Resonance Blu Varadero: Family Fun
This was our first time to Cuba and this resort exceeded all our expectations. Friendly staff, beautiful beach, excellent pool areas, clean rooms, food took some getting used to but by the third day we ate like kings.
Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: A terrible holiday
I was ill most of the week and blame the food. It was more than disgusting. There was no real juice. Sugar water is not appealing or healthy. The platters were not always refilled and the same tired food appeared for several meals. The yogurt was so runny I couldn't eat it. One might a server dropped a lobster. Two cats were eating it. a half hour later it was picked up. My room was not properly cleaned. Towels were not replaced. One might I had only 1 sheet on my bed This was a horrible trip. I [... read more]
Punta Peninsula Varadero: Good Family Resort
It is very dated but that is common in Cuba. The staff is very good and the ground are well maintained. The white sand beach is very nice. This is a 3 star hotel and the food is 3 star but I would return.
Hotel Bella Costa: Fantastic Time!
Overall this was a great hotel. Rooms were clean and pool areas, restaurants and lobby were well maintained. Staff were friendly and gave great service. The daily and nightly activities were always fun. I would definitely stay here again.
Sol Palmeras: Almost great!
We enjoyed our stay at the Sol Palmeras. Our room was clean and comfortable, the housekeeping was good, we felt safe and the beach was clean with good sand. The food on the buffet was good with a great fish grill. We had onl went to the steak house and Mexican ala carte. The steak was good but we left without finishing our meal in the Mexican resort. We enjoyed the lounge entertainment but for us the sound was too loud with a poor sound system for the other nightly shows. Some toasters that work [... read more]
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: awesome resort
The staff are the best. Food is better than any other resort in Cuba. The grounds are very pretty . the rooms need up dating. And bathrooms in plubic areas need up dating as well. We have been to this resort 5 times and in Cuba about 20 times. And we will go back to this resort when we save enough money to do so. Had a great time and looking forward to our next trip.:-) hope to see you soon.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradisus Princess is Fabulous
This was my first all inclusive resort vacation and now I have been spoiled! The Paradisus Princess Del Mar was beautiful. We took the advice of other reviewers and booked the Royal Service and it is worth every extra cent. The private bar, restaurant and beaches are great; but the best is the butler service eliminating the hassle of having to book anything on your own
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great resort
The hotel was very nice, very clean they have a thing about toilet seats. The staff went well beyond any wants or needs, including any information needed about the nearest town or excursions off the resort. The food was good, but I did love the idea of no reservation for the a la carte and especially the option to the a la carte as often as I wanted. The beach needed a little maintenance to rocky.
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great place to visit
Great food, rooms, grounds, entertainment, beach. We had a very enjoyable week at the Royalton Hibacos and were pleased with the resort. The facilities are great and the beach is one of the best in the world. The staff was very helpful and the seafood restaurant was excellent.
Resonance Blu Varadero: Wonderful " Memories Varadero", aptly named
From the Cobalt blue windows in the huge lobby, to our room , to the little Oasis we discovered just off of the lobby, to the first class entertainment every evening ,especially the Aquatic Ballet, we have wonderful Memories of our stay there, and would go back again for sure. We did not have children with us, but we saw a couple of childrens shows, and Toopy and Binoo, the childrens director ,I think Chanel, was fabulous with the kids. Room was spotless, food awesome and lots of it. People were [... read more]
Punta Peninsula Varadero: excellent resort
the resort itself was well maintained, the rooms were clean and everything worked. the people who work there were outstanding. the pool bar was always a great time and the weather was beautiful. we took the scooters into Varedaro for the day and had a good time shopping and trying a local bar out.
Muthu Playa Varadero: A nice resort, I would go back.
The grounds were well kept. Most of the people were very friendly, the staff were helpful. When we gave our maid some Canadian and personal items, she was very grateful and gave us a hug. Only problem we had was with our original room. The lights kept going out and there was a lot of water leaking from under the toilet. The staff were quick to respond, but couldn't fix the water leak right away. I asked for another room and I was assured that I could get one the next morning after some of the gu [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Trip was good because of the friends we were with.
Would not go back. Unfortunately we found out that the resort has recently been sold so therefore we were in the middle of the transaction and we found employees didn't case. Will not go back! Done with Cuba!
Palma Real: 2nd time around
We were at the resort 4 years ago, somethings are better somethings suck. Better- Furniture in the lobby, Coffee and slushy selection, Bed quality was better but maybe just the same and i didn't notice, i was at a 4 1/2 star last year (blau Marina) and the beds sucked. Italian was awesome - too bad wasn't open for pizza at lunch anymore. Worse- Pool with swim up bar was half full of water some days- fill it up- No fries at the grill by beach or at the other snack bar- which sucks cause if you ca [... read more]
Punta Peninsula Varadero: Not a 4 star resort
The room was not clean and the beds were uncomfortable. It was noisy and the farthest away. There was no room service, including restocking the fridge or helping with our luggage. We had to get water from the front desk and after a few days they said they didn't have any and we had to buy it from the hotel shop. Most of our towels had black smudges, bird feces?, on them. The pool towels were stained. We were locked out of our room on our last day before checkout time. The food was tolerable for [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: It's not about the service, it's about the beach
All in all it was a successful vacation. However the 6 of us will not return to the Riu. The service was lack luster. Most of the staff is miserable until you meet one with a smile... it's like a beacon of light! We struggled with the front desk to get king sized beds but eventually after wasting time arguing we got the appropriate rooms. The restaurants are pretty good, we enjoyed them. Unfortunately you are forced to wait in line in the morning 2 days before EACH (2 only) reservation. This was [... read more]
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Good Resort
Good resort, rated #1 in Varadero. The hotel grounds are nice, the beach is gorgeous. The rooms are a little outdated but very clean and had everything we needed, ie. safe, fridge, ironing board, blow dryer and a really nice tub in the bathroom! The food is what you would expect in Cuba, not great but lots of options! The a la carte restaurants were ok but buffet was better. There is a 24 hour snack bar and a beach restaurant as well. Room service is also great but needs ordering in advance. It' [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Very good. Very few "let downs"
Royal Service was worth the expense. Private cabanas, pool, restaurant, butler, etc.... Food was better at private restaurant. Beach in this area had quite a bit of coral was up which was strange because it was clean a little further down.
Muthu Playa Varadero: Nice weekend getaway
The rooms were fine, only one bottle of water for the 3 days. Towels were on a shortage. No bathroom at the beach and the bar was only open 1230 to 3. Bathroom were up at the pool which never had toliet paper.
Punta Peninsula Varadero: amazing resort
The grounds were wonderful, had lots of walkways, different pool areas and two different areas for beaches. The dinning was very good. Had 4 different restaurants to eat in as well as the buffet area. Then there were 2 other areas to eat if the buffet area was closed. This resort had a number of activities that could've kept me busy all day if I wanted to participate. I found early morning beach walks amazing. All I can say was this was my first experience with an all inclusive and this experien [... read more]
