Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: HUGE RESORT - with potential... but not quite there

This hotel is an adult only section in a HUGE complex that has over 10,000 people! They call it 5 star luxury, but unfortunately missing the mark on quite a few things..we had a great time, however would only return if found a remarkable deal. The construction is real - and horrible if you have a room in that side, not sure how they can even try to put people there. Our butler JILSIAS - was AMAZING! Food was hit and miss, we dined at rodizio and had the most amazing time we decided to go back, and the next time we walked out half way through. In the lobby RosaMaria was also amazing - however everyone else seemed miserable. Beach is crazy crazy busy, even in the Ambar section - we went once and left at lunch as it was just too crazy for us... however the water and sand were beautiful!

Zoetry Agua Punta Cana: Amazing resort! would return anytime

The resort was the perfect size (less than 100 rooms). You never had to fight for a chair at the beach. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. It was the ultimate relaxation. The place is clean, the rooms are a great size, teh beach is beautiful and the pools are great as well. If you are looking for a place to really relax and chill , it is the place for you. If you are looking for a place to party, it is not the place for you.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Good Resort for Families

Thanks so much for sending us to the Sirenis Cocotal. We really enjoyed ourselves. The resort was very nice and the food was good. The only complaint I had was our room, actually not our room just our bathroom. The room was plain and simple but clean. Our bathroom was extremely dated especially around the tub area. It was actually gross. There was that and black mold all around it and they tried putting caulking over it to cover it. Paradise Playa Dorada: Wonderful resort and beautiful beach!

We went to the Grand Paradise Playa Dorada for a week on December 30th. We were so lucky to be there on New Year's and experience an incredible display of fireworks on the beach to bring in the new year - it was absolutely spectacular! We absolutely loved the beach where we spent most of the time and we loved the restaurant as it was directly on the beach so we could enjoy the view for every meal. We we [... read more]re happy with our room as well but had to request a hair dryer and fridge as they were both missing when we arrived. The areas of improvement would most definitely be the front desk. They so need to improve their customer service (everyone was saying the same thing). Our air transat flight was delayed by 6 hours and we arrived at the hotel at 4:00 a.m. (instead of 9:30 p.m. the previous night) and waited 45 minutes to be served - not sure why we couldn't have just been given our room key as we already missed an evening and were extremely tired. Internet wasn't provided. We paid internet for the first day but it got disconnected and we complained but to no avail-the internet person never seemed to be available. We gave up purchasing it after that and avoided the front desk at all costs as they were not easy to deal with and certainly not friendly! Other than the fireworks, the entertainment could definitely be improved. We met lovely people so we made our own entertainment. All in all, we would recommend this place as a definite 3 star but it wouldn't take much to rate it higher if the front desk were friendlier and entertainment improved as this place is in such a picturesque location! We would definitely go back to Puerto Plata!

Riu Merengue: The whole family had a very good time at this hotel!

Excellent service, very well maintained huge territory, nice beach line, good variety of food! We have been having great time there! Went for 7 days with family ( 2 adults, 2 kids of 5 and 7 years). Very spectacular night shows, well organized mini disco and animation program for kids. The Riu Merengue is joined with Riu Bachata. You can feel free and attend shows at the neighboring hotel too, as well as visit their restaurants and use their beach. There is the cruise ship terminal beside Riu Bachata and it was impressive to watch those huge ships coming to the harbour. The pool at Riu Merengue is not too big but you can always find a spot. And you can always go to Riu Bachata's pool which is bigger. I would definitely suggest going there !! Nice hotel for a good price!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Overall, ok.

It's nice that the resort is small enough that everything is in the centre and easily accessible. Only problem with this though is that non-smokers get nauseated by all the smoking in this central area. Even though the theatre is supposed to be non-smoking, the seats on the exterior are all smoking and the comfort level in the theatre is compromised. The same happens around the pool area. We especially enjoyed the Aquatics Pool show. The rest of the staff was also friendly and accommodating. The three biggest complaints were the following: 1. This is the first hotel/resort ever that we had to pay for the safe. The keyhole is empty and you have to go to reception to "buy" the lock mechanism. This is ridiculous! Just a money-grabbing ploy. Not impressed with this at all. 2. The cleanliness of the rooms left a bit to be desired. While the room was tidied, it never felt clean. The surfaces were sticky, the light switches and door knobs were disgusting. The bathroom mirror was dirty from the previous guests. We arrived on Monday, and the mirror was finally cleaned on Thursday. The sink was wiped down but the faucets were never shiny enough to look clean. With the high turnover of guests at these resorts, more emphasis should be placed on sanitizing on a daily basis. We did like, however, that there was a person stationed at the entrance of the main buffet area with hand sanitizer. 3. The chairs in both the pool area and the theatre were very uncomfortable. We had sore backs by the end of the week.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Very nice resort

Resort is very beautiful. Grounds look like botanical garden. Very nicely maintained. The resort is situated on island. Our transfer from airport was very smooth. The bus was big and comfortable with about 60 min. Ride. Then about 10 min on boat. We had junior suite with ocean and garden view with beautiful balcony. The room is very spacious and bright. Bathroom is nice. No smell in the room or bathroom. A.C works perfectly no noise. No bags or mosquitoes. Resort is large. We preferred walk ever [... read more]ywhere as there is so beautiful and paths have a lot of shade but if we needed ride there is an electric cart that can take us all over the resort. There is a lot of staff with different responsibilities in this resort. Cleaning personal is doing very good job keeping everywhere nice. No shortage towels or toiletries. Mini fridge is stocked daily and bottled water was available. The food in buffet was ok. We are not very picky and that's why we could always find something like fruit or BBQ. I didn't like choice of cooked vegetables there. They were over cooked and very bland. There is also not a lot of fresh veggies. In restaurants the food was better and the staff was very friendly. No waiting for sitting and they always fill your glass. The beach was perfect with a lots of shade and launch chairs. Water is nice and clear and because it's an island there is a different beaches there. Overall it is a very nice resort and I will recommend it. Also thank you to all stuff for doing a very good job. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Holiday!

This was our fifth time at Ambar Blue and we again enjoyed our holiday. The food and of course, the staff were great. Although our room was well situated, it, along with the remainder need of a makeover. While the room was comfortable, and generally, operational, it is clearly time for a major update. We enjoy Ambar Blue and intend to return.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Amazing Hotel!!!!!!!

I highly recommend the Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana. I have traveled previously and I have never rated a hotel before and would give this place a 5 STAR Rating*****. The service was amazing the rooms were beautiful. The food was so good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My sister and I felt very safe. I would go back again. This was my best holiday ever.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Meh

It wasn't a bad hotel but it shouldn't be a part of the Bahia chain. We've been to alot of them and this isn't up to their standards. It was the original hotel from 22 years ago. So very dated hotel. Lock was broken. Bathroom door didn't close at all. A.C. worked well. Stayed in a master suite. 2 rooms attached so we got a living room and s bedroom. 2 washrooms. Clean resort. An hour and 20 mins from the airport. Gross beach. Sand fleas. The circus show one night was amazing. Good was just ok. I [... read more]f your expecting a typical Bahia you'll be disappointed. Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Brand spanking NEW Resort

Our Stay duration 8th Dec - 15th Dec 2018 *The HOTEL is a 1 month old and 50% of the room are not completed, & still under renovation. *STAFF are still under training and more are being hired. There are big language barrier but may be we are Tourists should learn Spanish. * The GROUNDS are still being planted so there are no beautiful plants. There is a bridge & natural swampy meadow that separates the main lobby from the rooms. The water is stagnant and a breeding haven for MOSQUITOES [... read more]. Ocean Blue and Sand: Amazing resort

Resort was wonderful and food were really awesome.We highly recommend it for anyone who want a break from their mundane lifestyle. We would give five 🌟... However avoid the trap of buying a vip card...On the whole, best value for the money we paid..

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: First time in Puerto Plata

Animation staff are the best part of this resort, always happy and smiling and keeping everyone active. Managers at al la cartes are all grumpy,never smiling and make you feel rushed. Food was good for most of them but you always needed to ask to get a refill on wine. Buffet food was always good and fresh but seemed to always be the same every day, they need to have some change and theme nights. Rooms were clean a/c worked good but they are very plain, no chairs in the room, I had to bring on [... read more]e in from balcony. The guys trying to sell timeshares or whatever they called it never give up, asked me almost every day. All in all we had a good week and wasn’t crazy expensive, we would probably go back.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Very nice

Clean, friendly, well staffed resort! Lots of pools to choose from. Nice walk ways around resort. Main buffet eating area is big and bright and very tidy. Food was good but very repetitive! Rooms have nice balconies and seating area. Air conditioning unit in our room was very noisy. Pillows and mattresses not very comfortable at all. Still enjoyed our stay though!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Large but amazing resort

The best part about this resort was the food, the a la carte restaurant amazing food and service. Grounds were very nice and well kept. Room was older looking but very clean. I would definatly recommend 😊

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Declining over past few years

Resort is very nice however over the last few years quality of care has been declining. Rooms are not cleaned in a timely manner. Maybe not enough staff 7am to 4pm out of room and room still not clean. Roaches last year and this year in room. Turn down service on twice in 12 day stay. No umbrella in room requested one 4 times before getting one. Slow in getting drinks at Buffett Plates pile up on tables at buffet. If you put your robes to wash part way through stay you don't get them back. B [... read more]een to resort 6 times no bennefit or upgrade.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Bad resort

The grounds were decent. The pool and beach was clean. The rooms were horrible the walls and doors were filthy not talking about a little dirt, felt like we were staying in an abandoned shack. We had no hot water for 2 days!!! The beds were sooo old u felt every spring. No entertainment on site. The fridge is stocked with 2 water, pop and beer upon arrival and that's it they only supply water after that and that's only because u can't drink the waterEverything advertised is for members only you  [... read more]can up grade unless u become a member. Caribe Deluxe Princess: Amazing Resort, great for families and couples

Our room location was perfect with easy access to the pool, bar and ocean. The resort is on the smaller size with easy access to all the activities, great for families, lots of wildlife to enjoy as well.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful Large Resort

We stayed at this resort for Christmas 2017. It is a HUGE complex. When we booked, we were advised that we would be allowed to visit any of the multiple resorts within this complex. We liked the idea of the variety. Upon arrival, we were advised that there were many places that we could not go. There was a resort in the middle of the complex that looked amazing with a waterpark for the kids and castles; we were not allowed in. And there were guards at all gates making sure of this. The beach im [... read more]mediately in front of our rooms was blocked off and we were not allowed to use it. We needed to walk down the beach to a different area far from our room, and join hundreds of other people there. The area of beach that we were allowed to use was so packed and busy, it was difficult to get a beach chair or a section of sand for the kids to play in. There were multiple swimming pools at our resort, the pools were very nice; but also difficult to get a beach chair unless you grab it before breakfast. Unfortunately, all chairs were reserved with towels, but not even half were actually being sat in by anyone. The food was good - good selection - the a la cartes were definitely worth it. Although it was very difficult to get a reservation for one. Together, the complex is massive. There are multiple golf cart trains that can take you all over the complex; it can be a little confusing as to which one takes you where. I would visit this resort again.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Much better than last year

The hotel grounds are gorgeous. The staff at the front desk need to take some customer service courses. Not impressed. The rooms are a little dated but the bathrooms need renovating. There was tape holding up the mirror, the shower backed up (disgusting), it was very hard to adjust the temperature of the water and was most of the time very hot, and the toilet kept running. The entertainment is 100% better, both in the lobby and by the pool. The food seemed a bit better as well. If the bathrooms were renovated, it would be a 5 star.
