Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Resort!

This was my second time at the Riu Paradise Island and I will definitely be going back. It is a small resort with all the amenities needed and is easy walking distance to shopping & Atlantis. The RIU is very clean with good food and nice & helpful staff. We did the Grill a la carte which was fantastic and the Japanese which was also very good. The buffet was plentiful with a good variety. Our room was comfy, clean and had a lovely with a great view. Cant wait to go back.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Beautiful place to visit

This is an outdated hotel but it is still a beautiful place to visit. The beaches were clean and charming but unfortunately for us when we went it was very windy which meant that the red flags were up so we were not able to go into the water. The food was good and the view in our room on the 15th floor was a perfect combination of the pool below and the ocean on the right. I would definitely go back with the hopes of a bit better weather.

I traveled to the Riu in the first week on November 2014. I really enjoyed my stay the workers are extremely nice and polite! The nightly entertainment could be improved-not the best for a riu resort. Food was amazing and everything was clean!

Memories Grand Bahama: Great Holiday

Check in was chaotic. 1st room we were given had no patio/balcony or even a window that opened. Paid to upgrade to oceanview balcony. Resort is small compared to past vacations. Food was good. Repetitive, but always something. Tepanyaki was amazing. Drinks fantasic. Beach was the absolute best feature. Aways a chair shortage due to people "reserving". Very short ride to airport. Pool nice. Waterslide not functioning. Staff, absoutely the very best!!! Would return to area, but a different resort. [... read more] Flying Fish restaurant near by is a MUST as is Tony Macaronis at Taino Beach!!!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Stay

The staff are extremely friendly and prompt to answer requests and help whenever asked. The food is good, especially at the a la carte restaurants. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect. The beach and water is beautiful and a short walk to quieter beach areas.

Memories Grand Bahama: 3-star resort, at best

Pros: beautiful beach, steakhouse and Italian restaurants were great, close to airport, proximity to casino was awesome Cons: rooms (especially the one without a balcony) were terrible, food at the buffet was bland (better than Cuba, though), sub-par entertainment except live band on Friday The hotel was okay, but definitely not 4.5 stars according to Sunwing website. I would go if I want a basic vacation - good bang for your buck, as long as you know you're not getting any extra frills.

Breezes Bahamas: bwst vacation ever

On this trip I had such a great time, the pool side games, beach and pool volleyball Climbing wall was excellent...poolside grill and bar wad a treat,as well as the latenite entertainment...The staff from the custodians to the GM was awsome...we loved the friendlyness, of the staff, and the cleaniness of the resort. We had late night walks on the beach and felt safe with the 24 hr security that they had.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Disappointed Bride

My husband and I chose Sandals Royal Bahamian as our resort of choice when we decided to get married on the beach. It was our understanding that Sandals resorts are 5 Star with amazing service and luxurious hotels; and for the amount that you pay to stay here our expectations were high. Upon arrival to Sandals Royal Bahamian we were extremely disappointed. We upgrade [... read more]d and paid extra in order to have the room we selected which was an ocean front view with a private balcony and a fully stocked bar in the room. We were also told that millions of dollars recently went into renovating this part of the resort and they boasted that there was mahogany furniture with marble counter tops etc. What we received was a room you could get at any basic Holiday Inn, we were put in a corner room and did not receive the private balcony we had paid extra for. And to top it all off we looked in the bathroom there was black mold going down the wall. At that point we spoke with management who assured us she would move us to a private balcony room and that we needed to pack our bags and have them ready for 11:00 AM the next morning and to meet her at 1:30 PM to pick up our new room keys. So, the next day we cut our day short to do so. At 1:30 we arrived at the front desk and the manager had done nothing, there was no room move for us at all, even after we spoke with management again we learned she had done absolutely nothing to resolve our concerns. Obviously extremely annoyed that we were lied to and that we wasted our time, we spoke to another manager. We were promised once again that we would be moved to the room we had originally requested. So we went through the whole process over again. We didn’t end up in our new room until 3:00 PM. We get in and they had just moved us to the corner on the other side of the building, with no private balcony and now we had a view of the air conditioning units on the condos next door. At this point I would have rather had the first room; at least I could see the resort, not dirty rooftops! So I rushed downstairs to move back to the old room and they had already given it away. Sick of spending more time speaking to management than enjoying my vacation, we just sucked it up. However, this new room was not cleaned properly or restocked from the last visitors, including the bar which was not replenished (or mini bar for that matter) which we had paid extra for. I requested it via phone call, visit to the front desk and by leaving notes in the room, and it never happened. If we ever needed anything the employees would tell us they would do it and then it would never happen. I also asked that our dinner reservations be switched to our new room number and was told this was done, however every restaurant we went to our reservations were not on the list. I was even yelled at by one hostess who was annoyed that I tried to get into a restaurant without reservations….although I actually did, and had the confirmation paper. It was very disappointing for us that we were completely forgotten about and stuck sub-par rooms in the corners. When we would mention that we had come here to get married, they did not care since there were so many other people there getting married or on their honeymoon. Therefore they were not interested in treating you with any special care whatsoever. The wedding: - We had a wedding planner that we dealt with over the phone who was different from the planner we met on site. The planner on the phone told me that I would have someone there that would help me with anything I needed with my wedding for the whole day. I said we were getting married just the two of us so I would need help tying up my dress and she said I would have someone there to do that for me. She also told me that we would receive a dinner at a specialty restaurant (Gordons on the Pier) the night of our wedding. - When speaking with the onsite planner (who was very nice and just doing her job) had to tell me that if I wanted my dress tied up I had to pay an additional $75.00. And that they do not offer dinners at Gordons unless you pay an additional $140. We were also disappointed to find out that if we wanted our wedding on the dock beside the beach we would have to pay an additional $350. - The nickel and diming was getting ridiculous. At this point I was so disappointed and frustrated with everything that I was in tears…..this is not how you should feel on your wedding at all! Around every corner there was another thing that disappointed me. Sometimes just small things like going to billiard room to find there are only three pool cues, 2 of which were broken, and holes in the walls around the resort that were patched up with paint that doesn’t match the walls. There were times where I was the only person waiting at the bar and it would take 15 minutes to get a drink because the staff was too busy having a good time together. There was actually a moment where a guest got behind the bar and started serving because there wasn’t a staff member in site for well over an hour at the swim up bar! There were also events that were planned that we could take part in and I would show up for them and the playmakers would be nowhere in sight, so I gave up on those. I just feel that Sandals makes a lot of promises and didn’t follow through with any of them. Bahamas was beautiful and we will go back, but I won’t be spending $7,000 at the Royal Bahamian again. I don’t know if this is how all Sandals resorts operate, but as of right now I have a bad taste in my mouth. My family is planning an anniversary trip for my parents and it was going to be at a Sandals Resort and I have since told them to hold off and do some more research first.

Memories Grand Bahama: Terrific Steakhouse

If you can get past the first day things get better. Check-in was horrible! Arrived at 10:30 in the am and no room until 4:45 with no help to actually find your room. Here's the key -go. Our room was fine but friends had no toilet paper and towels even after multiple requests. Resaurants- main buffet Selections. Even though it is very cold inside stay there as service outside was little to none. Prepare to find your own cutlery, napkins and drinks. Food was OK. The Prop Club was great and very c [... read more]lose to the beach. Strongly suggest The Japanese restaurant and the Steakhouse. Staff and food at the Steakhouse was 5 star plus. Staff were very friendly and the activities during the day were good. The night shows leave much to be desired. The resort grounds are kept very clean. The beach is great but good luck finding a chair. Even at low season there were not enough although the Diamond Club had many available but you can't use unless you upgraded to this club. We rented a car twice to explore and snorkel. Deadman's Reef was excellent as was the lunch we got at N & A's. Go there if you are in the area!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Excellent Value

Room was generous, very comfortable beds, superb personable service from EVERYONE whether in the resort, food areas or on the beach, beautiful beach and the food was great quality with an extensive selection to suit every taste. There was a very minor annoyance with the renovation inside the hotel which affected the time and route one had to take to get to places but that will disappear once the reno is complete of course.

Memories Grand Bahama: amazing vacation

The hotel was nice with auto AC. Very clean, very well serviced. Had a room with balcony. Nice view, restaurants were amazing, a LA Carte, the food was delicious, service was excellent. Excellent vacation experience.

Memories Grand Bahama: Ok Resort

The grounds were well looked after, clean and pleasant as were all public areas. Initially we were put in a room with 2 beds vs. 1 king/queen on the 3rd floor. The view was of the roof of an adjoining building. Anyone could walk along the roof and step right onto our balcony. This was our 30th wedding anniversary and we certainly haven't graduated to 2 beds yet! On the 2nd day, we were moved to a room with 1 king bed on the main floor which meant we didn't have a balcony. Bathroom was very small [... read more] with next to no counter space. Shower curtain was a bit dirty so the room had a musty/sour smell. Dining areas were fine, quite clean and buffet had a large variety of food. Biggest issue with food & beverages were that they kept running out of things so you could never count on getting what you wanted all the time. Also, there is a large, fun-looking water slide which was not open at all during out stay. Hotel entertainment/shows were not as good as other shows we've seen but generally they were fine. The beach was nice, beautiful sand and blue water. Could really have had more lounge chairs. I would recommend this resort to people who perhaps have not stayed in 4 or 5-star resorts and so were not expecting a 4 or 5-star resort.

Memories Grand Bahama: Great resort

The hotel was very nice. The staff was amazing. The grounds were well layed out and simply great. The only improvement the resort requires is better nightly entertainment. I understand that it is local but it requires better entertainment. ex. dancing, costumes, maybe impersonators even lip syncing. But over all great time, lots of dancing, sun, beach, great food, water sports, pool activities, casino with an 83% pay back and free booze. Restaurants were great. Sandals Royal Bahamian: Disappointed

Hotel is beautiful but the housekeeping is terrible. Had to ask every day for towels and toiletries. Shampoo and conditioner must be expensive on that island because it is hard to get the staff to provide these basic items. They make your bed and for some unknown reason do not replace towels and as I said toiletries. On some days - even after asking the items never came. Food was the best at Baccarat restaurant but to get a reservation was next to impossible. The good was good at the other place [... read more]s but not what we expected. The pool had 10 floating mats and it was a joke how guests had to hoard it once you got one. It was like winning the lottery if you actually got one. The upkeep of removing dirty glasses and plates was not consistent. Very expensive but not so sure I would drop that kind of money again to go back.

Memories Grand Bahama: Best Resort Ever!!

We have been to many islands but this resort is on the top of our list. We were a group of 8 and everyone loved it! The beach is spectacular, the staff is friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious in all the restaurants and the buffet. We loved having the casino right beside us and the market place across the street. The Prop Club provided great music for dancing as did the courtyard in the centre of the market. We also went to 'fish fry' on Wednesday which was an absolute blast!! We will definitely consider going back to this amazing resort.

Breezes Bahamas: Solid 3 Star

When I do the "all in" trips I look for a beautiful beach and good food which the Breezes had (food was good not great). The decor is date which I don't really care too much about. Rooms were fine by me however my better half complained of bed bugs and no mini fridge or water provided. The service was amazing, really great down to earth workers that did a great job (especially Michelle at pool bar) Overall 6.5 out of 10

Amazing resort .very very good service,clear weather,beach first class,nice restaurants ,steak house was the best,romantic vacation for couple ,clean and nice rooms,we loved coffee bar,everything perfect.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: The beach vacation we were looking for!

We upgraded our room at a cost when we got there because although the room was great, the view was basically of the rooftop below, blah! So we got an ocean view room that, as a room was a bit of a step down but was still pretty good. It has everything you need! The food is fantastic and the staff is pretty good. One thing to prepare yourself for here is the local people on the beach and the taxi drivers out in front of the hotel CONSTANTLY looking for customers. Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing resort

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed in the ocean view suite and the views were spectacular! Our room was beautiful and spacious! The only complaint I have is that there were issues with the hot water tank; however we figured out that if we showered at night we always had hot water, morning so much. The food was fantastic! The Reef Atlantis: The Reef is the Best place overall

Other than the renovations, the resort was excellent and the Reef is by far the best place to stay for our needs. It offer the kitchenette for morning breakfast in the room in privacy until you're ready to face the public.
