TRS Turquesa: Nice But Won't return

Resort was immaculately manicured and very clean Our room, when we finally got the floor we requested was a beautiful swim up (recommend upgrade up front). Most of the staff was friendly, front desk could've been more helpful. Food was not as good as we had hoped. One of us got food poisoning wasting at least 2 days. Restaurants are not well organized (signage, wait lists, etc.). Beach was nice, but lots of algae. Be weary of Casino offering free chips for a unfamiliar game that seems, and was t [... read more]oo good to be true. Would try another resort if we return to Punta Cana.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Great value for the money

Grounds were immaculate and staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is quite large so be prepared to take extra time to walk to get where you are going or wait for a trolley shuttle. Plenty of activities and things to do throughout the resort. A big too large for my comfort, but most would find it quite acceptable. Large play area for children and family friendly. Only one bar out of many that served premium spirits - Hemingway Bar behind the lobby of the Grand Palladium Bavaro. The  [... read more]other bars served only domestic spirits. Buffet continental restaurants served a wide variety of meals. Vegetables were either prepared in sauces or oil - not to my liking. Fruit is local (melon, pineapple, bananas, etc.) and the same each day. Al a carte restaurants did not accept reservations - huge wait times which was really inconvenient. People started lining up at 5:30 p.m. If you arrived past 6:30 p.m. the expected wait was over two hours -not worth it. Hotel rooms were clean with the exception of low water pressure during peak times. Our room did not have a functioning shower so we had to take baths. Asked to have the shower looked at but it wasn't addressed. Pools were not as clean as they could have been (plastic cups, insects and leaves) - although the general area was well kept and the patio/chairs cleaned each morning. The beach was beautiful, however on this specific property, the area was more narrow than other Punta Cana properties I've been on. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The entertainment staff were a lot of fun and kept people entertained. Overall, a fantastic vacation and despite a few shortcomings, I would recommend this resort.

TRS Turquesa: Very good

Resort was better than most. Grounds were spectacular but outdoor lighting and stairways were poor. Some of the Tourist cars on the grounds drove too fast. Food was very good. Butler service and room service excellent and fast. The staff are top notch.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Fun resort

Friendly staff, awesome jungly grounds, perfect size (not so big you can't find your friends but big enough). Seemed great for families or people travelling without kids. I am only not rating it as excellent because we had some inconveniences the first couple days but once we figured things out and adjusted our expectations, we were very happy. Had to carry our kids around because using a double stroller seemed impossible), you have to purchase decent wine, premium drinks are not included except at one bar, no cocktails at the buffet, the a la carte restaurants only seat at 3 specific times a night so if you show up 10 minutes after that time, you will have to wait an hour and 20 mins till the next seating even if the restaurant is 1/4 full. Once we figured these things out, we had an amazing time. The staff were very friendly, the resort was clean and the grounds were beautiful. The beach was nice. There was always a lounger available and if you want to get away from the crowd, there was a pretty much deserted beach right around the bend. The pools were good and the kids' pool was great! There is even an ocean pool and a little zoo.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: WOW! What a PLEASANT SURPRISE!

Our 2 Sons picked this venue for our 1st Family Reunion and it couldn't have been More Perfect. My wife Sherry and I have been retired for 8 years and have traveled extensively, so we were happy to let the Boys make all the Arrangements and we'd just Show Up not knowing what to expect. After this experience - I think we'll let our Sons make ALL our Travel Arrangements because this was ABSOLUTELY the Best Holiday we have Ever Had. We were 3 Families traveling - 2 couples and and the 3rd Family had 2 little ones aged 2 years old and 6 months old. When we all arrived at the Grand Palladium we were disappointed to find that we were housed in 2 separate buildings so we went to the Front Desk and explained that we were a Canadian Family, that Lives Far Apart in Canada, and we had come to the Palladium resort in Mexico for a Family Reunion so we had hoped to be closer together during our stay at the resort. I can't remember the name of the young man we spoke to at Reception but he was AMAZING and within 24 hours we had 3 Rooms Close together which made our 2 week stay truly Memorable. Our 3 Families are in Total Agreement that we will DEFINITELY Return to this Grand Palladium Resort for our 2nd Annual Family Gathering Next Year and hopefully for many years to come. Throughout our stay we found the Facilities and Amenities to be Excellent and by the end of our 2 weeks we were on a first name basis with many of the staff - ALL of whom contributed to make our 1st Family Reunion a HUGE Success.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Champagne Holiday

Great flight. Thank you Sunwing. Reception was not organized. We booked Lady Hamilton but were dropped off at the Palladium resort and told that we had to check in here. After waiting in a long line up to check in we decided to shuttle ourselves to the Lady Hamilton side and checked in there?? We found this disorganized and disheartening. There were promises to get a more private room etc... as we were celebrating our Champagne anniversary and second visit to the resort. We never heard back from [... read more] anyone at reception and nothing special was done for us. Again very disappointing and did speak with a manager who was only sympathetic but that's all. The room was nice but no privacy as there was a building right across from our balcony. Furniture and décor was new and fresh. Cleaning staff were not efficient at all with never enough towels and days when no cleaning was done or done so late that we never bothered. We did speak to the cleaning manager. The grounds and pools were always kept clean. The entertainment staff is what made our trip memorable. They were always on cue and kept everyone entertained. The shows were amazing at night and we danced on the beach during an amazing bonfire party. Washrooms were kept clean around the resort except the one near the pool bar. Broken porcelain etc... with a busy crowd. Food was great with lots of variety and we always found something good to eat. Gym was fantastic and I (Husband) used it 5 out of 7 days to justify all the food intake. Aside from the reception and Maid service we will be returning to the resort in the summer with our kids as they built a nice water park for them.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Its big!

Arrived 11am cant check into rooms till 3. pretty standard stuff. Had the run of the resort to check things out. Buffet was pretty standard fare from any other resort. Bars were also pretty standard. Service was good by enlarge. We did experience some interesting behavior from the door staff at the specialty restaurants. We got into the Japanese, Brazilian, Mexican, & Steakhouse. We were not able to get into the Italian place as you cant make reservations ( unless you are in the royal suites sec [... read more]tion of the massive compound) we spoke to people who lined up starting at 5:20 for a place that doesn't open till 6, only to be given a vibrating puck to hold to wait their turn -- they waited 2 hours. come on now. We went at 8:45 even, figuring let the dinner crowd subside, but no dice, cant get in. We only got into the steak house ( which is on the same principle -- same door actually) because some friends we met fell ill and gave us their reservation. So, the door staff -- at the Brazilian, wow, that girl hates her job! We went expecting to be put on a wait list, we were given the vibrating puck and provided our room number we asked casually 'how long is the wait?' (it didn't matter we were curious) she snapped '' I don't know, when they are done eating, it will be after that'' wow...alright then!! lol funny. The food was good at the Brazilian, salad bar to start, then they bring a plate with a little rice, mashed potato, 1/4 cob of corn, and a fried plantain. then they bring out skewers of meat, beef, chicken, sausage, pork, vegetables, pineapple. they cut each item from the skewer at your table and move along. when you have had enough, you turn your card from green to red and they will stop. Each item was hot (which was better than lukewarm buffet options) The Mexican, door staff similar. Given the puck, told to wait in the sports bar down the walkway. ( sports bar by the way 24hrs and has quite a bit of food options -- bar food) we had a drink there, 40 mins later went for a stroll, wound up back at the Mexican door figuring it couldn't be much longer. The door staff told us ''you no wait here, I said go to sports bar'' we chuckled and moved on down the path again, 2 mins later the puck was going off. Strange. The food, was good, veggie fajitas yum. Could have made that a whole meal! We each had a beef entrée. both were excellent. Japanese was good, door staff had no issues, seated right away around the periphery. There are cook stations in the middle of the restaurant where if you can get a reservation, you can be entertained while they cook for you. Otherwise you can sit around the perimeter of the restaurant and dine. It is however VERY noisy from the ''show table'' portion of the restaurant. Cooks flashing their spatulas, tapping away on the grill for the show effect. They seemed to be having a blast though. The steak house, door staff a little crusty ( even with our reservation) but the meal, was good. NY strip was cooked well and served with good sides. Now... the rest of the place ... the resort is HUGE. The maps, are well... crude at best with no legend it was a little difficult to orient yourself exactly. It kept things interesting. The place is clean, the housekeeping and bar staff always friendly. The beach was awesome. tons of beach chairs to be had, no need to get up at the crack of dawn to secure yourself a spot. There are lots of vendors on the beach, but they are not too much trouble, and they are just trying to make a living. They will leave you be if you politely say no thank you. Yes, you will see them all week. Take a travel mug if you want to drink, as the juice glasses the drinks are in are small. Good for environment yes, but annoying to keep needing a refill. Ride the train around the resort (many train stops all over the area) it will give you a sense of just how big the place is. (it's good people watching too) The room -- well, we were in building 3000. Simple and standard accommodations. The air conditioning, ice cold. The bathroom, quite odd. Big soaker tub with a large tiled tub surround. Quite a feat to step up and over to get into...the hand held shower on the wall... literally poured all of the tub surround, causing the room to flood. We quickly figured out... you need to stand in the huge tub, take the hand shower down...shower with it that way, no flood issues. The issue is... at 5pm or so, when people come off the beach/pool to shower and prepare for dinner there is no water pressure. So, the diverter would not allow the shower head to run, ( or the toilets to flush or the sink to flow) It was naturally after I was all soaped up that this happened so it was a bit difficult, but again, vacation...not that big of a deal we managed. ( using a glass under the dribbling spout to collect enough to rinse the soap) did it ruin the week? absolutely not -- just be aware. Oh. and last about the room.. the safe. it says push in your 4 digit code... well... they really mean 6 digit code. after trying several times we realized there were 6 spots for numbers, though the instructions are very clear to enter 4 numbers. anyhow... 6 numbers..voila... locky locky... Relax, enjoy.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Good Resort

We had to upgrade our room but got a nice one for minimal cost. The grounds were very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was one pool that needed some attention with tiles missing and overall poor conditiin but it was close to the room. Food was better on some days not all. We really didn't like the hounding from people at kiosks selling their low grade goods. They wouldn't leave us alone...don't know why they are even allowed on the resort!

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Great Resort

This resort has lots to offer... great food, friendly staff, great pool, good beach, good accommodations (not having a great view was the only negative). Their goal to be the most environmentally friendly resort on the Mayan Riviera as well as their social responsibility philosophy are fantastic!

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Amazing resort

Ground are super clean and there are so much things to do. They had an amazing dance troupe showing the evolution of music and dance, and the food was amazing. I definitely plan to go back again, and this will be the place that I am staying.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Grand Palladium delivers

We spent a great 10 days at the Grand Palladium Vallarta. The weather was perfect and the water was warm. All of the staff were very hard working, helpful and friendly. Our room was basic but clean. The food in the buffet was very good. The "a la cartes" were great but some nights we went to the buffet instead.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Grand Palladium Punta Cana

Found resort to be too big. Not very well laid out and confusing to navigate. No activities at the pools during the day. Food was OK. Service was good however. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The villas were good and clean. We simply didn't like how big the resort was. Lots of children and locals on the weekends. The a la carte restaurants were very badly organized. You had to get in line at 5 to 5:30 to make a reservation for that evening. There was no reserving in advance. Many times you [... read more] simply didn't get into the restaurants. Sent 3 days in line for over one hour each day to make reservations. We got in, however, it was a long wait in line. Beach was great!!!!

Grand Palladium Colonial: Great Vacation Destination

Returned to Grand Palladium after a long absence and found everything as nice as we remembered . Rooms are great , Wifi worked well , nice furnishings with good room service . Good food , great surroundings , nice pools and the ocean .

Grand Palladium Kantenah: OMG-spectacular

Resort, Pool, Service, Food were all excellent. The resort is large and takes a bit to get use to. The staff are so friendly always eager to help. I would not go there for the beach, it would probably be a disappointment

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Awesome Resort for Families!

Grand Palladium Vallarta - The resort was great!! We were just there last week (Nov 28th - Dec 5th, 2015) My wife and I were travelling with our 2 year old daughter and our 6 month old daughter. The staff were amazing!! All the staff at the buffet were very attentive to us everytime we came in for breakfast and lunch. We also had exceptional service at the special beach buffets! The pool servers were fantastic! However, the Mexican ala carte staff was a bit snobby. When travelling with a young children it was a bit of an inconvenience after travelling all day. We just hung out in the lobby and had to keep asking the front desk if our room was ready. The young gentleman who brought our bags to our room was Awesome!! Room service food was pretty greasy, no matter what you ordered, but it was ok. All in all, the week was awesome and the staff was fantastic! We would come back for sure!!! Muchos Gracias!!!

Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: Beautiful, comfortable, clean !!!

Last week, we spent a week at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya resort and have nothing but praise! The grounds are beautifully maintained, the rooms are very comfortable and cleaned and maintained superbly. The food is very good/excellent in all the buffet restaurants (although a bit more variety would be appreciated) and the a la carte restaurants offer a lovely experience especially if you are looking for a more private meal to celebrate any occasion. The staff particularly make this Resort a  [... read more]pleasure to stay at. They are attentive, friendly and in our case, truly went out of their way to assist us when our airline representative was never around to help us. I would definitely consider a return visit to this particular resort and it will be my first choice for any of their other locations.

adult pool to small, entertainment was repetitive for people staying 2 weeks. rooms great, balcony too small. restaurants had great choices, great landscape, view over the pool, great having vendors at the resort

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Great stay at this big and amazing resort!

We enjoyed our vacation at this resort, very clean, great service, a great variety of restaurants and buffet. Love the tropical look of the resort. Lots of people on site but found our way to tranquility. It's nice to take the carts to drive us around. Very happy!!!

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Very Good

Open concept, beautiful breathe from the ocean right into the lobby. Nice walk between the units and to the main lobby. Great friendly staff, probably people of that island are the highlight of the trip. The unit walls not well isolated, easy to hear people talking when ur trying to sleep. Cricket sounds at night, eventually u get used to that. Now the food...not bad overall many choices. The desserts are a disaster. Every time in went to get dessert (my reason for having a meal). I kept thinkin [... read more]g whoever is making these desserts should be fired. Sorry harsh but really a waste of flour, sugar and butter. Except one night, happens to be my last, a panacotta dessert....amazing. Ice cream... that chocolate soft ice cream. I couldn't get the first spoon in past my lips and pushed it away along with the cake, pastry....whatever that's suppose to be considered. The ingredients are there, just hire someone who can put it all together right. Sorry harsh but better be truthful since no one is judging. Otherwise it was a nice place to be. Oh the rooms where beautifully decorated.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: A very relaxing stay

The grounds and amenities are fabulous,. Great main pool, nice adult pool too. There are several restaurants, buffet is available for every meal with a good selection for each meal; good full service restaurants as well. The Mexican was our favorite one! Housekeeping services are variable and fairly slow. You need to accept that requests are dealt with on "Jamaican time" (some of the staff actually use this phrase). An couple of examples: We asked for robes that were not in the room as promised, [... read more] we had a knock at the door for delivery at 12:15 am, after we had gone to bed. They ran out of clean towels at the pools a few days and it took quite a while for the staff to get around to bringing more towels. Overall a really good vacation but you need to be patient, be in holiday mode.
