Very desappointed in this Sandal’s resort in particular but also in Sandal’s in general. We selected this resort for what we thought would be a trouble free and relaxing vacation so that we could rest and enjoy ourselves but we’re we wrong.
The first thing we noticed arriving there is that the wifi was down. It stayed down for the entire week. I had set up cameras and various systems at home that I wanted to monitor but couldn’t do it unless I did it over the cell network which I had[... read more] not planned on. Sandal’s with thousands of employees and multiple resorts couldn’t fix an issue that affected all of its resorts.
No wifi, ok. Let’s relax then. Oh wait, the pounding music. You can’t really escape it unless you go to the ‘hidden pool’ ( that’s the real name). It is very small and well hidden, you won’t see a server there. And by the beach? Well you can still hear the music but you need to get up early to ´reserve ´ your spot. 8:00 is too late.
But hey, we came here also for scuba diving. Not a great experience here either unfortunately. Basically, on most of the dives, the guides were with people getting their certification. So, we went to the bottom and waited and waited for the guide to arrive with the students. Then we had to end our dives because the students air supply reached 1000 psi which is to be expected with people who have no experience diving.
The food. The Italian and French restaurants are quite good and the Jerk Shack is also noteworthy. The rest are not at all at the level of a 5 star hotel.
After our second day we complained to the appropriate staff member who took notes. She said someone would contact us in the afternoon. The next day, no one had contacted us. Back to the Customer center, they said they tried to contact us. I responded that there was no note under our door, no message on our room phone. They apologized and said to come back the next morning to talk to the manager. That would be the day of our departure. But, apparently the manager was not present that day.
Our first experience with Sandal’s was at the White House a few years ago which was great. And that is why we returned but needless to say, no more Sandal’s for us. Good luck.
Oh, get ready for a 2 hour drive from the airport.

Ocean Eden Bay: Amazing Resort
There is nothing you can say bad about this resort, we have been travelling 3-4 times a years for 30 years and this was the best resort we have been too. The staff are amazing, if you are lucky enough to meet Kemar you will be treated like royalty at the privilege side, Robert at the swim up is amazing, the group at the swim are all awesome. Not a single employee at this resort is bad. The food is unbelievable, you will not be any travellers “issuesâ€. The beach is gorgeous but you must h[... read more]ave water shoes, honestly a must. We will be back more than once. The only thing I will say is if you do not like the smell of pot, do not go to Jamaica., it is in the air a lot, I don’t like it but it was worth it the resort and people are awesome.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Low 4 stars
Resort location is great, the beach and ocean are amazing. However, the food was disappointed. Lack of selection and they don’t serve much fruits and desserts.
The room has the mold and pee smell. We were upgraded to diamond club but it was not worth for the money that we spent. Our butler was not great. Every morning around 9 am (some days even before 9 am) sent us a message to ask how we doing. Well.., we don’t know because we still in bed.
Overall I will rate 3 stars and will no[... read more]t go back.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Decent resort
Had a great time at this hotel - the food was excellent and the beaches and the staff were fantastic.
Cons:
Usually, 1-5 things may be wrong with your room. The bathroom door didn't lock, the outlets didn't work, and in my parent's room they were missing items such as an iron and bar restocks. Maintenance is definitely required on items but overall the room was clean and comfy.
Besides the Japanese restaurant Zen - all other restaurants are "show up and hope for the best" so there are t[... read more]imes where you may be eating earlier or later then expected, depending on what time you usually eat. They do give priority to whoever has Diamond Club so that's something else to think about.
Overall a great time at Royalton and would definitely try Royalton elsewhere in the Carribean.

Riu Palace Jamaica: Fun resort
We stayed for 1 week in a courtyard room. The service, food, activities and music were all outstanding. The rooms, lobby, grounds and public spaces were sub-par. Very outdated and unappealing, small and crowded, but fun can still be had without the beauty. And everything was clean. The weather was excellent, the beach was adequate.
The grounds and plant life were dull and dry.
Overall we had fun due to the great weather, entertainment and yummy food and drink however we would not return.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great resort - would go back!
This was my 2nd time in Jamaica, and 8th time staying at an all-inclusive resort and I can honestly say it was one of the best resorts I’ve stay at. This review is long but will paint an accurate picture.
Check-in – seamless. There was a bit of a long wait on the airport transfer bus before heading to the resort, but once we got to the resort the check-in was very quick and we were greeted with a welcome drink.
Room – We got what we requested – a beachside ocean view room with a ki[... read more]ng bed near the other couple we were traveling with. We were in Villa 33, which was right by the adult pool and adult beach. The room was beautiful, clean, had a great view, and we had great housekeeping each day. The only issue was that the bathtub was not usable - it leaked water everywhere and made a horrible loud noise when draining that we're sure must have disturbed our neighbours, so we did not use it again.
Pools – The adult pool is open until 10pm so we were able to do some late-night dips after dinner. The main pool is gorgeous, and we never had any trouble finding loungers for all 4 of us. The staff at the swim-up bar were very friendly and made excellent drinks! Around the main pool there are lots of staff around offering to get you drinks so you don’t have to go up to get a drink which is nice.
Beach – What was truly unique about this resort is that you have ocean on both sides of the resort. Just walking to the restaurants/pools, the ocean is within view. A lot of other resorts you have to go to the beach to see the ocean, but here you can enjoy ocean views in many places on the resort. There are also several different beaches, including an adult beach. At the far beach you can rent snorkelling equipment, catamarans, kayaks, etc. Highly recommend the snorkeling! We went snorkeling off resort with 2 different excursions and we saw way more fish and coral on our own beach. We saw lobster, squid, sting rays, and tons of different fish! This was a real highlight for us.
Restaurants – All 4 of us found the food amazing here. For breakfast there are lots of options available so even though it is the same breakfast each day, you can change it up. The omelette and crepe stations are worth a few visits! We often had breakfast at the Blue Lagoon which overlooks the main pool – great view! For lunch we never went to the buffet – we usually went to the jerk huts which had great jerk pork and chicken – or we went to Poseidon for (they have good fish tacos!). Miss Lou’s Bar is a must – they make delicious desserts and specialty coffees. There was always lots of comfortable seating. For dinner, we went to the a la carte restaurants each night. They were all good, but we especially enjoyed the Xaimaica (Jamaican), Bhogali (Indian), and Sumptuori (teppanyaki). We never had to wait very long and if we did have to wait, there was always a bar to grab drinks while we waited. It was nice not having to make reservations.
Entertainment – There is WIFI all over the resort which was very convenient. They have an app that has all the information you need – what day time and night time activities are going on and where, which restaurants are open and their menus, etc. There were lots of activities to join and a show each evening. Most people gathered in the Infinity bar in the evenings. Even though there were lots of people we always found seating.
Services – They were always very quick to deal with any issue that arose. One day the lock on our friend’s door wasn’t working and within 10 minutes security was there and fixed it. And on the last day, our safe was not opening and we needed to get our passports out to check out. We called reception and security was there in 5 minutes and got us into the safe. These things can happen anywhere, and the important thing is that they are on top of it and resolve issues quickly.
Overall, we had an amazing time at this resort. We had been getting nervous after seeing some of the negative reviews, but our experience was nothing but positive all around and we were all very happy we chose to stay here!

Riu Negril: Terrible
This would be my husbands and ours third time to the review in Negril to be honest with you the hotel has gone downhill the food is the same every night it’s terrible you need music on the beach your entertainment staff suck they play the same music on the beach every day the drinks are under par you can only have two cans of beer in your room per day for two days everybody’s looking for tips I think you need to sit down with your staff and and seriously think of some improvements for your h[... read more]otel because it has definitely definitely gone downhill and we will not be returning

Riu Palace Jamaica: COVID
The hotel had hand sanitizers available throughout the resort. Mask were not required, nor worn by anyone, with exception to a few staff kitchen workers. No social distancing was enforced.
The hotel was very clean and staff was always seen cleaning floors, windows of doors, public washrooms, beach chairs and beds.

Ocean Eden Bay: We loved our stay and we loved the resort
We've been to over 15 all inclusive resorts before and each one was special in its way. Ocean Eden Bay scored high on entertainment, service and food. I wish I new the animator's name so I can mention it here because he was amazing. Before the trip I had read reviews about slow service: we've seen none of that. In our experience service was always prompt and the staff were very friendly. We loved the quality and choice of food and also the many "a la carte" options we had for evening dining, no [... read more]reservations needed.
The beach is rather narrow but well maintained. You could see the staff working hard to clear the sea weed. There are corals on the bottom of the sea so water shoes are needed. There were lots of palapas and chairs available any time of the day. I have to say, we were in December, not sure if it's always like that...
We haven't spent much time by the pool so I won't comment on the pool side, other than that it looked gorgeous.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Won’t go back!
This was our 4th and final visit to Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach. Had no air conditioning for 8 days. The phone in our room never worked (really missed it as we were a group of 14). The fire alarms went off every night a few times. They ran out of white wine AND red stripe beer, serving Dominican beer as a substitute. Food was good, but presented poorly. Riu Negril: Terrific Resort
We have usually stayed at the Riu Montego and decided to try the Riu Negril for this vacation. We found the staff very friendly and went over and above to ensure all guests were well taken care of and happy. The room was well maintained and, if there were any issues, these were addressed promptly and there was always follow up to ensure that the issue was addressed to the satisfaction of the guests. The entertainment staff were great and were friendly to the guests which made it an enjoyable [... read more]stay. The grounds and general public areas were well maintained.
Re restaurants, what was especially nice was having a staff meet and greet you at the main entrance of each restaurant with hand sanitizer. Unfortunately there is a 2nd entrance where guests would enter the restaurants (Green Island and Seagull) with no one there to provide the hand sanitizer. We would suggest having a staff member meet guests at this 2nd entrance as guests coming from the beach and pool area may not necessarily wash their hands before going to eat. We have observed some guests picking up food with their hands, despite the tongs or serving utensils provided in abundance.
Although there were lots of variety in the food dishes, we did find some of the dishes (especially stir fry) very salty. As stir fry dishes contain soy sauce which has sufficient sodium, additional salt is not necessary. For guests who have health issues such as high blood pressure, this is an issue which should be addressed. Please note that we have never had this issue at the Riu Montego or Riu Bachata in Dominican Republic.
The resort was beautifully decorated for the upcoming Christmas season. We had a truly wonderful experience there for our anniversary.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Nice resort
This is our second time here. We had a wonderful stay with great weather however compared to last year the service and attention to detail has dramatically decreased. The food was delicious but rarely hot at the a la Carter restaurants. Actually is was cool and not pleasant at times. The entertainment was almost non existent. I probably will not be back. Last year they had a wonderful Xmas party which isn’t on this year for some reason.

Royalton Hideaway Negril: Not as expected
This was not what I expected from a royalton hotel. The grounds were kept very nice but the food was under par. No flavour not hot and only one Al a cart was the place to eat. Dorado. It was the best. For steak seafood and all fish and soups. Enjoyed it there three times in a row after trying all the others. One in particular was the amarillo. The hostess waiting to take the info of room number before entering is miserable beyond. Wouldn’t seat us as party of 4 because only 2 were there at t[... read more]hat moment, while the other 2 were on there way. They showed up 2 min later and were told to go back in line knowing they said we were waiting inside. I literally had to go back to the line and wave my family in. Against the policy rules. So she said. Just rude. Nothing was consistent in the hotel as well. Some staff nice. Some just rude. Won’t ever go back.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Amazing resort! Had a Fantastic Time!
Just back from a fantastic week! Our room was great with an amazing view of the pool and ocean. Entertainment team worked hard all day and night! Had to work a bit to get dinner reservations but managed to secure 6 of them. Food was amazing - no complaints! Looking forward to returning in the future!
My only complaint would be for the resort to do away with reservations for dinner or at least make the process easier.

Riu Reggae: Fun atmosphere!
This was a great budget friendly resort. The pools were well maintained, beach beautifully manicured and the grounds spotless. The resort itself was very clean—albeit a bit outdated. Staff were fabulous and very helpful. Drinks were made with generous servings of alcohol. The food was hit and miss and lacked variety. A lot of times the food was fairly bland/boring. Would describe this resort as being a four star versus a five as it lacks the amenities, consistency and upgrades of a five star.
