Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Lovely resort

Great resort, lots of activities, food was fabulous, staff amazing - it also has a stunning beach with white sand and lots of tables and loungers, umbrellas. Only complaint is that if you are not staying on club side there are limited choices for pools (only two, very small). The one with the swim up bar faces a concrete wall, no view at all.

Riu Palace Peninsula: great resort

hotel is very clean , staff is attentive , professional , and very friendly .l the hotel is along the most beautiful stretch of beach , with a rocky part and sandy part . the negative part i find is the speciality restaurants. the food is not great what so ever . it's best to stick with the buffet , which is excellent , with lots of food choices . the pool grill is closed way too early , sometimes just after 2pm . there also should be a washroom in the pool area , so people don't have to go in [... read more]to the hotel , or get lazy and go in the pool . the stage show entertainment in the evening is good , but , nothing much after that for entertainment . overall it's a very nice resort , great staff , and nice relaxing holiday

Riu Dunamar: Travel during the vid

Rui Dunmar opened it self up to more of latin amirica than in previous times. I was a mice mix of people. The beach was excellent and cleaned of sea weed (sargasus) daily at around 6-7 am. For those who are "pineapple friendly" there is a long stretch of the beach at the end of main beach. The pool bars are nice, how ever make sure to pick a spot and stick with it as it can get crowded/ full (limit is 20 people max). How ever the disco is closed as well as some of the restaurants when i was there. The rooms and enemies are spotless. Expect to spend some cash though as everything is marked up (due to covid and lower than normal attendance). Coco bongo club and synore frog are open so book early.

Resort is very nice and clean. Great public area and lots of places to relax and enjoy the day. Food was very good as well as drinks. Spacious rooms and overall, a great resort. Staff are so friendly and polite.

You won’t need to read another review after this, trust me. Full honesty from a pretty picky person… Just returned from a quick 4 day solo trip here. Overall great. Had an oceanfront suite w jacuzzi on terrace. Rooms are very big, decent shower and the bed, pillows and linens are awesome. I had the best sleeps every night. Cleaning staff- 10/10. The resort is extremely well maintained. I did not hang out around the pools as I’m a beach person BUT I have to say the other reviews are accurate- Brandon Kardashian is freaking hilarious and extremely energetic. If you are a pool person, you’ve been warned, you WILL be entertained. Walking around the resort- for those bringing children: the family section is actually just as awesome as the adults only section. Full of activity but not over the top. The swim up suites look gorgeous as well if you don’t want to spend the extra on an ocean view room. Honestly they’re just as great. Covid protocols- I was actually surprised at how many tourists were adhering to masking recommendations and there are hand sanitizer things everywhere. Very safe for travel. Food- hands DOWN the best breakfast buffet I’ve had at any resort (they serve you you don’t serve yourself due to pandemic of course) and it’s great this way. Lunch buffet at Mar House has just about anything you’d want and it’s good. Nothing spectacular but more than average for sure. There was a blue cheese risotto one day at lunch buffet and it was ON POINT. Better than the Italian resto. Mar House dinner- great. Good seafood and big grilled Caribbean lobsters. Snack room (club members)- great variety of quick sandwiches/bagels/snacks/cakes etc (lemon pies are awesome) and I took something from it daily. Prosciutto Brie arugula sandwiches here are awesome, take 2. Keep in mind should it happen to rain- get to the club room quickly as it’ll be emptied quickly. Italian resto- it’s just ok. Nothing spectacular pretty average esp if you happen to be of Italian descent. Try something else. Steakhouse- awesome decor and atmosphere. The French onion soup is GREAT. Ordered the strip loin…when it came it was this pretty thin dry steak. I was kind of put off. My server took it away and returned with a THICK steak cooked to perfection. And it was delicious. My only question is why that wasn’t brought out the first time. Go eat here it really is good. Service awesome as everywhere else. Great selection of top shelf booze (grey goose, remy etc etc) and more than decent choices of tequilas at most bars. Beach- ok, here we go- you have to keep in mind where this is located. It’s a new development area (45 min from airport and about 25 min from hotel zone) this area of the ocean is deeeeep so you don’t get the more beautiful colours of the water as other areas. Seaweed (early sept) was pretty present and they DO clean the beach. It’s nice but if you’re an ocean person like I am, it wasn’t great for swimming at all. No fault of the resort of course just saying. Spa is a must as well. Very nice. Overall I would def come back here for the warmth of the staff and quality of the rooms. Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Upgrade to Family Selection!! A must

The hotel was beautiful the grounds were very well-kept we upgraded to the family selection which provided access to the all adult side of the resort the TRS coral in my opinion this was a very worthwhile upgrade I’m not sure that we would’ve been completely content without having this extended access. overall this was a lovely resort the service was definitely hit and miss some wonderful service and some not so great attention. Food was also good but not great and was hit and miss. Super clean rooms but spotty service for housekeeping and replenishing towels and toiletries. But very very clean rooms. Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Ya get what ya pay for

The fun team and staff there are great...the food, nit too bad at all. The osso buco is unreal good in the italian resto and Oscar in the buffet is a great person and wonderful "server" The king beds are good, the doubles are not, pretty damn hard for my taste. If you can take a spare sweet pillow then do it, you can get extras of course but theyre all a bit too soft for my liking. I've never been to a Rui and wont likley go back considering what Ive been to in comparision prior bjt again, it was a cheap good enough trip. The entertainment was good and thr kahoot game was fun, I actually won which was odd lol but ya.

NYX Hotel Cancun: Amazing Resort

NYX Hotel was definitely a very nice choice to make as our getaway! The entire Staff are very cordial and make you very comfortable! The COVID protocols are maintained by wearing masks inside and staff wear them the entire time, indoors and out! They do their Buffet by you going up and choose what you want and they serve you. We found that saved on a lot of food going to waste. The food at this Hotel is OUTSTANDING!!

Paradisus Cancun: Most Amazing Resort!

Initial thought while just driving into the resort was “WOW”. The staff is absolutely exceptional and during my 7 day stay, not once did any staff member show a bad attitude. Food is great and the habanero salsa is a must try. The pools are clean and water is fairly warm. The ocean view is something you can’t get tired of and I definitely recommend upgrading to it if you plan on visiting. The hotel facilities are amazing and high class. - The rooms were really plush and AC was cold, you feel premium class - Room food service available order through the TV, late into the night Food was fantastic! Third floor is usually where everyone gathers for the evening and they have a DJ there and usually play music till 12-1. Closes kinda early for those drinkers who prime just at late hours. Service is top notch, the guys really try hard, so be nice and tip. It was great to feel that they service you well without tipping first - something I did not like in my previous stay in Cancun at the Oasis resort. They have a rooftop patio and its so sick, some times foam parties. About COVID - all the staff do a tremendous job of wearing masks, they check your temperatures at restaurants or other public gathering places, there is disinfectant and wash stations throughout. Really good job by the hotel. It’s a mixed story with the tourists, especially at night when they get sauced. Some wear masks others don’t - do your due diligence. It’s hard to enforce so don’t knock the resort management. For testing it cost $160 CAD and the doctor comes to the hotel. Arrange it at the guest service area. Very easy The gym facilities were the seller for me and they are top notch and the trainers amazing. Morning yoga, hit, TRX, boxing, gym classes, beach challenges and activities etc... AAA If you are the type of person who complains for the sake of complaining, stay away! If you lose something and cant find it it’s your fault. Too many times I hear I lost a ring in the room, sunglasses, phone, boom box. C’mon people!!! Lock your shit in a safe, keep your valuables away, and don’t get drunk. There was a case where a worker left with a persons shoes and phone but security got it resolved. Always talk to your neighbours and keep watch, the tourists can steal too... Word of advice, leave your Gucci and other designer stuff at home. Here’s some suggestions to help you determine if this resort is for you - This is not a quiet resort. Be prepared for music, loud and lots of it. - Crowd is mixed, mostly saw couples, some solo. Crowd ranging from young, middle age and not that many elderly (few). - Service is awesome by the staff - It’s not a big grounds resort so don’t expect it to cover lots of ground. - It’s the best hotel within a good radius no doubt, I walked to check. - amazing beach time - top class gym facilities - Service desk sometimes gets overwhelmed, time your visits not during peak hours Lastly, trip advisor staff did an outstanding job of preparing me for the trip. Kudos!!

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Not a Family Resort

We as a family struggled alot with this hotel. No activities, pool area, for childern, staff are not welcoming for families and restaurants are not well equipped for childern, we had to wait for 40 minutes for high chair for our toddler.

Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort and Spa: Now Emerald resort Cancun

Ground area is wonderful, beaches are fantastic, service is excellent, transportation is pretty good, staff is friendly, the weather was perfect. There might be some noisy neighbours in connected rooms but it’s just life ... ?!

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Amazing!

We had an amazing time staying! The hotel decor is beautiful, the service provided was the highlight of the trip. Roberto from concierge was super helpful and very kind! The food was very good at all 5 restaurants, the lobby bar and piano bar were great as well with wonderful service. Overall we had one of our best experiences staying at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres!

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Great Small-Medium Resort

This hotel is off the main strip, which may or may not be to peoples preferences. It's a small-medium sized hotel. We checked in at night so its hard to get a real sense of the place but the following morning and of course over the length of our vacation we got to know it well. The food is good- they have theme nights for dinner and the Mexican night everyone loved. There are flexible hours for all meal times and something for everyone. The staff is friendly. The main pool is clean and we brought two 5 years olds (my son and his cousin) who had a hard time choosing between the pool, the ocean and the water park each day. The beach isn't huge but just fine for the size of the resort and they look after it by grooming the sand etc. daily. The rooms and grounds are clean and tidy. One thing to note apparently its not a well known location for North Americans. It seems more well known by South Americans. Just a point of interest- we had a good experience and my wife would like to rebook again next year. They have modest nightly entertainment as well which my family enjoyed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone not looking to book at a huge resort but still looking for all the basics. Even if we didn't bring kids we would still go back- its a relaxing destination. If you have kids all the better- between al the water based options, the kids club and the entertainment staff the kids went to bed exhausted each night.

Grand Sens Cancun: 4 Star Resort Trying to Give a 5 Star Stay but Only Delivering a 3/3.5 Star Experience

To sum it up, NOISE NOISE NOISE. This hotel is LOUD. The hotel has a U-shape where the middle of the U is the main pool. Most of the rooms face this courtyard/pool. The dance music starts here at noon and is way too loud and goes all afternoon. Forget going for an afternoon siesta or sleeping in from a late night. It's too much. Coupled with the design of the interior of the hotel - beautiful finishings but it amplifies and transmits all the non-music noise. Partiers coming home late drunk s [... read more]houting in the hallways? Yes. (avoid rooms close to the elevators). Cleaners talking about their day outside your room at 8am? Yes. Doors slamming? Yes. Furniture being moved for cleaning causing a scrapping sound? Yes. (Pro tip - invest in some furniture socks). An loud click when your neighbor's door closes. Yes. Bring earplugs. I use sleeping pills and I was still awoken many times. It really impacts your stay negatively when everyone is grumpy because they slept so poorly. (Tip - ask for a lagoon view room, on a higher floor away from the elevators). We tried to move rooms twice and only accommodated once due to the noise. My spouse mentioned how she looked forward to returning to the peace and quiet of home. Without realizing what she said, I reminded her how we live downtown in a loud apartment on a major road of a major city. We came here for quiet and didn't get it. It's like the hotel can't decide what demographic it's going after. It was split almost 1/3 partier age, 1/3 middle age, 1/3 seniors. If you look past the noise this hotel has a lot good going for it. As mentioned, the hotel is beautiful. The beach is great. The shows were THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN. I'm not big on resort entertainment, but WOW, these guys did a great job. They hired professional dancers that are so athletic you will be embarrassed to not tip. The Burlesque show was hands down amazing, with some magic and comedy. They also include an evening drinking on the pirate ship (basically a rave on the water). The food experience was variable. The seafood restaurant was incredible. They also offered the same 4 course meal at lunch which was fantastic. You can goto as many ala carts as you like which is great. Minor issue - they have gotten rid of the reservation system, so it's first come first serve. That leads to a lot of waiting, then waiting for your food. Maybe bring back that reservation system. Group seatings are difficult and in the White Box, impossible. They refused to seat 6 of us together. I couldn't believe it. The Japanese restaurant has amazing food, but half of it is in the beautiful glass bar, so they crank up the music and you have to speak over the music to have a conversation. Make sure you get seated inside the restaurant proper if you are not into that sort of thing. The sister resort is right next door which you can attend during the day. However, they have exactly the same restaurants so forget about experiencing variety that way. The air-conditioner worked great in both rooms. Beds were comfy and rooms nicely appointed. The staff by and large were great. Lack of quiet pool was a problem. They have this really secluded second floor pool that is tiny and gorgeous, but here too they ruin it with noise. Even on the beach you have to go some distance from the hotel to get some quiet. I actually found it quieter next door at the family resort with all the kids screaming and running around.

NYX Hotel Cancun: Our 4th visit to NYX Cancun - Best yet!

My wife and I just returned from a fantastic 1 week all inclusive stay at the NYX This was our fourth annual spring break visit and I'm happy to report it was our best ever! We appreciate the classy yet casual vibe of this small resort, the delicious food, and friendly attentive service. It is perfect for the kind of beach vacation we prefer - total relaxation! On arrival at 8pm Sunday we were assigned a master suite on the 1st floor of building 5 - right over the pool bar. The same room w [... read more]as initially given to us last year and we knew from experience it would be too noisy for us on DJ nights. We immediately requested a change and while the front desk couldn't accommodate us that night, we were able to move to the 4th floor ( as requested in our reservation) in the same building the next morning. This was a much better room for us but still a bit loud in the evening as the DJ plays until 10. If you are early to bed early to rise like us you might want to request an upper floor in building 7 or 8 if you have ocean front. These are quietest. Aside from that small inconvenience our vacation was perfect! We rented a cabana about half of our beach days, and had fantastic service. They are well worth the CAD $20 per day. New this year was the cabanas have moved north from in front of the Deck restaurant to just past the life guard tower. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts on the lagoon balcony, lunches at the Deck beachfront restaurant, and dinners in the Italian or at the Deck. All were delicious with a variety of themed a la carte choices. My personal favorite was the grilled salmon at lunch. For us, the international clientele make for a vibrant experience. Guests were about half from US and Canada and half from around the globe.While it is more of an adult resort, there were young families, some small groups of spring breakers, and couples of all ages. A great mix. I want to take a moment to recognize some of the fantastic employees at the NYX - they are why we return. It is really great to see many who have been with the resort for a long time. This tells me management is treating employees well, and it is a good place to work!

Occidental Tucancun: Great location with beautiful views!

Great staff, rooms was spacious with an amazing view. Food was good, the Italian restaurant was very good. Location is great, we felt safe to walk down the street to both of the malls. Beach was breath taking- loved sitting out there, there were alway chairs at the beach- even when the chairs around the pools were all occupied. We did the excursion to Cobo and Talum, with the visit to the Myan village and cenote, which was well worth the money. Only complaint I had was the time we travelle [... read more]d was two weeks before March break and the teens had begun to travel, which made the halls at night a little loud. Would stay again, just maybe not this time of year.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Resort was great, very new and excellent food

Resort was great, staff were excellent super friendly, only thing we had a swim out in the circular part and trip central advertised it as ocean view, we had zero ocean view, as the big round pool was in front also large greenery directly in front of our swim out 10' high, so not even a glimpse of ocean view that we had paid extra for. Restaurants were excellent, bars had top premium liquors just had to ask for them. Resort is very relaxing and not overcrowded at all. Beach sand was so soft, no  [... read more]shells or rocks, only thing it was fairly windy there and the ocean was always yellow or red flagged, lots of seaweed also washes up on shore, doesn't look great but perfectly fine. Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: 4 star experience

The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. Food is just okay. A la carte were disappointing. Service was good. Rooms well maintained. Service around the pool was not consistent. If you have been to a riu palace before it is identical therefore if your looking for something new then I would choose another resort.

Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort and Spa: Excellent First Experience

From the moment we left Ottawa to our arrival in Cancun we enjoyed every minute. My friend and I travelled together for the first time alone and it was such a fun and stress-free experience. We loved the service at New Emerald Resort and the staff were exceptional. The property was clean and the service by the pools was great. We loved our drinks and the fluffy pool towels. The nightly shows were fun to watch. We would love to come back once again.
