Grand Memories Santa Maria: Wouldn’t return but made the best of it

The hotel was a little run down. But they were renovating the floor I stayed on. Which hopefully will improve the hotel. It took me half of my vacation to get a blanket. And there were roaches in my room and my friends room. The same utensils were used on raw hamburger that was sitting out in the heat with no ice etc, as the utensils used to serve the hamburgers. The cheese on the pizza was rancid and gave me the worst food poisoning. I was violently ill for a day. I will say the beach is go [... read more]rgeous and the staff is delightful. The a la Carte restaurants are a saving grace.

Memories Paraiso: NOT IMPRESSED

BATHROOMS WERE DISGUSTING ALL OVER THE RESORT. OUR ROOM #4136 TOILET LEAKED ALL THE TIME, WE REQUESTED ANOTHER ROOM BUT DIDN'T GET ONE. WE DIDN'T HAVE A COFFEE MAKER FOR 3 DAYS. WE DIDN'T HAVE COFFEE FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS. OUR ROOM FRIDGE WASN'T STOCKED. MOLD ALL OVER THE CEILING FAN AND OTHER AREAS OF THE ROOM. MY ROOM MATE DEVELOPED A NASTY COUGH (PROBABLY BECAUSE WE WERE BREATHING IN MOLD) BUS RIDE WAS AN HOUR AND HALF FROM AIRPORT......TOO LONG

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: was not the best resort

We stayed in block 8 at the Memories Flamenco. The rooms are nice however, don't expect any hot or warm water after 4:30 pm right until morning aprox 6:30 a.m. The hotel ran out of ice everyday so warm alcohol unless you just drink beer, no slushy drinks or Pina Coladas. The grounds are well kept and the staff is great. The beds are as hard as a rock, and I got bites ,but I did not see any mosquitoes, so I'm not sure what they are :/ and I would rather leave it at that.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A bit disappointed

We have been to Cuba 3 times, we are not fussy and recognize that Cuba has its limitations in certain areas. I usually think negative reviews are the people not understanding Cuba. But This hotel felt disjointed. Like there is a management problem and no communication. They ran out of so many things it was laughable yet other resorts did not. For instance no pop at all, no coke, tonic, no 7-up. No mamosa( or sparkling wine) any day. No milk ( cream) for coffee one day. Coke came a few days here [... read more] and there( yah!) Ice was an issue. Some days none, some days a scoop in the morning but none by afternoon. One bar would have it but not another. So you would run around looking for some ice and coke for your rum and waste an hour. They won’t share with each other in different areas (staffs words) long line ups everywhere. Felt like we waited for hours everywhere We went. Ate really late at the Buffet so we wouldn’t have to wait for 45 min for a piece of chicken. Sometimes there was a long line ups outside the buffet just to get in. And al a cartes are now only 2 not 3 and good luck trying to get a time at one of those. We had one request, a king bed when we booked way back in November.....nope! Yet a single lady who booked the week before and didn’t want a king yet got it anyway! They read and honour no requests. People from diamond club got no perks at all. They had no pop or ice either at there special bar ( talked to them and they were very disappointed as well) No washroom anywhere near the beach. The one by the pool was disgusting and the one in the lobby not much better. The pros: beach was best I have ever been on. We walked for hours each direction and absolutely no issues getting a palapa, they are abundant. ..by far the best part of the resort. We had lots of hot water and pressure as well. And our room was ok. Building 10. Just watch your step cause water is dripping all over the hallway floors ( some kind of pipe issue) and it can be dark and slippery. Some very pleasant staff. I will conclude that we just rode it out and and go with the flow. We adjusted ( like eating an hour before the buffet closed) to avoid the heavy crowds. we drank beer ( not my drink of choice) till they ran out of that too...we just went along with it and didn’t let things ruin our vacation. But I will not go back to this resort. There are better organized ones then this.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Mid-Level Travel Experience

I travel at least twice a year. Usually Mexico, Dominican or Costa Rica. I haven't been to Cuba in about 15 years and was quiet disappointed. Travelling to Cuba I knew "Cuba was Cuba" but I did expect a minimum standard. The Great - the beach and water are unmatched most anywhere. It is crystal clear and beautiful white sand. The servers are amazing and do their best to make your experience amazing. They are top notch - friendly, kind, happy and genuine. Same goes for the front desk staff, g [... read more]ardeners and bar tenders. The fresh fruit, veggies and meat directly on the grill is amazing. The omelets in the morning are to die for and that is matched with the fresh bread! The Mediterranean al a carte is amazing! The Bad - Cuba goes without. One day we didn't have milk. For 3 days there was no toilet paper in the general washrooms. One day our towels didn't get changed out due to being out of laundry soap. It wasn't like the staff didn't want to supply these things - they just didn't have them. That was standard for the resorts around us as we would make small talk on our beach walks. The resort is dated and the rooms show it. Again since they don't have a Home Depot down the street they have "made it work" with odd screws, different handles and mixed furniture. Unfortunately for our travel partners they had to change rooms 3 times due to cockroaches, ants and mold in large amounts. This just puts you on high alert. The fitness room was good but 2 of the 3 bikes were broken and 2 out of the 3 treadmills did not power on. However the free weights and machines provided a great workout while on vacation. I loved the vacation for the beach, water, sun, company and the people. However I did miss the little things and especially the "luxuries" that are standard in Mexico or Dominican

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Best beach location

The hotel overall is okay, however, the public bathrooms are in terrible shape. No seats, broken urinals and some were closed.The rooms were spacious and clean, with a stocked fridge and a balcony. The beach is by far the best quality of the area. You can walk for miles in either direction. We never went to the pool. But it looked nice. Lots of activities to join in on.Lots of planned activities for the kids, highly recommended for families. One day there was a live band playing poolside. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who loves the beach, great food and happy staff.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great Resort

The staff were amazing, from Papi Honffi making sure we always had drinks, to Ramon delivering them to us on his head! (Yes, it was something you have to see!!) to the whole Vibe Team making you feel so welcome and keeping the entertainment going. (Pablo really went above and beyond). Right down to the hard working ground crew, this place was a perfect get-a-way!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Excellent

Excellent , staff wonderful, bartenders at pool bar fantastic. Food great. Room nice. but too many sand flies ,we had a great time but too many bites to deal with. Covered from head to toe with flies bites.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

We thought this resort rated fairly well, however there are some areas that require attention. Mostly public washrooms on the site ie: pools, theatre. The mens washroom at the pool was closed the entire week we were there, forcing men to use the womens washroom. Lack of toilet paper at all public washrooms. A little extra care and attention to this would go a long way and would not be difficult to fix. Rooms were clean but dated, and could use some TLC. Dining was good, food was average, however, one must keep in mind the country you are in and the different methods a food prep. Very disappointed that, despite several reminders, we were forgotten on checkout morning and were left scambling at 6am to get our luggage to Grand Memories to meet the airport bus. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Relaxing trip.

Hotel - dated. We purchased the Upgrade room and there was NO door on the bathroom. Bathroom was open concept and where I don’t mind an open shower, the toilet area is a different story. Tip your maid and she will place beer and pop in your fridge. Toilets and bedding are not changed only hung up and made for you. By the end of the week we no longer had a bath mat. The 24 hour Snack bar was great. Hotdogs, burgers, sandwiches and always had fries. Buffet had awesome service for dinner time. Rafael and Yandy are great so if you are lucky enough to sit outside they will refill your cups and will remember you. The pasta line should be two not one. Often waited 30 minutes for pasta in a long line. The stir fry was good. Breakfast we had omelets everyday. We ate at the snack bar for lunch. We did not do any a la Carts. Pool - freezing. Coldest pool I have ever been in except in May in Canada. Seriously. But we always got a chair and didn’t have to go down to the pool to early to do it. Service at the swim up bar was good as well. Beach - after looking at everyone else’s bug bitten legs we didn’t risk a full day at the beach. We did go for long walks and the beach is beautiful. The pizza at the beach is very good. Entertainment - not the greatest. They had karaoke every night and should have kept that going longer than the hour. During the day they would do the same thing everyday and the resort was quiet by 10pm. Flight - AirTransat was great. Flew on time and arrived home early which was nice. Paid for Option Plus and in my opinion it’s worth it. No lines at the airport and food and one alcoholic drink is included. Plus you pre book your seats Tour Operator - Hola Sun. Our on resort rep Enme was wonderful and the most attentive I’ve ever had (we travel once a year and have done Sunwing and Air Transat) would book Hola sun again.

been to this resort many times always great. when you know the workers and management makes your trip feel like your at home.beach is the best in cayo coco by far.all the staff works hard to try to make your stay great. want to thank Ernesto and all his staff thanks for making our vaction great again.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Time!

The resort was very nice and clean. Food was good and drinks were cold. Would go back again! One of the best resorts I’ve been to in Cuba and we go every year. The wine and cheese were our favourite... we enjoyed every night.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort

The beach was amazing, the grounds were well kept and the buildings were all getting a facelift when we were there. Rooms were just basic but nothing wrong with them. The food was good for Cuba. Overall a great trip.

Already recommend to 2 couples. What we like the most was the people working in the resort. They always go that extra mile to help resolve problems. That from our observation because we did not have any problems during our stay. We stay in number 60 Dyane and Michael were super professionals. We are not funs of A LA CARTE restaurants so we did not try them.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Best Vacation Value!

We have just returned from Memories Holguín for the 7th year in a row. We have travelled a lot, annually for at least 25 years, and have found this resort to be very clean, and the staff are amazing... we have made many friends there, including Lazaro, Roberto, Amauris, Freddy, Maury, Orlan, and Luis. The food has always been just fine, and the resort is a nice quiet place to get away... especially now that it is adults-only.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: I’ll never go back

I can’t even believe this resort was rated a 4 plus. We had to move rooms 3 times due to cockroaches , ants , blood stained sheets and mold . ( I have pics to back that up). There was no beach towels.. the couple we went with had same towels all week. Only reason we had new ones is because we had to move rooms . The resort is run down and needs updating. Should be rated a 3 at best .

Rooms are dated but the food the pools the beach and the staff make up for that. Great snorkeling clean calm beach Rooms are dated but clean Only one English Channel on the tv It’s a great place to go and relax

Memories Paraiso: WORST *READ THIS*

I never ever write bad reviews. Cuba is my favourite place on earth. I would never go back to this specific resort though. Awful bed bugs. The customer service “worker” didn’t understand any English and mad ZERO effort to help. Our bed was broken when we got there. Completely broken and sunken in on one side. From 7 am till 530 pm I went down every few hours to check on the status and he kept saying they were working on it. Nothing was done so my wife and I had to sleep side by side on a b [... read more]roken bed filled with bed bugs that bit her alive. We were at bungalow 35 at room 3536. Front desk was super rude and would only point to customer service worker who we both know didn’t help at all. Really made our honey moon suffer. The beach was beautiful and entertainment was okay. I’ve been to Cuba 6 times, to even lower rated resorts than this, and had a much much better time. Wouldn’t even go back for FREE.

You have two options when staying at this resort - focus on all the little details that are wrong; or, you can focus on the beautiful scenery, weather, and wonderful people that are more than ready to serve you. The resort is small, which is helpful for wayfinding. Generally speaking the resort and the rooms are very clean. There is one bathroom that doesn't have toilet seats, but this is common in many countries. You'll always find something to eat, but don't go here if you're looking for a culinary adventure. The a la carte restaurants are nice. During the day, you'll find more than enough activity at the pool to keep you busy and the pools are CLEAN. The best part of the resort are the people. While service can be slow at times, they are keen to provide you with the very best cocktails. If you do visit, look for Pino at the Sports Bar (Route 66) and ask for a PinaColada. Best on the island. The beach is the crown jewel of this resort. You can walk for miles in either direction and it feels very safe to do so. Stunning views.
