Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Fantastic Family Vacation

My husband and I took our two kids (ages 14-12) and we had a fantastic time. Room was clean, service friendly, grounds very well kept, lots of activities, food delicious. Japanese restaurant a must go to. Little disappointed in how rocky the beach area was but great snorkeling.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Great Resort!

We stayed March 9-16 at this newly renovated property and loved it. Things that set this resort above most that we have stayed at were the location and the wonderful staff. First, Akumal bay is stunning, and offers some of the best snorkelling anywhere in the Caribbean. The hotel is stretched out along the beach so that each room has a beautiful ocean view. Large rooms, all with balconies and a hot tub and since this is a relatively small resort, everything is close by. Overall, totally happy that we chose this resort, and although we have yet to return to the same resort twice, this one might be the one that gets us back.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Beautiful chic modern theme hotel

Very beautiful hotel with very modern theme and furniture. Adults only, very relaxing. Quiet pool area great but activity pool area noisy and busy.Need umbrellas for shade in afternoon around chairs since shade beds limited. Rooms very luxurious but platinum deluxe room not very people friendly ie. Tub, vanity,sinks has no privacy like it is in the middle of the bedroom. No place for toiletries at sink and in shower. Need more towel racks etc. Tub in room not very usable with no privacy and take [... read more]s forever to fill with water and no jets. Would go back just because of all adult and beautiful. Beach was not very usable due to seaweed everywhere preventing walking.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Disappointing - Air Transat rated it a 4* ??

Upon arrival at check-in we were giving keys to our room and told our luggage would be taken shortly. We did not know where to go, and being tired from flight, we felt it was not a welcoming atmosphere. Other resorts welcome you with a special drink, take you to your room along with luggage. We had specified an upper floor with King Size bed. We were giving a very dark room on lower floor. It felt like being in the basement with absolutely no view. We insisted on changing room, then they gave us [... read more] a room on fourth floor with double beds. Better than dark dingy room, but one of the bed, the mattress was in very poor condition. One big dip in middle... Just awful... The grounds were very nice and so were pools. Bar service was very slow, often just one or two bartenders to serve long line-ups. We felt they did it on purpose to save on drinks, as we often just gave up and went without... Food and service at buffet and restaurants were fine. The Italian Restaurant was by far our favorite! The beach front is not nice at all, but we were told that and we expected it. Beach should be rated a 2 star, but would rate the pool area a 5 star if bar service be improved! Overall as it is, I feel it is more like a border line 3 star, but has lots of potential if they would improve service and update mattresses in rooms. Staff were friendly, except for reception upon arrival.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Awesome family resort

Sandos Caracol is an amazing, nature filled resort. The builidings are all small and spread out which gives you more of a feeling of being right in the jungle. The buffets and the a la cartes all have amazing food. It is a very family oriented resort, although my husband and I don't have children we didn't mind at all (there is an "adult only" section but we stayed in the regular section). For children there's a small water park, kids club with activities every day and a children's show every ev [... read more]ening. All the kids at the resort seemed like they were having a fabulous time. For nature-lovers it's a really great spot, there are jungle and mangrove paths everywhere, cenotes to swim in and wild animals (monkeys, coati's, raccoons) right on the property. The downside: because it is an eco resort the rocks haven't been cleared from the water in front of the hotel, getting in and out of the ocean can be tricky without water shoes. I say this is a negative but there is a plus side, because of the rocks there is decent snorkelling right in front of the resort. The night life is pretty much non-existant, there is a nightly show at 8:30 that ends at 9:30, after that you're on your own. Most of the bars close at 11:00pm. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this resort. We went on a few excursions but mostly spent our time wandering the paths on the property, swimming and snorkelling in the ocean and of course eating!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Sun, Serenity, Service!

A lovely resort, serene and well run, only a cart ride away from the beach and the hustle bustle of the Coba, Tuluum and Akumal sections of the Bahia resort. Excellent service, generous drinks, Mimosas and Bloody Marys at breakfast, to sparkling wine at tea time. We felt very pampered.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: All around great resort!!

The rooms were very nice, if you have a chance take the swim out. The food was a excellent addition, never knowing from resort to resort. Must try Japanese restaurant show. Down fall of resort is seaweed on beach.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Best Family Vacation So Far

This was our second time staying at the Grand Sirenis and loved it even better the second time. We brought our children this time for 10 days and got to use so much of the resort to keep our days full and entertaining. The food was outstanding and tons of variety for different likes. All staff were amazing and always friendly. This being our fourth straight year in the Mayan this resort by far had the friendliest staff we have ever encountered. We dealt with trip central and couldn't believe the amazing customer service right from the first click to the phone calls from our advisor to make sure everything was smooth. Transat holidays was our carrier and by far they are the best airline we have ever flown with. The service they give to families with children make a vacation stress free and relaxing in their care. Catalonia Yucatan: Great Resort!!

The resort grounds were beautiful, as was our room. The other 3 couples travelling with us loved their rooms as well. The food and restaurants were very good and better than most others we've been to. Swimming pools were fantastic. The only negative with this resort is the lack of a proper beach, but we knew that before we went, so not going to complain. The staff did their best to accommodate a full house!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Great resort

Super clean, all the staff is great, the property is amazing!!!! The food was ok, over all it was good. It's a huge place, lots of walk, but they also had an great service with shuttle bus, great for family vacation

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Incredible

My wife & I spent our honeymoon at Excellence Riviera Cancun & it did not disappoint! It was truly incredible, from the service, to the restaurant & layout of the resort. We have been down south the past three years always staying at nice resorts of at least 4 stars and above. The Excellence Riviera Cancun is indeed a true 5 star resort for great value. With 10 restaurants the resort boasts a variety of food choice from Indian, Japanese, Mexican and even has a Tapas restaurant. The place never f [... read more]elt crowded and if you wanted to get away to a secluded area, they weren't hard to find. The service was fantastic, with each staff member tending to your needs. My wife and I found that there was always someone cleaning around the resort, the place was extremely clean. To summarize...just go here.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Beautiful Resort but needs time to

This is a Beautiful Resort. The architecture is outstanding. The Rooms, Food and Service are amazing. Not fond of the seaweed in the Ocean. Had a wonderful time here with my husband - February 18 - 25th. I would recommend this resort although I was hoping the Hideaway was further apart from the Royalton Resort. I wanted a little quieter and smaller Resort. Still had a great time! Special Thanks to Sigfriedo, he is a great asset to this Resort!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Fantastic in almost all regards

We loved the service, the food, the staff, the drinks, the snorkeling and the rooms. Our only disappointment was the rocky beach access everything else exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 9.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Had a very nice time Tulum!

Hotel was very Mexican, Oscar was the drink maestro! And Noeli made the best morning coffees! Lots of sun! Great beach and friendly staff, Tulum is a very special place. Kids had lots to do with so many activities close by if that's the type of vacation you're looking for you can't beat the location.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Overall Very Good Resort!

The Grand Sirenis is architecturally stunning! Beautiful grounds and overall pretty clean. We had problems with our room and had to be moved twice so we got off to a bumpy start. We had to push a little to get satisfaction. The resort eventually upgraded us to a suite to compensate. Better for adults than families with young children.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Disappointed

The resort itself was well kept and clean. Language was a barrier. Beach was very small but the pools were lovely. Buffet restaurant was not open all day as most resorts and had to wait to be seated. I liked the size of the resort.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Good overall with a few negatives.

Had a room in the one of the older buildings, it was clean but shows some wear. The built in clothes drawers smelled very bad and the main shower head did not work, the hand wand worked fine though so we used that instead. The staff was very good, Lydia, who cleaned the room was excellent, so was Gama at the swim up bar. I had a problem one night getting a ride the restaurant by the beach for my wife, who has mobility problems, we were told this service would be available, but the fellow on the  [... read more]phone gave me a hard time. She did eventually get the ride though once I insisted. The next day the concierge had the problem resolved, he did a great job, Thanks. I would also say that the variety of food at the buffet was limited and repetitive. It wasn't bad but if you didn't want Mexican or Pizza you were out of luck. The ala carte restaurants were good and so were the pool side grills. The Sushi restaurant and the Brasserie were both on the second floor of a building wich had no elevator and the stairs did not have proper railings, so they were inaccessible to my wife. Overall we liked it but if we were to go back I would want a room in a newer building, and I would want written confirmation regarding services for people with mobility problems. The pools are good but the the beach is not the best, but it sure beats all the snow at home. It's a good place for families, there was a lot of baby strollers around, but not a real wild party place, which was fine for us. Although I sound like a complainer, even to myself, it is a nice resort.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great resort but...

I have been to many Carribean Resorts and this one certainly measured up to the better of them all. HOWEVER... I was very disappointed in the beach - too rocky, slippery rocks and plus plus seaweed which was stinky after a few days and made entry into the water unpleasant. I don't use the pools much but they looked fine to me. The "Eco" aspect was interesting and the on- site trails were fun. The shows were very good and the entertainment good. The food was good and the wedding we attended was l [... read more]ovely and tastefully done. I would recommend this resort BUT Not for the beach.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: great getaway

We loved this resort, stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. The food is plenty, the drinks are yummy and the staff is wonderful. It is a for start which is correct. The only negative would be that excursions and shopping are a bit pricey, but these are outsidef of the resort. The night shows were fun, although are later in the evening at 930.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Job well done. fun resort , beautiful accomodation

Beautiful resort, well laid out, good food, average beach , very nice pool. Close to Playa Del Carmen. Fun bars and ggod variety at buffets. A la cartes were average Will definetly recommend. Blue Bay rocks
