed and saw to any needs we had with the highest level of professionalism. This posi[... read more]tive comment applies to all the staff from the beach bar, reception, serving staff and others who worked tirelessly, doing their best to make the vacationing experience as best possible.
As for food service, I will only comment on the buffet that had a large selection of well prepared and presented dishes to choose from. The soups were outstanding and the variety of sushi was surprisingly good.
The facility is a little weathered overall where it is overdue for renovations. The resort needs a lobby bar. Once the rain pounds, there is only one other day time bar on the Oasis side to get beverages (other than table service at the restaurants). The sports bar is limited in both size and drink selection. The busy beach bar is wonderful, but it definitely needs an additional bartender, or two.
I do recommend the Grand Oasis Palm in Cancun as a budget friendly, all inclusive resort but I do see this facility as a three star with five star staff and four star buffet, therefore overall, I selected four stars for this review.

Villas Coral Huatulco: Good resort
Nice hotel, waterfront location, although not a beach front. Arrocito beach is just 5 min. walking distance. Good breakfasts. Afternoon/evening meals ($) are average.
Attentive staff, although hard to communicate in English. The hotel is about 4.5 km from the town. Some issues re: money exchange (just cash exchange, you can’t buy Mexican peso on your card.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Great resort
This was our 9th trip to Iberostar Selection Playa Mita and we have been to PV 26 times so far.
For money spent this resort is excellent value. It isn't our favorite out of all of hem but 2nd in line and significantly less money comparatively.
The buffet is always excellent with lots of fresh choices and on staff chefs to make you up something special. There is also someone coming through the dining area with a cart of special treats.
The a la carte restaurants also have good food and are e[... read more]asy to get into.
In the 12 years we have been going there it if course has more wear and tear and needs some TLC in spots but overall still great.
This year we found it too busy and more kids then previous and most of the staff has slipped in their service because of being overworked but there are still some stand out workers. The beach is long and beautiful and so much fun to swim and boogie board but during full moons the water is high so your not getting out there until close to noon. They definitely need to replace the beach loungers and umbrellas but they are always available.
When we have come with family the grandkids enjoyed the kids camp. All in all I would still say 4//5 for sure and possibly 5/5 if your coming with children and not going to an adult's only.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Paradise!
This resort was amazing, the rooms are bright and spacious and the cleanest I have ever seen. If you are hungry there are many many food options, if you are thirsty there is a bar withing 50 strides all staffed with some of the nicest employees I have ever met. The 13 pools are spotless, the washrooms are plentiful and clean.....truly there was not anything I did not enjoy and am looking forward to going back in 2 years.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Great location, very good service
Fantastic hotel in an amazing location – the perfect mix of city and beach! Everything is spotless and beautifully maintained. The beach is gorgeous with soft white sand and a lovely sandy bottom in the sea. Service throughout the resort is excellent, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The only area that could use a bit of improvement is the food. The buffet offers international cuisine, but we sometimes struggled to find really tasty options. On the bright side, the bar and g[... read more]rill by the main pool completely makes up for it – fresh, delicious food and absolutely wonderful staff! The drinks are always fresh, and the cocktails are strong enough to satisfy even the pickiest guest.
Room service is exceptional, with cleaning available twice a day if you want it. The minibar is generously stocked with a great variety of drinks, which was a nice touch.
Overall, we’ve found another great place we’ll happily return to again and again in the future!

Impression Moxche by Secrets: The trip of a lifetime
This resort truly went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely cared for and celebrated. We were visiting for a special occasion, and the staff made it their personal mission to turn it into an unforgettable experience. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made us feel so special every single day of our stay.
The scenic views were absolutely breathtaking – the kind that make you stop and just take it all in. Ever[... read more]y angle of the resort felt like a postcard. Our room was stunning, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The complimentary upgrade was an unexpected and incredibly generous surprise that elevated our stay to an entirely new level of luxury.
The food was outstanding. Every meal felt like a fine dining experience, with exceptional flavors, presentation, and service. It was clear that excellence is a standard here, not an exception. From breakfast to dinner, everything exceeded expectations.
What truly sets this resort apart, though, is the staff. They are the heart and soul of the experience. Every interaction was filled with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine desire to make our stay perfect. They anticipated our needs, remembered small details, and made us feel like more than just guests – we felt valued and celebrated.
This resort defines true luxury, not just through its beautiful surroundings and elegant accommodations, but through the unforgettable experiences it creates. If you are looking for a destination that delivers romance, relaxation, exceptional service, and memories that will last a lifetime, look no further. We cannot recommend this place enough to anyone seeking the trip of a lifetime.
Went as a family of 4 with two elementary aged kids. Non-drinkers/partiers; mainly focused on kid-friendly activities, exercising, and relaxing.
- Buffet food was very good with plenty of variety and options
- Concierge was super helpful when we had requests (we requested blankets so one of our kids could sleep on the couch & they took it 1 step further & provided a full extra trundle bed)
- Beach was nice and well maintained. Liked that there was a bar, food station, and bathrooms right [... read more]there
- Nothing felt overly crowded. Busy and lively but not crowded
- Check in/out was simple
- Lots of activities for all ages
- Gym was large and had plenty of machines as well as additional studios & free weights upstairs
- Also lots of tennis courts and pickle ball. We had no issue booking a court, plenty of free space
- Grounds were well kept and lovely
- Appreciated all the drink stations with various juices and water with fruit in them to add a bit of flavour
- Coffee shop was open 24/7 and had nice ambiance
- Nightly entertainment was pretty top notch!
- There was a live band playing covers of popular songs at the pool on Friday and they were really awesome & talented.
- You could wander to the lindo & del mar sides. Lindo was also very nice. Del mar was more sprawling but there's parrots and flamingos to check out if you head that direction
- Generally large grounds which was nice, enough room to go for a long walk.
- Star camp seemed cool but our kids were not fans unfortunately; they went for a few hours one day and declared "never again". Other kids seemed to like it.
- This is our fourth time visiting Mexico. We have done a different resort every time. This has been the best experience for us.
Small things I noticed that were less-good but not deal breakers/were just a passing "hm this could have been better" thoughts.
- Someone else's hair on our room's shower wall when we first arrived = cleaner missed it? Not a big deal but if you're a stickler for cleanliness maybe you would notice and care a lot.
- At the breakfast buffet they had pre-made options for omlettes etc but they were often a bit cold. They also had folks making fresh omlettes & pancakes to order so if you want something hot I'd recommend that. There was rarely any line for this either!
- Some of the people who worked there seemed pretty "blah" about their job haha. They were always polite but you could see they were also a bit over it all. We tried to be nice & tip etc and again this wasn't a big deal. I'm sure it's a very hard job as well. But if you are a stickler for perfect service and having people fake it until they make it maybe it would bother you.
- Coatis are a bit annoying sometimes, I saw one jump on a guy and steal food right out of his hand. They were also frequently inside the garbage cans so i was a bit wary when using the cans in case one jumped out at me (never happened phew). I'd just say to be aware when you have food and they are around. Don't leave food unattended. They are cute though and fun for the kids.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Bahia Principe Grand Tulum - Great Spot, 4 Stars
My family enjoyed a one-week vacation over New Years 2025/26. Overall, the hotel, service level, and grounds/beach/pool are very good.
Pros:
The beach is fantastic. It is a nice strip of beach several hundred meters long that is all walkable. There is a bar/restaurant along with many rentals along the strip.
Snorkeling and SUP boarding was common there (bring your own equipment). The snorkeling from shore was very good with lots of marine life to see (fish, rays).
Our room was only 50 me[... read more]ters from the beach. There were plenty of parasols and beach chairs for everyone.
The pool areas were fantastic, and daily entertainment was organized and busy.
The New Year's celebration was incredible. It was well organized with lots of champagne flowing.
Selection of premium liquor was good. Lineups for drinks during the day was reasonable.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Cons:
The a-la-carte restaurants were all booked up after the second day. We were able to get into 2 for the week as a family of five but some people we spoke to were not able to book any restaurants.
The buffet was okay but got tiresome by week's end.
There were many "extra" costs including a hotel tax we found out about upon arrival. Some of the extras were more Mexico related than hotel specific (for example, the "exit" tax, the cost to see Tulum was exorbitant and the process was painful). The local transit was very reasonable at 20 pesos each way per person for the 20-minute drive to Tulum.
Some of the costs at the hotel were a little out of hand (examples: exchange rates, CAD 19 for a bag of chips, USD 233 for golf). It is advisable to get Pesos in smaller denominations before arriving in Mexico. Tipping was common and appeared to be expected (20 pesos is less than CAD 2).
The rooms had a weird layout with separate shower and toilet area and a sink in the main room. We had three in one room, so it made it a little dysfunctional at times.
The hotel is a long drive from Cancun airport to the hotel (~1.5 hours)

Hilton Cancun: Great Resoort
The Hilton Cancun is a beautiful resort located right on the beach. The food was good overall, and the service was excellent—I barely had to leave my chair, only getting up once or twice to grab a drink. The beach did have some seaweed at the start of our stay, but it was cleaned up toward the end. The pool area is lively, with activities running throughout the day like volleyball and water aerobics, which kept things fun and energetic. We upgraded to a ocean view room which was totally worth it[... read more].

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Stay At Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta
Stayed at the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta from January 9th-16th in an Altitude Club Oceanview Double room.
The hotel itself is nice and the grounds are well maintained and easy to navigate.
There are multiple pools including an adults only pool.
Long stretch of walkable beach in both directions. Only a few KM right into the town of Bucerias.
Pros:
- Most food and drinks were well prepared and tasty.
- Room had an amazing view of the bay.
- Concierge in the Altitude Club were very hel[... read more]pful.
- Most resort staff greeted you with a smile.
- Walking distance by path or beach to Bucerias.
- Free room service with Altitude Club.
Cons:
- Almost impossible to get a lounger by the beach or pools. Towel game is in full effect at this resort with people reserving chairs as early as 4am.
- Mexican a la carte has extremely slow service when we tried to eat there. Ended up leaving without eating there as the food never arrived.
- Buffet, while the food was good, was repetitive and small and had limited options for the amount of guests at the resort.
- Fixtures in room were worn/dated or broken. Handle for the diverter in the shower was missing. Balcony doors did not lock.
- No designated area for Altitude Club guests by the pool or beach like in most resorts.
Regardless of the cons we had a pleasant stay and were able to make the most of it.
It's definitely a good pick if you like to venture off resort and explore the towns.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Amazing resort!
Just as described by my travel agent, Nicolle Kirk, it’s a fully renovated, luxury hotel. We loved our stay here and zero disappointments. Happy we booked the concierge as it helped us to feel extra relaxed. Thanks!
