Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Misleading - not 4.5 star

We booked our first Christmas trip and paid a a lot for this hotel. I have never written a review and have been to Mexico 7 times (I’ve stayed at both 4 and 5 star). The hotel looks nice but they can’t seem to make things work... the buffet is what you would expect from most resorts but with less selection.The restaurants and bars were very hard to find within the hotel (never enough bartenders or servers) and the food was not great in any of them. The front desk was not helpful with any questions we had and one of the waiters took 50 pesos from me when I asked him to make change. There always seemed to be line ups at the buffet and restaurants even though there were always empty tables. If I didn’t ask for Absolute or Smirnoff vodka I would get some horrid tequila tasting rot gut... and even when I did ask for better vodka I would receive the bad tequila/vodka (and we were tipping Constantly). The pool doesn’t really get any sun until about 1:00 pm and there is always a struggle to find a chair unless you are up at 6:00 am to snag one. To sum it all Up we chose this resort as it was adult only and we expected decent food and drinks and they simply couldn’t deliver.

Canto Del Sol: Great time!

Bright and family friendly resort with a good food and entertainment. Great location: not too far from the city. Nice and welcoming staff. The condition of the rooms is good but could have some minor renovations and upgrades.

Riu Flamingos: Wonderful resort!

The resort was beautifully kept and the rooms were updated and clean. The restaurants had delicious food with lots of variety. They could use more servers as you had to wait long for drinks and food. The beach was gorgeous with lovely palm trees providing plentiful shade.

Riu Flamingos: Great resort!

My family of 6 and my parents enjoyed a week at the RIU Jalisco. The resort is beautiful with immaculate grounds and the rooms are well kept. The lobby could be updated but that really didn’t matter much. The buffets and a la carte restaurants had great food. They could really use a more casual beach grill that allowed beach attire. Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great resort!!

Grounds are absolutely beautiful! Perfect size for us. Rooms could use a bit of TLC. That’s my only complaint. Steak house is amazing and all the staff went above and beyond. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We had a great time.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Unforgettable xmas vacation

The resort was amazing so many activities for the whole family and well looked after on a daily basis. The food was plentiful and so many different options.loved the omelette station for breakfast and the Italian Al a carte was delicious. Beach and pools were amazing and always lots of beach chairs available. My only negative was the beds they were very firm could do with new mattresses as this is what a lot of guests were saying. Samba Vallarta: 3.5 star hotel

You get what you paid. Limited food selection Dirty room Smelly hotel entire Service was ok Beach is close to the hotel 90% is local people Location is ok, you can take buses to go to downtown Not many activities to do

Samba Vallarta: Wonderful place

I like that Samba is a smaller resort. It has a more family feel to it. The grounds & pool area are very well maintained. All the staff go out of their way to accommodate you. There was always a great variety of good food at each meal. You must try the specialty restaurants at least once

Las Palmas by the Sea: Las palmas by the sea

Staff was very friendly. Nice beach area and the pool was great that one was adult only. The extra restaurants had very good choices and the buffet was great. The only disadvantage was the wifi did not reach the upper rooms in the corner. Overall the stay was excellent.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Another sucessful trip to Puerto Vallarta

Just a short note to say we had a great time at the Hilton Puerto Vallarta. Yes, there were a few things that could be better (like most places) such as having a ping pong table and the drinks were a little light on alcohol content BUT these are small things. The Staff are this resorts biggest assets along with the food, nothing was too much trouble, service was great and the restaurants were great. We like Puerto Vallarta as a place to holiday in, we enjoy walking the historic streets of the to [... read more]wn and exploring all the nooks and crannies it presents. Getting around on public transport is great and this hotel is well located for taking part in our favorite holiday activities.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Exactly what we expected

I always read reviews before a trip so we are well informed and prepared. The resort was pretty much expected but we did upgrade our room a day after arriving. The supersaver room is super small with no balcony. We moved to building one which is the perfect location. No extras like blow dryers and ironing boards and an iron have to be requested. Resort was clean and was our room and the food in all the restaurants was super good. Always a lot of selection and tastey. I don't think we will return because it's just a busier beach than we prefer and the loungers are not at all comfortable. It will be interesting to see what the two new resorts will be like. We felt safe walking around town and in the area.

Tropicana Hotel: Better then expected

After staying over 30 times in all inclusive resorts in hotel zone our stay in Tropicana was a nice break to enjoy the old town area ,the atmosphere ,food, etc ., Hotel was just great....nice room. excellent view , bed good , a/c excellent, nice towels and facecloth's, hair dryer... Riu Palace Pacifico: Speciality restaurant food quality poor

Pro - Very nice clean long walkable beach. Resort and area is very clean, friendly people. Con - Could be long wait for Speciality restaurants as they don't require booking. Food quality is very poor as they keep recycling precooked food. ** If two single beds are required make sure to ask at time of the booking

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Awesome Punta Mita Resort

We stayed at Iberostar Selection Punta Mita resort Dec 13 to 22, 2019. The resort was wonderful with great service, immaculate, and friendly staff. We loved the Japanese restaurant which had a great show by our chef. Staff provide great service at restaurants, pool, and bars. Servers Hugo, Jessy, Andrea, Elvina provided exceptional service. Every night the maid provided turn down service in our room and new towel art on our bed.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Amazing Resort

Wonderful food and beach. Friendly people around us and colorful culture. Good arrangement for the transportation and management of hotel. Convenient facility and interesting and funny activities with friendly staff.

Crown Paradise Club: Excellent Location

We paid $779 per person taxes in and arrived December 8-15. 5 minute walk to the Marina Terminal if you are booking any excursions. Casino, grocery store and mall within walking distance. Room was spacious with large closet, drawers and fridge. Bathroom had large shower with lots of hot water. All staff were friendly and helpful. The alacarte restaurants were excellent with great food and staff. The public washrooms could use a lilttle more attention as there are so many people using them. The pools were great. Large jacuzzi was warm with jets but by the end of the day, it was murky - pristine the next day. All in all I thought this was a great resort and I have stayed in many in Puerto Vallarta. I would definitely go back.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Good family resort

We had a good experience with our family at the Grand Palladium Vallarta. The weather in early December was amazing and we really enjoyed the pools and beach. However the service side needs some improvement, including the front desk organization (i.e. wrong rooms being assigned, extra charges added, etc.) Eventually all were sorted out but it required too much follow up from the visitors to get accomplished. Grand Palladium Vallarta: It was an amazing experience

The hotel was beautiful. The entretaiment excellent The services very food The people working at the hotel was very pleasant. Amazing experience.li recommended for families with young children as adults. It is very good for all ages

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: fantastic resort

Hotel is old but fully upgraded with great shower facilities in each room.Guests must expect a short walk across to the Canto del Sol for great pool,food and the beach.Very easy.Staff is unbelievably helpful and happy to look after you.Recommend the steak seafood restaurant as I booked Twice .Wonderful.Location of hotel is great as only 10 pesos on bus to downtown a short 10 to 15 minute ride.On main street out front you will find Blake's Sports Bar with great food and all the hockey,football an [... read more]d sport u wish to watch.Also here you will find great live music 3 Days of the week and I mean GREAT MUSIC.The new owner a Winnipeg girl Meaghan treats you like gold.Great Hotel and location

Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: Stunning views and exceptional service

We loved the fact that we had an ocean view practically from anywhere we were on the resort, and the view from the balcony was spectacular. The sunsets were incredible as the name of the resort would suggest. The food was great at both the outdoor and indoor restaurants. The menus changed every day at both so there was enough variety and everything we had was excellent. My husband and I enjoy seafood and there was plenty of it as well as many other options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Most nights there was live music and Mariachis were excellent. We would have liked some form of live music every night, but we still enjoyed ourselves. We were there to relax and weren't looking to party so it suited us fine. We enjoy spending a lot of time at the beach and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed the water, the sand and there were plenty of chairs with shade. We took a 10 minute bus ride into town of Puerto Vallarta. Very easy to get around and found helpful people everywhere, no danger of getting lost. The Malecon and Romantic Zone are definitely worth checking out. We enjoyed walking around, doing some shopping in the flea markets and along the boardwalk, and taking in the culture. We also took an organized tour to San Sebastian into the mountains and really enjoyed it. There was noise from construction at the resort due to additional building that's going up, but it was easy for us to forget about it. Overall, I would highly recommend this beautiful resort.
