Riu Emerald Bay: Wonderful place

Was very impressed how clean the resort was especially the public washrooms. The food fresh and tasty with different flavours. Loved the long walks along the sandy clean beach. Loved the ocean view with balcony’s and spacious room. I only wish they had supplied shower caps and conditioner

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing resort and staff

Lots to do and beautiful beach. Staff was great and on point. Lots of restaurants and bars. Fun to walk around both day and night. I would recommend this resort for families since it’s very kid friendly

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Wonderful week

Catalonia playa maroma in the Mayan. Great week. 8/10! We upgraded to premium level and were very pleased. Location: short bus from cancun airport, smaller resort, long walk from lobby/buffet to beach and other restaurants but very scenic. Beach: amazing! Loads of chair for all. Lots of shade or sun. We had a lot of seagrass but they worked endlessly to keep it cleaned up. Service on beach not so great but always good to keep moving to get yourself a beverage. No shortage of towels daily. Buffet just typical. We ate dinner at Japanese, steak, Mexican and all were good. Not as great of service as beloved. Didn’t do wok which is in Japanese but separate area and sit at grill. Crepe bar excellent. Pizza good. Drinks as usual. Some better liquor. Rooms were fine. Friends had unpleasant odour and requested some assistance so were promptly moved to another room. Other friends had water leakage which was repaired promptly. Alll in all a great week and would definitely recommend. loved the monkeys!

Riu Emerald Bay: Nice resort

This is a very nice large resort. We were impressed with the high level of staffing numbers and how nice they were. Only critique would be I wish they had more seafood ,, ex: shrimp Pools, beach, loungers , drink service was great.

Dreams Huatulco: Bucket list - Dream resort!

This was a 2 week trip for my 86 year old parents. They used to snowbird every winter ( first to Mexico then the US) but things changed and haven’t been able to go anywhere for years. Huatulco was on their bucket list and they’ve been longing for the sun, beach and ocean. I selected Dreams because there is elevators and the resort is located very near the beach. No need for carts to drive you to the beach. They came home having had the best 2 weeks ever. The food was amazing, the ate dinner at one of the restaurants most night but said the buffet was also excellent. Every need was attended to quickly and with kindness I highly recommend staying at this resort.

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: Wonderful vacation at the Fiesta Americana!

We would like to thank all the employees for their kindness and hospitality. There are so many names to remember but some that stood out , Karla who booked our suppers from day to day, Rafael, Alejandro, Jorge, George, who waited on us from all the different restaurants. Great place to stay really clean,staff was friendly. Lots to do if you wanna be active or if you just want to go away to relax!Very family oriented lots of children activities pool slides shows Lots of walking. Food was fantastic! Drinks were also good! The weather was good in early January. Would recommend to others!???????????????

Riu Emerald Bay: Pristine beach & accommodating staff

If you want to avoid heading to a beach destination where there is the potential for algae invading the beach, then you are better served heading to the Pacific side of Mexico. The waves are more present, the water is surprisingly warm during the winter months and you witness spectacular sun sets. Riu Emerald Bay: Great vacation

The transfer was fast and direct to hotel. Check in was organized and fast. Room was ready upon arrival. This hotel is very clean, the buffet has wide selection always restored. The specialty restaurants were all good, favorite was Italian. The steak and salmon are delicious. The grounds are very well kept. The beach is great for walking. I would recommend .

Hyatt Vivid Cancun: Good vacation destination

Hotel was above average, clean, modern updates, variety of specialty restaurants. However the sports bar needs more modern entertainment, rather than Karaoke most nights. Main pool was nice, but families used the main pool rather than the children’s pool as the area was too shaded by tall buildings. Area was often cool and windy. Beach was lovely and well maintained

Catalonia Yucatan: Great time

I went with my grandson to this resort, it is nice enough, cosy enough and very comfortable. The staff of course, are great. We were disappointed with the beach though. It had a lot of limestone and rocks and stones so it made it unable to really swim. You could walk out to your waist and float on top. The amount of fish that you were able to see was wonderful.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Disappointing

Our overall experience in this resort wasn’t great. Night 1 when checking in the lady was super unfriendly. We found blood on our bedsheets and when reported they were very casual about it. This happened two more times (blood on the sheets) and the response was always very casual. The food was terrible and not all the restaurants were even open. This is NOT a luxury resort. Would not go back.

Decameron Isla Coral: Good beach. Terrible food. Friendly staff

We stayed at Decameron Isla Coral on Jan 7 - 14, 2026. The hotel is nice, the rooms and facilities are clean. The staff is friendly and happy to assist. I would call this place a hotel and not a resort. The hotel lacks many of the amenities that other resorts have (a coffee shop, more restaurants, better entertainment, gym, spa, etc.). The rating on Trip Central is 4 stars. I agree with Trip Advisor, it's a 3 star at the most. We were very disappointed with the food at the buffet. It's proba [... read more]bly the worst selection, quality and quantity we have even seen at a Mexican resort. Some of the salads, snacks and desserts were typically set out on small plates that quickly ran out. Most of the time, they were never replaced. There were almost no desserts to speak of. The entertainment at night was karaoke almost every night. The bar is very small with no more than 10-15 tables. We ended up going into town to walk around and eat at the local places. Mostly to eat something tastier or better. The highlight of the place for us was the beach. It's clean and great to swim or board. We also enjoyed the many beach vendors on the beach (if you don't mind that). You could buy fresh seafood or anything for that matter. We really enjoyed going out to town at night and trying different foods or shopping the many stalls or larger markets. The place feels safe and welcoming at any time of the day or night. Overall, we had a good week. I don't think we'll ever return to this place though.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: amazing resort

Everything was very good from start to finish, and the resort itself was absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere, amenities, and overall experience exceeded our expectations, and we were very happy with our stay. A special thank you to Kateryna for helping us choose the resort — her recommendation was perfect, and we truly appreciated her guidance and support throughout the process.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Excellent resort!

The resort is beautiful and the grounds are immaculately maintained. Dining options are excellent and service is very good. The beach is very nice but definitely bring water shoes as there is a lot of sharp coral everywhere. The lobbies are all gorgeous with lots of seating but with the lobby bar being further away, typically in an enclosed space, there is nothing to do in the lobbies. While they can be pretty to look at, they generate a significant amount of white noise, drowning out any music or ambience.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Relaxing Week

More pros here than cons. Spacious room, well stocked fridge, very comfy bed, many english tv channels, clean, nicely furnished balcony in the Premium building. Food is good quality, and bar drinks are well made at most locations through resort. Beautiful lush grounds! Many staff throughout grounds. Spotless and well cared for. Not too big to get around, nice size resort. Beach service was great. Live evening entertainment very enjoyable, like singing or musicians (no Michael Jackson show!). H [... read more]eld outside, no large indoor theatre. Cons. Beach is small, a bit rocky in spots, and narrow. Water is calm but very shallow, less than waist deep so cannot swim but a float can be useful. Snorkeling is ok for beginners, small fishes and a few Rays. Not nearly enough lounge chairs, and packed tight together to get a spot in the sunshine. Must play towel game before 8 am to get a spot you will be happy with. Even Premium building with its private pool had limited loungers. The building can hold almost 200 guests, but only 28 sun loungers are on pool deck, all usually reserved by 8 am. Activities really limited and not always what is listed will happen. Buffets are very small and scattered through resort, not much food choice, and needed more staff to keep up with refilling stations or serving coffee. Dinner reservations are given to members first, so can be hard to get for regular guests. Hint - just take anytime they give you and show up early, they can usually seat you early since many do not show up at their reserved time. Not all food places are open each day, so it can take some extra thought to plan dinners ahead. Pools are tiny, unless you go to sister hotel Suites side, and that pool is loud with activities. The Premium room is worth the upgrade to be able to use that pool. Concierge wanted to sell services. More pros. Service overall was wonderful, friendly happy staff. More inclusive deal adds a few free excursions if you desire to go off resort. Great shower and shampoo/conditioner/gel. Easy walking paths to beach, and carts to ride to Suites lobby, where most restaurants and largest buffet are located. Bathrooms at restaurants are all clean and cared for. 2 theme nights held each week in courtyard are the biggest buffets and well presented. Room service is very good and needed some nights if you cannot get into a restaurant. Heard great things about the spa services. The Mezcal bar has some of the best creative drinks we've ever had! p.s. Air Canada actually served free beer and wine this year on the flights and lots of movies to choose. Summary. Would prefer to see a large central buffet with more selection that is open for all meals. A larger size pool with more loungers available would be great to have. Unfortunaltely the beach won't improve. It was a great week and very relaxing.

The Pyramid Cancun: Good resort

This resort was good. Lots of variety for restaurants and food at all times of day. Lots of beach chairs at the pool but very limited chair options at the beach. Most beach chairs were broken. Some repairs needed at the resort including leaky areas in rooms and showers. Overall enjoyable vacation!

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: This is NOT ADULT ONLY HOTEL

Hotel is absolutely beautiful but that is the only positive aspect the rest is just not acceptable. Very poor service from almost all staff with very few exceptions, same food at the buffet restaurant, uncomfortable beds, no orientation during very long process of check in and out. This hotel is a combination of adults and families with nothing stopping anyone to be wherever they want to be. The service is extremely slow at the bars, reception or pool restaurants. Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Disappointing experience

Hotel staff not friendly and unprofessional selling tactics that makes you want to cringe. The hot tub area only for diamond club. This was our second time and will be the last. Rooms stink of sewage, changed room and smell was less. Room service takes hours, fridge top up for water inconsistent. Overall experience not great, had better experience at Cuba for fraction of the price. Had to stop friends from booking this hotel this week.
